Molly had been imagining books and documents — things she might have seen on The Mummy or Indiana Jones. While she knew better than to expect too much fantasy, Airy didn't entirely disappoint her vision with her explanation. It certainly sounded as if it was a bit more interesting that being an interpreter for more mundane purposes, like mass.

"What's 'Common'?" he asked, genuinely curious. She remembered games and books using the word to describe what appeared to her to be English, but she was starting to get the idea that she shouldn't rely on anything to be particularly common, not even English. "Is it what we're speaking now? Or something else?" If nothing else, Molly was a quick learner and frightfully intuitive at times. She'd be embarrassed if she was wrong, but nothing ventured, nothing gained, she supposed.
