soddersays | Player Plot - Deerington: A Very Special Musical Episode

Hello everyone! Chase on behalf of the Magicians cast with a bit of a laid back player plot that anyone who wants to be involved in can be! It's tradition in the Magicians TV show to have a musical episode every season and we figured we may as well extend this to the game itself for a laugh and a brief respite from all the terrible things happening to everyone's characters in this sleepy little horror town.

On March 5th the Magicians cast will be attempting a cooperative spell and their casting will go awry. The result will be anyone who wants to opt into the plot will have the compulsion to burst into song, with music (and maybe even background dancers) somehow accompanying them.

We left it pretty open so everyone can play around: your character can sing and dance and have it triggered by intense emotion, or just because you want them to while they're at their day job. The music can be literally anything--and whether or not your character sounds magically good or not is completely up to you! They'll just suddenly automatically know the words, dancing optional. You want your character to bust out a soulful tune because their feelings are hurt, or suddenly confess with a flowery ballad? Now's the time. Want your big macho man to start big band crooning? Looks like he can't help himself. If you want to opt out, the spell won't have affected your character.

Seriously, it can be anything from a sudden urge to sing David Bowie and Queen as a group number or just singing very poorly along to Taylor Swift by your lonesome.

The event will end on March 12.
