Employment in Deerington: Part-time researcher for Dr. Richard Strand
Residence in Deerington: 8286 Starling Lane, with Jean Grey and Alice Cullen.
Day to Day Activities: She's a homebody, so she's usually around the house cooking or baking or reading/journaling. She has a few friends around town, as well as her girl???friend???? good acquaintance who she spends a lot of time with. She'll most usually be found at the library, because Nerd.

About This Character: It's. It's the sparkly vampire series. She's the OG YA Protag who Isn't Like Other Girls. If you aren't...familiar for whatever reason, basically Normal Boring Girl Seeks Supernatural Excitement, in Western Washington.
Any Warnings: Bella's super chill about vampires and werewolves, since she personally knows both, but they're all really hot and stuff, so it's not exactly scary. On a more meta level, I try to delve a bit more into Bella having had kind of...a crappy upbringing (she was more of a parent than her mom was) and super low self-esteem, so.

Present Life: Bella arrived in Deerington engaged to Sparklepire boy, but pretty quickly got a reality check that maybe marrying an immortal undead guy who watched you sleep for months and has a lot of red flags re: his interactions with women is...probably not a good idea. She had a crisis, moped a lot, wrote some sad poetry in her journal and is now trying to figure out who she is outside of Edward. Part of that involves being in a relationship????? Thing with Clarisse LaRue. Who is also a demigod, because Bella can't ever have a mundane relationship. She's trying to sort that out too, there's a lot of Feelings involved.
Future Ideas: Basically Bella's Deer arc is gonna be her becoming more confident and secure in herself. Maybe she'll learn to fight? Or come into her own as a researcher/expert on supernatural stuff/cryptids? Maybe she'll become a mountain recluse and live in a cave! Who knows! I also eventually would like her to become some sort of monster (vampire, werewolf, whatever), as that's an important part of her overall arc, wanting to become inhuman.

CR You Want: MORE FRIENDS she's an absolute dweeb and bad at relationships and all that jazz, so please be patient with her. She's also got a soft spot for kids/people who are more vulnerable than her, so having her secret maternal instincts activated is always good. She's still young, too, so parental types are always welcome, since she's soooo bad at being taken care of. Also any sort of inhuman/monstrous/etc. characters are going to FASCINATE and DELIGHT her.
CR You Don't Want: She's good on romance atm, even if she is a Complete Loser at it.

Let's start with my newest brat.


Character Name: Kristoff
Age: 24
Employment in Deerington: He doesn't have a job yet because this place is dumb and doesn't have ice harvesting. He's... figuring it out.
Residence in Deerington: 138 Princess Drive with Anna and Sven. He honestly just sleeps in the stable he made for Sven because why would anyone wanna sleep in a bed in a giant mansion I guess????????
Day to Day Activities: Right now he's trying to get a handle on living a life that isn't in 1840s in a quaint Disney city. He's exploring the city and looking to see if there's any work he can even really do. He's also spending time with Anna and Sven pretty regularly, obviously.

About This Character: I wrote an extremely extra application that has a detailed personality, but in summary, Kristoff was raised by trolls since he was 8 and in a few orphanages he constantly ran away from before that due to bullying from the other kids and mistreatment from adults. The last three years, he's been living in the barn at the palance in Arendelle and he's learned a little bit about how to uh... be around humans... but he still tends to do/say things that are semi odd (like talking to/for his reindeer on a regular occasion???) and can often times be pretty stand-offish or come across as a little grumpy when he's first getting to know someone. He can carry on a decent conversation tho and in reality he's soft as a marshmallow. If you need someone who can pick up heavy shit (or just... wanna be picked up... I guess...), he is also your guy.
Any Warnings: Obviously he comes with parent death and bullying/abuse warnings, and he sees neglect as kind of... normal because it seems like everyone he knows has been. His canon also deals with PTSD and other mental health issues fairly directly, bigotry based on magic powers, and people freezing to death SO THAT'S FUN.

Present Life: He legit just arrived. He has his fiancée, Anna, and his reindeer, Sven, and that's... it. He's talked to a handful of people and Varian is from his world even if not the same city, so that's probably the only connection he really has in Deerington right now that he'd actually message for any reason.
Future Ideas: I NEED TO GET HIM A JOB. Also I'd like for him to actually figure out that some of the things the trolls told him about humans were a little uhh... off, and also get him some legit friends because he needs people who can show him that humans outside of Anna and Elsa don't all suck.

Age: 16
Employment in Deerington: High school student and he works at Katherine's apothecary
Residence in Deerington: #25 Raccoon Alley with Glitch, Fern and their assortment of creatures.
Day to Day Activities: He goes to school EVERY DAY because the little weirdo actually loves it- and of course, spends quite a bit of time at the apothecary. Otherwise, he's a pretty anti-social creature, he spends most of his time in his basement lab at home. When he can be dragged out into the light of day he can be found at the library a lot. He gathers supplies in the National Park and the junkyard, but his death statue is in the latter so he's less thrilled with it these days.

About This Character: A teenage alchemist with a mind that's firing way too many cylinders at once. Varian is obsessed with a Capital O about science and spends most of his time creating potions and machines to try and make the world a better place. He grudgingly knows a bit about magic, too- only because his world is chock full of it and his weirdo friends keep dragging him into their magical adventures. Science is superior though, prove him wrong!! He's a reformed villain- having a rough patch in the middle there that he categorically will try to avoid talking about. He has a desperate need for praise and validation so if you give him that he will literally walk through fire for you. He's a righteous little shit who always thinks he's the smartest person in the room- but does genuinely want to do good in the world. He's often accompanied by his semi-sentient raccoon, Ruddiger. Rapunzel also left him Max- they HATE each other so feel free to witness a raccoon and a horse screaming unintelligible animal noises at one another around town.
Any Warnings: Varian has an absolute shed-load of self-loathing issues. The whole Former Disney Villain thing weighs heavy on him and he has a massive guilt complex about it. It's deeply unlikely he'll bring it up, but if he does there's parental magical not-death, kidnapping, drugging, attempted murder, prison and an attempted suicide mission.

Present Life: He's been trying to make up for the mess he made in July when he went all murder-robot again. He has a story clue going on here that anyone can jump in on- they don't need CR with him or even to have him present. He's also been going into the mini-events, learning what he can. He's been replicating the Antidote ready for October, so if anyone turns into a monster, he has a cure for them. He's also going to be able to get some Moon Essence- but he can't replicate this so once he harvests some it's gonna be limited supply. Regardless, if you need your drugs to get through October, he's your guy! He's been dealing with Relationship Drama too which is a new thing for him and he's not convinced he likes it at all.
Future Ideas: He's going into the Great Sleep this month to try and contain the Grass Demon in Fern's head and mess THAT all up, so he's likely gonna have some extra self-loathing sad sack in his future. Otherwise, he's mostly battening down the hatches ready for October.

CR You Want: Anyone! Varian is a weird kid who's friends back home are almost all adults, so he gets on with adults better than he does people his own age. That said, he's finally getting used to having other teen friends, please help him be a normal teenager, he has no idea how to do that. He's also probably the easiest of mine to get negative CR from, so if you want that, go for it. He's a shit.
CR You Don't Want: No need for more romance, he's already got more than enough of that madness to deal with. One-sided crushes are fine but he'll be awkward about it.

Day to Day Activities: Carlos is still settling into Deerington and has spent most of his time so far just getting a feel for the town. The fact that interesting phenomena keep popping up has kept him busy and engaged.

About This Character: Some more in-depth info about Carlos here, but the summary is this: he's a scientist that studies anomalous phenomena and has spent the past several years in the scientifically fascinating community of Night Vale. He is quick to get involved, often risking his own safety for the sake of knowledge. His definition of science ("I don't know, but I'm trying to find out, okay?") suggests both his love for his field and his frustration with the occasionally trying process of finding answers. But he wants those answers, no matter where the process takes him.

Any Warnings: Carlos is accustomed to Deerington-levels of strangeness thanks to living in Night Vale. He may make comparisons that reference secret government organizations, shadowy cabals, strange phenomena, and angels. Carlos has some possible trauma in his past, but he avoids speaking of it for the most part. He has some memory loss (he does not remember how he got to Night Vale).

Present Life: Brand new to Deerington and still settling in. He can't help but draw parallels between this place and Night Vale and he wants to understand the phenomena happening here, especially since people keep telling him it's a dream. Score one for the collective unconscious. He has moved in with his husband Cecil. He is looking for possible lab space and/or a job that would allow him a stable place and resources to conduct research.

Future Ideas: Carlos wants to understand things and Deerington is no different, especially since it has such a rich mythos surrounding it and on-going changes related to its very existence. I'd like to get him involved in a research group and/or F.E.A.R.

Day to Day Activities: Ben does a lot of work on the Club House (Which is on Crimson drive, in Brahams), which is the house he woke up in when he arrived here. He's put a lot of work into it and traps. He can also be found at the Library a lot, or the comic shop. He rides his horse, Sarta through town more than his bike now. So he can be found going on rides as well.

About This Character: Ben is a young boy, a part of the Losers Club. He's not the most talkative and tends to like to watch people more, but once you get him talking he will go on for a bit. He likes History and studying in his free time mysterious things of the past. He's a good boy with a fighters spirit.
Any Warnings: No major warnings, other than he comes from a Stephen King movie with clowns, so sometimes that comes up. He's the least abused out of all the boys.

Present Life: Ben has small horns on his forehead! And he's missing his left pinky. He does a lot of construction building, and he's getting pretty good at it, so he'll gladly help people with building things. He's starting High School this year as a 9th grader, and is not looking forward to it at all.
Future Ideas: I want him to get into a bad fight in high school, and use some of his training to defend himself. I want him to make a few more friends, especially near his age. He's getting a pokemon ghost friend for a bit. To go with his horse and dog friends.

Day to Day Activities: Shiro's on the job again, teaching Science at the elementary school. He shows up early and stays after, in case anyone needs a consistent place to find him. He mostly teaches space-related sciences, since that's what he tends to know best. He can also be found at the Coffee shop, or the cafe run by John and Bruce. He rides around on a hoverbike a lot of times. At night, chances are he's patrolling back and forth between Mouse House and the apartments, followed by his robot Lion. The Lion's the size of a draft horse, you can't miss it. He can also be found at the rec center gym, where he'll help with self-defense lessons if asked.

About This Character: Local Ace pilot goes on a deep space exploration mission, gets abducted by aliens, tortured and experimented on. Escapes back to Earth and accidentally adopts a bunch of reckless teenagers -- and then they're all kidnapped by a giant robot lion and strongarmed into fighting a space war for the freedom of all sentient beings. Loves space and astronomy, can drive or fly just about anything. Hopeless in the kitchen. Loves bad jokes and uses them as a coping mechanism. His teammates are his family.

Any Warnings: He's got a LOT of signs/symptoms of PTSD, anxiety/flashbacks/etc. Most of those flashbacks relate to violence and/or medical trauma and experimentation. It's not clear what exactly happened beyond "really bad stuff", but I try and warn for it regardless.

Also, because it's come up a few times recently, descriptions of chronic and/or potentially terminal (?we just don't know thanks canon?) illness may occur in very close CR conversations. I will warn for that in the subject lines too.

About This Character:

his app is here but the short version is eames is a high-ranking fae who is still kinda hiding the fact that he's not human, is generally quite affable and arguably charming, and definitely cares about you and your problems and how he can really help you if you open up to him. (spoiler: he does not care about you or your problems and will use these things against you if it benefits him.) unlike what my game history might suggest, he's a real people person who loves making "friends," is real good at reading people, and has a real annoying array of powers.

Any Warnings: there's some fantasy racism and slavery that can get a bit dark, but it probably won't come up. (unless you wanna know why he hates witches and vampires)

Present Life: oh nothing just dealing with having an alternate version of himself and arthur around and what that means and also the fact that something is happening to the dream and he doesn't understand it which is very frustrating
Future Ideas: uh i've kind of been tiptoeing around out of anxiety/embarrassment but i def want to get a little more into the meat of the game's metaplot with him. also he's been here a year (on and off..........) and hasn't died? what's that about

Employment in Deerington: Park Warden Logan. When he's not recovering from his 2nd death, find him somewhere in Deerington National Pk, convening with nature. Picking berries. Identifying flowers. Just guy things.

Residence in Deerington: What used to be a private little cabin near Lake Tomie.

Day to Day Activities: Find him park wardening, odd-jobbing around town, hunting, fishing and skinning things, loafing around the bars or stocking up on cigars at any local tuck shop.

Sometimes he gets up to things in the shadier parts of Deerington but he likes to make sure most people don't know about that.

About This Character: This is 616 Logan, but the attitude doesn't change much across mediums. Alignment: Chaotic-tired. Bitterly apathetic on the outside. Warm and fuzzy on the inside. I apologize if he makes small talk difficult, but he WILL come around.

Any Warnings: All the warnings. His whole life is a chronology of dead spouses and families, human rights violations.

Present Life: Logan was pulled from a canon point where he's dead. Thanks to other people from his canon in the game he knows he's dead back home and doesn't have a lot of faith in ever leaving Deerington but he might be getting spooked that these recent changes to the boundaries of the place mean somethings gonna send them all back.

‣ Co-conspirators & partners in crime. While he has a lot of do-gooder friends, he's really easy to conscript for some bad deeds. You got some ambitions to do some crimes on the down-low? ‣ Doctors without boundaries. He's an interesting specimen for anyone in the medical community. Apart from being a one man organ farm, his blood and plasma have both been tapped as a cure-all and a narcotic, among other things. Or some doctors interested in his physiology.
‣ Curious telepaths and unwitting empaths. The only thing more interesting to dissect might be his head. I'd love find some uncomfortable CR with nosy psychologists, telepaths or empaths.
‣ Found-family. Give me your misfits and orphans and lonely hearts. Misery loves company. He's a very good confidant. Not the kind that hugs you and tells you it'll be all right, but the real talk kind. Also, if your character pairs well with an older brother kind of figure, get at me.

Day to Day Activities: Fern attends school during the day. He also has daily training sessions with Maul, and regular gun training with K.

About This Character: Fern is the result of Adventure Time's main character, Finn, getting turned into a sentient sword and then merging with another sentient cursed sword, the Grass Sword. He's now made out of grass and has various plant powers, and has two separate minds making up his Fern self: a human teenager who grew up in a post-apocalyptic Earth (and used to be a cosmic entity of change), and an eldritch horror octopus-spider. Fern's self esteem is essentially non-existent so he's often extremely self-loathing, and he generally thinks violence solves everything. On top of all that he has severe problems with his identity, having lost his previous one as Finn, and frequently questions his personhood.
Any Warnings:  Being made out of grass Fern comes with buckets of body horror! On top of that he has low self-esteem, and has a lot of issues with his identity. He also has very violent tendencies and his past involves violence against children, death and parental neglect/abuse. Grass Demon comes with cephalopod and spider imagery.

Present Life: Fern has slowly been trying to work on his violence and self-loathing issues, and actively improve himself instead of wallowing in misery all the time. Go him! Unfortunately, several characters have learned about the Grass Demon and will be trying to rid Fern of it in a bid to help his instability. Towards the end of the month Jon, Glitch and Varian will be trapping Grass Demon in the Great Sleep, leading Fern to suffer from dream confusion. This will result in him hallucinating so badly that he'll be nudged by Elias to go kill Jon. Both he and Maul will be doing this in early October. Luna and K will free Grass Demon from the Great Sleep, but it'll be too late and shortly after Jon's death Fern will die. This will result in his third death, meaning he'll be suffering from both canon and in-game amnesia.
Future Ideas: Looking to play around with the deathflu and amnesia in October! He'll be forgetting some canon people, and in-game everyone involved in his death as well as the events of his death.

Day to Day Activities: Lev tends to just... wander around. This type of civilization is extremely new to him and he's both really interested and really unsettled by it. He likes to spend time in the woods because it's more familiar to him and where he feels safe.

About This Character: Lev is from post-apocalyptic Seattle in the year 2040, where a fungal outbreak in 2013 caused zombies (essentially) and basically the end of the world. Lev was raised (but later left due to them denying his gender identity) in a post-apocalyptic group that blamed technology for the end of the world and, with increasing rules and restrictions, basically ended up as a cult. SO BASICALLY, WOW LEV YOU KNOW NOTHING.

Lev can appear reserved, even aloof, and definitely strange in his thought process. But underneath, he's basically a kid made of pure heart that bonds easily with others. He likes to help and he likes to comfort people but he can be stubborn, especially when it comes to his ideals. He's poor at understanding turns of phrase and modern slang but he is LEARNING and will quickly pick up new words and then probably misuse them for a bit (he still says "cold" instead of "cool").

He's also fantastic with a bow and is pretty used to figuring out how to fight and survive.

Any Warnings: TLOU2 is a pretty rough canon and deals with things such as: transphobia, cults, torture, religious abuse, self-inflicted scars, body horror and graphic violence. Also spoilers. Lev's permissions/opt-out is here.

Present Life: HE JUST ARRIVED. So he's just trying to make sense of all of the stuff in Deerington. He's extremely wide-eyed and innocent to it all. But also somewhat skeptical because he views the "Old Word" as still pretty suspicious.
Future Ideas: I'm definitely planning on having Lev reckon with his faith. He knows that the Elders have distorted the words of the Prophet he believes in but it can be difficult to separate words from Dogma. He's also had a terrible time of it and I want him to work on dealing with his past and everything that's happened to him.

But also hoping for some good found family shit and maybe even him crushing on someone his own age. As well as just having people affirm his identity. He doesn't NEED it, but it will make him feel happy.

About This Character: He's an arsonist and thief who used to be a villain, but is now sort of hero-adjacent as he hops around on a time ship trying to fix everything broken in the timeline. They might have broken some of the things they're fixing, but they're still kinda heroic-ish! Mick is also an accomplished romance writer under the pen name Rebecca Silver, though he's just recently been unmasked in canon, so he's quite open about this. He's also about to come back from a canon update where he'll now have a teenaged daughter due to time shenanigans. He likes beer and boobs and fire and eating snacks and inside his gruff, scarred exterior is a slightly gooey center that he tries desperately to hide.
Any Warnings: Mick is a functional alcoholic and former criminal who has in his past killed many people, including his own parents. He doesn't kill indiscriminately at this point, but he's not outwardly ashamed of his past. He also has a backstory that includes domestic abuse and is covered in some severe third degree burns scars from a fire that he was caught in a few years ago.

Present Life: Mick has gotten used to being part of a team back home, but his captain doesn't remember meeting him yet and his only other teammate is the one he's probably least close to, so he's very much trying to figure out his purpose while also pretending not to need one. He's starting to make some personal connections and now that he'll remember having a daughter, it will probably soften him up to make even more, but he's still just trying to live in the moment and protect what he's got.
Future Ideas: As above, he's going to be having some softer dad feelings and softer feelings in general. Mick's a character who very much needs a found family to ground him and while he's very stubborn, he can also be a bit of a follower and can be roped into things if he's convinced that it will either be fun or get him something.

About This Character:
A high power sorceress and seer, Vira-Lorr is a former general in the armies of light that opposed a monstrous-backed army within her world. She is libertine and freedom loving, wishing everyone around her to be free to do as they please while she is free to do as she pleases. A bit of a hedonist, she loves her physical pleasures of any variety and can be indolent, irresponsible, lazy and more than a little bit prone to bad life choices. She has a romantic streak that isn't well hidden, and has in the past been free with those attentions as part of her stress relief in her time in Deerington.

Any Warnings:
Due to her 6th Death, and a Player Plot, Vira-Lorr's Head is Permanently Detached. She wears a specially designed brace made to look like a high necked mantle to keep it on her shoulders, but this leads to a lot of issues at times. For people for whom this is a trigger, the brace will always be enough to keep it in place. If you are comfortable with it? She tells awful jokes as stress relief and it's been known to fall out at weirdly inappropriate times.

Present Life:
-She has died in Deerington 6 times, whoops! I'm working on paying off everything but her 6th death penalty because that sense dep's great for a couple months, but it does get old.
-She is deeply entrenched in Deerington Lore and focused on finding ways to HELP and REDEEM as many of the NPCs like Julia Sodder's Father that she can. She believes that this is necessary to help protect against the worst possible endings of their struggles with Mother Superior.
-She is putting up a pretty brave front of "It's good to relax in the middle of all this" and telling awful jokes to laugh at her situation, but she is actually not ok mentally. She's had some near misses on breaking down completely since July. Her sixth death terrifies her and laughing it off is part of how she copes.
-She is a romantic train-wreck. She's in a physical relationship with Keith where the two use each other occasionally for physical stress relief, but the lack of emotional connection is wearing on her. She's been yearning for a serious relationship, so she's been pretty actively playing the field, flirting and testing the water with men and women that interest her, but as usual this is going awkwardly because her libertine attitude is too much for a lot of people. It probably does not help that she hasn't broken things off with Keith and isn't likely to do so unless someone else comes along.
-She's not drinking and has been sober for about two months now. This will persist until game's end, but it'll be a struggle at times for her. She's not willing to get into the mistakes she makes when drunk, and her current anti-nausea meds give her a good excuse.

Future Ideas:
-SOMETHING will be happening on the 18th. Sore wa himitsu desu.
-She will be pro-actively pushing very hard into trying to convince as many people as she can of the merits of trying to redeem rather than destroy creatures like the First Guardian.
-She's coming up on her actual two year anniversary in the game in November, so that's a thing.

About This Character: Lucille is a woman who often lacks warmth and kindness. She finds it difficult to smile, and rarely shows anything resembling good humour. She’s a quiet person, who would rather isolate herself than deal with people. With strangers, she tends to wear a polite, aloof mask and she’s generally pretty antisocial. Sometimes, she can be downright condescending. With closer CR, she’s more willing to let that mask slip away, and she becomes someone who is deeply loyal, to the point where she might become overprotective of them. She protects her friends, and she shows respect towards them that she often doesn’t afford others.

She’s currently going through something of a redemption arc. She’s faced her monsters, and she’s had people talk to her about being able to change and get better, and she genuinely wants to try. Deep down, she knows she still has the heart of a ruthless killer, however, and she knows that her monstrous tendency may still slip out at times. She’s been called a monster, and she believes that, but she also wants to believe these people who have told her that change is possible.

Any Warnings: Lucille's background is really dark. It touches on child abuse, codependency, incest, murder, suicidal ideation, emotional abuse, and manipulation. I have an opt-out post here.

Present Life: The biggest thing going on in Lucille’s life is the aforementioned redemption arc that she’s going through. She’s used to being a vicious, remorseless killer, and she has violent tendencies that tend to bubble up to the surface as soon as someone upsets her. Right before her arrival in Deerington, she felt remorse and guilt for the first time, and now she’s learning that she is capable of feeling things. She’s trying to do better, because people have told her that she can be better. But she’s struggling. She knows that her violent tendencies are still there, and she doesn’t know if they’ll ever go away.
She’s still grieving over July, and she’s just… permanently sad, but she’s soldiering on. She’s keeping a close eye on friends and her adopted sons because she wants to protect them all forever.

Future Ideas: I’m not really sure where she's going to go from here on out, but she seems to be on her way to becoming Better. I’d like to further explore that, perhaps. She will, no doubt, stumble and fall again – she’ll probably lash out and be unable to control her feelings, and I would love to explore that turmoil.

APART FROM THAT, I’d love for her to help others who might be struggling. Or she can… at least attempt to.

CR You Want: I’d love her to develop more friendships. She’s so ridiculously protective of people, and I always love playing that out. Her idea of protecting people tends to be unconventional. She's way more tolerant of kids than adults because Trauma, and bad childhoods. She gets protective. And so I’m always open to my murdermom adopting more sons and daughters too. She tends to get obsessive over negative CR and needs close CR to reign her in so she doesn’t do stupid things, so it’s good to discuss the negative stuff.

About This Character: Wise, shapeshifting half-elf druid on the outside. Total dumbfuck on the inside. But despite his flaws, he does his best to nurture and care for the people around him...even if that means happily hopping aboard whatever crazy train your character's riding.

He will be the first to tell you he's an idiot, often playing it up for laughs. This is also a guy who will argue that north is "up" with a straight face. (Is he trolling? Who fucking knows!!) Your character miiiight get exhausted after talking to him for 60 seconds, depending on the day. (Shout-out to Atsushi and Shiro for tolerating his bullshit lmao.) Vyng is used to this reaction — and he might just gently soothe you like a cranky baby and suggest you take a nap.

Behind his goofy, laidback exterior is some serious self-loathing and an intense discomfort with acknowledging his own trauma head-on. He also tends to keep most of his true thoughts/feelings to himself, while simultaneously craving connections with others. (THAT'S TOTALLY NORMAL, THOUGH, RIGHT?)

Dude is also basically married to his best buddy, and they have a son called Billie (who isn't in the game, sob).

Employment in Deerington: The Dearly Diner

Day to Day Activities: Most days, Orpheus spends a lot of his time wandering around town looking for safe, non-monstery places to play his guitar or lyre, so it's pretty plausible to find him either walking or stopped just about anywhere from the shops to the national park to the roof of the apartment building practicing. He's probably also gained a bit of a reputation for singing while he works at the diner, too. He's irrepressible that way. Other common stops include Hart Mart once a week where he buys his groceries as well as scraps from the butcher to burn as offerings to the gods (which is something his neighbors have probably picked up on, by the smell), the flower shop where Ariadne works, and Pixie's, where he plays occasionally at night.

About This Character: Orpheus comes from an adaptation of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice that's set in a vaguely American, vaguely Dustbowl-esque time and place, with the key difference being that the Greek gods are still worshiped and in power, manifesting in and manipulating the physical world. Orpheus specifically is the son of the muse Calliope, and as such is a supernaturally talented musician whose songs have the power to do all sorts of various nonsense. He's a sweet and kind-hearted individual as well as a little bit naive and lacking in social skills - though the recent loss of his wife has put a dent in his previously rosy worldview somewhat.
Any Warnings: Mostly grief over the loss of Eurydice, which has suicide-like undertones to it in that she chose to go to the Underworld but gets complicated in that the Underworld is a physical place that you can just go to in Hadestown.

Present Life: Orpheus has already made a pretty decent number of friends in Deerington, ray of sunshine that he is, but I'm always down for more. Currently he's sort of more focused on surviving and trying to be happy in this place than anything else, but circumstances (meaning, me, QV) keep conspiring to get him involved in the plot. He's got some ideas of what's going on just due to his sympathy for Cynthia's ghost leading him into her business, but he's far from having the full picture.
Future Ideas: One thing I'd really like is for Orpheus to talk to somebody about how in the version of the story he comes from, it was Eurydice's choice to go to the Underworld to escape the near apocalyptic conditions of the world of the living rather than an accident like in the original myth. It's the crux of a lot of his guilt over the whole situation and talking to someone about it could either really help or make things way worse, and I'm into either.

On a lighter note it's also a minor goal of mine to have him jam with every musician in game at some point.

CR You Want: Like I said, always on the lookout for new friends. Enemies or people who just don't like him would be fun too, but he's such an overexcited puppy that that winds up being kind of difficult with most characters.

About This Character: Ruby Rose is the too young to be doing what she's doing leader of Team RWBY. She's a Huntress which in her world means it's her job to keep people safe and fight off terrifying monsters. Behind her cheerful smile is a girl who has seen way too much and has the weight of the world on her shoulders. Despite this she just wants to do the right thing and make the world a better place.
Any Warnings: Mentions of death, war, pending apocalyptic events, loss of limbs.

Present Life: Ruby's on the mend after being murdered in July. She's realizing she puts a whole lot on herself and is trying to be better for it. Despite that she's still pretty miserable at it. She's attending her last year of highschool and has to deal with the fact that the Wizard who threw the weight of the world on her shoulders is in town. So she's more than a little stressed out.

She's in a relationship with Varian McTangled and that's going swell at the moment. Odds are things are going to complicated.


Future Ideas: Ruby's going to be making a small business where she makes custom bizarre weapons for people. She uses a sniper rifle scythe to give people an idea. She'll also be working on knives that are also grenades, a crowbar shotgun and has made a staff rifle. If anyone wants to get in on the shenanigans let her know.

Also her birthday is in October and she's going to do her darndest to have a birthday party despite how awful the month generally is. She will probably be doing her best to save people and give them birthday invitations afterwards.

CR You Want: Basically anything and everything! She's generally high energy and easy to get along with people, but she's also capable of grinding peoples gears for negative CR. A lot of her negative cr is on the mend toward positive so I'd be down with her gaining some new stuff.

World-class monster-slayer, though you wouldn't know it by looking at him, because he's 6'6" of mild-mannered professor vibes. Drinks a lot of hot cocoa and appreciates your shonen enthusiasm. Flings children into monster-ridden forests if it helps 'em learn faster. They'll be fine. Probably.

Any Warnings: He's cursed with immortality such that every time he dies, he respawns into the body of a stranger whose individuality slowly erodes away as their soul fuses with his! So that's neat and horrifying.

About This Character: App + powers+etc here! The tl;dr is that Syaoran's the descendant of a powerful magican and next head of his clan, and acted the Designated Ice-King Magical Rival in his series until he got a blow to the feels and fell in love with his rival and became Designated Boyfriend instead. Oops. He starts the series as a grumpy, aloof, jerk-ish kid, but becomes a lot softer, nicer and attentive as time goes on, and overall he's a generally kind kid and good bean who's incredibly honest and straightforward! He sort of comes across as an old guy in a kid's body with how serious and mature he is, but he's also stupidly gullible and innocent and would probably fall for any bullshit story should anyone feed him one. (He also flusters and blushes more than the actual heroine of this shoujo series, so--) He also stresses a ton about people he cares about/those close to him and tends to get very protective of them, and BOY has he had a lot of that recently!!
Any Warnings: There's some mild child endangerment and threats of memory manipulation in the original/current series, and he's also from an on-going installment of the manga, so spoilers are likely for that!

Present Life: BOY SYAORAN'S BEEN THROUGH A BIT SINCE LAST TIME-- after a somewhat disastrous incident where he's tried to help Usagi/Sailor Moon with her massive injury and did... a not so great job at it (RIP his couch), he's been more focused on learning first-aid for more serious wounds, and he's even made a post asking for advice/teachers! Dealing with the warps put in place on his magic has made him more determined to find ways to help that don't hinge on his flashier skills, so he's just been laying low and trying to learn what he can about Deerington before October hits and inevitably wrecks him 8') Thankfully, he's just gotten a big ol' Blessings Basket haul with a bike, magic airsoft gun (with elemental bullets), enchanted tea for healing/mind clarity and a bottomless bag, so he'll at least have stuff to work with for the following months!
Future Ideas:

-As mentioned above, he's been intent on learning more advanced first aid skills, so he's going to be reaching out to those who made an offer on his post! I'm going to probably do a log with him... soon-ish, so please hit me up if you want to thread that out there, or handwave it! He's just recently received healing tea, pain-killing tea, and mental clarity tea too, along with a two-seater bike that can pretty much go anywhere, so should anyone need an emergency fix or someone to get them somewhere safe ASAP, he'll be prepped for it!

- After a conversation with Vira-Lorr, he's going to try to make blood incense for himself (and others), and while it'll be more effective than the ones offered in the church, it'll also have a negative impact on their sanity, so if anyone wants to find a sure-fire way to get their character monster-ized in October, let me know! I'm definitely interested in playing out the negative consequences from it (and maybe even getting Syaoran turned into a monster himself next month), and no doubt it's probably going to be the source of a TON of guilt going forward for him

Day to Day Activities: J is always on the lookout for supplies all over town including the junkyard, pawn shops, Hart Mart and other local shops. He isn't always dressed super conspicuously and will sometimes disguise himself to avoid detection. It's possible he could have entered your character's shop or business without being noticed.

About This Character:

He's a villain and he can be a pretty dangerous one when he wants to be. With no magical powers, his strengths lie in being cunning, deceptive and absolutely ruthless. This guy has no fear of anything and an incredible tolerance for pain. He has a psychopathic lack of empathy for others yet he's an expert at reading other people and their emotions. Nothing is known about his personal history (though I have my theories) and he likes to keep it that way. The Joker is known for being highly manipulative and often mixes lies and truth together to confuse people. When he's not being actively dangerous, the Joker's behavior is much more "casual" or even playful, meaning he'll behave like he's less dangerous than he really is to make people feel as if he isn't much of a threat.

Basically, he's good for cr that ranges from negative to mildly antagonistic or even kind of playful or friendly depending on who he's interacting with. No matter the case, always expect him to try toying with your character's mind or pushing them toward their darker inclinations. Also, he's a shameless schemer. Would not recommend playing against him in a game of chess.

Any Warnings: You can expect darker subjects in general when it comes to the Joker. Nothing like sexual assault or child/animal murder tho.

Present Life: Learning about and/or harassing his fellow Deerington residents. Recently he visited Mysterio to check out his drones.

Future Ideas:

Very soon the Joker is going to blow up his first building in Deerington! Specifically, he's going to destroy B&B's restaurant owned by John Blake. No one's going to die in the explosion and the neighboring clinic will not be destroyed (though the explosion may leave a large hole in the wall). I wanted to alert Blake's close cr or anyone who might be interested in responding to the explosion. The Joker won't be leaving evidence behind to indicate his culpability but Blake will know who did it. I will post a log shortly (within the next day or so) that will be open for all who wish to react. Some help may be needed to put out the flames.

CR You Want: He's still new so everything!

The instigator in him is attracted to characters who are in law enforcement or are hero types, especially if they pose an intellectual challenge. These are often his main targets. He gets the most fun out of rivaling them, trying to mess with their heads and their self perception. If you play this type of character, he will probably have his eye on them as a potential target.

Unstable characters. These can be anyone, even other villains, who seem like ticking time bombs. If he encounters someone who seems like they can be pushed off the deep end and into a downward spiral of destructiveness, he will happily provide the push.

Morally gray characters who are prone to engaging in criminal behaviors and are looking for leadership.

Innocent or gullible characters who can be led down a path of corruption.

Incorruptible characters who pose a tough challenge or who just want to frustrate or annoy him.

Day to Day Activities: Right now she's sort of going between her place of residence and Charles Xavier's place because she's very Out Of Sorts at the moment with things. Seeing her around town is completely fine.

About This Character:

Jean's a mutant with two mutations: telepathy and telekinesis. Basically, she can not only read your mind but also move things with her mind. She's also capable of some other things with those powers of hers but she never does the telepathy thing unless she has permission from you to or you let me know it's cool for her to/the scene calls for it. She's a pretty kind and compassionate person who is always willing to help those in need in whatever way she can. Because she's always been able to feel everything from everyone, she can easily put herself in another's person's shoes and is pretty understanding about a lot of things. She's also a bit playful and a flirt sometimes and with having a slightly Darker Side to herself, she knows what it's like to feel scared of yourself or feel alone and misunderstood.

That being said, Phoenix is definitely a thing that comes with her but she's not a cosmic alien entity in this version. Instead, because Xavier was wary/afraid of her unlimited potential with her powers as a young girl, he ended up sealing off Jean's ability to access/be aware of them and in doing so, they manifested as a slightly chaotic persona called PHOENIX. She's a lot more unpredictable in her interactions and it's always best to use caution when dealing with/talking to her. Any sort of means/talk of wanting to control/use her is liable to anger her.

Any Warnings:

Things that may come up with Jean are persecution for being a mutant, acts of cruelty towards mutants, character death, character sacrifice, separate personalities aka Phoenix, being responsible for the death of loved ones.

Present Life:

Hoo boy. Jean's having A Not So Great Time lately. She died in the fight with The Father as Phoenix and when coming back, found she lost a signifcant number of CR that's hurt her pretty bad. But your girl just pretends She's Fine as you do when you always put others before you. Currently she's just trying to Deal With All That and everything she felt as Phoenix because oh no it kinda felt really good.... while trying to convince herself she's not a monster or about to blow up here. Her possible son Cable also recently just arrived and while she doesn't know who he is YET, she's getting to know him with him being the awkward bean that he is around his younger dead mom. Timelines I tells ya. Jean's also still searching out Mother Superior and Sodder and frequently picks up on various feelings/pings of them with her telepathy when an event or plot calls for it.

Future Ideas:

My longterm goal for Jean is for her to be able to find some sort of co-existance with Phoenix and not be so insecure of that side of her while also working towards coming more into her power and the things she's capable of. Phoenix was sort of made out to be a villain by Xavier from the get-go because he didn't know how to handle Jean's power and potential, so, working past that would be nice and something she and young!Charles here are gently working towards.

Phoenix has also found out she's strongest when in the various other portions/realms of Deerington, so she might start to appear more now as a result of that. Keep in mind, I never spontaneously spring Phoenix on anyone and usually prefer a reason for her to be out since she's so unpredictable a lot of the time.

— I'll never say no to fellow telepaths, telekinetics, empaths if only because Jean doesn't really know any others except for Xavier back home. Other powered individuals are always welcome as well as Jean can do her best to try and help or reassure one.

About This Character: You all know the story by now. So let's skip to him being a little more broken than normal. Between all the crap that's happened in the city, and the fact that he's only just getting his canon memories back after his second death, he's a little shaky all round. But he still does his best to be a happy and friendly guy to others. He's definitely the hero type, and will willingly put himself in harms way if it means he can protect somebody else.
Any Warnings: IThe only stuff that could come up is death related. And that's kind of par for the course in this game, so...

Present Life: As I said above, he's only just going to recover his canon memories. So mmorally grey Peter is going bye bye, for now. He'll be back to trying to fight the good fight. He can mostly be found at the Goodbye Home or driving around town in his car. He does his best to make sure people have what they're going to need for upcoming situations. He has a good gut instinct both from his Shining but also his general experience of being in Deerington. He doesn't always willingly give the information he knows out - mostly because he's used to no one taking him seriously because of his age, but he actually does have fairly extensive notes and understanding and theories of the town. He's always down to info-dump on anyone who actually bothers to ask him.

About This Character:

Eddie's the most emotional loser and it can be incredibly difficult to interact with him. He's paranoid and sensitive and he can be screaming one minute and crying the next then laughing five minutes later. Kid's a whirlwind to deal with on a good day, but he does try to keep himself medicated to try and keep himself calm. He's not as much of a hypochondriac as he used to be but he still sometimes slips up with hypochondriac tendencies when he's feeling particularly anxious about something. He's extremely loyal to a fault and despite being difficult to deal with, Eddie is deeply compassionate and empathetic and tends to see the best in people who are often deemed as rejects in their own society. Eddie can be contradictory/hypocritical at times and occasionally can be manipulative without trying to be. He swears and has crude humor most boys his age tend to flock towards. He can be sarcastic and a huge smartass. And while he's sweet, he's definitely not what most people would consider as "nice." He can be an aggressive character and borderline hostile and wary of trusting people he doesn't know.

Eddie is also written with a huuuuge amount of purple prose and he often goes through 20 mental gymnastic movements just to get to one single conclusion. A lot of tags for him wind up REALLY LONG because of it but never feel like you have to match my length! Eddie's just obnoxious in his thought process.

Any Warnings:

Eddie's issues often come up even in the most innocuous of threads. He has crippling mental health issues - most of which stem from his extremely abusive mother and his generally horrific canon. Eddie struggles with internalized homophobia. He swears a lot and depends, unhealthily, on a variety of substances to cope with his issues. I have full fledged content warnings for him here and I strongly urge everyone to check it out - especially if you're unfamiliar with the book. Eddie's story is a lot more explicit and difficult to work through than the movies depict. Please feel free to opt-out of Eddie on his permissions.

Present Life:

Eddie recently lost his right arm and now has this pretty prosthetic that Chloe made him. Eddie has been in Deerington for over 2 years now and was from other games before that. He's been on his own for about 4 years and is from book canon, so he's definitely a little different from his movie counterpart. He currently lives with Chloe and Max and next door to the other Losers. Eddie is mostly preparing for October by making an enormous amount of incense and he is likely going to be delivering it to people in need as well as dropping it off at places like FEAR so there's a ready supply. Richie's come back and Eddie has been dealing with his own crisis in that regard but is so far handling it with a surprising amount of grace and maturity. He's pretty invested in Richie but he also does not want to have his feelings forced out into the open again so he's holding back a lot and just suffering in the meantime. Losing his arm has made him feel more confident in his relationship with Bill and the two got a lot closer afterward when Bill was taking care of him.

Eddie's definitely getting older and some parts of him have started to mature overall. He can still be an immature little brat some days, but other days it's clear he's starting to actually grow up. He's taken a fairly inactive role in Deerington for most of his time, but lately, he's started to reach out and try to help new Sleepers as well instead of just ignoring them. Some part of him had been jaded by the constant vanishing of Sleepers, but he's recently come to realize that they still need to be taken care of even if they do vanish in a few weeks.

Future Ideas:

Eddie is determined to stay in Deerington and create a life for himself in the town. He's considering going to the community college to get a proper degree in the medical field and get some advanced training. Eddie really hates the education system though and would much rather just find a new mentor - so he's been looking for medical professionals to maybe train under. Though it's hard when he's suspicious of like...everyone...Eddie is also struggling with some general addiction issues co-dependency issues which would be interesting to deal with at one point or another. The thing is he's real clever about hiding that shit. He will also be getting an indestructible greenhouse for his plants and will be using it to store rare/unique plants as a sort of constant supply for whenever Deerington goes batshit.

I am actually hoping to have Eddie die in a sacrificial way to pay some homage to how he dies in canon beyond just losing his arm - so that would be cool to plan at some point or another if anyone would be interested in that sort of thing. Eddie would definitely die for any friends he's made in this place!

CR You Want:

Definitely would love a mentor or two for his medical training! More friends are always fantastic to have, and honestly, so is negative CR! Eddie is a negative CR magnet. He is also stupid enough to get himself into dangerous situations so he's always good for villains who need a victim or for anyone who wants someone to save. I have also really been enjoying this interesting route of Eddie bossing around adults and HIM taking care of THEM. It's been an amusing and refreshing take on the adoption train. U THOUGHT U WOULD ADOPT EDDIE? EDDIE'S GONNA ADOPT YOU. (Though I am still fine with people adopting Eddie - he is very adoptable...if you ignore the rabies...)

Eddie really IS getting older so he's starting to get sick of anyone who treats him like he's still an infant/very young child. Any implication that he's childish will likely result in Eddie being a big ole bitch but I personally find negative cr delightful and Eddie is fun to play when he's a snarky asshole. So, please, feel free to torment the guy.

CR You Don't Want: Romance. Eddie's heart is pretty thoroughly taken annnnd that's unlikely to change anytime soon. But I'm down for awkward/funny one-sided crushes from kids his age.
