It's almost worth it, the awkward, stiff moment, watching Jon go to get the drink. It's worth it, at least, the bit of awkwardness that it instills, because it makes Tim feel like he has a moment of power that he hasn't had in ages? That he hasn't had in a couple years, at least, and progressively less with every advancing moment over the last year with the Institute.

When he returns and puts the drinks down, Tim doesn't need to have some sort of extrasensory perception to know that Jon had no idea what he was doing over there and just got what Tim did.
