Event Sign-Ups Part. 2

SIGN-UPS ARE NOW CLOSED! ALL TEAMS OFFICIAL.

These are the teams from August's sign-ups. If you would like to switch a team, please just comment to the appropriate section below. If you do not want to switch teams, you don't have to do anything at all.

New characters will be able to sign up to a team as well.

The official teams will be updated to reflect official character sign-ups on September 13th. Sign-ups will then close. You cannot change teams once your character has been signed up unless there are extenuating circumstances (ie; you were accidentally placed on the same team as another character of yours or other such errors were made.)

Please contact a mod through a PM/Discord/Plurk message if you see any errors in the listed teams!

QUICK INFORMATION

Characters do not consciously sign up for teams- but that's okay, that's what you're here to do!

Teams do not need to work together. There will be benefits to teams that do work together, but you are allowed to have your character be in one team and help another. Additionally characters will not be required to participate in any of the team-driven aspects of the event.

Each team will be given certain advantages over other teams. These advantages can be read about down below. You can have advantages begin to take effect from the moment you sign up, or you can wait until the event has been posted. Advantages will last only as long as your character is in their team. Changing teams will result in changing advantages.

Your character can only maintain the advantages given to their team while they are on that team even if they decide to work with another team instead or decide not to do anything team-related at all.

Everyone's Fluid will change to the color of their team in order to help others identify who is on which team. These, of course, can be hidden.

Teams will be assigned specific items/etc during the August and September event that they will be able to access by using their Fluids as proof of their team memberships. These team-specific goods can technically be stolen by other teams.

THE TEAMS

These tables will be updated to reflect official character sign-ups on August 13th and again on September 13th.

Anyone who doesn't sign up by these dates will be randomly assorted. However if you have any problems with where you have been randomly placed, please send us a PM on Plurk, Discord, or here to let us know and we will fix it!

Characters who are signed up for the August round can officially change teams on September 1st. Another sign-up post will be made on September 1st identical to this one to keep track of new sign-ups.

If you wish to remain on the same team all the way through from August to September, then you don't need to do anything for the September round. We will assume people who haven't commented to the September post are not interested in changing teams.

TEAM ADVANTAGES

Anyone who is super powered will still receive the benefits listed under each team. Simply double whatever it is that the advantage may give them. So if your character is already strong? Now they are twice as strong as they already were. Everyone will feel an enhanced difference being on a specific team.

All teams have been given additional advantages and disadvantages for September! You still have whatever advantages/disadvantages from the month prior. You're welcome for the new gifts...and not-gifts.

The Bears - Color: Onyx

Members of the Bears will find that their regular strength is enhanced greatly. Maybe your character can now lift a car or uproot a tree- or do even more if they were already super-strong! They will also have extremely sturdy skin. It'll be tougher than usual to get through their hide! But it'll still be possible.

Members of the Bears will also discover that when they scream, they will be capable of sending out sonic blasts with said screams. It will also sound like- yup, you guessed it- a bear.

Violence is your accomplice.

Disadvantages: Bear members will have to rest a lot more than other teams. They will need to take more frequent breaks/naps/longer sleeps, and they will feel exhausted from using bursts of strengths right after.

New September Advantage: Bear members are given temporary healing abilities for the month of September. They can press their palms over injuries and broken bones and torn skin will bend itself in seconds. Unlike most healing abilities in Deerington, there don't seem to be any adverse side effects to this healing...Well...except...

New September Disadvantage: Smelling blood will completely disorient you. For other bear members, you'll feel dizzy and queasy over the smell of their blood...You might even be prone to passing out or getting sick. But if it's the blood of someone from another team? You'll find yourself growing more and more enraged, violent, and it'll take a damn good amount of control to stop you...

The Wolves - Color: Silver

Members of the Wolves will find that they have an abnormal calmness. They will not feel fear as easily as others, and in doing so, will be able to maintain rational thought. Members of the Wolves will also have extremely powerful bites now.

They will also discover that they can now communicate telepathically with their team mates- but only their team mates. They can hive-mind communicate or speak to one another one-on-one.

Unity is your new god.

Disadvantages: They will feel mentally disoriented if they are away from their other team members for too long. They will become easily confused.

New September Advantage: They will be able to find their own team members without having to rely on any communication, mental or otherwise. It will be instinctual to be able to locate another wolf member within a mile radius.

New September Disadvantage: Music can cause wolf members to fall into a trance, making them oblivious to things going on around them. They will stop what they're doing just to listen to any music- even if there's something awful hot on their heels about to kill them. Well thankfully there's no way spontaneous music will be playing at any point....! Right?

The Rabbits - Color: Gold

Members of the Rabbits will find that they are now much faster than they used to be. They are capable of darting gracefully and swiftly between trees. Rabbits will not need to eat as much as other teams- their food will sustain them for longer and they will not need as much when they do eat.

They will also discover that they are capable of detecting others from a long ways away through sound or vibrations felt through the ground. Their hearing is impeccable- some might even be able to hear heartbeats or conversations from long ways away. You also have incredible scent which can aid in finding food or detecting poisons.

Paranoia is your best friend.

The Disadvantages: You are the most physically vulnerable of the teams. Even if you were impervious before, you now aren't even remotely close to it. Your bones and skin break easier than they have ever before.

New September Advantage: Rabbit members will be capable of brief, prophetic visions. They will be able to see things before they happen. Alternatively, if they touch someone, they might get a glimpse of that person's past...Or even their future. These visions are short but vivid.

New September Disadvantage: Unfortunately when you're frightened abruptly, you now have freeze up for a few seconds...or a few minutes. Everything inside if you will feel like you have to run, run, run! But you won't be able to budge. Worst case scenario, someone has to actively work on calming you down...Good luck.

The Fish - Color: Sapphire

Members of the Fish will discover that they are now capable of breathing when submerged under water or other liquids. They are also quicker and far more elegant in the water and find that they do not need to drink as much as other teams.

They will also discover that their skin is sharp to the touch. This means that while although they might not be able to swing their usual punches, their skin can cut up just about anything and anyone without much effort. They can't cut up other fish members though. Beyond being sharp to the touch, their skin is also capable of blending into backgrounds.

Sneakiness is their comrade.

Disadvantages: Members of the fish team are physically weakened rather substantially from what they might regularly be used to. They suddenly struggle to lift heavy objects- but this doesn't mean they're vulnerable! They still might maintain their impervious nature from their regular powers, or they still might be able to fall out of a tree and be just fine.

New September Advantage: Fish members can now hypnotize those of opposite teams by holding eye contact for a few seconds. They can then give a single command that the hypnotized person will feel they must follow - even after the hypnotic stare has been dropped. This urge will only stop after the command has been met. Commands can be requesting an honest opinion or maybe telling a lie... or...more insidious. Like commanding the murder of someone you don't like. All players involved should be in agreement to the commands being given.

New September Disadvantage: Fish members will discover that they are no longer capable of feeling pain...or pleasure. They can't seem to feel much of anything at all. They might be able to feel the pressure of something against their bodies, but otherwise? Their nerve endings seem to be dulled significantly: maybe they're completely gone, or maybe they're just inconsistent.

The Falcons - Color: Diamond

Members of the Falcon team will discover that they can now fly. They can glide through the air - but they do need a good take off space for it. The Falcons are also completely immune to all poison.

They will also discover that they now have multiple new advantages to their eyesight. Falcons will be able to zoom in on things they are looking at with hyper focus, and they will be able to see thermal heat as well as perfectly well in the night.

Perspective is their ally.

Disadvantages: If they are made wet at all, they will find it very difficult to move and almost impossible to fly. Bathing will be a fairly vulnerable experience for them, and they will need to make sure they're in a safe place to do it!

New September Advantage: Falcon members are now capable of a "falcon screech" that can cause temporary blindness, deafness, and/or even severe mental disorientation and confusion. The longer they screech, the longer the impact will last. Effects from a falcon screech can last anywhere between one hour to one whole day.

New September Disadvantage: Falcon members now feel a bone-deep nesting urge. They will actively get upset and anxious and won't be able to focus if they don't have a proper "nest" somewhere in Deerington or the Dome. It will make them lash out and lose focus on basic tasks until they can get their nest together. It's an all-consuming task, but once they've done it, they'll feel substantially better....Just...Don't break a falcon's nest. Destroying a falcon's nest will result in a falcon briefly but violently losing their minds and they will attack anyone who dared to ruin their home.

General Information

You can go as hard with the advantages or disadvantages as you want. Maybe you want your character's lethargy as being a bear to be light and simple- or maybe you want them to pass out the moment after they have so much as lifted a tree.

This is, as always, really up to how you want to swing it!

All teams may grow attributes that are similar to the animals or gems that their teams represent. Maybe they grow onyx skin or rabbit ears- some might get wings or scales.

You may also have your character be capable of changing into said animals for a 24 Hour Period with a 5 hour break before transformations. This transformation can be done any way you want- whether body horror or Disney-sparkly transformation.

For the Wolves' disadvantage, what happens if a Team Wolf character is the one playing the music? Will they continue playing, entranced, rather than stop what they were doing in that situation?

Team Fish Hypnosis Commands

Would a hypnotized individual be required to understand the given command in order to carry it out, or would they still be compelled either way?

For Wrench: since ASL doesn’t obey the parameters of universal comprehension, can he command someone in ASL and have them not realize, yet still act on it? Is this a “players’ mutual discretion” thing? Just want to be safe in asking.
