Tim knows a look of avoidance when he sees them, and Jon is an expert at that look. It's become even more intense than the last time he saw it, which doesn't bode well. Tim doesn't know what to do with the weight of that. They knew things weren't going to be better, because things hadn't been easy in months, but shouldn't they have been easier at least with the ritual taken care of?

"Take a drink," he recommends. He tried to pick through his own muddled, fuzzy memory of The Unknowing, but most of it was the stark terror and disorientation of it, a different sort of twisted and twisting than being in the tunnels and hallways of the Spiral.

"I didn't even realize it was there. Surprised it didn't get blown up, too."
