WELCOME TO DEERINGTON!
Hello new players, and hello old players with new faces! We're thrilled to have you in the game and we hope your time here is horrifically wonderful! Please feel free to use this space to introduce yourselves to one another and show off your new characters! Below is some useful information for all new players of the game and how you can expect the game to function! You certainly do not need to read it in order to plunge into the game, but we felt it might prove useful for some people and help you adjust to how the game works quicker!
IMPORTANT: Please check out our mod announcement in regards to the end of Chapter 1 of Deerington here.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THIS MONTH
Check out this month's Prelude to catch up on what the setting will be for the month! New characters will receive any items/newspaper from the month's Prelude.
Please read our Story So Far post that will be available to all characters ICly. This is a good point of reference for anyone who wants to dig into the meaty core of the game's story.
Requirement for all new characters: Please make sure to comment with your character to the AC Page by the 20th. We will assume you've withdrawn your acceptance if we don't see your character on the AC page by then. This would be seen as idling out and you would have to wait for one application cycle before reapplying.
AC WILL NOT BE REQUIRED FOR MAY but if you are interested in Early Access we strongly recommend commenting to the AC page.

Content Warnings: Please make sure to check out our player-maintained content warnings excel sheet. We strongly encourage all players to fill this out.
STARTER INFO
While we have provided you with your essential links for joining the game, we have compiled a useful list of links you might be interested in for further immersion of the game!
↪Story So Far provides a general timeline of events that have occurred in-game for the first two years, just about. You do not need to read all of this to get into the game, but it may help with characters who are investigative.
↪ Social Media in Deerington: Social Media is a large part of how characters interact in Deerington. They use deerFeed, deerlyBeloved and Staggr. Read up more on how each of these apps function in the game and get your pages set up!
↪ Death Certificates: This will help you keep track of your character's deaths in-game as well as any symptoms they might be experiencing. Most new characters won't have to worry about this but heck, what do we know? Maybe you'll want to get to dying sooner than most!

Renarin is a cinnamon roll that was always relegated to the sidelines due to his poor health and quiet demeanor. He's not good with crowds even though he's a Prince and prefers to be on his own. Often, he can be found playing with a little metal box off on the sidelines or talking to Glys, his mistspren or spirit. He's a newly found Knight Radiant of the Order of Truthwatcher and has the Surge of Progression and Illumination. In other words, he can heal people and create illusions except his illusions are sort of corrupted due to his 'corrupted' nature. He can also see the future but has epileptic-like fits when that happens. He's from a conservative culture where men are soldiers and women are academics. The fact that he knows how to read and write makes him an outcast in his culture so he'll be shocked to see that men here are actually flaunting their reading and writing skills - how brave of them - on the network! Women also wear a sleeve on their left hand (called a safe hand) and it's considered obscene for them not to cover up their hand so expect him to quietly look away blushing when he encounters an 'uncovered' woman. Talk about culture shock!

I'm playing Castiel from Supernatural, but not the stiff in the trench coat. Well, not exactly. He used to be, but then he got on track towards a bad ending, lost his angel powers, and decided to be a drugged up hippie instead (don't call him that, or do; he hates it). Needless to say, this guy comes with a whole boatload of content warnings, so please check those out and avoid him if there's anything potentially triggery there.
There was a version of this Cas here already, I believe! So if your character had cr with him, feel free to fourth wall this one. His canon is wacky, so he's used to it. If you have cr with the OU version of Castiel, I mean they both have the same face, but this one looks tired and stoned and like he forgot what bathing is, so how recognizable he actually is is debatable lol.
Speaking of which, HI SUPERNATURAL CAST. 8) I apologize in general for this dude being the way he is, but please come at me anyway.

BUT NO HERE I AM AGAIN. This is Rona (
Amelia's number is so long it spans all the way up to her throat.
She is not a very nice lady! She is a villain fresh on the path of redemption and doesn't really remember how empathy works. Her core trauma is all about grief and loss, so BOY has she entered the game at an interesting moment.
My existing character, Ozpin RWBY, has a lot going on this endgame, so I will be very scarce with Amelia until the sandbox months. But feel free to hit me up on plurk if you want a thread.

She was here for a brief time in 2018 before I had to take a break with her for OOC reasons. I'm not sure if anyone here had CR with her, so I'm operating on a case by case basis regarding previous memories. Mostly, she doesn't remember much anything... and she's such a spazzy disaster that it's not going to be much of a bother to her.
For those who are not canon familiar, Felicia is a very loyal bodyguard maid to the protagonist of this particular game and, despite being a maid, she is terrible at all tasks that are remotely domestic. She's a far better combatant than she is cook, but she is as sweet as cotton candy and remains upbeat about everything.

So this is CC coming back with Rose Tyler from Doctor Who! I have no idea who's here outside of the DW/TW cast which I kept up with from 10-mun!
2020 was a helluva thing, huh? XDDD ahhhhhh......... So I was here in end of 2019 but what I thought was an ulcer, turned into an allergic reaction to anesthesia, which led to a coma, which led to a ventilator, which led to I needed surgery but my heart had to recover from ventilator/coma, so basically: 2020 sucked for everyone. TLDR, had a lung removed, but I feel 10 years younger?!?! SOMEHOW?!?!? But that's totes awesome! So I'm back, with a vengeance and looking forward to Chapter 2!!!
