[Fern is back at his lake-adjacent treehouse to pick up a few more supplies before heading back into town when he hears the sound of some scuffle going on nearby. Without considering the potential danger he decides to go check it out, partly out of curiosity and partly because he'd rather not have someone die and leave their ghost on his front lawn. So he goes and wanders on over, not sure what to expect, certainly not some guy in a cool helmet fighting a lake monster. More importantly, some guy using a really fancy-looking weapon to fight a lake monster. What even is that thing?

Fern doesn't join in right away - not because he has no desire to jump into a fun-looking fight, but because he has his priorities and right now his big one is making the following remark:]
