Welcome to the newest event! This is an exciting time and the event provides several chance encounters for your characters. Remember, everyone, all things in this game has consequences so don't think this will be the last you hear of this event.

Or maybe it will be. What do we know?

Summary of Event

Deerington is brought to war by the invasion of orcs and wargs, but they will have time to prepare their weapons and find horses to fight with. Robots and ents will aid in the battle. Ents will tell of a mysterious woman one can hope to find under the moonlight at the lake. This has opened up a memory event. The memory event is 100% optional and has to do purely with the origin story of Deerington. Please heed the warnings as the memory has many sensitive topics.

Event Prompts in summary:

Prompt 1: "See The World For What it Truly Is": The world goes black and white and characters must find themselves to restore to the color around them.

Prompt 2: "No Admittance Except on Party Business": Hobbits and the ravens throw a party on the Golf Course. People can find horses, weaponry, and armor there. They can also find fireworks and a lot of really good food.

Prompt 3: "They Come for Blood": Orcs and wargs come to fight Deerington and infest the Enchanted Forest.

Prompt 4: "The Enchanted Forest Prevails": Sleepers can find creepy centipede ladies and magical swords in the lake if they try hard enough.

Prompt 5: "The Trees Speak": Ents come to help fight wargs and orcs and forge alliances with Sleepers.

Prompt 6: "They Who Stand Guard": Robots stay behind in Deerington to keep people safe from wargs and orcs.

For the Lady of the Lake's gift, in the form of healing items - in Logan, there's a serum that can enhance mutant powers in small doses but can have various side effects in larger ones. Would it be okay to assume a kit of 3-4 vials would count as one item? Or should it only be 1 vial total.

2) She is going to be all over fighting the Orc battle. She's particularly going to be focused on trying to defend any kids/untrained Sleepers who have no means of defense. She'll also work with FEAR and ally with the Sleepers she knows are capable with fighting to come up with some sort of plan.

3) Huntress is also FOR SURE getting a horse during all this.

4) I am kind of considering the idea of having her get killed at some point in the onslaught, if anyone wants to participate in that.

Event Ideas: So first of all, Allura will definitely want in on the Mini Memory Event, so anyone who wants to go with her and/or meet at Lake Tomie to face the Pthumerian Queen and get some sweet game history, LMK.

That being said, for See The World For What it Truly Is, Allura will likely have moments in gray-scale herself, but will be able to help others/appreciate what they can of the things around them. To an extent. She is a little jaded after having been here for almost 2 years now.

No Admittance Except on Party Business - There is no reason not to attend a Hobbit party. Goodness. She will take part in some of the festivities but seeing weapons being forged, she will definitely want to visit the blacksmith. Also she may be slightly unsettled by the horses. She's got little to no experience with them, except for the Thestrals in the park. Please help her.

What Evil Lurks in the World - There's not much else to say other than kicking orc ass. Let's kick orc ass. Allura may not look like it but she's kind of a tank, so she's here to help.

The Trees Speak - Lastly since Allura was kind of communing with all the Kodama in the forest last month, I figure it makes sense that she would join up with the Ents too? So Ent Moot time and the battle for Isengard.

Color blindness- WELP. Charles is a PTSD riddled piece of shit so chances are he'll stay black and white for a really really long time. Eventually it'll freak him out so if anyone wants to... idk, take him to therapy and get him out of this noir hellscape that would be much appreciated.

The rest: I think I'll mostly focus on getting him settled this month, though he could be persuaded to go to the party out of sheer?? paranoia????

• PARTY: He will reluctantly go to the party and probably look a little grumpy. Feel free to approach and try to cheer him up;
• COLOR BLINDNESS: Leonard will be afflicted with it, and he'll be freaking out inwardly about it while trying to figure out what's wrong. I am all here for him checking up people's eyes/brains either at the hospital or anywhere else to try and figure out what's wrong;
• ORC BATTLE: He's not a fighter but a healer, so he's going to be staying back and setting up some kind of emergency spot along the edge of the city, near the forest. He'll help anyone who comes out of the forest wounded. I'm up for him helping people out, pairing up with other medical types that want to team up with him, and possibly have him be forced to fight an orc or a warg that might make it closer to the edge of the forest and sneak up on him/his patient. Or someone can save his ass when he's attacked?? Anything can happen here.

Event Ideas:

See The World For What it Truly Is

I'm very interested in playing around with this one, especially since Gee might have a lot of problems with finding himself when he doesn't remember who he used to be. Anyone that's interested in convincing him that who he was isn't as important as who he is now would be really amazing CR. Otherwise, he'll be walking around very sad and greyscale for a while. Especially as I think he would be very good at bringing color back to the world in general: he has a very keen appreciation for the world and most things in it, especially little pleasures like reading a book or sitting in a garden or a perfect cup of coffee. I can imagine things around him will gain color before he does.

Gee is pretty quirky and I think he'd be a good person to help people find themselves, if that makes sense. He sees value in a lot of things, even if it's not obvious, and so if you need anyone to talk up your character, he might be the one to do it.

They Come for Blood

OKAY so Gee is kind of a weird fighter, in that he relies a lot on magic and guile rather than outright physical force (though he can if he has to). His magic in Deerington occasionally misfires, so if anyone wants to be involved in fighting alongside him, particularly in the Enchanted Forest, that could be something fun to play with.

The Enchanted Forest Prevails

I'm here for creepy monsters and magical swords. Anyone wanting to adventure into the Enchanted Forest with someone that has a handle on magical things and a very low sense of self-preservation in search of knowledge, step right up.

The Trees Speak

Ents! Gee is all about digging up information and he is willing to sit through long, boring conversations to do it. I'm definitely interested in him trying to find out more about the history of Deerington/Sodder as much as he can with the tree folk. He is vaguely suspicious of them because there are some elements about him that remind him of the Gentry, but they are way less eldritch horror so he'll get over it.

Mini-Memory Event

THIS SEEMS SO COOL and right up Gee's alley. Since he will absolutely be following the advice of the Ents, he has every reason to head into this event. He has no qualms with waltzing into a giant dead body or fighting creepy magic opponents - in fact, this might be his time to shine. When it comes to magical battles, Gee can actually be pretty ruthless, so if there are party members that have any qualms about fighting the character described in the event post, this could be a really interesting bit of CR building/destroying. There is literally nothing about this that will make him hesitate if it means getting information.If anyone's interested in forming a party to go check this out, please let me know.

Gray World He's going to have some trouble at first seeing himself in color, but people can help convince him of his self worth maybe. Not sure. He'll slowly start seeing himself in color. But he will gladly help turn the world to color again!

Party He's basically a hobbit, right? He'll blend in! He'll get shuffled in to get some leather armor and a short sword too, because he's a kid and he's curious. It's all Dwarf sized anyhow. And my what a story to tell with it later. Pondering a horse, but unsure still.

Orcs Battles He's going to try and stay home or around a robot when he can. But with his little hobbit sword, he's going to accidentally kill a orc, if anyone wants to witness this. I'm thinking it's terrorizing him and he manages to get a bit mauled but the sword goes in and kills the thing on mistake? Still considering it, but I want him to kill something so he can be upset by it. Mostly he's staying safe, but i want to maul him a bit.

He's staying out of the Forest now. This month is too much for him to go back to it. Lol

Desired CR: All types! Friends, drinking buddies, found family, kids for her to secretly mom, folks with supernatural/demon-type experience.
Unwanted CR: Not super negative CR (unless there's an event-motivated reason behind it) but I'd be more than okay with her having a frenemy or someone she gently butts heads with on occasion. She's also happily spoken for in the romance department.

Event Ideas: The two things I want to do most of all with Wynonna this month are the color plot and the golf course party; she just wants to have a good time, okay, and she'll probably be making a lot of bad Lord of the Rings jokes because she's not a total Tolkien nerd. But I'm really into the idea of her either trying and failing (or, remarkably, succeeding) to help someone get their color back via helping them find their inner sense of self-appreciation or just hanging out and enjoying the fireworks with people. It's going to be another light month. Maybe she'll see if one of the people making weapons would be willing to give her a sword because, uh, as seen above, she looks real badass with it.

Desired CR: All kinds! Friends, artists or artistically-inclined individuals, fellow survivors of supernatural or spoopy events, fellow werewolves/anyone who might be able to sense that she's one or something not entirely human.
Unwanted CR: Not super negative CR (unless there's an event-motivated reason behind it) but I'm game for her to have the occasional conflict with someone or that person in her life that she just can't seem to say the right things around, especially if it keeps happening while she's under the influence of something that would make her more likely to speak her mind. She's also covered in terms of romance.

Event Ideas: Color encouragement for sure; she's working on trying to acknowledge her own sense of value but sometimes her self-confidence isn't always at its peak, so she'll probably be starting out as one of the folks in greyscale until she manages to get a pep talk from someone else and then she'll be in more of a position to pass on the positive reinforcement to another friend, keep the feelgood chain going. Other than that, I'd love some golf course party hangouts and maybe, just maybe, someone might be interested in a werewolf with red fur rescuing them from the orcs or wargs?

Desired CR: Everyone! She hasn't fully outed herself as a toy like some of her compatriots have, so she'd be more inclined to openly befriend non-human CR at the start while staying relatively incognito the rest of the time. I would also love, love, love her to meet more kids who are open to playing with her, because she's a toy who secretly loves that even now.
Unwanted CR: Not super negative CR (unless there's an event-motivated reason behind it). She's also got her heart on lock for a certain gangly sheriff, so romance isn't in the cards either.

Event Ideas: This girl is going to start off in color, lbr, but she is on hand for any pep talks that folks might be in need of for them to regain their more colorful sides again. Now that she's starting to have more out-in-the-open interactions in Deerington, she's willing to let herself be seen, although she's still more comfortable with one-on-one interactions rather than just walking around within a large group. She'll still make an appearance at the golf course party and will probably, at some point, win herself a weapon from the lady of the lake, as well as talk to the ents. But she's going to actively take more of a role supporting friends and other close CR this month, for the most part.

Her Top Level: It was easy to write for her - Hop in if you want.

Event Ideas:
-Vira Lorr is taking a pass on the Raven's party for IC reasons. She's in her element, and she doesn't need their help. She will, however, be polite and thank them for the invite and direct kids their way.
-She won't be at home a lot this month. She's out being hero. I'm handwaving that a robot is in her front lawn keeping the orcs at bay.
-She is, very much, in her element. This may be Tolkein, but it's basically her bailiwick. She will be fighting pitched battles, backed up by a magic slinging fairy chicken, an Absol, whatever Ents she can convince to help her out and... YOU! Expect her to issue commands, say things like flanking maneuvers or the like. She is openly out to protect and save anyone and everyone she can and will take all the help she can get.

SPECIAL NOTE: Sometime around the very absolute end of May or early June, Vira-Lorr is expected to die in the Enchanted Forest. I will be buying off her Deerington memory loss and sickness again this time around, so she will deal with aches for the month, sleepwalking and sensory dep (Sense of Touch) for the next five months. I won't be buying off her memory loss from home, however. She'll remember her skills, but nothing else from there, so she'll continue the fight but all of that tactical know-how will be gone. (Admittedly, the orcs will be thinning out by then so it should be fine.).

This does, however, mean that she'll be out of commission from about June 1-7. Just a heads up.

Event Ideas:
-Larxene's going to be out and about, getting her anti-hero on. She'll be having fun with folks, getting into fights and picking them. I'm going to have her do this more through 'tag in' than tag out this month, but hey. If you want a top level, let me know.
-She'll spend some time at the party, so if you're wanting her weird sort of humor there, let me know.

This event is less her 'thing' than it is Vira-Lorr, but it's certainly up her alley. I'm going to be angling her more towards already established CR, but I'm open to new ones.

Expect something else to come up this month. I intend to buy her a Surprise Gift with the points she's finally saved up enough for. She'll be asking for a Stabilizing Gem, but that's not what she's getting because I'm not giving her that.

- Neo has a separate, very stupid plot that's about to come to pass. It involves yet another unsuccessful plot to kill Ruby and those enchanted books you've heard so much about. It's there if you want something light-hearted and dumb.
- Neo may involve herself in the fighting if I see close CR wanting her presence, but I won't be doing a top-level in this case for the Orcs. On the other hand...
- I'm going to do a top level for the party and for color stuff. She's a good option for this type of thing, and it gives me a chance to explore the rest of the event.

• Color-wise, Felix is going to monochrome for a week and a half or so... and he's going to be real annoyed about that, so. We shall See how that goes. I'm down for people seeing him all grey and gross and being like, oh, so you don't love yourself, huh? well.


• Felix will be at the party... probably standing on the sidelines, looking real grumpy about everything because that's his hobby. He does know how to dance, though! He's a noble lad... someone please pull him out on the dance floor.


• The Blacksmith. Boy! Felix is going to be hanging around here most of the time, because Felix lives—lives—for quality weaponry?? He's a master swordsman, so he is here to tell you you're holding that sword wrong, that sword is the wrong length for you, why are you swinging it like that??? Gosh! He's also halfway decent with a bow, so points at eyes, points at y'all, if you need a ye olde weaponry teacher! This ye olde is HERE! We can even start some CR and handwave the actual lessons, tbh. Make it a recurring thing! Just know that he's a tough teacher.


• Felix is down to fight these orcs, since he's already spent the past, what, five years fighting in a war. Same old, same old! Fighting is what he's good at, so he'll be out and about doing whatever needs to be done. He's a bit of a lone wolf, so naturally I'm here to offer him for any team-ups? Just know that he's going to stubbornly refuse to use anything but his cool sword. >:/ He'll also help anyone who needs help! Save anyone who's in a bit of a bind! He will protect you... and then give you shit about it, tbh, but listen. It's Concern.

•Due to teenage drama his self worth is at an all time low, so he'll be grey for the entire month. Sorry friends and fam, he's trash. The only thing he'll be able to give colour to are his swords, which will remain green.

•Also due to teenage drama he will be throwing himself into killing anything and everything he can get his hands on, so he's available for fighting orcs, wargs, centipedes, and the Pthumerian Queen.

•For the Pthumerian Queen, Fern lives next to Lake Tomie, so it would be hilarious if someone dies while fighting her and washes up on shore and he can wtf over it.

•He'll only stop by the party to get a weapon and armour for hoarding purposes. He's not in a party mood so if anything wants him attending they'll have to drag him to it.

•He's going to be getting the family demon blood sword back! Sorry to all demons.

I'm especially interested in Credence exploring his monster stuff (he can more or less control the obscurus transformation now bc he has that gem! let's talk!), anything with deeper emotional consequences, and dealing with gender/sexuality things that he's still figuring out.
Unwanted CR: Negative CR just for the sake of it being negative CR. I'm here for negative stuff, let's just have a reason and an arc to it!

Event Ideas:
See the world: Up for someone to help Credence see worth and beauty in himself to get his colour back! He won't be likely to do this on his own at all. We can do any level of acceptance/self-respect etc here! I'm limiting this to ONE person so I can really focus on it.

Party business:
Not sure how I want to do this yet. I don't want to thread party stuff specifically but I'm going to handwave Credence getting a black horse (he's too tall for a pony). He'll also get a sword but he doesn't know how to use it! Help him out?

Credence is likely to fight using the obscurus power more than a sword and I'm always here to have people see this happen!

Event Ideas:

Logan's going to be Noir Cut for a while, because what is self appreciation when you have his levels of baggage. But I'd like to play around with getting some of his closer CR to help him pop back into color. Or watch him drag it out. I'd like this to be something of a start for Logan finally submitting to giving life another go - and thus trying to put some effort into accepting himself, accepting being alive, etc. So for that it'll be helpful to have some CR around for it!

He's not going to be super chill about hanging with Hobbits but he'll probably be persuaded to/to stay around while looking at weapons and armor with vague nostalgia about suiting up for other wars he's been in. Not sure whether or not he'll take a horse, or at least keep it, but he'll probably putter around with taking care of them in the stables while avoiding the fireworks.

Annnnd he'll probably be pulled into the orc fighting though I'd like to have someone kinda realize after a point he needs to Stop and try to convince him to, etc. He might be a little boosted in comparison to how he arrived but he still wears down and needs to take breathers and focus on not being overtly offensive.

See the world:
Up for someone helping Jonathan and/or him helping them with the colour thing. He will definitely be returning colour to the town by appreciating things via his camera lens. Imagine, taking a picture and then it develops in colour and the thing it is of does so at the same time. COOL, RIGHT?

Event Ideas: scott's just come back from a canon update that put him right at the beginning of endgame so he's kind of a sad mess. the two things i'm going to be focusing on for him (and all of mine tbh), are colors and the party. scott's going to be speckled with color but, whereas he'd have been all full blown color in the past, he won't be getting his color back so easily. he will absolutely help anyone he knows get colorful again but he could use some help there.

he'll also go to the party and maybe end up as a vampire oops just to make his life a little hard. we'll see.

Event Ideas: amos is also just back from a canon update and he came back blind so he is NOT in a good mood. he will be aggressive and a little more touchy than usual. my main focus with him will also be the color plot. amos, despite appearances, doesn't really give a damn about himself. he thinks of himself as a weapon to be used and will follow those that need to use him. he questions his ability to be empathetic and is really severely affected by his past. but, he will try and appreciate other people especially if he knows them. if he doesn't, it'll be harder because he can't see.

he'll also stop by the party at least to drink and stumble around blindly lol.

• NO ADMITTANCE EXCEPT ON PARTY BUSINESS: Any excuse to have Barry dress in a tux! He's going to try (and fail) at getting drunk, which is something anyone can notice since he'll be slamming those drinks back. He's definitely going to be looking at weapons, maybe getting something medieval stitched up because Barry loves this!!!, and maybe go horse riding??? Let's say he doesn't know how to ride a horse. Katherine is all about coming off super confident but she has 500+ years of self-loathing and hatred that she keeps buried deep down inside, so it'd be great to have her turn grey and have people try to appreciate her since she's always spoken down to in canon! She's also available for appreciating others, although note that she'd be pretty blunt about it. If she doesn't know the person, expect super bluntness.
  
  
• NO ADMITTANCE EXCEPT ON PARTY BUSINESS: She loves parties and dancing! Sign her up. I'm going to give Katherine some medieval dresses and weapons, and have her go horse riding since she hasn't done that in 500 years. The medieval stuff is very much her jam because she's originally from the Middle Ages, so see this hottie looking super comfortable around this stuff!

Color
Martin is pretty good at appreciating things. People are a little harder for him these days, but he'll probably be able to help with stuff around town. His own self-worth issues are baked in, so he'll be grayscale for a while, even while trying to encourage self-love in others. If anyone wants to have a 'you're awesome, just believe in yourself'-type thread or two, that would be sweet.

Party
Martin... is gonna get some basic armor for himself and encourage others because WAR SOUNDS BAD??? He's a little terrified of trying to ride a horse, but a gray one is going to hop a fence and follow him around. Lemme know if you want to do a thread of Martin and maybe your character both getting harried by horses who have claimed them.

Orcs
Martin will be working to barricade his house after the first orc attack. He actually got supplies for reasons exactly like this! He's not a fighter, so he won't be going into the forest to fight orcs. He'll also want to see about setting up traps at the edge of town for the orcs, so if you have an engineering/building/clever-type character, maybe they can work together?

Lady of the Lake/Forest
Martin will probably miss out on this unless someone pulls him into the forest. He doesn't want to deal with the orcs in there.

Ents
Martin is a patient bean, so he'll be able to get to the Woman in White. It's info he'll pass along to anyone who's seeming to be frustrated by the Ents.

Robots
Martin is going to try to save a robot from orcs/wargs that are piling in on it and desperately need help, if anyone would like to throw in to assist him!

1. See The World For What it Truly Is: So Jeff's still being afflicted by the Witch of the Waste's curse, which ties in nicely with this prompt! Being a big optimistic hippie is going to come in handy, as he'll be like a COLOR PLAGUE, spreading color all over the place. Except for himself (womp womp). He's carrying a lot of self loathing and unresolved guilt stemming from his younger self, so the fact that he's still cycling between 20 and 44 during all of this will be a prime opportunity to actually Deal With His Shit and grow as a person.
   
   So if anyone's interested in pointing out how he's conspicuously monochromatic while bringing color to other things and calling him on his shit, or otherwise helping him see his worth, I'd love to get something going!
   
   
2. No Admittance Except on Party Business: He'll probably be hanging out at the party and embracing the REN FAIRE REALNESS because it's fun and he wants to have fun and oh god it's also super alarming, because they're talking about war and people are getting fitted for armor and ALL HE WANTED WAS A TURKEY LEG-- anyway. 3. The Trees Speak/They Who Stand Guard: Jeff's way too useless to have anything to do with Prompt 3 and Prompt 4, but he's good for a support role. I figure he's patient and empathetic enough to talk with the ents and listen to their very... long... slow.... meandering... stories, and he'll probably have a robot chilling in his lawn, making his house useful for a safe haven, for any characters who need it. SUPPORT DAD IS HERE TO HELP.
   
   
4. Memory Event: I have no specific plans here, but since Jeff will definitely be talking with the ents at length, he is going to head to the lake during the full moon and poke around. I'd love for him to hook up with a group and explore this event! He's not really useful in a fight, but he's a magic dude, and this could be a great opportunity for him to suck it up and fight back against a monster. Or totally die in the process. (He needs to at least get a totally gnarly injury, okay!!)
