It was probably a blessing and a curse that money was so often on Kristoff's mind, even after roughly three years of living with royalty who often covered things for him. He never failed to still try and get the cheapest things, even they never let him, and it always felt like too much. He'd gotten better at accepting the generosity, of course, but it didn't mean he didn't immediately worry about the price of literally any object.

Which apparently worked in their favor this time, even if he hates seeing the way it crushes Anna's hope for a moment. He knows he has a handful of coins in his pocket and maybe he could get away with pawning some of the things from the satchel on Sven's back, but otherwise he didn't have much. He knew he could get a job, as some had said, but that didn't help them right this second.

He watches Anna play with her jewelry, shifting his hand so that it can still hers. He wasn't about to let her sell her possessions for krumkake.

"I'm sure we'll have enough for right now. Even if it means maybe just getting one dessert, it just gives you an excuse to come back to try a new one each day."
