Maul glared at Luke for a moment, trying to figure out if the human was being nosy or judging him outright just because he was a Sith. But that didn't seem to be the case.

This wasn't a story Maul could tell standing up, so he went back over to the bed where he'd woken up, gesturing for Luke to take one beside him. Strangely, he didn't mind the closeness of being next to someone, touch adverse as he usually was. "I was sent by my master to capture the Queen of Naboo. We dueled to the death. I separated the master from his padawan and killed him right in front of Kenobi while he was helpless to do anything but watch. Then we battled. I gained the upper hand but grew too confident, allowing him to strike back. He sliced me in two and I fell down an endless shaft. So it was easy to see why both men had such viewpoints regarding each other. Maul had started it and he was determined to finish it as well.
