JUNE 2018 GAME EVENT 2 PLOTTING POST

Welcome to the newest event! This is an exciting time and the event provides several chance encounters for your characters. Remember, everyone, all things in this game has consequences so don't think this will be the last you hear of this event.

Or maybe it will be. What do we know?

If you would like to plot or plan for any encounters, feel free to use the form below and post around! Have fun with this event. Use it to explore whatever you like of the town or make IC connections. Enjoy!

Remember: This month does require 20 points of your overall AC to be horror-centric! Horror-centric means that your character must, in some way, be impacted by something horror in the game's setting. It does not need to be through the month's plot. They cannot just be talking about something scary, but actually engaging with one of the many horror elements within the game, whether that's exploring a creepy part of the forest, encountering a monster, boarding up windows against a monster attack, facing psychological horror, etc. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to ask.

[ N.B Those who have me on plurk are aware that a series of unfortunate events (badoom ching), saw me offline again for a few weeks :| I know there were a bunch of people I'd chatted about doing things with last month and while I can happily delve into some backtagging, please do come at me for this month instead, if you prefer. ]

Character Name: Scarlett Harker
CR Wanted: This is probably the only time you will ever see Scarlett in a dress so... clearly everyone should interact with her at some point, for my own post-event amusement.
CR Not Wanted: Does not compute
Ideas for obtaining horror points:
- Scarlett gets pulled into the ground by one of the statues. As somebody who is afraid of confined spaces, this is pretty well her worst nightmare.
- Spider-smash.
- So those dudes with their crimes hanging around their neck? Scarlett will be extremely lacking in self-control when they start going into gruesome detail. Just sayin.
- Choose your own horror-venture?
Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:
- Really keen to have some fun with the various drinks. In particular; Gold (Truth) Silver (Lies) & Black (Flirt). - Scarlett is too serious. Some mind altering concoctions is a great way to expand her CR in various (and lbr, amusing) ways.
- If you'd like a glimpse of Scarlett's past, I can go for some Clockwork Theater. Truthfully, her most traumatic events involve the death of others, not the near death of herself but I have a few scenarios I can throw out for this.
- Some survival horror/struggling against the elements? Due to her fast healing, its hard to play around much with injuries but long-term exposure to the cold would mess with her because she doesn't need to heal so much as she needs to stand against the elements.

i would love for tony to see scarlett in a dress because that's going to be different. 100% here for him helping her out of a sticky situation and maybe acquiring a sense of how their rhythm flows since they're going to have been working together for a while now.

All right, we could go funny with it with some black drinks, if only so when they next meet they would be full of regret

but we could also go with the unmasking? Rei has some memories related to snow fall that aren't very happy, and I bet neither of them are wearing shoes meant for walking in snow. So they could investigate the unmasked world...

and if you want one of them doing something stupid...I guess one of them could try to pull the other off of one of the man crimes? mostly because I'm pretty sure if either one are determined, Scarlett more then Rei, that man would not be getting up again.

Seth is also shooting to kill the assholes with signs around their necks if you'd rather them meet there. OR he can find her getting pulled into the ground as he goes for a breather after his 'clock' event?

CR Wanted: friends and allies, women to flirt with (it won't go anywhere beyond that), people for Bucky to keep safe or who will keep Bucky safe
CR Not Wanted: I'm not really looking for seriously negative cr since there's already so much character vs. environment conflict, but if it happens organically and is interesting I'd still be down for it, anyway.
Ideas for obtaining horror points:
-One of Bucky's many traumatic memories playing on the clock stage
-getting pulled underground by the garden statues or helping someone else who's been pulled under or running from them before they get close
-post-unmasking exploration of the bar, restaurant, the ground or the rest of deerington
-hedge maze
Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:
-dancing with women (this is probably something we can handwave in favor of threading out something else for the event after they've danced. he'd probably humor a man if he was asked by them, too, but he wouldn't flirt as much.)
-Interested in maybe playing with the truth or the lies drinks. Probably the truth one is more interesting to me. If someone else wants their character to drink the flirt one and flirt with Bucky, I would be absolutely cool with that, too

(I'm down for basically anything in this event, save for the eating/drinking drinks.)

I know I've mentioned it on plurk but we should take the beginning of the night to have a lighthearted flirty thread. Maybe thread-out where they meet again, handwave through dancing and then they walk around to catch their breath and either run into the clock or the garden statues? Or something like that. I think light hearted for these two will be fun since their first meeting had been super serious and that thread is getting to a good natural end

Character Name: Majima Gorō
CR Wanted: Majima's recently joined F.E.A.R., so if your character needs an assist with a monster or merely the freezing cold, I'm into it! That aside, some ideas include:
- Playing with drinks, I plan on offering truth, lies, and flirting as options
- Majima's a great dancer, so he'll absolutely be on that ballroom floor. If your character's a little inexperienced, that's fine too! He will not make them feel bad about it.
- Majima pretty much always tools around in a tux, so this is ur chance to catch him in a fancy-ass yukata. His costume is actually a bit of a hint as to his inner character; I don't know if any non-Japanese characters would really get the Hannya thing, but it might be a good opportunity to do some research if they're interested in that kind of analysis.
- Speaking of insights into his character, the clock will be replaying for him a scene in from his past in which he was kind of gutted by someone he loved turning to revenge. Depending on the situation, though, he might just walk off because N O P E.

Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:
- I'd enjoy a good low-key dancing or flirting thread where the characters vibe well together!
- As always, I'm into anything that feeds into slow-build, complex CR
- ...but I'm also aLL ABOUT THE ACTION
- And it'd be nice to play out the clock scene with someone who can identify with guilt/pathos or has been faced with some unfortunate personal choices.

CR Wanted: EVERYTHING! I am so excited for this event and will have a top post. I have some ideas below but I am honestly excited for all of the prompts so let me know if you'd like to do something else :D

Ideas for obtaining horror points:

~ Unmasking ~ Justine is probably going to start all of this craziness while being very high and or out of it. It'll take her longer to realize that something is wrong because she'll see the imprint of what's there. If someone wants to stop her from eating/doing something that will potentially hurt her, this is the time, or try and talk some sense into her.
~ Bloody interaction ~ If she runs into one of the tortured men cleaning up she'll most likely attack them to the point that her lovely white dress is covered in blood and she might not stop unless someone pulls her away.
~ Frozen ~ Justine will go outside though I don't know if she'll go through the maze unless compelled. Which seems to be the theme. She is very smart but will be too out of it to help and this will most likely lead to her dying or someone saving her ass if anyone is interested in either outcome. I'm open to both and think that it can be interesting.

Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:

~ Dance partners ~ I'd love for Justine to find someone to dance with before everything goes crazy, perhaps as a Segway into something horror-ish/intense that way the scene starts light and can continue to build with tension.
~ Drinks ~ I'm thinking that Justine will drink the Gold (Truth), Silver (Lies) or Black (Flirt) drink. ~ The Clock ~ There is a part in Justine's canon when she's attacked by vampires and it's kind of intense. If anyone is interested in seeing that, Justine will most likely run from the blood and find a place to get high or pop-pills. It'll trigger her illness and she might lash out at anyone who approaches her until she can calm down.

RANDOM NOTE: Her dress is going to be white and very lacy/revealing. Not at all meant for snow.

CR Wanted: meeting people, especially those more familiar with the place and possible situations that can help her learn as she goes.
CR Not Wanted: i don't necessarily want negative CR so much as to see how she interacts with other people; this can lead to positive or negative CR, but since she's so new i mostly just want to see where things go.
Ideas for obtaining horror points:
- a memory playing on the clock stage
- underground statues, running from or helping out
- general exploration, both pre and post unmasking
Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:
- dancing/possible flirting (we can handwave the dancing part if you'd prefer)
- possibly helping out those who had been drinking/in the garden

if anyone's got any other ideas, let me know! i'm not interested in character death just yet and i feel like she'd avoid drinking or eating while there, but she'd be willing to help out those who did partake in either.

Character Name: Adam Parrish
Top-Level for the Event
CR Wanted: All! He has one canon-mate in game, but he's brand new and needs to meet some people.
CR Not Wanted: All CR wanted.
Ideas for obtaining horror points:
Disassociation: Adam's power warping causes him to be extremely attuned to the event, so that he behaves eerily as though he is a part of the event rather than a participant in it. If anyone brings to his attention that he is acting strangely cheerful (pre-unmasking) or that he's dreamlike and spacey (post-unmasking), he will experience disorientation and horror that he's not in full control of himself. Dealing with a creepy teenager who seems a little too in tune with the event may be an unnerving experience for others, too.
Clock: Adam will be experiencing the unpleasantness of the clock, which will include some content warnings for child abuse (physical), hearing impairment, and post-traumatic stress.
Garden Statues: Adam will be hanging around the garden statues, and since he's unaffected by them, characters may think that the area is safe. Adam will not warn people or interfere with them being dragged underground, but he can and will rescue them after they are fully buried.

Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:
*Dance! Adam will be offering dances to just about anyone regardless of gender and mostly regardless of age (he won't approach children under ten or adults more than twice his age). His power warping means that he's picking up the mood of the event a little too much, so that means it's his job to make sure everyone's having fun! Come dance with him.

*Maze Guide Adam's attunement with the event means that he will be able to serve as a guide or aid to characters for several sections of the event. He can guide one group through the maze, but once he's made it to the center he will stay there, so he's only useful as a guide for one character/group. If people would like to coordinate joining Adam's maze group or would like to be rescued along the way, I'd love that. Also, Adam won't be telling anyone that he can guide them through the maze, and is not consciously aware of it, but if encouraged to choose the paths, he will unerringly lead them on the shortest route to the center. Daemon Sadi has already picked up Adam as maze guide, but his player and I are open to other people joining the group, just reach out to one of us if you want to coordinate.

Eddie Kaspbrak

Character Name: Eddie Kaspbrak
CR Wanted: Everything. Literally. Meeting more people. Eddie's surprisingly pretty adaptive in horror-settings because duh so he'll be pretty mobile during the Unmasking.
CR Not Wanted: None that I can think of.
Ideas for obtaining horror points:
✩ Eddie's shine has specifically to do with navigation so he is absolutely going to be able to solve the maze no problem. Also his canon pretty much sets him up for willingness to bleed some blood for a better purpose so that too. If anyone wants to join him on that, you can see Eddie in his element of being thoroughly legit.

✩ Clockwork Show: Eddie's canon is...awful. He has a lot of traumatic experiences. However I'd probably lean more to him seeing other people's clockwork show just because he JUST went through reliving his trauma in explicit detail.

✩ Eddie might have a bit of a breakdown realizing he might of had a drink of something disgusting in the bar.

✩ Overall exploration in unmasking so definitely let me know if you want to explore anything.

✩ Eddie will be particularly upset and bothered by the criminals in the restaurant. Especially the ones that are pedophiles, he'll actively look sick to his stomach and freaked out cause that is ..straight up triggering for him.

Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:
✩ He is 100% going to sneak a drink or two at the bar because why not. He might try the black drink for a little bit of confidence/cutesy innocent kid flirting with boyos his own age.

✩ Please drag him into a dance. This is for everyone because lbr it'll be fucking adorable.

✩ I'd also be fine with experiencing some of that truth drink too and possibly lie? Not against it at all.

-A memory playing on the clock stage- I have an idea in mind for this from Natasha's pov, but I'm down for her witnessing someone else's!
-Murdering the criminals trapped in the dining room
-Spider fighting!!

The only thing I'd like to avoid is character death 🤔 but I'm pretty open otherwise, if there's anything you'd like Natasha for! Flirting probably won't go past that, and she'll dance with most people who ask.

CR Wanted: Anyone and everyone. Meeting new people, getting to know the people she's met, making friends, people who can make fun of her for not knowing how to cook...at least that's the general bit.

For the masquerade itself, she's adaptable, being a character from a horror setting; hence why I was so horrible to her with the various open prompts. me doing horrible things to my character oh nooo I don't know what you meaaaan

In all seriousness, she'll be looking for various people to do a range of things with, which'll mostly be covered in the horror section :>

Ideas for obtaining horror points:

-Wandering around after the unmasking: there's a heck of a lot of things to dabble in here, depending on what route people want to take. Rei is more likely the investigative type, but she could end up being prodded into violence?

-The Clockwork She has been straight up coming from traumatic events with ghosts and such, so THAT could be fun

-If you want some desperate situation, I'm good with providing or helping with a rescue!

Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:

-Dancing. Cute dancing, all of it.

-Get Rei to chill. Please. It'll be better for it, even if it's only for a few minutes.

-If your character wants OUT Rei should be able to help and find the exits for your character if they're lost!

Oh I am also completely cool with doing a custom starter for whatever idea we want to pursue!

CR Wanted: Vampire things, tbh. People finding out Elena's a vampire, and whatever that ends up entailing, be it negative reactions or shrugs of indifference. Saving someone from a monster, investigating something together, sharing horrific memory experiences...
CR Not Wanted: Maybe no one try to stake her just yet? But I'm open to discussion on that one!

Ideas for obtaining horror points:
- The clock replaying the death of her Aunt Jenna.
- Elena using her vampire speed to get back to town before the Unmasking ends and trying to call or video someone about the state of the town. It won't work well or last very long, of course.
- If she gets back to the hotel in time... Blood sacrifice to the black deer. It might take Elena a minute to figure out what's needed, but then she won't hesitate to bite her wrist and offer up some vampire blood.
- General horror at the drinks/food.

Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:
- Elena is a dancer, these types of parties are her jam, please someone join her on the floor. (Or let her drag you out onto it, either way works.) Happy to handwave the actual dancing and just do the approach or after portion.
- Playing with the Truth drink, and perhaps the Flirt drink. For Truth, someone could get Elena to admit that she's miserable and having a Very Hard Time in Deerington. For Flirt, well, Elena's going to be drinking as much as she can to curb her blood cravings, so if anyone over the age of 18 wants to play with that...
- Someone finding out Elena's a vampire. I desperately want this one. (Perhaps the Truth drink in action, or reacting to an attack by a monster type.)

I'm up for most anything with this event though, so come at me if you've got ideas!

THE CLOCK – (cw: child abuse) Seth will see one of the more violent beatings that he received at his father’s hand should anyone want to witness that. Open to having him see clocks of others too.
THE GROUNDS – He will go out to after the clock for a breather. Seth would have his gun on him and have a fighting chance of not getting buried. Open to helping someone else out of the grounds.
THE RESTAURANT – He would make a stop for a steak and be affected by the feeling of rage if anyone wants to witness or interfere.

"The Red Death held sway over all!”
THE BAR – HAHAHAHAHA …Seth will work on not vomiting as he sees what he actually drank. He’ll gladly shoot the spider on sight and help out others around who might need a hand.
THE RESTAURANT – He won’t be eating when the change occurs but would go in and make sure nobody is trapped. He’s going to be seriously pissed at finding the men wearing signs who’ve hurt someone defenseless. It's possible that Seth will use all his ammo here.

Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event: "The Spring Masquerade”
THE BAR – Someone please get Seth a golden drink. Although really, any of the drinks aside from blue and orange should be a lot of fun.
THE RESTAURANT – Seth doesn’t really have a sweet tooth so he won’t be choking on cake. I’m thinking some (majority?) of the kids might end up needing help which I volunteer Seth for.

CR Wanted: Everything! No, really, give me everything! I’m looking to develop new CR and further encourage old CR as I’m trying to find my footing in RP once again. I’d love it all.

Ideas for obtaining horror points:
- The clock will be playing The Beast killing her best friend Eliot as seen courtesy of the probability spell. Fun times! Margo will be suitably freaked out and crushed all at once.
- Margo knows how shit works. The essence of the magical can get shit done. She's not technically a magical creature, but she's grasping at straws. She will attempt a blood sacrifice using her own blood for the black deer.
- After the unmasking, who's up for fighting some spiders with Margo? She'll try battle magic at first which will bounce back and injure her instead of the spiders, but, hey...
- Anybody want to deal with the men who committed the crimes? Margo has a mean streak for people who hurt people.

Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:
- Dancing! Margo wants to dance! She will dance with men! She will dance with women! She will dance with kids!
- I want to keep the drinks light, so it's silver, gold, and black for this lady. Will be looking for plots with these.

- at the unmasking, gansey is going to think he accidentally traveled through time, because that sure is a thing he can do! i'd love for people to learn this fact.

CR Not Wanted: I can't think of any? Probably going to be avoiding the spoiled food stuff with him, but reacting to it is fine.

Ideas for obtaining horror points:
+ THE CLOCK - all are welcome to witness what totally looks like an attempted murder, and/or what looks like space spartacus combat
+ COLD - wandering around in it, building a fire with his bare hand (ok it's the metal one but still)
+ PUNCHING - he has a metal hand that punches through spaceship hulls, so if you need rescuing from the statues, he's your dude.
+ EXPLORATION - general looking around, wondering what in the @#$% is happening here.

Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:
He's really not expecting a good time, and he's probably going to do his best to be a wallflower if possible. So anyone willing to peel him off the wall please be my guest. The last party he went to was... rough... so. He may be more than a little unwilling to engage.

Ideas for obtaining horror points:
- Jesse will be spending time in the bar, either drinking the gold drink or the black drink.
- Which means he'll be there for more spider antics! Because he's so not tired of those.*
- Very down for wandering around town in the cold. Also, the labyrinth!

Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:
- Jesse is good at parties. Aside from the event stuff, if anyone wants to chat/dance/otherwise have a good time, Jesse is your man.
- His specialty is line dancing. Just throwing that out there.
- Would love for someone else in the bar for him to chat with (and/or flirt with, given the black drink option. FYI, Jesse is bi, so anyone is welcome so long as they're not underage.)
- Similarly, would be down for someone wandering into the maze with him, or running into him after they enter separately.

- Spooky scary spiders, he had a bad time with them last event so he isn't keen on 'em this time
- Taako doesn't have a huge temper but he can get pretty horribly vicious if under the influence of the anger radius on the crime critters, so like, if anyone wants to see how scary magic can get
- Definitely the labyrinth! Taako saw the deer in the field before the maze popped up so he can help people find it again mayhaps
- General abandoned town shit after the unmasking

- At least like 30 seconds of fun party times before it all goes to shit

★ Kieren will be oddly concerned about the corpses behind the bar and might try and cut them down. He's gonna be bothered by it a lot and maybe want to bury them properly?

★ Clockwork Show: I think I might have him see his supermarket scene which involves him doin' what zombies do....SO If anyone would like to witness that that'd be great.

★ He's not much of a fighter at all but he will be around to help if people need it and explore a bit.

Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:
★ He'll be offering dances to people regardless of age or gender. Friendly zombie is friendly.

★ He'll be a little drunk on some animal brains at some point. He can't drink any of the fun colored drinks so alas.....And he also can't really eat any normal food either.

★ IDK. I am open for ideas!

CR Wanted: ANY. He just rolled into town so any CR building is good CR building! As some background, Josh is a magic user and chatty kathy willing to rub elbows with pretty much all types. He's used to his own canon going batshit nuts, it wouldn't be hard for him to turn to the person beside him and strike up a conversation about how clearly this means they're aLL GOING TO FUCKING DIE!!!!! Somebody hold his hand.
CR Not Wanted: If you're Marina coming back to insult his sweet jacket, stay away.

Ideas for obtaining horror points:

• Bar. Eyeing up that spider bartender because wtf, when did Shelob learn to sling drinks.

Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:

• General party stuff and meeting people, the whole shebang.

• He won't be taking any drinks himself (because that shit is HELLA SUSPECT and also to let him react to his first event semi-sober) but he's more than happy to be a helpful sober companion, or play off somebody affected!

• He could be getting statue'd if anyone needs a damsel for saving, or I'd be just as happy having him attempt to rescue someone else. "Attempt" because it'd involve an unpredictable bout of magic that could even make things worse depending, lmao.

• Someone to hide behind when the monsters come out. He did not wear the right shoes for monster fights.

• Need a maze buddy whose navigation spells won't work and who'll spend the whole time being increasingly anxious they're going in circles and about to freeze to death? Alternatively: someone who can a bit of magical warmth who'll still complain they're lost and about to die.

Ideas for obtaining horror points:

• The masque and unmasking is basically gonna be like one long ptsd quicktime event for Daemon, tbh, stirring up all of his worst memories from over literal centuries. A court setting is usually his element, but he’s gotten used to having a buffer, the dynamics between people are all wrong, and he’s not sure he can trust his experiences.
  
• Daemon’s brain will BSOD at the unmasking as he gets stuck in a flashback to a time when he was lost in a nightmare.
  
• Prowling the ruined town is a must. Daemon’s old as balls and he’s done this ‘prowling of ruins’ before--but he usually as a grasp on the intervening time between Whole and Destroyed. He’ll be hunting without knowing what he’s hunting and by turns suspicious and protective of anyone he meets up with. Like the drunk woman crying over puppies, Daemon’s gonna be a bit of a wreck when he can't identify the threat so he can murder the shit out of it.
  
• Most of what I’m after is Daemon’s skin crawling with a pervasive sense of Wrong off and on all night.

Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:

• Meet ALL the people!
  
• Daemon’s gonna use the gathering for fact-finding and getting a feel for people. He needs input, and he’s put a lot of metaphorical points into his social Investigation skill. Maybe some Daemon off-balanced-ly flirting and flattering and dancing?

I am just vibrating because I just saw your top level and I had no idea someone played him. poor Daemon, masquerades are his thing.

ANYHOW enough gushing from me-would you like Daemon and Rei to meet before or after the unmasking? She's likely going to be pretty off put by everything, and she's going to...maybe be able to sense things off of him via her sixth sense.
