Eggstagram

As part of this month's event, everyone gets their own egg!

YOUR EGG: This egg is meant to represent your character. It can look/feel like anything, but it should have some unique interior to represent the "core" of your character's life - whether that's a heartbeat, a flower, mechanics, stardust, or whatever substance. Characters will know immediately that this is their egg and that they have a soul-deep connection and that this egg represents the potential for their "new life." [ source ]

So share what your character(s) eggs look and feel like! Comment on them ICly? idk i'm not your mom go wild

There's a picrew eggmaker you can use to make a cute picture of an egg if you can't find a picture that suits what you're going for elsewhere.

anakin's will change back and forth between the two appearances, when it's a dark egg light will spill from the crack and when it's a light egg darkness will seem to ooze out of it. it will have a core of force so people might be able to sense a strange power to it.

touching it will feel weird because while characters can definitely see that they're holding it, there will only be a faint sensation that they're touching anything. is it hard, soft? who knows?

i haven't decided if it makes any noises, maybe the vader wheezing noises. help me think of ideas.

he's giving his to qui-gon to look after so ask his grandpa really nicely and he might show you it.

Varian

[personal profile] droptheious 2021-05-08 09:38 am (UTC)(link)

Varian's egg is the same colour and texture of the amber chemical he made that ruined his own life once- thankfully, it's not as unbreakable. There's a blue smoke swirl to match his hairstripe always floating around it. The egg feels like rock to the touch, and there's definitely liquid sloshing about inside it. Fulla alchemy. A Corona Sun - the emblem of his homeland is on the front where the egg is chipped (SYMBOLISM!) and the top of the egg has a crack in it.

Fern is currently taking care of it because self-loathing is not a quality to encourage looking after your eggsona. Varian's still not sure how he wants to deal with it.

Mirai Akarui | Original

[personal profile] fatedmahou 2021-05-08 09:52 am (UTC)(link)

Mirai's egg is meant to resemble growth & "new life"; much like her magic. Long story short is that magic is tied to hope and what you aim for in life. Her world is basically dead along with everyone in it. The long information can be found in her character information post; or you can just ask me and I'd be happy to blab on about it for way too long. Probably. Either way, the thing she wants the most is to save people and her world, which is why her magic (and egg here) is heavily tied to life.

Mirai's egg will have flower effects seemingly appearing around it and disappearing periodically, meanwhile glowing a soft light. Her egg feels a lot like a normal egg, but it seems to be pretty fragile, so should be handled with extreme care. Over the month (and longer if it lasts until June), the glow on it well get dimmer and dimmer to reflect her own failing health. There will be close to no glow near the end.

Darth Maul

[personal profile] survivalthroughhate 2021-05-08 10:01 am (UTC)(link)
So Maul's egg, to no one's surprise, looks like this:

It's REALLY big, like the size of an emu egg, and glows with the same red light that comes from his lightsaber. It's also very warm to the touch, but not unpleasantly so, the same way Maul naturally runs hotter in body temperature than a human being does (it's the two hearts thing.) Rather than feeling brittle like a bird egg, it's got more of that leathery reptile egg feel to it. Sounds don't normally come from it, but if it's not cared for right, these growling and snarling noises tend to be heard, the same kind all Zabrak males are capable of making.

He's gonna keep it tucked safe away at his home because the thing is cumbersome and hard to carry around but he'll make sure it's well taken care of. He's nowhere near the point of his personal character development to be ready to sacrifice himself for anyone, so he'll be keeping it intact and choose to awaken.

Fern

[personal profile] laminae 2021-05-08 11:16 am (UTC)(link)

The egg picrew is fun! Fern's egg will however look similar to his sword seed in canon:

It appears as a sword-shaped wooden seed that is fairly small but feels relatively tough and difficult to break. Vines are winding around it and flowers are sprouting from it, and the orb in the middle is cracked. The orb is dark, but something appears to be moving inside of it occasionally, something with butterfly wings and spider legs. Holding it gives you the sensation of a fragile light that's been confined for a long time and is currently struggling to not go out, as well as something insidious working its way into your mind, that you should just sit back and let it go for it.

Varian will be taking care of his egg for the same self-loathing reasons he'll be keeping an eye on Varian's.

Sarona Gayle | Original

[personal profile] inkedspell 2021-05-08 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)

Sarona's egg is a strange shifting, contradicting thing. It shines like a polished precious stone. The colors of green and yellow swirl together back and forth as you shift it as if the colors are alive, but there's a large dallop of blue that is stuck in the center, preventing the colors from fully blending. The single branch extending from it has small flowers blooming, but they look very delicate, like breathing on them could cause them wither and die. The blue designs look to be painted on, but they aren't. Rub your finger over and you'll feel the slight indentation of an engraving.

The outside would look perfect, shiny, brand new, if not for the large cracks all over it, including the hole from which another branch may have extended before. A piece might even fall off the shell, and you'll see that the egg is rusted metal on the inside. A shadow of a core is there, but you can't see it clearly, like it refuses to reveal itself.

This egg is meant to represent how Sarona sees herself and how she wants others to see her. Because for all that she acts like she doesn't care, Sarona is someone who was raised to believe her value is in what she can do for others and how useful they find her. She also has been through a lot and weathered while looking Just Fine, but shit has not been easy and the wear and tear is far more visible on the inside than the outside, despite her missing part of her arm. The little water drops at the top are actually ink drops and all the blue represents the way blue has been permanently imprinted on her.

Usagi

[personal profile] lightthedarkness 2021-05-08 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)

Usagi's egg emits moonlight and feels cool and simultaneously warm to the touch, the egg is smooth and doesn't have any cracks. If held up, not to sunlight, but to moonlight, inside can be seen the outline of a lotus blossom. The lotus blossom opens and closes in tandem to Usagi's heartbeat. The egg perpetually glows day and night but is especially brighter when the moon is fuller or completely full.

As Charlie is an antiques appraiser, she'd get something iconic and, well, if you're talking eggs, you MUST go Faberge! The included photo is a replica, but it suits Charlie.

Peter Graham 👑 Hereditary

[personal profile] possessum 2021-05-08 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)

■ a rather plain-looking egg upon first glance: of an almost wooden texture, and a woodsy-green colour. Yet when the egg is turned even the slightest, a sheen of metallic gold can be seen shimmering, as though woven into the green itself.

The egg is unsettling to touch and to hold, in a way that is difficult to describe, but will likely cause feelings of tension and anxiety. There's a distinct feeling of Other, of something within it: hold it long enough, and one will feel a swirling sensation of something moving beneath its odd wooded shell, something that seems strangely incorporeal, the way light might feel if it could be touched. Unmistakably, this spectre, or entity, or whatever energy pulses beneath the egg's surface, registers in the mind as alive. One might also hear sounds emitting from its core at random: faint tinkling noises, and more abrasive, discordant pieces, like an instrument grating against itself, something that isn't quite music. Colin Stetson noises.

Peter will be nervous of this very likely possessed egg and prefer to keep distance for as long as it's in his care — ultimately, he will end up burying it with Luna Lovegood's egg, in form of Sacrifice.

(And this eggmaker is adorable; I had to indulge in it and made a spooky little Hereditary-themed egg for fun ♡)

Ironwood's egg! It appears to be made of a force field (Hard-Light Dust shield for people from his world* but essentially the same thing), and it's also locked, because symbolism. It glows softly, though that flickers occasionally.

(*It also glows a slightly different shade of blue than Hard-Light usually does - it's closer to the colour of his Aura aka his soul)

Its filled with clouds that shift and change from normal every day clouds to thick, dangerous storm clouds. Sometimes visible through the clouds is a mechanical heart; it's usually beating. Sometimes it is not.

When the heart isn't beating and the egg isn't glowing, the clouds within seem thin and almost fog-like.

Half the egg is cold feeling the other half is hot. The center is that just-right spot. The outside of both halves, swirl like a nebula.

Getting near this egg, one will feel a very powerful presence. If this is picked up, there are two heartbeats felt. Stardust will also trial off when this picked up or lightly tossed. There are also a few rose petals stuck in a few spots.

For those who's seen it before, this egg very much reminds them of the ethereal form of corporeal patronus charm. It's silvery-blue, ghost-like in a way, and there's faint little wisps and tendrils that seem to exude from it, curling around the shape of it, and upwards. It glows gently, like moonlight. It also has an iridescent sheen to it when held to the light — reminding one of mother of pearl. It has a wreath of tiny flowers fixed atop of it in the colours of blue and yellow — a nod towards Luna's Hogwarts house, Ravenclaw — and is delicately embossed with a crescent moon.

When one holds it, they'll find it to be very light, as if it barely weighs anything at all. Almost like air, and quite pleasantly cool to the touch, very much like a gentle breeze. Inside, they'll be able to see a tiny, silvery anatomical heart that is beating, and they'll hear the soft, quick heartbeat of a Hare.

It's strangely pleasant to hold; characters will feel calmed holding it.

Tsume

[personal profile] clawandscars 2021-05-11 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
Tsume's egg looks like a mixture between these two:

and

Basically it's got the color of the latter and the same inside and the outside looks like the drawing of the former painted over it. There's little cracks running all over it. While during the day nothing can be seen, at nighttime under moonlight, with the candling effect you'll see the little forest scene within, a perfect little utopia of nature. Because of the cracks, the egg is very fragile, and Tsume will be very protective of it. But ask nicely and he might show it to you anyway.

The two sounds that can be heard from it are wolf howls, of course, and a peculiar song in Gaelic, which if listened to long enough will produce a calm, sleepy feeling in the listener. Both of these are only heard at night as well.
