[the words are mostly for his own benefit, a few nods to go with them. if tony's saying that he's fine, then he has no choice but to accept it. even if he doesn't...entirely believe him. but it's something he's used to, whether he likes it or not. his aunt does it, and his friends here are just the same. so while he may hate the idea of others trying to protect him from things, he does also take a small level of comfort in it. they wouldn't need to hide anything from him if they didn't care about him in the first place.
