Sasha has to bury her face in his shoulder before the next sound that leaves her mouth is just a quiet sob. She swallows it down, shoulders trembling just slightly from the effort. The collar of his shirt is going to be covered in mascara stains after this but she feels like he won't care much.
He feels different in her arms in a way she can't quite pinpoint. Time's passed for him since she last saw, she knows that. Time and horrors and everything else that'd been thrown her team's way in her absence. But still, he's Tim. He's here and he's real and he smells like smoke and marshmallows.
She pulls away just enough to look him in the face, a thousand words racing through her head and not one of them feels right so she'll just have to settle for now. A slow and, to Tim, familiar smile spreading across her face even as tears keep rolling down her cheeks.
