If it was one of his housemates or, Goddess forbid, Edelgard herself who had been the source of this information, he would have no choice but to pursue the truth regardless of the cost it held for either of them. Instead, it’s a girl closer to a stranger than not. One he’s exchanged more words with today than at any point in the past and whose admirably covered vulnerability still manages to shake his conviction. ]


Or... as fine as could be expected. I doubt there’s anyone capable of remaining completely unaffected when faced with the events of the last several days.

[ To say nothing of the last few hours. This town is unlike any nightmare he’s ever experienced, but it’s equally as disorienting. His attempt to find a routine, balancing smaller goals to prevent being overcome by his own sheer lack of understanding, is a work in progress. In the end, her prediction of a future he’s yet to meet is just another part of the mystery. A complication to be set aside until he’s best able to consider what it means... or confront those who bear responsibility. ]
