WELCOME TO DEERINGTON!

Hello new players, and hello old players with new faces! We're thrilled to have you in the game and we hope your time here is horrifically wonderful! Please feel free to use this space to introduce yourselves to one another and show off your new characters! Below is some useful information for all new players of the game and how you can expect the game to function! You certainly do not need to read it in order to plunge into the game, but we felt it might prove useful for some people and help you adjust to how the game works quicker!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THIS MONTH

Check out this month's Prelude to catch up on what the setting will be for the month! New characters will receive any items/newspaper from the month's Prelude.


Requirement for all new characters: Please make sure to comment with your character to the AC Page by the 20th. We will assume you've withdrawn your acceptance if we don't see your character on the AC page by then. This would be seen as idling out and you would have to wait one application cycle before reapplying.

Content Warnings: Please make sure to check out our player-maintained content warnings excel sheet. We strongly encourage all players to fill this out.

PRELUDES, EVENTS, AND MORE

You can expect a Prelude post made each month to provide details about Deerington's setting for the upcoming event/month. Prelude posts may just be descriptors of the location or may be deliverable posts by NPCs like Sodder or the Dog Keeper. Preludes occasionally will contain gifts or necessary items for a character! All Preludes are accessible to characters accepted during that month's application cycle. For example: the Prelude for December has gifts and settings that are accessible to every character accepted in December.

We hold one event per month. Many of our events have a lasting impact on characters that will sometimes carry over a month or two after the original posting. We always clarify what parts of these events may carry over, and even as a new player, you may be able to access certain elements from events posted before you were in game so always make sure to check out the Preludes for details about any carry-over prompts!

We provide content warnings for each of our events. Each event typically has a specific horror focus, and some events may be more specific than others. Please make sure to read the content warnings closely.

All of our events are specifically designed so players can feel comfortable opting out of any of the events without completely missing out on what's going on. Never feel you have to engage with any part of an event that makes you uncomfortable!

With every event we post a plotting post so that everyone can dig in on what they want to plan for the event. This is posted at the same time as the event.

We have a CR meme that is posted every other month. This encourages people to make long-term plans with each other as well as catch up on what characters might be going through in the game!

Our Test Drive Meme is posted towards the end of each month. All TDM events can be used in game canon! You can also use direct TDM posts as AC! 10 points for a top-level (new characters only), 3 points per log comment, 1 point per network comment (all players).

Our Activity Check always begins on the first and closes on the fifth. All new characters must at least check-in for their first month, but new characters do not technically need to meet AC their first month. Please remember to comment to this post so you can submit your AC! One of our players has made a helpful tracker for those who may be interested!

While we have provided you with your essential links for joining the game, we have compiled a useful list of links you might be interested in for further immersion of the game!

↪ Social Media in Deerington: Social Media is a large part of how characters interact in Deerington. They use deerFeed, deerlyBeloved and Staggr. Read up more on how each of these apps function in the game and get your pages set up!

↪ Death Certificates: This will help you keep track of your character's deaths in game as well as any symptoms they might be experiencing. Most new characters won't have to worry about this but heck, what do we know? Maybe you'll want to get to dying sooner than most!

hey guys, kerry here adding in one extra joy to my roster. this is lydia martin from teen wolf, style queen, sassy as heck and smarter than you. but she's a good egg, out here to help save the day and more capable than she ever used to give herself credit for.

lydia's also a banshee. it means that she screams a lot, hears voices that guide her to death and danger and is her own weapon. her power warps mean that she's not going to be screaming every time someone dies (because that'd get old) but with plotting there's the potential that she could see a premonition surrounding your character's death/danger, whether vague or accurate if you'd like a helping hand. i'm going to put more on it on her permissions page.

she's currently from the middle of beacon hills being taken by the wild hunt and is going to assume that this is what happens when you're taken, so she's gonna be full into research and plan mode. check your network and logs soon or hit me up on pm for a plot ♥

GUTEN TAG, Y'ALL! my name's Hika and i've been hovering around this game for ages trying to figure out who i wanna drop in here, and Klaus Hargreeves from Netflix's The Umbrella Academy finally clicked!

for those who don't know him, he's a special 31 year old (omg SO OOLLLD) former-superhero and newly reformed junkie/alcoholic who can commune with the dead and is dealing with a lot of varying types of PTSD and depression! he's coming in fresh from the end of season 1, which means life has just kind of taken a bit of an upward swing for him, only to be landed here in Deerington. YAY! :D

HELLO everyone! Angie here with my first Deerington character, Sara Lance from the DCTV Arrow-verse. For characters in her canon, she's actually taken from right before Legends of Tomorrow, towards the end of her stint on Arrow. Basically, she's an ex-assassin turned vigilante who died and got resurrected (shout out to Constantine for the assist) and left Star City to figure how to deal with the bloodlust effects left by the Lazarus Pit.

She has a studio on the top floor of the David Cliff apartments in Brahms, and she'll be bartending at Hair of the Dog... Super excited to get plotting and playing with you guys soon! Hit me up on plurk or DM me if you'd like to plot something up :)

Lia, your timing. I legit just finished and cried over the sequel like. Two days ago (yeah I took my time and was mostly just playing it over the weekends but also. Game be Rough and so unnerving at points to make me all tense.) so I am still kinda emotional over it all. Abby really grew on me and it prob helped that I went in figuring she had Reasons for doing what she did near the start of the game there as well.

Which is to say lol, hi. I'm Caprica and I have this here fellow outbreak kid. Clementine from Telltale's the Walking Dead game. She's coming in from the second episode of the Final Season. He's technically a creature of darkness who was born from the darkness of another character's heart. Sound confusing? Don't worry, that's just par for the course for Kingdom Hearts games. For those familiar with P5R I'm bringing him from the glorious third semester after he joined forces with his rival boyfriend rival boyfriend rival ... with the protagonist! And for those who aren't, this guy basically is a jerk in disguise, he's rather pretty and looks nice but, oh lord, don't be fooled... I'm so sorry about anything he might say to your characters :x. On that front, he's probably gonna avoid people like burning and I'm also sorry about that u^u, he's awful at making friends, even tho he desperately needs them. He also has some cool powers and is able to summon the manifestation of his personality or something along those lines. He's also a bit of a murderer but who is judging, right?

I'm bringing you all Zak Gist from the show Eternal Law. He's one of the show's three main characters and one of the two angelic...lawyers.... That's right! He is both an angel and a lawyer. He's also got a bit of a grumbly, prickly exterior but right below that is someone soft and caring. Because, well, he is an angel. He's got a lot of experience being on earth and a maybe not GREAT relationship with Mr. Mountjoy God.

*waves* Heya Lassie. I'm Latroma, and I play this... well, yeah. Larxene. Great gal. I'm sure you know she's a super nice person with love in her *snicker* Yeaaah, Lar's Lar.

Anyway, I play her, Neopolitan from RWBY and Vira-Lorr from Agarest War. It's kind of neat to have potential castmates again (though admittedly Larxene and Ventus/Vanitas/Aqua have no interactions in any of the games, so more of a 'aware of each other' thing). Haven't had them since Roxas dropped a while back.

Let me know if you're up for anything sometime. As a note: Larxene here is just post-KH3, so she has Elrena's memories back and emotions (on top of a few events within game that have screwed with her head for the positive.). This means she's... well... actually helpful some of the time and not always an obnoxious little snit? Haha.

And I did want to check in before tagging to make sure about one thing: We had a Ventus here before, for like nearly a year or more. Larxene and Vira-Lorr both had a fair bit of CR with him, largely positive or neutral. Are you ok with that being referenced?

hello deerington!! i am in you, at last. i'm cura, and i've brought with me the poster child of nasty crime boys, joker from persona 5's royal release. he is just your average high school student, honest, who happens to be able to tap into some gnarly summoning powers while crawling his way through the subconsciousness of society!

his canon point is from shortly after the new year, which is just around the time when you thought everything was gonna be okay and then it wasn't, heh. i know it's still a relatively new canon, so if you'd prefer i avoid spoilers explicitly, just let me know! i'm over at recarmdra but i'm equally open to plotting things over discord, PMs or however else.

Hey there, Deer! My name is Jude and I'm going to be playing Aqua from Kingdom Hearts. For those unfamiliar, Aqua is someone with a good heart, a calm demeanor, and a strong sense of justice. Considering that she's coming from the end of Kingdom Hearts 3, she's going to be arriving with her own emotional baggage.
