leap of faith

[ Credence finds the dollhouse unsettling immediately. There's so much about this town that is always unsettling, but somehow, there's always some new thing to have this effect on the Sleepers. Credence isn't exactly easily fazed these days, but it's still creepy and he doesn't appreciate being here.

It's been a couple of hours (he thinks?) since he got here by the time he finds Lev in the attic. By then, there are telltale cracks along Credence's skin, reminiscent of what happens before and after his obscurus transformation. But these aren't like that. These are cracks on smooth porcelain, threatening to shatter perhaps more permanently than he usually shatters.

Everything feels stiff and strange. Lev looks doll-like as well, though that part doesn't seem too strange at this point.
]

Are you sure? That's a long way down.

[ But Lev seems sure of himself in a way Credence just...doesn't. That's how it goes for Credence, rarely sure of himself, especially when confronted with something like this.

He's hesitant when Lev reaches out a hand, because Credence has never quite gotten used to casual touch, and this boy is a stranger to him. But...Deerington brings strangers pretty close, and Lev doesn't seem untrustworthy (not that Credence is a good judge of character).

So he reaches out and takes the younger boy's hand, though his own is stiff.
]

You're really sure?

[ ooc: I figure we can do a round or two in the attic then they'll jump if you're up for that! ]
