Character Name: Fern
Age: 17
Employment in Deerington: FEAR combat and weapons specialist, student at Deerington high, scavenging for Eda and Stan.
Residence in Deerington: 25 Raccoon Alley with Varian and Glitch. He also has a treehouse near Lake Tomie.
Day to Day Activities: Fern attends school during the day. He also has regular training sessions with a bunch of people, and regularly trains other cr in how to defend themselves.

About This Character: Fern is the result of Adventure Time's main character, Finn, getting turned into a sentient sword and then merging with another sentient cursed sword, the Grass Sword. He's now made out of grass and has various plant powers, and has two separate minds making up his Fern self: a human teenager who grew up in a post-apocalyptic Earth (and used to be a cosmic entity of change), and an eldritch horror octopus-spider. Fern's self esteem is essentially non-existent so he's often extremely self-loathing, and he generally thinks violence solves everything. On top of all that he has severe problems with his identity, having lost his previous one as Finn, and frequently questions his personhood. 
Any Warnings: Being made out of grass Fern comes with buckets of body horror! On top of that he has low self-esteem, and has a lot of issues with his identity. He also has very violent tendencies and his past involves violence against children, death and parental neglect/abuse. Grass Demon comes with cephalopod and spider imagery.

Present Life: Fern has finally stopped repressing the existence of the Grass Demon! Not keeping it in his mental vault is a huge step for him, and he's still working on what this means for him and his identity. He's doing pretty good so far, all things considered.

Fern has also begun extremely informal training sessions with several other characters to improve their skills to fight and defend themselves. It's mainly for kids/teens though he's happy to give adults some pointers, too. He's pretty flexible on what he can teach, both hand-to-hand and various weaponry. Eventually he plans on building a whole deathtrap obstacle course to go along with this because he's a feral gremlin.
Future Ideas: Fern's relationship with Varian is progressing nicely, and he's started to talk about it with his cr. You know what he needs? Love advice. He's never dated a human or a boy before, please give him any and all relationship advice, no matter how sketchy or terrible.

Portals portals portals. Thanks to Varian's canon update, Fern having the Enchiridion, and Bill being Bill, Fern has been slowly expanding his discussions of creating a working multiverse/interdimensional portal with them. He doesn't feel he can go back to Ooo, and Varian asked him to go back to Corona with him, and he has a lot of cr that have problems back home he wants to help with, so he wants to go portal hopping to solve their problems and live a good, non-dead life.

Fern is also going to be involved in Maul's breakdown in March. He won't be dying, but he'll be severely injured. His birthday is also on March 14th and he'll be turning 18, so yaaaay going to have an excellent birthday!
CR You Want: Fellow eldritch beings! Other kids and teens his age. Fern bounces really well off of morally grey/questionable characters, as well as adults who can provide him with validation since his self-esteem is shit.

He will Do His Best!!! I'm probably gonna throw up a catchall log for Feb with some of the TDM prompts in it but we can also maybe make this happen in the ballroom thread also. Ongoing Advice that may or may not actually be... good.

Ongoing advice would make the most sense I think, since right now Fern and Varian are in the "still best friends it's just complicated okay" stage, and in Feb they'll be moving to actually dating.
