Player Mini-Plot & Story Clue - 6/19 (CW listed below)
Alright, fellow Deer enthusiasts. I put in for a Story Clue a little while back and it's come back to me, and it's a bit of a hum-dinger. Now, because it sounds like we have a busy, plot-centered month in July, and also because I know folks are enjoying the pixie thing, I'm going to try and slot this in cleanly between the two without taking steam away from the July Prelude on June 19th at 6:00 PM EST, give or take. So, yes, tomorrow.
However, I think that this may be a story-related clue that a good number of you might want to be involved with, and because of the nature of this clue and how it impacts a 1 mile spread around Neopolitan when it goes off, anyone in Deerington is welcome to participate. This event is Opt-In but because of its radius anyone can opt-in. However, this one comes with some very Deerington Trigger Warnings:
(CONTENT WARNING: nudity, neglect and abuse of a woman, suggestion of blood rituals, fourth walling suggestions.)
So, yeah, keep those in mind. I'll put the plot info here in a cut and there will be a public log posted to make the plot available for those who wish to opt into the event/clue with the same CW's listed.
When is this Happening: 6/19/2020 around 6 pm EST
Who Can Participate: Anyone within 1 mile of Neopolitan when she lights the candle.
Do I need to interact with Neopolitan/be aware she is involved: Nope. Other than lighting the candle and experiencing it herself/reacting later on the network? Neopolitan is not further involved.
Where does this Happen: Anywhere in Deerington. Prepare to get drenched with pink candle wax and have horrible visions.
Can I handwave participating to get the info: Sure, if you don't want to scene it out, I don't see why not. Go ahead, but there will be an Open-Log for participants to thread with that I'll set up tomorrow. I will only tag people myself who I already know are ok to tag with my characters. Any of my three are available for this if you prefer not Neo.
(Or, if for example you are a player who has opted out from interacting with me, and you'd like to participate in the clue but don't feel like being anywhere near me, go ahead and start your own log up, or handwave away. I'm fine with either. The clue's for anyone who wants it. My involvement is only if you desire that.)
Yeah, but What's Happening: This is happening - Again, keep a note of the Content Warnings here.
The Short version is that, tomorrow pink candle wax may randomly drip on your character's face from nowhere, smelling first of chocolate and vanilla, and then of blood. Yay! Yum! it takes you to a vision inside of someone's skull (possibly Mother Superior's... yay?) where you can have a quick chat with Cynthia Sodder. This chat has intense fourth-wall implications about the situation that our characters are in within Deerington, though it is still nothing more than a tantalizing hint, not all the facts.
This event 'can' be repeated, and Neopolitan may choose to do so in the future, if she feels it is necessary to do so. However, for the moment this is a one-time event. I'll post the log up tomorrow, and at some point in the next week Neopolitan will be reacting on the network to this and to another small revelation she received at the Boats. Likely on the 21st. But that's a separate thing
