They're free.

It worked, somehow. Thanatos doesn't understand it, but they're out of that hallway, finally free of the wailing and the claustrophobic space, and Thanatos settles on the ground again, breathing heavily and holding a hand up to Orpheus to give him a moment.

He's still quite angry with that spirit after all, and since they no longer need it... Thanatos places a hand to his own chest, clenching his fingers and then pulling the spirit out of him. "Foolish shade," he hisses, his anger most definitely not on Orpheus as Thanatos summons his scythe to his hand, swinging it once the spirit is outside of his body, causing it to shriek just once more before being torn asunder.

"... Much better now."

And now he can finally relax, it seems. "My thanks, Orpheus. Though you do not bear the face I knew, your musical ability speaks for itself. I am lucky to have had your assistance."
