Kristoff had actually managed to drag Sven a whole foot backward at this point, feeling relatively proud of himself for managing to get some control of the reindeer and get the towns people to stop glaring at him for blocking the way. He was still trying to yank him farther back, trying to get Sven to understand that this place could be dangerous no matter how good the carrots smelled, but that didn't seem to be getting through to him in the slightest.
The focus he's been giving to try and get control of his best friend means that he didn't hear someone running towards him or even notice it at all until she shouted his name. He barely had a chance to even look up before he suddenly had arms tightly around him and he lost his grip on Sven in the process, stumbling back a little as his arms wrapped around her on instinct rather than immediate recognition given the circumstances. There was a small "Oof!" as the air was somewhat knocked out of his chest. The reindeer takes his chance and bolts into the store, but Kristoff is too preoccupied to be immediately concerned.
Now that he's able to register things again, he can see the red hair that's in his face, feel the familiarity of the body clinging to him, and his grip around her only tightens as he realizes who she is. Kristoff buries his face against Anna's neck immediately, eyes shutting tightly as he breathes her in, and relief floods through him knowing he has her in his arms.
She's safe. In a terrible place, just like him, but safe. That's all that matters.
"Anna." Her name comes out in a gentle, muffled sigh against her. He eventually shifts his head slightly so that he's no longer talking into her hair, chin resting against her shoulder as he's all but lifted her off the ground and kept them at a similar height. "Are you okay?" He remembers the warning he got about things being dangerous here and immediately feels his heart tighten with worry. "Did anything hurt you?"
