Up-Coming Mini Event: Location Unlock - The Boats (July 1)
CWs: Blood, minor blood sacrifice, feelings of immense anxiety, potential broken bones/bites of skin lost, potential effects from cold weather, implied torture. (Please be aware of these if you click the included links.)
What is being Unlocked: The Boats is an unlockable location found up the stairway to nowhere on Mt Rheum. Vira-Lorr, on the first of July, will get just enough of her mystical senses back that she'll be guided by them up the path and find a set of stable footholds in the side of the mountain leading to and between the boats.
When will this happen: July 1st EST. This will let everyone have time to enjoy the current event, allow any after-effects of the May/June event to fade and let folks know clearly what AC period this mini event will be during (For July's AC not June's.)
How may my character get involved: Vira-Lorr is suffering amnesia and her magic has only just barely returned. She barely remembers anything, and even with her 'pets,' she doesn't feel comfortable entering alone. So she will post a Network Message asking anyone who is interested to meet her at a location where she can show them the way in.
It does not matter who your character is. they can read her message or show up there by their own accidental wanderings after her and follow people going in. Anything is fine.
What will happen to my character: If you want them to join, feel free to have a look at the link above. If you need to ask the mods a question about the event, you may. Overall, the event involves a successive investigation of five separate boats, each one creepier than the last in different ways. Your character may be attacked by the monsters that lurk there, but it is unlikely that they will be killed, though a broken bone or two is possible (It's not impossible, however, if you want them to die there. At least one of the creatures is a bit hazardous.).
What's in it for my character:
1) Your character may receive a 'gift' in one of the boats. It is a creepy lantern staff. This may be taken out of the zone and kept with your character if you wish.
2) Your character may ask the NPC at the end of the zone One question as part of a group. This question may be about their canon, or about Deerington, and will be answered in traditionally vague yet blunt ways that likely give hints but do not truly and fully answer their question.
How does the question work exactly:
I have already asked the mods some questions here but you may also ask them for more clarification.
Short version - Each group asking a question in a thread may ask One question for the group. A character may be in multiple groups that ask a question, but they themselves may be the one to ask only once.
-Groups who intend to ask a question should confer amongst themselves OOCly (and ICly too because it's polite, though not necessary) and agree upon a question that is to be asked.
-You may officially ask a question about Deerington as a reply here once your group thread has started. Provide a link to the thread in question and the exact phrasing of the question. As the lady says, be specific!
How will the Log be displayed:
I will copy-paste the lovely log that was provided by the mods as best I can and post that log, along with a Network prompt by Vira-Lorr in the same log. You may create any prompts you wish about the content. Vira-Lorr will be participating obviously, and everyone is welcome to participate.
If, for any reason, you wish to participate in this mini-event but have opted out of interaction with me, that is fine. Just send me a small message via private message and I will make a note not to have Vira-Lorr reply to your character. This Unlock is intended to be available for everyone, after all.
