Kristoff can see the worry on her face long before she decides to say they need to contact Elsa. He nods in agreement over their connection, though he isn't sure if it will work as well when they're stuck in a dreamland. He doesn't voice that concern aloud, however, not wanting to dampen her hope or shoot down an idea before they've even tried it. It isn't like he understands how the magic keeping them together works, after all. Maybe there was a way.

The stomach growl gets a chuckle out of him, though, and he pushes off of Sven to go and gently place a hand at the back of Anna's neck as he looks down at her. He should probably say it's okay to go find some food or offer to taste test something just to be sure it's safe. Those suggestions really are on the tip of his tongue, completely relevant and ready to come out.

"I love you."

Apparently, his mouth had different ideas than his brain. That's fine. He takes a second to realize that was his reply and then gives an awkward laugh, an embarrassed look on his face even though they're engaged so of course he loves her, but it feels rather ridiculous to have that be the moment he decides to remind her. When her stomach is growling and she's clearly starving. Ugh.

"Uh, I mean, let's—" His voice cracks the way it often does when he does something he thinks was dumb (or when he's embarrassed or nervous or pretty much any strong, unpleasant emotion besides anger and sadness) and he clears his throat quickly to get it back to normal. "Let's go find you something to eat. I'm sure there's got to be more here that's safe than carrots."
