ALL CITIZENS RECEIVE A DELIVERY ON SEPTEMBER 11th

All characters will receive one perfume bottle of Glamour.

The perfume will smell enticing to whoever the Glamour is given to. There is a simple card inside with the bottle of perfume that reads:

Wears off after twelve hours. Apply generously for better results. Use wisely.

Glamour is a spell that usually casts a spell over unusual looking creatures in order to make them appear "normal" so that they can fit in with humans.

Except in Deerington, it seems that the exact opposite happens.

This isn't your grandma's Glamour. A character must spray this directly onto their skin the way they would a normal perfume for the spell to properly work. There will be absolutely no pain when the transformation takes place. It will be a rather magical experience, involving a good deal of shimmering lights and twinkling sound effects. Of course, the end result might not be so pretty...Then again, it might also be beautiful. Who knows?

Characters will transform into any number of famous fables, fairy tales, myths, urban legends, or known monsters. This means that a character may transform into some version of Snow White or the Jersey Devil or a faun or whatever you'd like. Congratulations: you're now a legend.

What does this mean? For the most part, these transformations are aesthetic. Characters won't find themselves having to learn how to fly. It'll just seem like a really comfortable costume.

At least until nightfall anyway.

Under the moonlight, the transformation seems to gain a certain power. These abilities are limited to whatever fable your character is transformed as. Powers must correlate to the fable. This means that you can't just give someone transformed into the Ice Queen fire powers. All characters may only have one ability while transformed. Maybe it is ice powers for your Ice Queen, or maybe it's night vision for vampires. Either way? It's not such a bad situation! At least not unless you had the misfortune of being transformed into something that has a craving for human flesh. As your character isn't a master of these abilities, you certainly won't be able to conjure up any blizzards or anything too huge- but at least it'll be fun for a little while! Or stressful maybe.

The effects and appearance do wear off after every twelve hours. Characters must reapply if they would like their transformation to come back or last longer. You could reapply during the twelve hours and automatically gain extended time in the transformation.

All perfume bottles will be empty by the end of October regardless of character use.

THE DEERINGTON POST

Not much to report this time around the bend. For those Sleepers out there just waking up to Deerington, make sure to get your Flu Shot before the end of the month comes up! School season is the sickest season of all. Remember to sneeze into napkins and wash your hands! Let's keep this town free from disease as much as we possibly can. Teamwork!

As for everyone who might have missed out on the Back to School Raffle on August 30th, fear not! There is still a sign up slot on September 12th. Get in there fast! These are goodies you won't want to pass up- I guarantee it. Sodder only makes the best for you all!

Fall Festivities!
Deerington is a town known for loving Halloween! Get into the spirit of things by picking up some decorations down at the Hart Mart or maybe make something yourself. Those DIY projects are just so fun, aren't they?

There will be plenty to do around town. Go out to Clarke Acres to pick yourself up some pumpkins to carve with your friends! Don't forget to check out the fun corn mazes or the petting zoos! Or maybe sit down and enjoy some donuts and hot chocolate. It's the best time of year, and we might as well cozy up for it, am I right? Talk about ideal date weather.

The Raffle: Sign your character up for the raffle if you believe they would ICly enter it! Although this raffle promotes school supplies, your character does not have to be a student to enter it or win it! All winners will receive their prizes on September 14th!

The Flu Shots: Sign up your character if they plan to get a flu shot sometime in September!

The flu shot is a bit intimidating to get. So only put your character on the list before if they would actively get the shot ICly.

The flu shot is not one you can get at the hospital or replicate regardless of what technology or medical skills you may or may not have. You wouldn't even be able to get a vial from the nurse anyway. She will insist there is limited supply and that she's only authorized to give shots, not hand out the medicine itself.

So what happens when you get a flu shot? Well....

You will head to the window in the pharmacy at the back where you can pick up your usual prescriptions. The glass there is still foggy as it always is, only this time there's massive shadows standing behind the glass. A soft, feminine voice will politely ask if you are there for the flu shot. When you say yes, she will tell you to take a seat in the waiting room just to the left. The waiting room has two black cushioned chairs in the middle of it. There is a small fridge next to it. Upon opening it, you will discover a bunch of juice boxes in either Apple Juice or Grape flavor. A little sign on the front of the fridge welcomes you to enjoy one.

If you do, you'll find that it's delicious. And no, for once, there's not a catch. It's just really good Apple Juice. It'll be maybe one of the most satisfying things you'll have ever taken a drink of in your life, and you'll feel extremely rejuvenated for the rest of the day. Damn! What a wake up! Two women come into the room eventually. You don't manage to see the face of the blonde woman, and she busies herself with a metal tray, her back turned to you. You think you can hear some quiet sniffling from her? Was she crying....?

The other woman seems to be oblivious. She looks -- really ordinary, actually? Just an average sort of woman with short, cropped auburn hair and tired brown eyes. She looks to be somewhere in her mid-thirties and she gives you a tired smile. "Hello, dear....It's okay, you don't need to be afraid."

She's very soothing. The needle she takes from the blonde woman's tray is kind of intimidating. It's huge.

"Be an angel now. It will only hurt for a moment. Would you kindly hold out your arm, please. It'll only take a second."

For some reason, the moment the woman says this, no matter how frightened or unwilling you had been of the needle at first, you will begrudgingly let her give you the shot. It goes right into your bicep and takes a whole minute to inject.

It will hurt something awful no matter your pain tolerance. Your whole body will feel like it's been lit on fire, and oh, the nausea! You'll pass out no matter how sturdy of a person you are, but when you wake up, you'll find a pillow has been put under your head, a cold wash cloth on your forehead and one of the juice boxes next to you. Drinking the juice will make you feel better instantly- but if you don't? You'll spend the rest of the day feeling like you're already sick with the flu. Thankfully the next day you'll be fine again!

But yikes, that needle leaves a dark bruise on your arm! It'll be tender for days and leave an interesting bruise that...almost looks like chain links. Weird.

Glamours

Does the character have any influence on what the results of the glamour are? Is it the same all month or can they have a different glamour with every application?

This is a very flexible item. You can choose to have a character's personality influence what the outcome is or you can have it be completely random. A character could not specifically think "I want to look like Rapunzel" but if their personality lines up, then that might be the outcome anyway!

The differences may be up to you as well! If you would like your character stuck in one transformation, they can be stuck in one transformation. Or you can have it change from application to application.

The only catch is that if you do the latter, characters must wait until the application wears off entirely before reapplying for a new transformation. If they reapply while the transformation is still in effect, it will only make that same transformation last longer.

Nope it doesn't matter where you sign up. Flu shots technically can happen any time during September. We only put a secondary option of this for new players/characters to the game!

would glamoured characters gain a similar magical aura or scent to the fable they look like? for example, since bigby has a heightened sense of smell, would a character glamoured up to look like a wolf gain the scent of one as well or would they still smell human?

During the day, they would smell like a human, but at night they will smell like whatever it is they have transformed into!
