IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT TIME/DATES: Characters will not be able to keep track of the time/dates during these prompts. This prompt is meant to create a sense of disorientation for characters and they won't be able to feel the difference between one hour or five days, etc. You can lean into this casually or intense. There may also be spots in their memory of how they got from one place to the next and what happened between those moments.

You might have noticed that there was no specific location listed on the party events that were waiting for you in your room. Where is this party happening, exactly? It says it starts on the 15th, but you might start to notice the sound of partying happening well before that or well after that. Time starts to become a bit of a blur and it's easy for the days and nights to bleed together, especially since the view out of your hotel room isn't exactly consistent with what you should be seeing. The only real option is to get dressed up in your party outfit and figure out where this party is happening, obviously.

And boy, is exploring this hotel a trip.

The hallways stretch out for miles or maybe abruptly end in a brick wall. The alignment of rooms and doorways are inconsistent and seem to move whenever you look away. You might walk by open hotel doors where you see glimpses of some deeply concerning, weird stuff before the door snaps shut in your face and the lock clicks closed.

Right...Party. That's what this is about. Party! Forget the weird stuff! It's just Deerington's bullshit!

It looks like the hotel will take you to where you want to go depending on your intentions. Either way, you'll head in the direction of the ballroom...but it doesn't take you to a ballroom.

It takes you to a beach. Since when did Deerington have a beach? You don't remember exactly how you get there. You don't remember walking outside. You don't remember opening a door. One moment you're just walking to the ballroom and next you're walking on warm sand on a hot beach with the perfect blue sky and a crisp, gorgeous ocean.

The funny thing is it never occurs to anyone what's beyond the beach. Where this beach is. While in this prompt, characters will forget any desire to figure out where they are. They just...simply accept it. For now, anyway.

THE BEACH

During the day you will find the beach buzzing with activity. People swimming out in the ocean, people laying on beach towels and catching some rays. There are volleyball nets set up with some intense games going on. There is a small boardwalk along the edge of the beach where you can buy just about anything you would want at the beach: ice cream, bathing suits, sunblock, beach towels, beach balls, umbrellas, hot dogs, pretzels, tents, sandals. You can even purchase surfboards and bodyboards. You can also find some bathrooms and courtesy changing booths.

While you're enjoying the rays it might be easy to forget that you're still in Deerington and should probably be a little cautious.

Most spots on the beach are completely safe, but there are a few places where you'll discover the normal sand turns to quicksand. And since you are at the ocean that means some stellar waves to surf on...or drown under if you aren't a strong enough swimmer. There don't seem to be any lifeguards around either so you'll have to rely on the heroics of your fellow Sleepers if you get caught in the tide and pulled under.

The further you go out, the more dangerous the water becomes. There are sharks and poisonous jellyfish to worry about, sure, but there is also a very ominous, giant tentacle creature that occasionally whips its tentacles up to grab unsuspecting swimmers and pull them under. If you're lucky, you might be able to escape their grasp or have someone come along to hack away at the tentacle with a blade to get you free. Thankfully that tentacle monster seems to rarely come out, and there's no real fighting the entire thing. It swims away fast whenever it is attacked or threatened and you won't be able to chase it either. Maybe it's better to let some monsters go...A good tell of this monster being around is that the water in the surrounding area will look darker and oily.

But for the most part, the beach is a safe place! The violent incidents are few and far between, and if you keep an eye out for each other, you should be just fine!

Along the beach, you might find some beautiful seashells to collect. Further down the beach where no one is around, you will find a lot of...trash? Ew! Except upon closer inspection, you will realize it isn't exactly trash. It looks like washed-up lost items. You'll find pictures of people, jewelry, maybe even suitcases full of things. Maybe there was a shipwreck...? At first some of the items you find seem completely random and meaningless...But then you start to find things you recoginze. A childhood toy you thought you had lost. Maybe your old wedding ring. A family picture you haven't seen in years. All the items that wash up on the shore should be ordinary, powerless items, but hold some sort of sentimental value. These items can be pulled straight from canon or headcanons - and they don't have to have technically existed. Maybe a character is from a period without photographs, but a picture of their family washes up on the shore anyway.

Might be worth looking through all that junk to find something that means something to you! And who knows, maybe you'll find stuff belonging to your friends or other people you know in Deerington.


THE BURNING FESTIVAL

During the night you notice a massive wooden structure has been put up of a kissing couple. Music starts to pulse from somewhere (music from the 2000s) and people start to jive and groove to the rhythm of the night. The sky looks beautiful, rich with stars, and the ocean is a roaring backdrop to the party. If you walk out to the wooden structure, the beach becomes more of a desert with solid ground and it's easier to walk about without worrying about getting sand everywhere.

A few tents have been set up where you can get some delicious finger-foods like hamburgers or chicken wings. There's an abundance of alcoholic beverages being mixed up in tents by fellow beach-goers, but you can find normal drinks like water and soda being handed out left and right. There's a very relaxed element to the atmosphere, everyone is unusually friendly and companionable. It's easy to feel relaxed at this festival and you can't really explain Why. It's easy to forget about your problems, your insecurities for a while. Easy to forget about the world you came from. Why not stay in this world? It's so warm and kind.

The same massive wooden structure is burnt multiple times. It takes hours for the structure to burn, and whenever it is first set on fire, the atmosphere of the party begins to change. People get more excited, more eager to dance, and seem to become somewhat hyper and brave. They might feel like they can conquer the world!

It's easy to fall into a euphoric state of mind as the smoke from the Burning Couple rolls into the air. There's a somewhat drug-like effect from the smoke and it doesn't seem to matter if Sleepers are usually resistant to things like that (whether from poison-immunity or a lack of lungs). The smoke doesn't have to impact a character, but it's more likely that it will.

Important Notes:
1. Characters can find bathing suits available at the beach party or come wearing their own.

2. Characters won't remember how they wind up leaving the beach. When a character is ready to leave, they will simply wind up walking back and wind up at the hotel.

3. After leaving the beach, characters might start to wonder where the beach is and what the deal is with it and characters can intentionally go back to the beach to explore but will lose that desire once they arrive back at the beach.

4. Characters can go to the beach multiple times and can stay for multiple days/only a few hours.

It's a song that calls to you. You can hear it playing just out in the hallway. Maybe you're at the Grady Hotel or maybe you avoided going to the hotel...It doesn't seem to matter either way. A beautiful song or a wonderful smell pulls your attention. You don't remember getting dressed into some luxurious outfit that's suddenly in your closet, on your bed. Maybe it had already been there? Maybe you had gotten it the other day.

Whatever this is, you just know you must dress for the occasion, and maybe you even do your face up in intricate make-up. Even if you're not usually one for dressing up - the temptation is strong. You drift dreamily out of your room and into the hall or maybe outside - it doesn't matter to you because to you, you're stepping into an ostentatious ballroom. The floors are sleek white with flecks of real gold. Pillars with an ornate trim line the ballroom, fresh roses carefully wrapped at their bases. Wisteria hangs in clumps around massive chandeliers, twinkling with pale light. Beautiful people in beautiful dresses twirl about, their glee is infectious. You feel happy. You feel excited. Even a shy wallflower might feel brave at this party.

After all, why shouldn't you?

Everyone seems so happy. There are bubbly drunken women tripping over their dresses and instead of being mocked, others help them up, laughing with them. Handsome strangers may ask your hand for a dance. Whoever these people are, they certainly aren't Townsfolk. They're too alive feeling, too real, too kind.

Which should be suspicious. Maybe you even think it's suspicious, but gosh, it's easy to get swept up in the energy of the room. Music plays from a band of traditional instruments at the front. At first, you might think it's all classical music, but you might notice some of the songs they are playing seem to be unique versions of modern music. Occasionally a man or a woman might even come up to sing along with the song. Everything feels like it comes from the same time despite being from wildly different periods or genres. Kind of like Sleepers!

And of course, there's all the food. Lining the ballroom are buffet tables overflowing with mouth-watering food. Roasts with fluffy mashed potatoes, chocolate fondue fountains with plump strawberries and squishy marshmallows, finger appetizers snacks like buffalo tenders or cocktail shrimp. The only thing to drink seems to be a table filled with tall chutes of bubbly, golden liquid that might be champagne. It tastes delicious and is addictive once you have a single sip. It makes everything you taste, touch, hear, smell so much better. The more you have of this mystery drink, the more you might fumble around.

Keep dancing around! Have the night of your life!

For everything good must come to an end.

And so too must this party. So too must this dream. You might be at this party with your best buds, meeting up with other Sleepers, and you'll be having a good time until suddenly you take one step - just one- and you get that plummeting sensation like when you're about to fall asleep and suddenly get the feeling like you've missed a step. Your whole body jolts with the motion and the party is gone before your very eyes.

You "wake up" and you're in the ballroom...Only it looks like a ballroom that's been rotted and abandoned for decades now. The entire ceiling is blown out, the pale moon shining in, snow falling down among the rays of moonlight. You're still in whatever odd outfit you decided to wear to the ballroom, but there's no music, no warmth, no food. Your feet are bare and you realize you have been dancing around completely alone in this room for God knows how long. Even if you were with other Sleepers, they seem to be gone now too, and it's just you.

You have never felt so alone in your entire life.

Was anyone left? Anyone at all? Were you suddenly alone in Deerington? God, please no...

Leave the Grady Hotel and you'll find a dark, quiet town. Empty. Void. No one at all.

Until, of course, you find someone else wandering about who was at the ball themselves. It just might take some time of course. Once you find another Sleeper or two, Deerington will slowly start to fill back up with life. Lights will turn on, people will start to fill the streets. What happened?

Did you really go to that ball? Other Sleepers might have the same memories of it as you do - might remember dancing with you...But what happened?

Oh well. At least you're safe now. Unless, of course, you are unlucky and wake up from your ballroom dream somewhere dangerous...Like the top of a building...But maybe another Sleeper will be around in time to find you before you fall.

Important Notes:
1. Much like with the first prompt, tracking "when" and "where" this exactly happens for characters is extremely difficult.

2. The party seems to last for an indeterminate amount of time. It might feel like you only just showed up or like you have been there for hours.

3. This is meant to be a strange, dreamlike prompt. Characters must find one another in the "abandoned" version of Deerington before Deerington becomes normal once more. This can happen slowly or all at once.

4. Characters may be able to see each other "Dancing" in their sleepwalking state in the middle of the Grady Hotel or somewhere in town and may even be able to wake them up from the Ballroom Dream.

5. This is a way for characters to leave the Grady Hotel if they're currently stuck there. Although this prompt technically "takes place" at the Grady Hotel, anyone may be able to access it regardless of their "current" location.

6. This prompt can technically be experienced multiple times or just once.

You don't remember falling asleep this time. You don't remember laying down. You don't remember turning in for the night.

But you wake up to the inside of a coffin. Don't worry: it's not closed, but it still may be unsettling. It's a coffin perfectly suited to you: maybe the lining is pink silk or filled with flowers. You're in an outfit suited to what you would want to be buried in.

You hear people talking. Sit up and you'll find that you're in what appears to be a funeral home. Did Deerington even have a funeral home? You recognize a good amount of people: your family and loved ones. Maybe some of your enemies too.

There may be a memorial for you nearby with details about the kind of life you lead. The pamphlets that were handed out at the beginning of the month are being handed out here.

"What's going on?" You might ask. Might try and say something...Only no one seems to be able to hear you. You get out of the casket without even really remembering and when you look back, you see yourself dead in the coffin. Clean and perfect looking: pressed clothes, neat appearance. You look like you're sleeping.

But look down at yourself and you'll find your body warped in whatever way you might have died - maybe it's how you really die back in your own world, or maybe it's a way that reflects your fears of death, how you might die. Either way: you're a ghost.

And no one seems to be able to hear you or see you. Until, of course, a Sleeper happens to come into the Funeral Home. Visiting Sleepers don't have any memory of arriving at the Funeral Home anymore than Ghosts do. They just know they're arriving for the funeral of someone they maybe were close to, or maybe they're here for emotional support or to work at the funeral home itself.

Either way, that Sleeper can see you.

Or they do eventually. They seem to be able to sense you, hear you even if they don't see you right away. This might tempt Sleepers to talk to Ghost-Sleepers, talk about them like they're a memory instead of right there in front of them. It takes Sleepers a while to truly "see" the ghosts.

The Ghost Sleeper will gradually begin to feel the crushing weight of regrets they might have had in their lives. Things they wish they had done, wish they had said, things they wish they hadn't done or said...Either way, they will start to feel tempted to share those regrets with the Visiting Sleeper.

And once that regret (or regrets) are shared, only then can the Ghost Sleeper be "released" from their death. Their morbid appearance will vanish and instead be replaced with a peaceful looking version of themselves. Both the Visiting and Ghost Sleeper will feel an immense sense of relief...

And then both will wake up back in Deerington - both in the same location. Maybe it's one of their homes or maybe it's the library or some other random location. Either way, they wake up alive and well...But maybe with some things revealed about themselves that they might not have wanted to share. Being honest sucks.

Important Notes:
1. Sleepers do not need to know one another to show up at the funeral.

2. This is another way to "leave" the Grady Hotel. Again, this prompt can be experienced multiple times or just once.

3. It is up to players how horror-centric they would like to make this prompt. You can go for a full "haunting" theme of the Ghost Sleeper tormenting the Visiting Sleeper in some way or you can have a sentimental-only situation.

4. Characters with spiritual abilities will be able to sense the Ghost Sleepers much more quickly / be able to understand what needs to happen in order to "free" them.

5. The Funeral Home does not exist beyond this prompt. It cannot be found intentionally by Sleepers. The Funeral Home can change in appearance to fit a character's canonical funeral experiences / cultural experiences for funerals. Similarly, they do not need to wake up for a coffin if it is not custom for that character's world/background.

Beach: I'm gonna have Margot go to the beach and the burning festival, and try some swimming since she's never done that before. I might have her get caught in some quicksand so she may need some help there.

And this will be her first festival. So she's gonna be living it up and enjoying herself.

Ballroom: Margot will be dancing in this.

Funeral: Her "death" will be her shot/cut open/bludgeoned by humans. She'll be devastated that she somehow managed to die and turn into a ghost, and she'll be sharing her regrets about her past of hunting her human sister, and her future of being turned into a non-sentient animal.

He will probably also get near drunk or completely.

The other half is a deep fear. The isolation.

Honestly I live for being the comfort half of h/c stuff so Mako is your guy to listen to funeral prompts and ask about your life choices, etc.

So, first thing, not doing a TL this month so if you want Mako anywhere, I'll tag into stuff!

Burnt Out: Strong, strong Ember Island vibes. In true Avatar tradition, Mako will def go to the beach. He'll be available to help rescue people from the monsters and will definitely be partying against his will and better judgment at least one night, probably drunk off those cool fumes. This seems like a good idea for silly shenanigans with a slightly-looser-than-normal Mako. Once he leaves, he'll attempt to go again to figure out where the hell it was.

Ballroom Dream: This month Mako has some stellar outfits which def need to be worn to, once again, party against his will. He will definitely end up in the ballroom dream and through the magic of being braver and less of a stick in the mud, will be dancing with people. Will he be a little drunk and a little stiff and awkward? Yes. Will he do this anyway until he wakes up? Also yes.

Also very very interested in having him meet up with fellow recently-awoken Sleepers and wandering around empty Deerington together.

Can't you see me: This prompt is awesome and I def want to tag into folks' funerals. Tell Mako your regrets! Let him talk you down from a proverbial cliff! He's a surprisingly good listener and person to bounce stuff off of. I'd love to use this prompt to deepen some new CR, so if we have a bit of CR and you want more, hit me up! Similarly to the car prompt from last month, I think this could actually be really interesting for new CR because what's better than trauma-bonding about regrets?

Desired CR: Honestly, given this is Izzy's first event and I'm new to the game, I am open for all sorts of things. I'd love for her to develop some semblance of familiarity with a few individuals at least so she doesn't feel so rattlingly alone. Can she also discovery her brother is here, pls? Magnus? Anyone? Game for angst/gen/shippy/comfort/panic/everything.

Event Ideas: I'm more than willing to toss Izzy into any of these prompts, but those that tug at me the most are The Beach, where she'll likely be found alone and drawn to the lost items. Given that the desire to figure out exactly how she's gotten here/where she is will be stripped of her (such a strange thing to consider, given she's just arrived and she's being tossed to the wolves) — she'll also definitely indulge The Burning Festival. One of the things I said upon apping in that I wanted to play around with is influence (particularly those things she's unaware of) so I'm digging that while every part of her outside of that beach is panging with dread and confusion, the warmth of the sand and the smoke of the kissing couple will keep her enraptured in it all, and one might actually experience the old playful, coy Izzy she's been shamed for.

I'm also up for playing her into The Ballroom Dream, whether during the 'dream' itself, or our muses happening to find one another in the abandoned state. Maybe they're jostled and find one another again as things begin to trickle back into focus? I'd love to dig into both the euphoric (within the dream) ballroom experience and the jolt of the abandoned (post-dream) scene. Also down for it transitioning them back to The Grady Hotel where they can learn a bit about this place together, or just not... be on their own through it all.

Can't You See Me is a prompt I'm not reluctant to try, but will certainly be far more heavy, as I'm sure is intended. For this one, if I give it a go I'd prefer to chat a bit before and potentially lead into it with a private starter from yours or mine! It'd also be a really interesting way to smash some sudden CR together, your muse (whether entirely stranger or not) learning things about her that she wouldn't dare talk about, otherwise. (Me: already anxiously thinking ab how their next meeting would go, having exposed so much; can also obviously work vice versa with your muse!)

If you'll be tossing any of your muses into the above prompts and you'd be up for any sort of interaction with mine, just pap me here! Also, if you've got any alternative ideas, lemme hear em. -Neopolitan is going to be a lot more present during the Part 1 of this than the Part 2. I'm happy to have her wander the wasted, empty version of Deerington, but the funeral's tricky. Because Neo cannot actually speak and is at best passing fair at basic sign language, I am not comfortable having her be the deceased in the funeral. She can be a guest (but I'll be having her hop into the thread in those cases), but not the ghost. I think that might infringe into some uncomfortable CW territory with the character so I'd rather avoid her with communication issues while a ghost.

Everything else, though, is game. I will probably pass on her fighting sea monsters mostly because she's not the nautical sort, but if you have an idea, I'm game.

Burnt Out: Definitely here for beach party things!! If anyone wants to be saved from the giant tentacle creature or from the quicksand, he'll be your guy for that! (Sword-fighting sea monsters is a lot easier when you can summon a weapon from your hand, that's for sure--) I'm also good for him joining any volleyball stuff, too! I do want him to find some washed up photos of his family as well, because he hasn't really spoken about them much while he's been here and it'd be a nice place to start!

Ballroom Dream: BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I HAVE A BALLROOM PARTY PROMPT IN HIS OPEN LOG....... although it does need to be tweaked a bit to fit the event, but! Burnt Out: Fern will be available at both the beach and the burning festival! Since he can actually eat now he'll be thrilled to be able to enjoy ice cream, and while he might need some prodding to go into the water he'll be happy to do general beach/festival shenanigans, and maybe punching a tentacle monster that gives him incredibly complicated feelings. A few of his old swords will be washing up on the shore.

The Ballroom Dream: He'll be attending the ballroom party and enjoying the food here, as well. He'll also be willing to dance if anyone wants to, since he's pretty decent at it. I'm verrry interested in exploring the empty Deerington, and having Fern wake up somewhere that's potentially dangerous for a normal human (he's grass he'll be fine). I'm happy to have a thread start either in the ballroom or in the empty town.

Bill has been releasing two monsters per month into the town, which persist past official event end-dates. Monsters that still exist from previous months include a bear with an extending neck made of human tongues (tuunbaq), a cheerful huskie that may or may not be John Carpenter's "The Thing," a huge, paralyzed mouth with teeth that is hanging out inside the Flesh Falls sinkhole, and dark geometric shapes that will hunt divers in the Dreadful Dive sinkhole.

This month's new creations will try to fit what Bill considers to be the 'theme' which is social gatherings. He loooooves parties. Bill's goal this month is to test the limits of his warping.

The Masque of the Red Death being a little too iffy for an actual plague time in real life, the ball will be attended by The Stranger In Yellow. His makeup and outrageous costume tends towards the macabre and horrific rather than the whimsical, but it's all just a costume, so it's probably fine. (Fun spoiler: that's not a costume and it's not fine. touching this dude will cause him to appear in your nightmares!)

Both parties will be attended by guests in monstrous masks, in fact. The ones on the beach will be handing out and pressuring people into fantastical substances - a pill that makes you hear colors, some kind of spiked drink that will completely reverse gravity on you so you'll start falling upwards into the sky if you don't grab something, and also just regular acid, let's be honest. They seem like nice people, if a little pushy. Very nice smiles. Flirty. They're here to meet someone named Julia, but they can stop for a second and chat before they go back to try to catch up with her.

Bill himself will also show up at the beach, and depending on how rowdy you like your parties and your laws of physics, things will go sharply downhill from there and be less of a party and more of a boss fight.

Overarching plotting: I have an opt in to be spied on by an extremely bad triangle and have your dreams seen.

Bill is looking for people that know how to make interdimensional portals, and people who have something personal in common with layer guardians. Were you a mother and a musician? A nun? A mayor? An eldritch alien? Want to get caught up in an absolute fucktangle of an evil plan? COME ON DOWNNN

Burnt Out Ruby is all about the beach prompt here. She will gladly trade out the fancy dresses for a bathing suit any day and eat some burgers.

I'd be interested in having her either save or be saved from some quicksand or drowning in the water. Or team ups against sharks/giant tentacle monsters.

Light hearted beach shenanigans like volleyball, burying someone in the sand or just having a good time are also great.

In the more sentimental side of things she might get some old family photos back or a potato that her sister fashioned into a toy of her mom.

THE BALLROOM DREAM Ruby is less about the ballroom party but will be going. She's an awkward duck when it comes to social events like this but she's been getting better. She might accept a dance or two with some prodding and might loosen up more if she's comfortable with the person.

She'll struggle a bit more in the empty void Deerington. She's suffered a lot of loss in her life and generally draws strength from the people around her. This will hit her hard but once she runs into someone she'll be more eager to find a way out.

Can't you see Me Ruby's got a boat load of misplaced guilt and regrets that she hasn't been dealing with in regards to the deaths of her friends or choices that have led to dire consequences back at home. I'm more interested in having her attend another sleepers funeral, but I'd be happy to touch on some of this too.

Burnt Out - Reaper isn't exactly a beach person, so he would be more likely to show up during a good old party where stuff was burnt to the ground. Because of course. So far, he will keep to the edge of the party but actually can be found having a drink or at least nursing one.

Ballroom - He'll be there in some ridiculous outfit, and while he won't be super happy about it, he will be enjoying himself. He doesn't trust food or drink, but he might partake in the latter. He can be encouraged to dance, especially be CR.

I am particularly interested in him wandering a deserted Deerington and coming across someone else. It is the kind of disquiet that he would want to explore as much as possible.

Beach - Joel will show up on the beach for all that summer fun. No, he'll be there with his arms crossed watching the goings on and probably be suspicious but also have a bitter sense of longing. He needs to learn how to have fun again.

For the night time, he will be willing to drink and probably keep to himself. I am hoping some outgoing character can 'strong arm' him into maybe trying to dance a bit or at least mingle.

Ballroom - This isn't his cup of tea honestly. The only parties he's gone to lately are the kind where a whole group of people are hunting him and Ellie and they all end up dead. So really, he needs to be retrained on enjoyment. I might have him go if anyone wants him there.

Can't you see me? Ho boy... Joel being dead is interesting, given how often he's escaped it at his current canon point. He'll definitely be agonizing about it, especially with friends and family there, many of which have died before him. Time for emotional trauma. Who would like to endure it with him?

Going to just have one top-level for the funeral! Lysithea is canonically going to die in maybe about 10-15 years or so, so she's going to enjoy this one a great deal. This is probably best done with her existing CR, but I'm open to others. Her regrets will include talking about

The Beach: Here, Arid can be found picking through the mementos that wash up, looking for anything useful. I'd be happy to have her pick up something significant to your character, if they want to see a robot walking around with/poking at a treasured keepsake.

She'll also be on hand to rescue characters from quicksand. She'll sink like a stone if she gets pulled in but fortunately is in no danger of suffocating herself. She'll just have to dig herself out and maybe go for a dip in the ocean to get all the sand out of her joints.

The Ballroom Dream: Arid will mostly observe from the sidelines here, as she has little concept of music or dancing. That said, if your character wants to ask a robot to dance, be my guest! The euphoric mental influence in the air will make her more likely to say yes, so long as the asker isn't rude or someone she dislikes.

She'll also be available to wake dancing Sleepers from their trance, so if you want your poor character to get pulled out of the lovely festivities to see a faceless robot staring them dead in the face, hit me up!

Can't You See Me?: I'm very happy to throw Arid at anyone's funeral! Her degree of empathy towards the ghost's regrets will range wildly from "get over it, you self-obsessed wimp" to actually offering reassurance and advice, depending on the nature of said regrets and how well she knows the ghost in question.

Event Ideas:

Peter will be coming to the hotel from a very heavy December, and while the Sads won't be disappearing in him any time soon, I'd love to do some ~lighter-hearted hotel shenanigans while the opportunity is here! Exploring, getting lost and trying to navigate the place together, hanging out in the spiffy rooms, etc. His own room (#420... of course) is going to be just a really chill, small, cosy space for some relaxing. (Actual 420 business not a requirement!) Come take a load off if you need to; the floor is mostly a bed, surrounded by a sofa, with a million pillows, for some Prime Napping.

I'm also here for beach times, both during the day and night. Anything goes here, but I'm very interested in exploring the washed-up items, both from his own home and from others'. Given Peter's past, his own items will definitely elicit negative feelings, so that'll no doubt be a more sad experience, but I love this sort of thing for giving people a little peek into people's lives, or something to talk about.

Peter will be at the the ballroom dream as well, decked out in goetic demon king fashion. Horns, a crown, bangles, tons of gold.... Paimon will also be making an appearance, drawn out by the dreamscape vibes, the clothing which will make him feel more like ~himself, and the atmosphere itself. (Beneath all the Hereditary horror layers, the entity King Paimon loves a sparkling time ✨). So he'll be around to bump into, and will be a less antagonistic presence than some might have encountered in the past, mostly curious and pleasant?? He's going to be all over that chocolate fondue fountain.... His previous host was a big chocolate fiend. :') I'm also very interested to explore the waking up part of this prompt with Peter and am open for anything, there.

For the funeral, I'll likely skip out of him as the ghost role, but I'm down to have him as the visitor role to listen to someone else! Peter's canon comes with a heaping dose of familial loss / death, so this one will definitely be heavy on his end as the "visitor" to a funeral home, as well.

The ballroom is way, way more her jam and she'll be in and out, dancing because she's quite good at it. I'd love to find her dance partners and conversation partners, and people to experience the weird sudden shift to reality.

PARTY
Oh we're going full embarrassing outfit here. It's a chest out kind of look. He's going to be mortified for the first chunk of the party, and then probably get swept up into it. Probably dance a lot, awkwardly.

AFTER the party, it's full panic mode. Because he's been through this before. He'll be desperately looking for literally anyone. Especially people who were there for the first time the hotel went dark on them like this.

Kind of toying with the idea of having it based on the hypothetical Kerberos Crew funeral - they had to have that, right?? Not sure what he'd be admitting to people, but we'll see! Definitely open to planning and plotting.

- Gar will pretty much partake in any and all of the beach activities! He can also be available for rescues from the quicksand or the aquatic threats, in the forms of various animals! I'm also considering potential washed-up items for him to find, most likely stuff related to his mom and M'gann, and finding others' items could also be possible!

- He will also be at the ball, where dancing-related shenanigans can ensue. ...And/or try to find him in the darkness in the aftermath!

- Gar will have his own funeral! Ironically, many of his ghost's regrets will relate to the deaths of others. Come pay your respects to him! Alternately, Gar can attend others' funerals.

Character Name: Scorpia
OOC Limits: Not planning to kill her currently.

Desired CR: All of it! Scorpia's a very friendly person who will pretty much try to befriend anyone. So pretty much anyone can work! Receptive special friends, or people who are more annoyed and/or reluctant by her cheeriness, also fellow buff friends and/or people to protecc. She can take it all!

Event Ideas:

- She will be at the beach, for both fun antics as well as brushes with quicksand and threats in the sea. Scorpia should fight a shark.

- Scorpia will absolutely be hitting up the ball! It's her jam, so mingling and/or dancing with her are possible. As will trying to find her in the mysterious darkness afterwards!

- She will not be going ghost, but she can visit the funerals of others.

Oh this lizard is going to never want to leave the beach, ever. He'll borrow in the sand, swim, party, all of the above. Maybe he'll actually be able to speak in a complete sentence without stammering. And probably be baffled by a hot dog.

His party outfit is also embarrassing, because of course I'm going to embarrass my characters. Basically a chainmail swimsuit, let's be honest. Again, very likely to not be a nervous mess while at the party. Probably your best time to make friends.

Not sure yet if I want to do the funeral with him. He's a bit too new to have anything to really confess or unburden to anyone. But I'm more than happy to throw him at other peoples'!

Desired CR: Everything!! I definitely want to build her cr while she tries to get used to people existing in general and trying to be social:

→ Friendships! People she can look up to or get protective over and aggressively adopt or vice versa because she is so not used to that since she's the type to worry more about other people over herself.
→ Like-minded people who are suspicious about this whole thing.
→ People who can make her laugh/smile more or give her more stuff things to nerd out like anything sports related or even just bond with over artsy things or even medical things along with anyone who shares similar canon experiences to her as well.
→ People to spar and/or train with because she needs more practice.
→ People with supernatural abilities or powers in general since she recently got gained something of that sort and is still trying to figure it out.
→ People to teach her about modern things (fashion, tech, food, etc)! She's from the year 2150 but the thing about being born in space after the world already ended is that not a lot of modern things would have been invented or salvaged and brought back to space. She might be well read about Earth things but lbr it might not be accurate across worlds, there are still things that are very new to her in a lot of ways!

Event Ideas:

THE BEACH / THE BURNING FESTIVAL → From how her usual suspicion of all this will be non existent, Clarke will definitely be going to the beach and checking out the burning festival. Normally this is outside of her comfort zone but she'll be indulging in the change of scenery for once. She'll be drawn to towards the lost items too so if you want to do something with her finding something belonging to your character or vice versa I'm totally down for it. Overall she'll be taking part in the festivities with joining in with some beach games (like volleyball or going for a swim, etc) and generally mingling with people and trying to party.

I'd love to play around with the confusion aspect of this too from leaving only to end up back at the beach if anyone is similarly trying to figure this out.

BALLROOM DREAM → Clarke will be experiencing the ballroom dream too. She'll also be swept up with all this instead of leaning into her suspicions about it. I am totally open to having her dance with people or later run into anyone around the abandoned version of Deerington, maybe discussing the ballroom dance experience and winding up in the hotel in the aftermath of that.

CAN'T YOU SEE ME? → Clarke actually wouldn't be phased by her death and think she deserved it honestly since she was more or less accepting of it at her canon point being a self sacrificial idiot that she is. She has a lot of regrets, guilt and a variety of other hang ups that she never talks about openly though and keeps it all bottled up inside because that is totally a healthy coping mechanism!! I'd love to have her share some of these things only to be mortified from her own oversharing later or alternatively be the one listening to your character open up about things too!

I am open to doing any of these with current or new cr since it could be interesting for both. Additionally if you want some general hotel related meet ups or something like that outside of the event, I'm also down for that too if you prefer something lighter outside of the event. I am still debating whether I'll be top leveling but I can absolutely write closed starters if you would like to plot something out, just let me know!

Desired CR: Nico is easiest to slot in with other kids because he's from one of those canons where there aren't really adult main characters and therefore he doesn't really trust them to actually be able to get anything done, but I'm also always looking for more LGBT+ CR of any age, especially now since he's decided this month to try and come out of the closet a little more: he will still be very skittish about it so having other people like him around will help! Any adults who wouldn't mind trying to wrangle a feral death child who can teleport and might actively fight it depending upon how he gets approached, please do.

Event Ideas: Nico will be around for the various parties and I'll probably tag around for them, but I don't think I'll make top level prompts for them unless anyone is actively interested in one because I've already done a lot of partying this month oop.

However I am extremely excited for can't you see me? Nico will probably be drawn to a lot of funerals, it's sorta his thing! He will also be intrinsically aware of what needs to happen in order to help people move on from the ghostly state, and can be there to ask leading questions and prompt characters to open up about their regrets if they wouldn't be the types to do that without provocation on their own. He will also be a lot more empathetic and open with the dead than with the living (who he is a lot more guarded around.) Might also make him ghost out for it, if anyone wants to find out some of his ridiculous greek tragedy backstory shit that he refuses to talk about of his own free will otherwise.

Also looking forward to the ballroom dream aftermath, because wandering through the abandoned town sounds like excellent and like one of the more effective ways to disturb him, since he's otherwise too accustomed to monsters and death.

Event Ideas: Beach: He's not really one for going in the water, being a solid 50% metal, but he's still gonna try and relax as much as one is able to. Up for someone rescuing him when he sinks into quicksand!

Ball: No real plans here but it's a good prompt if you want to go light on the horror or just meet him for the first time and/or get to know him better. Being in the empty Deerington is also going to give him the impetus to explore the mini-events more at the end of January/beginning of February.

Funeral: Probably the best prompt for people he already has some form of CR with because he won't be too willing to talk about his life of many, many regrets with people he doesn't know all that well. His death will be him getting his chest sliced by Obi-Wan when they're a pair of old fogies.
