Character Name: Rupert Giles

Residence in Deerington: Clarke Acres
Day to Day Activities: Often at the library, college, or Book Shop.

About This Character: The Mentor Character. Giles is an expert on all things supernatural; his job is to train the Vampire Slayer. Picture a posh British middle-aged dad, then give him a library of ancient tomes and a couple of advanced degrees in whatever sounds esoteric and spooky. Adopts wayward teens with incredible speed. Can be counted on to look fondly exasperated about your Wacky Teen Drama, beg you to spare him the gory details, and make you a nice cup of tea.

Any Warnings: Just the standard violence, monsters, and murders. The canon loss/death of his practically-daughter, Buffy, may come up.

Present Life: The college librarian! Getting settled into the madness of town and pulling together resources from the various sources in town: books, notes on past events, assorted medieval weaponry.

Future Ideas: So I apped Giles, promptly went on a month-long hiatus, & then kicked off a month of Jon Sims insanity. LET'S TRY AGAIN. I might like Giles to find some kind of "home base" location closer to the center of town, since he lives out at the fringes; he might like to pick up a different job (Book Shop? anything magic-related?), or lean into his College Librarian one. He doesn't have magic of his own, but can use other people's external sources of power, like magic items or rituals that work in Deerington. And I'd like him to adopt a squad of largely Good-aligned young people, as he do.

CR You Want: Research buddies! Fellow sensible adults! Young people (especially the monster-fighting sort) to form a found family with! Nonhumans and folks of grey morality for him to distrust! And more.

I definitely need to get some spooky CR with you! If Jon ever needs to uh... feed on more people, I can offer Peter at some point, for some fun... demon possessed...... flavour:'D

I also think he and Giles could be interesting, re: wayward teens & the supernatural. Peter's learning a bit more about his demon, but he could use any and all potential insight, tbh. Interestingly enough, Paimon would also be interested in learning from him, but I don't know how Giles would be with.... helping a demon king of Hell out....

kind of on the back of Jhey, but Luna and Giles should absolutely meet. Especially with her making a bond/pact with Paimon.

She's been doing a lot of research on Paimon herself, but having some support from adults who deal with the supernatural would be really good for her! So yes, Good-aligned young person over here! uwu
