Adjustments to Existing Rewards

After consideration regarding a few concerns players have had, we have adjusted rewards to be more equally accessible to all players. The following changes have been made:

➟ You may only unlock THREE locations a year. You must wait four months between each unlock. Once you have hit your year anniversary of joining the game, you will be able to unlock three locations once again. These do not roll over. Meaning you can't save up your unlocks. If you don't use your three unlocks in a given year, they just go away.

This will allow more players the chance to unlock locations as well as provide the mod team ample time to create fully fleshed out mini-plots for the players. Thank you for understanding!

➟ Some prices on the locations have been changed in order to increase difficulty gaining them. Prices on rewards may change if we feel they have become too easy.

New Rewards

We have two new rewards to introduce to the game that can be purchased using your points!

Both of these new rewards go into effect on September 1st. Do not make requests for these rewards before then.

➟ We have created a Personal Horrors reward for characters! You can buy one Personal Horror per month. These are smaller temporary experiences that your character will have to deal with. When requesting, you can include themes or types of horror that you do not want so that you aren't given something you wouldn't want to write, but otherwise these will be a surprise. They will not be as involved as the main monthly events and will be open for you to interpret in a way that is fun for you. You can chose to thread out these things with others or play out the aftermath.

All Personal Horrors will either last a certain amount of time (ex: a week spent as a lobster) or can only be concluded when a certain condition has been met (ex: using holy water to exercise the demon out of a possessed character).

➟ We will now be making Surprise Grants rewards! You can buy one Surprise Grant every other month. As most items granted through surprise grants are unique items that will usually be powerful or particularly helpful, we decided that it would make for a suitable reward! It will arrive in the same fashion as traditional Surprise Grants, but now will provide another fun incentive for active players! This means that the old Surprise Grants page will be deleted and that players will have to request surprise grants through the rewards page. Surprise Grants will always be random. As always, let us know any limits you may have (ie; grants that hurt the character, etc).

Regarding Items In Game

As for items in game: please make sure you are responsible and fair about what items your characters are in possession of.

Understand that a town set in the 1950s in America isn't going to have a lot of materials laying around outside of what you'd find in an average town setting. Technology at the local hardware store is going to be your standard bolts and nails.

Certain materials would have to be received through rewards. This helps bring some realism into the game as well as making characters face struggles outside of typical horror scenarios. This applies to magical items as well.

We plan to monitor this more closely in the future. Thank you.

Upcoming Events

As previously stated, we will be holding test drive memes monthly now. Our test drive memes will go up on the last day of every month. Please look out for our test drive on August 31st! The theme will be Occult Horror. Lauren has officially started to advertise Deerington, so we hope to see some new faces! Thank you Lauren!

You can expect a Deerington Post on August 30th! This post will include two character sign ups. One will include an IC prize raffle!

Our new application will be in effect on September 1st. The application will mostly be the same, but cleaned up and made more effective. Please make sure to use the correct application when applications are due!
