Day to Day Activities: Being a corpse is boring, so she's likely doing a lot of smoking and drinking and harassing a giant leprechaun. Also constantly trying to figure out a way to live without the coin in her chest.

About This Character: Laura is rude and brash. She has the mouth of a sailor and is almost as pleasant, but she's also exceedingly loyal (unless you're her husband, apparently. sorry, shadow!) and will 100% throw down for the people she cares about. She also happens to be a walking/talking corpse, though she mostly appears alive thanks to a lucky coin and an asshole god.
Any Warnings: See above?

Present Life: I haven't settled myself into the game the way I really should yet, so Laura's present life is fairly boring. Her only real "drama" currently is the fact that her husband, who she died in the act of cheating on, and the leprechaun she maybe sort of likes but definitely slept with once are both here.
Future Ideas: I really just need to get both her and myself settled into the game. She'll need to look for work soon enough, if only to stop her from losing her mind.

Day to Day Activities: Generally likes to study and research, so she can be found in the library reading books a lot and taking notes on things and people. She's an analyst, after all!

About This Character: Inaba is the type of girl that puts a front - she acts cold and distant towards others, but in a way where she tries to act generally polite (unless she's pissed) towards strangers because she's afraid of being betrayed by others - that's why she has trouble trusting others. But when she does trust someone and open up to someone, she is anything but. She is kind and with a warm heart, someone that cares about others and puts them first, but without being self-sacrificial. She does sometimes overthink things through, though. But she's also a CRAU from SCP/The Foundation, which is basically a short term murdergame as well. Application if you want further deets.
Any Warnings: Murder, extreme signs of depression, suicide, mentions of unreality and fourth-walling. Suicide generally won't come up as a topic quite often, but the other topics may come up in conversation once she starts getting close to people. I will, however, never bring up any of these topics without player permission.

Present Life: Just trying to get herself settled, as it's her first month. She isn't looking to get close to most people - although in spite of herself, she probably will. Basically these upcoming months is info gathering.
Future Ideas: I'm thinking at some point to have Inaba start a counseling thing for people who want to shoot the shit and talk about their problems? Inaba's been studying psychology to become a proper psychologist. Otherwise I'm pretty open to a lot?

CR You Want: Friends and older figures that she can look up to, primarily. I also want people she can talk theories about or technology-related stuff over.

Day to Day Activities:She's still trying to get used to things here so at most she is probably exploring when she can while lowkey being a loser who has been journaling and writing notes about her time here so far, doodling in her sketchbook and having daily conversation to her friends with a radio that does not work. You know, in between dealing with the shenanigans that happen in this place.

About This Character: Clarke was born in space and thrown into post apocalyptic Earth where she soon takes on the the role of being one of the leaders of the delinquents. She is the medic of the group once they are on the ground and she tries her hardest to keep her people safe and circumvent wars between the Grounders or any other threat constantly trying to survive. She can be a bit standoff-ish, way too serious for her own good and most of the time she can come across like a bossy know it all without realizing since she comes across as very authoritative with the confidence to match. Clarke does have some trust, self loathing issues and a huge guilt complex going on but she's loyal and stubborn to a fault while being pretty selfless when it comes to protecting her people and those she considers to be her friends.

Any Warnings: Death, loss, murder, torture, suicide ideation, violence, survivor's guilt, PTSD, paranoia, etc. Much of this won't really even come up aside from the occasional introspect because her canon is a disaster.

Present Life: Clarke survived Praimfaya (aka apocalpyse 2.0) !! because Nightblood is a thing which actually worked so she didn't die like she thought she was going to. The down side is that being she was the last person left on Earth so she has been living in isolation and trying to do her best to survive so with ending up in Deerington, it honestly feels like a fever dream to her so between being new here and all, she is she tries to get used to being around people existing again and how things are so much different here with what's available compared to things back home. She's very suspicious of all this and has been trying to focus on figuring it out since she doesn't really buy any of this.

For this event she has the title of Ultimate Artist so she's definitely leaning more into that if anyone wants to be model for her but gradually through the event she is going to be dealing with a lot of her guilt which will leave her being kind of a mess while she tries to help out others dealing with the same thing because she is that person who puts everyone else first.

Future Ideas: I would love to have Clarke get to the point where she starts opening up to and start to trust people more over her time here so right now my plans just involve building up her CR and seeing where that goes.

Additionally she recently won Sodder's Ring in the raffle so something I want to play around with is the fact she can now be invisible when/if she uses it and the additional effects from wearing it which include being able to pick up thoughts + impressions of memories for people nearby because I think it could be a fun cr opportunity! I'll be tossing up a permissions post later but if anyone has any interest in that please hit me up.

CR You Want: Everything!! I definitely want to build her cr while she tries to get used to people existing in general and trying to be social:

→ Friendships! People she can look up to or get protective over and aggressively adopt or vice versa because she is so not used to that since she's the type to worry more about other people over herself.
→ Like-minded people who are suspicious about this whole thing.
→ People who can make her laugh/smile more or give her more stuff things to nerd out like anything sports related or even just bond with over artsy things or even medical things along with anyone who shares similar canon experiences to her as well.
→ People to spar and/or train with because she needs more practice.
→ People with supernatural abilities or powers in general since she recently got gained something of that sort and is still trying to figure it out.
→ People to teach her about modern things (fashion, tech, food, etc)! She's from the year 2150 but the thing about being born in space after the world already ended is that not a lot of modern things would have been invented or salvaged and brought back to space. She might be well read about Earth things but lbr it might not be accurate across worlds, there are still things that are very new to her in a lot of ways!

Day to Day Activities: Rhys has his job, and spends a lot of time wandering around town getting familiar with the place. He likes to drink in bars, mostly for the music, and is slowly rebuilding his own stock of herbalism supplies. He also is inclined to be checking out the park/forest, since he's very much a back to nature type, and may have tried to leave town at least once without any luck...He is also trying to make friends with the deer and The Authority by bringing them treats and pettins.

About This Character: App here The first thing that anyone who looks at Rhys will see is lots of tattoos, piercings, and long hair, definitely not the sort to blend in. He actually looks like the type most people cross the street to avoid. But he's kind and quick to get involved with things when given the opportunity, especially if there's a way for him to help with something. Rhys isn't a throw-down fighter but he doesn't tend to let that stop him and he can be a bit of a scrapper when needed, especially with a few nasty magical abilities at his call. He is recently out of prison and haunted by some of his past, but trying very hard to move past it and become the sort of person that he can respect.
Any Warnings: Rhys is an empath and a fairly good one at that, able to sense the overall well-being and supernatural status of people around him. Rhys has a past of drug abuse, murder, child neglect/abuse, psychic vampirism, and sexual excess, and still carries CW for mild drug use and sexual content, being a very open and hedonistic sort when given the chance. I tend to play these situations very carefully and with other-player permission, however!

Present Life: Rhys is still getting settled after only a month here in Deerington, but has gotten into a rather basic routine that he's doing okay at. He's trying to cope with the fact that he just found out he's not human, he's a full blooded incubus (thanks to his handy Deerington ID card). The fact that his healing abilities no longer work properly and that the town is giving him weird visions and hallucinations is also sort of a problem for him, so things are very much day to day for him as far as staying out of trouble and being a Productive Member of Society.
Future Ideas: I would like for Rhys to get more involved in some of the more occult happenings in town since that's an area of expertise for him. I heard there were magic books out there and that is definitely a subplot that interests me. >.>

CR You Want: Bring me everything! Rhys needs friends and allies in this strange new place, particularly other supernatural types because he's not used to being able to interact openly with other non-humans. He also wouldn't mind some romantic involvement, though understandably that might be difficult under the circumstances, at least until he gets settled a bit more.
- People to explore Rhys's powers with would be a lot of fun, though he's still technically on the wagon as far as choosing not to feed on people. I'm expecting for him to break this particular rule eventually, either in the context of a relationship or under extreme stress.
- People who are afraid/disgusted by what Rhys is might be an interesting angle to explore because he really isn't human and is still getting used to that idea. He's used to being seen in a negative light and overcoming that to build eventual trust is something I'd definitely like to explore.
- Fellow supernatural hunters are always welcome, people to talk shop with and compare war scars. Or to make scary faces at each other, because monsters aren't supposed to hunt other monsters
- Really at this point I'm open to everything and just seeing how it goes!
CR You Don't Want: I'm open to nearly everything, really, and letting things develop organically! I might back off from really intensely negative CR but still willing to work out the situation if it happens.

Character Name: Atsushi Nakajima
Age: 18
Employment in Deerington: Signed him up for Hart Mart. Would like him to become a student in fall!
Residence in Deerington: Requested 425 Prospero Townhomes - Down for roommates, though!
Day to Day Activities: Atsushi is either working or looking for ways to help out around town. He doesn't know how to relax and enjoy things like hobbies... Because he has none! Someone should fix that.

About This Character: Atsushi is generally a sweet boy who wants to help others. He cares a lot, even for strangers, and will go above and beyond to help anyone in need. His past has left him a touch skittish and riddled with anxiety, and with his self-esteem beaten into the ground. He's also kind of snarky and can have a sharp tongue. More often than not, he's going to be polite and keep his head low.
Also, he has angry management issues and a hero complex and suuper hates Mother Superior.
And his canon is like... it wanted to be a roaring 20s mafia show, but it also wanted cellphones. And he can't seem to keep his leg on. Bungo Stray Dogs is an experience.
Any Warnings: He comes with a CW: Child Abuse. Atsushi spent his last 18 years in an orphanage, where he was beaten mentally and physically. Atsushi also has some PTSD, and has audio and visual hallucinations when under stress.

Present Life: Right now, he's coasting on the belief that his canonmates will someday come solve everything and take him home! And the wind is failing those sails. Atsushi is at a loss for what to do in Deerington, because he doesn't know how to get home and is afraid to set roots in a horror town.

In the event, Atsushi has a plotting post over here, but will generally just be... madsad. He's really frustrated by how useless he is and his inability to save anyone. His title is Ultimate Beast, which may lead to him being more short-tempered than usual.
Future Ideas: I would like for him to go to school. Silly and small goal, but I think getting an education would help with his lack of self-worth. Also, building his confidence in general. Atsushi has not had very many positive relationships in his canon, sans the Detective Agency, so he doesn't know how to socialize.

Things to play with... He has automatic regeneration and I would like for that to backfire more. Longstory short, he uses his auto-healing as an excuse to keep fighting when a normal human would stop. Atsushi has no regard for his well-being. I'd like to play with the auto-regen to teach him to be less reckless and realize that there are consequences to his fighting style.

CR You Want: A mentor would be really helpful. He does well with a positive authority figure to help him navigate the world. Atsushi could also benefit from friends his age and general friendship CR. He's a protective person and has a big brother instinct, even if he doesn't know what being a 'big brother' means. Roommates might be nice for him too.
CR You Don't Want: I'm pretty easy-going, honestly! Atsushi is no stranger to negative CR. Just be aware that he can hold a grudge.

Character Name: Peter Graham
Age: 17
Employment in Deerington: High school student
Residence in Deerington: Dunwich Hollow, in a house out by the river with Henry Coles. Though as of late, he can often be found at Quentin Coldwater's / Eliot Waugh's place over in Brahms.
Day to Day Activities: Before summer break, going to school (where his usual activities are following Luna Lovegood around like a gloomy shadow, skipping classes, having Possessed Fits when he actually does attend his classes, and falling asleep in random broom closets)... Wandering the town at night in a creepy zoned-out state and ending up on random people's lawns, cleaning up various items that his demon brings home, normal things. He's also lately been getting back into music, playing his guitar and keyboard.

About This Character: Peter is your average, incredibly traumatised teenage vessel for an ancient demon that was "handed down" through his family via botched possession attempts and finally successfully placed into the right host (Peter ♥) by a cult just prior to his arrival in Deerington. Said demon predates Christianity and is one of the goetic kings of Hell known as Paimon, though he's also been quite traumatised and is still extremely lost, himself. Here is some more information on this situation / Paimon! As for a bit more on Peter, he's mostly like a six-foot-tall twitchy spider: he just wants to stay hidden in the shadows, a little scary but mostly harmless to others.... He's shy, soft, and dangerously vulnerable on the inside, a product of growing up through unhealthy family dysfunction and the drawn-out process of being a sacrificial lamb who was progressively weakened and possessed. ....He's not fun at parties, or anywhere else.

Any Warnings: In particular, what will come up in my writing for this character is psychological, emotional, and physical distress related to demonic possession. There are details of that here, as well as the (many) other warnings from his canon. Emotional and psychological trauma, frequent anxiety/panic attacks, and familial death are also big themes that are frequently present in this character.

Present Life: His "Ultimate Host" title through July means that Peter has progressively been taken over by Paimon, fulfilling his "purpose" of being Paimon's vessel. That process has pushed Peter to desperately reach out to anyone who seems to have any kind of experience with such things, in attempt to help.... but nothing will. Until Luna Lovegood ends up making a pact with Paimon to try and ground him / give him purpose again, which will help calm him down a bit after July passes and give him some focus. Peter's also made connections with quite a few people who can offer different types of insight, and help him at least deal with his possession, even if it can't necessarily be cured. Meanwhile, Paimon's been forming some new relationships with others and seeking out "guidance" from them — the effects of which may be positive or negative. Time shall tell.....

Future Ideas: Peter has been in Deerington almost a year now, and finally knows Paimon's name! It's been.. a journey.... I'm seeing this as a sort of Stage 2 for them. Following the "Ultimate Host" thing and the bond experience with Luna, Paimon will be more of a consistent presence in Peter's life (and thus his CR), as opposed to this dark shadow that's kept hidden away as much as possible. I also have plans to get a stabilising gem for him soon, to allow him to permanently regain some of his powers. While still a weird, lost version of himself, Paimon's going to be reconnecting with what he really is a bit more — I'd love him to start practicing his "request/wish-granting" to people he's formed relationships with. (He's kind of like a genie; he functions through being given "offerings" and then granting "rewards"). His concept of that is a little skewed, and Deerington warping him down means his "rewards" might come in the form of like, dead things or old pieces of jewelry or Peter's pocket change, but.... he needs that system to keep him in line. Come request things from one messed up demon king.

CR You Want: Fellow horror peeps, those with supernatural themes or experiences, anyone with connections to demons or angels of various lore / demonology / magic-practitioners / witchcraft / etc. Others around Peter's age (17), classmates and teachers to deal with his haunted butt on a regular basis, younger teens and kids for him to Sadly Big Brother (he comes with a heaping dose of dead little sister guilt). I'm very interested in emotional / psychological focused situations; Peter is a character who really works well for slow-paced, heavy circumstances more than action-based ones. I like to dig deep and slowly unravel things, so I'm forever here for emotional things or exploring character traumas, etc. Hurt / comfort opportunities are also always on the table for this one. Negative or conflicted feelings in others would be great as well, given he's... pretty fucking eerie? I'd love to play around with more people being creeped out by him, or those who don't take well to what's inside of him for various reasons. He (and Paimon) are also extremely vulnerable, so there's potential for manipulation or negative influence on one or both of them, there.

About This Character: mrs s. is a former angel that gave up eternity after falling in love with a human, asking god to make her mortal so she could have a life with him. she is a huge caretaker, no matter how old someone is she'll look out for them, care for them or basically mother them a little. she's kind, helpful and really just wants to see humanity thrive. she's also very naturally curious and wants to at least know the history around this place whilst protecting anyone she can.
Any Warnings: religion, armageddon/apocalypse-talk, grief/loss of loved ones, body mutilation

Present Life: she's currently dead! despite being the ultimate nurturer and trying to keep everyone safe the things that she keeps very repressed ended up getting the better of her, with chloe price eventually killing her after her grief started physically manifesting. but before that she was doing her ultimate nurturer thing, including lots of water and ice cream during the heatwave. i'm happy to thread some cute ice cream chats or anything with her in ultimate mode. during the secrets the fact that she's an angel was written HUGE across the walls so i'm happy for people to have seen that!
Future Ideas: she's been talking with a couple of people about it and scouting out locations but i want her to set up some sort of safehouse deal, somewhere when it gets dangerous anyone (but especially the kids) can go and hide out, knowing that there's food, water etc there to let them just bunker down and wait out the wildness.

If she's not at the Hart Mart, she's trying to fix up her house that she accidentally wrecked a bit thanks to a nightmare (whoops), visiting/spending time with CR, learning self-defense from Captain America as you do, trying to hone in on Mother Superior with her telepathy but she's a slippery one, occasionally at the diner Frank owns because Laura told her the hot chocolate is good there. Really just around, she doesn't really have any hot spot to be found at or anything.

About This Character: Jean's a mutant with two mutations: telepathy and telekinesis. Basically, she can not only read your mind but also move things with her mind. She's also capable of some other things with those powers of hers but she never does the telepathy thing unless she has permission from you to. She also has a chaotic and unhinged personality known as Phoenix but more about her later. Jean's a pretty kind and compassionate person who is always willing to help those in need in whatever way she can. Because she's always been able to feel everything from everyone, she can easily put herself in another's person's shoes and is pretty understanding about a lot of things. She's sometimes insecure about her own abilities (feeling like Charles is a better mentor for things) but does her best to help those with similar gifts or just struggling in general. She completely knows what it's like to feel alone and like no one could understand you and so she tries her best to reach out to those who feel that way. She can also be a bit playful and flirty though depending on how comfortable she feels around you.

Any Warnings: Things that may come up with Jean are persecution for being a mutant, acts of cruelty towards mutants, character death, character sacrifice, separate personalities aka Phoenix, being responsible for the death of loved ones. The first two are more likely to come up than the others unless she feels comfortable enough with you.

Present Life: Jean's recently come to learn about Phoenix both in her own timeline from Logan and with her alternate self from Kurt. So that's a thing. Seeing that she's going to kill Charles Xavier in her own timeline and hear that she ends up doing some pretty bad things as another version of herself from Kurt, Jean's taken a bit of a hit with her confidence there regarding her control and powers and so she's been sort of keeping away from others with the fear of accidentally hurting them and just trying to figure out what to do about it. It doesn't help that she's been feeling more and more like letting go and now she knows that it's basically Phoenix trying to come out. She's not going to give up though! Just taking time to try and figure out what to do/how to not hurt the people she cares about as she's supposedly doomed to regardless of what version she is.

She's also about to lose three(??) of her CR to this event so she's going to be dealing with the whole how it feels to lose people to death around here and trying to process that while also being support for others who need it.

But there's also talks of treehouses being built with Laura, feelings being felt with Logan (xmcu), friendships being made both with different versions of people she knows and people she's met here, and just trying to make the most of her time here since her timeline is not a great one to go back to, womp womp.

Future Ideas: Despite Jean working hard to try and remain in control of her powers and self, there's going to be a point where she loses out to Phoenix and the other personality is going to take control... for a bit.... of time. I don't intend to make her be a villain looking to cause chaos but more someone wanting her freedom she's been denied for some twenty years because Charles Xavier locked her away. That's not to say she'll play nice should you get in her way, try to control her, or think she needs to be locked back up. As the repressed side/power of Jean, she'll be feeling a lot of different things while simultaneously coming into her power and so there will be moments of confusion and lashing out from her if you're not careful. The good end is Jean and Phoenix coming to coexist together. The bad end is Phoenix realizing she is Power and thus why she was locked away in the first place and doesn't have to answer to anyone/do whatever she wants. So I guess we'll see what happens. But opportunities to interact with Phoenix will be a thing for those interested as well as her CR.

He's sort of avoiding Sam since it took a hot second for him to understand that he isn't Lucifer so may have tried to kill him. About This Character: Full info here - Alright so because this is an AU Dean from a pretty messed up version of the world, he's not quite as nice as OU Deans can be. Topline differences are mainly: he hasn't seen his brother in 5 years, his brother is now possessed by Lucifer, he's obsessed with killing Lucifer, it makes him unbalanced af. He trusts precisely nobody so he's a hard nut to crack. He's been leading a resistance against Lucifer with the intention of surviving a harsh world and killing him so it's all he's been geared towards for a few years now.

About This Character: Maul's that cool character that only got ten minutes of screentime in the first prequel movie, but his got expanded a lot in the shows The Clone Wars and Rebels. He had a really rough upbringing being raised by Darth Sidious to become a Sith Lord himself, and at the canon point I've pulled him from, tends to spend his time trying to gain power and/or take revenge on Obi-Wan Kenobi. Grumpy, gruff, and completely psychopathic, there's glimmers of a heart under the psycho alien who will snap your neck in a heartbeat. While he is from the end of the Son of Dathomir comic, he is aware of his future due to an event where he got aged forward to the point of his death.
Any Warnings: There's extensive child abuse in his backstory both physical and mental, a few graphic deaths but nothing over PG-13 level, and some possible allusions to cannibalism due to his time being stuck on Lotho Minor with nothing else to eat.

Present Life: Maul went blind last month due to the evil faeries ripping his eyes out. (A sentence I never thought I would write...) So he's in kind of a weird place right now as he reorients his life to being without sight. He's very slowly learning how to see around him using the Force, but it's gonna be slow going for the foreseeable future. Still, nothing will put him down forever, not even losing one of his major senses.
Future Ideas: Maul's been hoarding a few Leitners and Jon, Martin, and company are going to be stealing them back. This will only end well, oh yes. He will not be happy about this. Looking to have him overuse his powers and go into full blown cuckoo for cocoa puffs insanity for a bit before someone can snap him back out of it. Also a possible plot where he goes fully psychotic Sith Lord and gets stuffed in one of these Mandalorian sarcophagus until he regains his chill. A long-term plot will be regaining his sight, but I want him to go a few more months at least before he finds a solution. If anyone has a character that could restore it/a wish they could grant/magic phoenix tears/etc, let me know!

About This Character: Kurt is unexpected in a whole heap of ways. He looks like a spooky demon but he's really just a charming cuddly goofball who loves to make jokes and have fun. For a while he was studying to become a priest, though that may or may not have been an illusion implanted in his mind (rule #1 of dealing with a Marvel comics character: just.. try not to think about it too hard). He's still holding on to his Catholic faith, but these days it's more defined by an ongoing belief in larger forces than being too tied to doctrine. Good Catholic boys don't tend to fall in love with murderers, after all.

These days his antics are a little more toned down, but he's still a charmer. He's also dealing with having fairly recently come back from the dead in canon (long story short: he was killed in battle and went to Heaven, but was kind of miserable there without his friends, then there was a fight with his demon father on a flying ship, blah blah, he was resurrected but may not have a soul now), but it's cool. Ish. Mostly.

He's also got the added Deerington exclusive trauma of not being able to teleport (his main mutant ability) without it literally tearing his fuzzy little body to pieces. Not that he usually tells anyone that until he has to.

Any Warnings: Kurt's past includes a lot of violence and a decent amount of child neglect and abuse, though I will try as much as I can to warn for these things if they're going to come up. He has had a fairly happy life in canon but it hasn't been easy (thanks, superhero comics!), so he might also dwell on his own or other deaths, injuries, possessions by weird ghouls and aliens, etc. He's also an adult in a number of relationships, so some threads may drift into sexual/nsfw territory, but again any content of this kind will carry warnings.

Kurt is a (semi) practising Catholic so scenes with him may also include references to that religion/religious themes in general, though not often heavily. Please let me know if you would rather I avoid any of this!

Present Life: As time goes on, Kurt's becoming more settled and (knock on wood) happy in Deerington, though not without a few bumps in the road. He experienced his first death at the end of October last year and that was gnarly enough to not bear repeating, so he's definitely becoming more aware of the potential cost of remaining in the dream as well as the good things it has brought and continues to bring into his life. Coming to terms with the fact that he might not actually want to wake up (and that they might not have a choice in the matter) is an ongoing thread running through a lot of his time at the moment.

Future Ideas: Everything is going kind of (fingers crossed) OK at the moment for Kurt. Between his job, his work in the community and his home life, he's got some stability going. The spring has been tough and it would be great if the people he cares about would just, you know, stop dying for a little while, but at the moment he's doing all right.

Recently he has had his own faith tested somewhat and with the reappearance of Mother Superior I'm interested in digging into a bit more of that, as well as his ongoing conflict between what he wants and his responsibilities to the people of Deerington.

Residence in Deerington: Mostly (and somewhat reluctantly) at the cabin with wwrench, howlett, suchmiracles and speed_of_snark, but also in his mostly trashed apartment David Cliff when he has to go and hide somewhere.
Day to Day Activities: Grady's very slowly getting used to the idea of being part of Deerington, so he's still keeping himself on the edges of the more social parts of the town. He can mostly be found wasting his time doing the following:

▶ Hanging around Manes on Main, making himself "useful" by acting as low key security (i.e. eyeballing everyone who comes in over the top of whatever book he's reading that day), running errands and fetching coffee/lunch/dinner.
▶ Lurking at the bar in the fake Hair of the Dog. He's falling back on some old bad habits, so can be found there most days. It's rare that he actually gets drunk, he's mostly looking for somewhere that feels familiar. He's become a regular at Deerly Diner for similar reasons.

About This Character: Grady was raised in and around the Fargo crime syndicate, along with Wrench, his partner in everything. They're childhood friends who fell into a bad crowd and never got out of it -- or at least Grady didn't, since he (SPOILERS) died while on a hit that went deeply wrong. He spent his entire life until that point up to the eyeballs in violence, kidnapping, extortion, and all the trauma and mundane weirdness that comes with working for the mob. He has a tendency for self-destruction and being a constant thorn in everyone's side, but hey, if you want someone killed or run out of town, there's no better guy to ask.

Any Warnings: Grady comes from a violent canon with adult themes. He's also a wanted criminal. His comments/plots may contain references to murder, gang violence, torture, criminal activity, major injuries including throat trauma, alcohol/substance abuse, sexual themes and death.

Present Life: There are two significant positives for being in Deerington for Grady: one, he's no longer dead. Two, Wrench is here. That's about it. He's been told to try and look at his second chance at life as an opportunity to make things better or be a better person, but a lifetime of expecting (or wanting) the worst out of people is making that difficult.

He arrived in Deerington in time to experience both the Titanic and Rapture and didn't do very well at coping with either, ending up on a backslide into substance abuse that ended with him stabbing John Blake in the side (sorry, dude) and generally going to a pretty dark place. Since coming back, he's decided to try to pick up the pieces and at least attempt to make amends, because he's starting to realise that he might be stuck in this place for good, and maybe there are worse things than death..

Future Ideas: If he's going to survive in Deerington, Grady's going to need to come out of his shell, so I'd like to find some ways for that to happen. This will probably mean he'll have to hit a pretty hard rock bottom first, though. I'd like for him to find a little stability and start exploring the idea of living a life that isn't constantly on the run, as well as coming to terms with the fact that whatever happens in Deerington isn't going to last once he leaves. This isn't his second chance -- this is, in many ways, his only chance.

CR You Want: Grady's a tough nut to crack in many ways, but I'd love for him to find some kind of friendship (a new and exciting concept for him). Some other possible ideas for his CR:

▶ People he can grate against without causing too much trouble. If you can withstand his attempts to make you regret being around him, he'll cling to you like driftwood in a stormy sea. He's never really learned how to be a decent person let alone have a relationship with someone that's not built around violence in some way, so things might be rocky before they even out.
▶ Victims! I'm always interested in making Grady's life worse, so if you're looking for a way to kill someone (or put out a hit), here's your man.
▶ I'd love to explore a bit of law-abiding/criminal tension -- Grady's a murderer many times over and he doesn't feel particularly sorry about that fact. Maybe this can be a fun source of difficulty for him!
▶ Self-destruction buddies! Let's backslide together! Depending on what else is going on, Grady is going to be drawn to the kinds of people he can fuck around with (literally or figuratively).
▶ If you're feeling brave, it would be great to find some role models for him, or at least someone who's happy to kick his ass until he makes something decent out of himself.

She's been looking after this one little boy since he was a baby when she was eleven so there's. That. Because you know, let the kid take responsibility for the baby this is Fine. She generally has a lot of guilt and baggage like whoa because of /gestures to Everything with this series in general. But she's trying. To keep hope and generally live by the morals and ideas Lee and her parents instilled in her, for all that she is also capable of doing what she has to in order to survive.

She has two guardians back home, Keroberos and Yue that are also Very Attached to her. She's from a shoujo so of course there are Crushes Galore, including Moon Crushes because she gets doki over those with the influence of the Moon. She loves Syaoran, hates Maths and broccoli and loves gym class and sweets and just having time to be a normal teenager with her friends and boyfriend pretty much.

About This Character: Morris is a genuine people person. He likes learning about people and is friendly and generally kind. However, that is not to say he's easy to manipulate. He's quick-witted and has strong moral character. While he's not a cruel man he can quickly dispatch somebody threatening him with a fast shot or punch. His gentle manner on the surface masks an inner toughness. He can seem naïve due to his lack of knowledge about modern things, being from 1851, but he's swift to pick up on new technologies and ideas and believes very much in equality and being an individual, not tethered to society rules.
Any Warnings: He had a strict high class upbringing which he turned his back on once he was old enough and harbours a lifelong hatred of his family and his father in particular. He's somewhat come to terms with this bitterness over time.

Present Life: Morris had been putting his past dealings as a tracker and bounty hunter to the back of his mind until recently being labelled as Ultimate Tracker, which brought up old feelings, linked with trying to emotionally escape his family. About This Character: Essentially, Quentin Beck is an unstable asshole who will quickly turn on you if it suited his own plans. However, he also has potential to do great things as he has a genius talent for technology. It's just shame about the ego that goes along with it and his overcompensating for his insecurities and bitterness about feeling overlooked and under-appreciated for most of his life. He likes to project and think of himself as a hero when he often makes villainous choices to further his own agenda. He's a sociopath with narcissistic tendencies but also can seem very friendly and even supportive, when he wants to be.
Any Warnings: Beck was neglected as a child and emotionally abused by a father who frequently either ignored him or told him he was a useless waste of space. His father would regularly 'speak' to his deceased wife, Beck's mother, as if she was still around and also tell her how useless their son was. This made young Quentin feel invisible, unwanted and gave him a complex about being ignored.

Present Life: This month, the friendly cinema-loving heroic persona Beck has been presenting for months has fallen apart. His lies have been exposed. His trial for his many canon crimes is going to happen and he'll be executed, his first death in Deerington.
Future Ideas: After he returns from death, he will likely be even more bitter than before after being found guilty. It's likely he'll target and turn his anger upon anyone who contributed to finding him guilty - even though he certainly is. He doesn't like to acknowledge any wrongdoing or want to admit he's a villain. Will he learn anything from any of this experience? Possibly in the distant future.

About This Character: After a rough childhood (see warnings below), Loki joined the police force and became a detective. His defining characteristic is his determination - and it's served him well for solving cases. He's been called a 'seeker of truth' and this extends not only in his work but also in a spiritual journey, where he's investigated a number of paths (some depicted in his various tattoos). Seeking the stability of some institution along with truths, he's joined the Freemasons and wears a ring signifying this. In general, Loki will do what he believes is morally right and he will risk his life without much thought to his own safety to save others, particularly children. He's a bit of a loner, but will be politely friendly to most people. He usually holds himself in a patient, calm way but there's a lot of emotions and rage bubbling under the surface. If you're a criminal or suspect, he can explode with fury and violence. These usually repressed emotions often come out as a pronounced blinking tic, indicating a lot of stress.
Any Warnings: Loki was abandoned as a baby and spent his childhood in boy's homes and other institutions, including juvenile detention as he went through a rebellious, delinquent stage brought on by likely abuse. He has a particular issue with religion and priests as a result, which caused him to look outside his raised faith.

Present Life: Labelled as the Ultimate Investigator, David remains a workaholic detective who feels he has to protect everyone, especially children. He'll be going through a lot of guilt about those he feels he hasn't been able to protect in the past.
Future Ideas: As always, it'd be nice for him to make more connections both professionally and personally. He can occasionally relax with a wry sense of humor at times. People may need some patience since he's not overly social and he needs a case to focus his thoughts on. Maybe somebody can bring him some perspective on a work/life balance and get him to relax more - even if that isn't easy around here.

Day to Day Activities: Fern tends to loiter around places, sometimes with his guitar or fishing at the lake or pond. He also has a tendency to hang out in trees or other shrubbery. He has daily training sessions with Maul and gun practice with K.

About This Character:Fern is the result of Adventure Time's main character, Finn, getting turned into a sentient sword and then merging with another sentient cursed sword, the Grass Sword. Physically, that means he's now made out of grass and has various plant powers. Mentally, that means he has two separate minds making up his Fern self: that of a human teenager who grew up in a post-apocalyptic Earth (and used to be a cosmic entity of change), and an eldritch horror octopus-spider who likes said human teenager but influences his darker thoughts and feelings. Fern's self esteem is essentially non-existent so he's often extremely self-loathing, and he generally thinks violence solves everything. On top of all that he has severe problems with his identity, having lost his previous one as Finn, and frequently questions his personhood. He has a lot of pent-up frustration and emotional instability, and on really bad days this can cause him to have destructive meltdowns.

Any Warnings: Being made out of grass Fern comes with buckets of body horror! On top of that he has low self-esteem, and has a lot of issues with his identity. He also has very violent tendencies and his past involves violence against children, death and parental neglect/abuse. Grass Demon comes with cephalopod and spider imagery.

Present Life: Fern suffered his second death back in April at the hands of one of the Leitner books. He is holding onto a couple (one that essentially makes you invisible, one that writes the secrets of whoever reads it in its pages) for research purposes, as he and Paimon are interested in their whole eldritch deal. Regarding Paimon, Fern has dedicated himself to him as his knight and is willing to do anything to protect him. More recently Fern had a run-in with Ultimate Archivist Jon Sims, who had a look inside his head and made contact with the Grass Demon. This sent Fern into total meltdown and he wound up stabbing both Jon and Glitch. In June the Grass Demon met a few folks in the Great Sleep, so the word is slowly starting to get out about him. This month sucks pretty hard since all the herbicide in the air is making him sick (being a plant sucks guys). Also he's in love with Varian oops.
Future Ideas: He'll be attending school in the fall! That will be exciting. After getting the story clue I'm planning on having him get more involved in the main plot, and he and Varian are going to do some research on multiversal portals (which I'm sure will go super well). After the current event he'll likely hole up somewhere and hide from people as his self-loathing will be at an all time high and his emotional stability won't be so hot. I'd love for there to be fallout from his trial, since it involves attacking so many Sleepers!

I have a personalized horror in mind for Fern that I will do one day that involves him splitting back into the Grass Sword and (broken) Finn Sword, so that a bunch of people can get cursed with a frantic Grass Sword controlling their arm and trying to put itself back together.

Lastly, one big plan I am one day hoping for is for someone or a group of people to take it upon themselves to help Fern out and kill the Grass Demon. This will have the unfortunate side effect of killing Fern since he can't exist without it, and would lead to his third death (which means loss of some canon and in game memories for at least a month). Pain for all!

CR You Want: Fern is basically an eldritch monstrosity, so characters who would bond over that or would be interested research-wise will get a lot out of him. He's also pretty easy to get negative cr with if you are looking for that. Since he's getting into music more musically-minded people would be fun, as well as kids his own age (especially if they think he's a weirdo). About This Character: Homura is a former Magical Girl and time traveler who, like the rest of the Puella Magi cast, made a deal with a sketchy cat in exchange for a wish - in her case it resulted in the ability to go back in time over and over so she could hopeful prevent the death of her best friend. Approaching her 100th loop, it really wasn't working until it did thanks to Madoka herself. Then the Rebellion movie happened.

Homura herself is pretty withdrawn and tends to come off as standoff-ish so it'll take her a long time to warm up to people. But it is possible and Homura herself may learn to open up again.

Day to Day Activities: Usually, Jeff can be found going for runs, working at the high school, scouring the music selection at Pixie's, grading papers/doing other teacher stuff at the diner or coffee shop. He often practices and plays the guitar, but only ever in the comfort of his home, so nobody's likely to actually hear it unless they're dropping by his house and catch him by surprise. He's outgoing and friendly, so if you want to assume he's chatted with your character before, we can pretty easily handwave that!

About This Character: Jeff's a sunny, cheerful bard from a modern (sub)urban fantasy universe where magic's out in the open and fairly mundane. Back home, he was a single dad, teaching high school and living in the suburbs. Here, he's... teaching high school and living in the suburbs. Depending on his mood, he can come across as any combination of friendly, chatty, high strung, anxious, occasionally manic, dorky in a dad way, and often sweet-but-a-bit-stupid. Basically he's a gentle himbo.

He often presents a goofy/silly exterior to deflect or distract from his own issues. Past the surface level, he tends to be serious, thoughtful, and empathetic (more than he's willing to let on during light interactions) and he's carrying a lot of guilt and self loathing from some mistakes he made back when he was a young rockstar bard constantly casting reckless spells and mainlining drugs... and getting possessed by a demon, which caused him to spiral into failure. Jeff can be kind of... deliberately shallow in initial interactions with people, and quick to brush past anything serious in his life, because he's pretty much convinced that nobody wants to see anything but the nice, cheerful surface.

Present Life: Since his arrival, Jeff's been doing his best to desperately cling to any sense of stability and normalcy here, in between dealing with the de-aging curse (which is finally over) and a brief stint as a bloodthirsty fairy. He's started to (slowly) embrace his magic again, and has cast some bardly spells around a small handful of people, though he still won't use magic outside of an emergency. Also, the rumors around town have outed some of his past issues with demons and addiction, though he's still reluctant to open up much about it.

Oh and since Jeff depends on routine and a set of habits and self-imposed rules to get through the day, all the chaos and violence this month is going to make him extra susceptible to DESPAIR. Expect a post sometime today where he's going to chase that high like it's the greatest drug he's ever taken, and do his best to spread it to others.

Future Ideas: After his death, Jeff's going to dive into a couple of new projects in an attempt at doing something productive that might actually help the Sleepers at large.

• Magic experimentation! He wants to see if hybridizing other worlds' magic with his own is possible, and to what extent, and will probably hitting up more magical folks about this.
  
• Recovery support group! Assuming there isn't one already, Jeff wants to start up a vaguely AA/NA group for fellow Sleepers dealing with or in recovery from addiction, just to give them some structure and support in a place that's HELLBENT ON TAKING THAT AWAY.
  
• Also he really needs to actually open up to people! Jeff has a tendency to try to diminish or quickly change the subject when the focus is too much on him and his issues, and I'd love for somebody to catch on and press him to fully open up.
  
• Coming to terms with his own complicated feelings about his demon experience. (SPOILERS! He doesn't think his demon was evil, and he feels sorry for it, but has a difficult time expressing it without feeling like it means he's broken or monstrous!)
  
• Getting him to toughen up a little/work on skills to better survive this place, without losing sight of the strengths of pacifism and kindness. I'd like him to struggle with this as time goes on!

About This Character: frank is fairly reserved with a lot of secret history that he doesn't tend to share too often here, including his time as a soldier before his family was murdered, sending him on a revenge spree that gave him the name of "the punisher". instead, he tries to keep things as simple as possible, remaining polite and gentlemanly to those he meets (with a dash of sass thrown in if he's encouraged enough) and mostly keeping quiet unless spoken to. he'll only ever raise aggression when prompted, to which he can be incredibly violent and if he has good reason, he will kill someone who's hurt or tried to hurt someone innocent.
Any Warnings: as the punisher, frank's history and characters contains: violence, gore, murder, trauma, ptsd, detailed mentions of child death, various other aspects to military life, family loss, and multiple kills.

Present Life: frank has currently been under a lot of pressure over the course of the month due to his assigned ultimate title of "ultimate punisher" causing him to fall into more aggressive and violent habits. he's currently facing frequent inklings to fight, putting on his punisher vest and going on a rampage to kill betties and other troubling enemies, having a short temper with any existing cr that tries to talk him out of him. at the same time, he's also being extra protective of his close cr, and will retaliate at anyone who happens to hurt them.

◼ fighting/killing sleepers right now, it'll be more of a challenge to get positive cr going, but due to frank's current state of mind, i'd love for the chance to have him kill a few possible sleepers, either due to his punisher mode taking care of someone causing trouble or accidentally through some kind of dispute. also anyone being a danger to laura or trying to restrain her is absolutely cause for him to fight and/or kill them. i also have a plotting comment with further event ideas.

Day to Day Activities: she's got a bit of skill with working radios, so she tends to work tech stuff in the broadcasting station trying to figure out if she can make anything useful out of what they've got there (typically to no avail), but she's mostly making use of whatever amenities are around town since she's lived in the apocalypse for about eight years and needs some of that normal life spoils again.

About This Character: addy comes from the zombie apocalypse! it's definitely toughened her up tremendously, not only in her physical build and stamina, but from the losses she's had to endure during those long eight years. she's lost family, friends, and lovers alike, and she's hardened her shell a bit, to where she once even fully blocked out a traumatizing memory as her way of coping. she's more vulnerable than she likes to believe, but she's good at getting back on her feet and making the most of what she has. sometimes people think she has too much of a soft spot, but even in a man-eat-man world, she's still managed to keep the part of her that cares for others and still looks out for anyone else even at the risk of her own survival. she's also lost an eye over the years, which she often keeps covered with an eye patch or a strategic placement of her bangs.

Present Life: addy is currently dealing with the disappearance of her old roommate, kai parker, who's know left deerington. she's a bit tense and uncertain, which has her trying to build her guard back up, since she's faced quite a few losses in her time and knows that they often tend to leave her fairly vulnerable. instead, she's focusing on fight bear robots and taking care of anyone who needs help under the current circumstances of the month with trials and guilt shadows.

◼ tech-engineering i'd like addy to get more involved with trying to work with the existing tech around town to form new devices. the real attempt is to try and make a radio to communicate with something out of town, but since that's not necessarily possible, it'd still be a chance to learn about different technologies from different worlds and times, while also teaching her own skills to whoever might be willing.
◼ survival lessons since addy's spent eight years in the apocalypse, she knows a few things about how to survive on limited supplies and in complicated settings. since deerington has more than a few times caused them to be in situations where there's been food shortages, addy can offer some lessons, especially to the younger kids, on how to work through it.
◼ shooting lessons in addition to hunting for food, addy knows the importance of having a weapon and how sometimes it's the only thing between life and death. she'll be willing to spare a few lessons to those who need it, and she isn't the kind of person who thinks a kid shouldn't learn how to use one (she's handed a five-year old a gun once, it's fine), so she's open to making sure everyone's prepared. she might even teach people how to fight with her nifty customized spiked bat.
