AC For February + Information

Due to the severe weather occurring this month, we have decided to make February AC check-in only for those who may be without power/struggling during this time.

If you need someone to post AC for you, please get a hold of a friend or contact us so we can arrange for a mod to check-in for you. If anyone has any extenuating concerns, please let us know and we will help to accommodate anyone at this time.

For those struggling in the cold and are unfamiliar, please check out this article for helpful and safe tips on staying warm.

If your power has gone out during the cold and you are concerned about food spoiling, we suggest removing the food from your fridge and temporarily storing it in a garage/outside (in a sealed bin) to keep it fresh. We hope everyone remains safe and warm!

If anyone else has any resources or tips, please feel free to leave them below in a comment.

In-coming Game Announcement: We will also be making a major game announcement in an hour or so. We will need to adjust pages to reflect the new game information after making the post, so we ask for patience as we get that done.

Having grown up in Illinois with a dad who liked to think we lived off-grid (we didn't, we just got our power shut off a lot because we were poor) the advice about keeping food cold is good! if you have stuff you want to get to easily, if you've got a cooler you can put some snow in it along with that food. Not exactly the same as a fridge, but a similar effect!

If you have leggings or sweat pants, wear those if you can rather than jeans. Leggings under your jeans are great, but jeans themselves don't really retain any heat so your legs will probably get cold in jeans alone.

Also, if you have a tent or can make one with some blankets and sorta camp out most of the time until the power comes back on, it's much easier to heat a small area than a whole house. Tents sorta heat themselves due to the body heat of the occupants, so the more blankets and sleeping bags you can pile in there the better!

And keep your pets inside if at all possible! If you're cold, they're cold and cuddling them really helps.

Everybody take care and stay safe!
