Airy would likely not find anyone as inclusive as Molly, who accepted everyone as she'd been taught by her daddy. She was a incredibly kind soul with a sharp sense of who she wanted to be and that firmly included being nice. As far as she was concerned, there was no reason to act otherwise, even if a person didn't quite understand or relate to whatever they were concerned over.

"Oh, that old chestnut," she quipped, grinning at the other woman. Being that she was deputy daughter of a former police chief, she understood how nepotism could rile some people up. "Some people just can't judge a person on their own merits, I guess. For what it's worth, I'll bet you were a great court translator." Darn tootin'. "Maybe I'll sound ignorant for asking, but I can't not: What kinda translations do you do?"
