By the time Kara gets a handle on where she's woken up and about where she's located, she's going to try and get a sense of the neighborhood on foot, twisting her hair up into an unassuming ponytail and donning the glasses that have conveniently been left for her along with a few select outfits.
She slips on a winter coat even if she technically doesn't need it to stay warm, because she's not exactly going to be able to blend in if she's walking around in a short-sleeved blouse and pencil skirt. She might have to invest in some warmer clothes, and she looks like she's dressed more for a meeting at Catco than a walk down to the coffee shop or the diner, but right now she's just trying to get a lay of the land and that involves some canvassing — at least, that's the term Alex would use, if she were here.
The chances of bumping into her at either of those places is high, but the tantalizing smell of Chinese food is what's ultimately going to lure her to the hot pot restaurant, and so you're most likely to spot her standing on the sidewalk peering at the menu that's displayed outside; if she senses you glancing her way, she'll voice a slightly awkward chuckle, shrugging one shoulder with a self-deprecating smile. ]
Sorry, uh, do you know if this place has pot stickers?

[ Combing through the network has only been so helpful in letting her determine whether there's anyone like her here — people with powers, abilities, things that might make it a little easier for Supergirl to blend in. Anyone she's already introduced herself to knows her as Kara Danvers, former small-town girl who lives in the big city now and works as a reporter, but Supergirl is an identity she's trying to protect until it becomes absolutely necessary to reveal it.
Well, it looks like that time just became now.
It isn't as easy for her to pick up on cries for help here; she's figured out through trial and error that she needs to be closer to the person in distress in order for her to hear them, and her punches don't quite pack the same impact that they used to. It's unclear whether the low winter sun has anything to do with that, or the fact that she might be somewhere altogether different from her own planet, but she's still fast enough for a quick change before launching herself into the air for a low flyover, careful to avoid going too high in the sky so she doesn't inadvertently give herself a nosebleed or risk blacking out.
She finds the source of the screaming quickly, swooping down to land on the street; these maggot-like creatures have been everywhere lately, and they'll swarm in no time at all if she doesn't act fast enough.
If you're the one in danger of being fed on, you're in luck: Supergirl's here to save you, and she immediately charges in to start prying the maggots off, careful to avoid their strong bite as she throws one down and immediately crushes its head beneath the heel of her boot. ]
Don't worry! I've got you.
