This is all really a lot for an ancient Greek deity to take in, especially with how little Thanatos even bothers interacting with mortals outside of just fetching souls. He's got some pride about him, but just not enough to keep up a charade as if he understands what is going on and what is being explained to him.
That said, he is thankful to have had the help, and he heaves a sigh and smiles just a little. "My Lady... er, Joyce. You've been exceedingly kind, and I appreciate all of the help you've given me." He steps back from the strange machine and everything, crossing his arms over his chest. "I think I need some time to process this all now, though. In truth, this is a lot, even for a god. Just being in a locale I'm not used to its already so much to wrap my head around, and the fact that I'm apparently sleeping? It's a little overwhelming."
He feels a little foolish then, but the conversation has really helped him not to freak out too much, and it isn't as if she'd thrust this information on him. "Thank you for your help and company", he finally says, almost as an apology, bowing his head ever-so-slightly. "You've answered everything I asked of you, and I've nothing to offer you in return but the hopes that it is I who greets you at the end of your life, though I can offer you perhaps a small favor in the future, should you but name it."
Obviously he can only do so much! Thanatos is very by-the-books, and he hates rule-bending which is usually what mortals want from Death, but surely someone kind could come up with something that would at least appease the Fates.
