The pause is more than enough to make Ruby feel uncomfortable. More so when she realizes just what he's staring at. Eventually her hand will move to pull the lamp back and hide it beneath her cloak. She... Wasn't so sure she really needed to keep it from him after what she's seen, but it was something that made her wary nonetheless. She remembered how he had acted the last time it had come up.
When he finally speaks up she picks up on the change of tone. She frowns and lets her head hang low for a moment before she looks back up at him. There was a confusing mix of emotions running through her. All the fear, anxiety, sadness anger, confusion that he just left them and a understanding about what he had been through all rushed to the forefront of her mind and she couldn't find the words to say. Her hand trembles lightly against his back as she struggles to think of what she should do.
Eventually she takes a breath and shoves it all down. It wasn't the time for that.
"Alright." It's all she can think of to say. She's not sure whether it's good or bad that he remembers, but she leans toward good because she she doesn't have to explain things to him. She wouldn't hide things from him like he had with them.
"This place can be dangerous but it looks like you already know that." She just kept pushing her emotions down. There were more important things they could focus on for now. "I've been here for awhile. I can answer any questions you have."
