Welcome to the newest event! This is an exciting time and the event provides several chance encounters for your characters. Remember, everyone, all things in this game has consequences so don't think this will be the last you hear of this event.

John Blake | The Dark Knight Rises

Character Name: John Blake
CR Wanted: OTA, but would like to make at least one new connection this month!
CR Not Wanted: CR where Blake is forced to kill (someone or for someone), for the most part. There are exceptions, but it would need to be carefully planned.
Ideas/Wishes pertaining the event:


OCTOBER 3rd: Blake's going to be vomiting blood and being too disoriented to walk or see straight, so that will be fun. May be open to plotting with someone on this, so hit me up if you want... a crime scene of blood vomit... for funsies.

THE DEERINGTON POST: John will NOT be receiving the post, but will eventually catch wind of the riddle and dive in to help out. He'll work with anyone who offers, but will very likely be working initially with his face twin, Arthur, because why not?

BEAST VS. WITCH: Neither of these for Blake! But he's open to wrestling with beasts and witches and trying to save anyone that might need saving. He's not going to be much of a fan of all of this, but since he'll have so much energy (from the moon), he might as well be useful.

HART MART SHOWDOWN: Since Blake will have keys to the Hart Mart, I'd love an opportunity to have a tense showdown between someone looking to loot and Blake trying to be a lawful good employee. :D He's still injured from the last event, so he won't be nearly as difficult to subdue.

NO MAN'S LAND: We're going to Gotham!! Or... some amalgamation or representation thereof. Characters that enter this landscape will be met with The Narrows, where Blake cut his teeth as a beat cop. As with anything taking place in Gotham, expect a sense of everlasting night, as days are very dreary and a thin fog never seems to lift from the city.

DAYTIME VISIT: The Host will be Blake himself. He'll be in Stepford Smiler mode. During the day, there will be a steady calm. Regular citizens will have no discernible qualities and will be "scratched out" of the landscape.

NIGHTTIME VISIT: The Host will be The Batman (aka Blake but no one really knows that yet, shhh). The streets will be slightly less predictable, but will remain controlled regardless, almost as if martial law has been implemented. Infrequently, an enemy may appear: a crocodile, a scarecrow, a clown, oh my...

WILDCARD: Literally open to anything. I love hilarious or weird threads, strange opportunities for CR, etc, so hit me up if you want to do something a little spoopy or different.

how would blake like to deal with a murdercat and potentially go into his no man's land...?

As long as he doesn't have to get too violent in the process, I'm down. What kind of standoff are you expecting? Knock down, drag out? Or cat and mouse?

probably more cat and mouse given his beast mode! you could easily set the jaws theme on him. do you want to get into his no man's land too?

How do people even get out of No Man's Land? 🤔

Anyway, let's definitely do cat and mouse and we'll see where that puts us. If it looks like No Man's Land is the only way to save himself, Blake will go that route, obviously, haha, but if he can escape, then he will.

there's a ritual altar in a no man's land that's missing an item, and finding and replacing that item will let blake escape it and save the person transformed. the host'll help. probably hahahahhhhh. x'rhun's host is a little asshole

Does someone keep moving the item from the altar, though? Why does it reset with every person? Hahaha

Anyway, yes, let's plan to go in that direction. o/

Would you want to do something? I have my very vague plans for Nat over here, but I'm pretty open, honestly.

I would love for her to meet Batman, negl. And No Man's Land stuff is totally my jam, so if he wants to come see hers, that's an option too. Just warning for Bad Times, of course.

AND did you want to keep poking at their TDM thread? I'm totally down for it if you want to! I'm trashy and seeing where things go with these two high on happy/affection magic amuses me. :P BUT I'm also cool with handwaving in order to jump into other stuff since I know not everyone's into multi-threading. XD

I really like the idea of him going to her No Man's Land. If it's Red Room stuff then I'm extra down because kids are involved and Blake will literally have his soul die right there forever. But even if not, I'm down. Whatcha got in mind for outcome on that?

As for the TDM thread, I'm cool with working that, too. Might be a bit slower, but we can certainly keep pushing and see where it goes. /o/

It is 100% going to be Red Room stuff. My idea is that it open to whomever stumbles in having to free Nat from shadow paper doll little girls and gets progressively worse from there. So! How do you feel about the systematic torture and and dehumanization of little girls, Blake? There might also be some SHIELD/Avengers stuff too, but a lot of what she struggles with is her past, so I imagine her NML will definitely be tilted in that direction.

As far as outcome... I don't really know, sort of want to see how things go, though I'm thinking of maybe having her go full transformation and eventually getting fixed via various people finding her Precious Things... though she'll have at least a broken collarbone and a couple ribs in the aftermath. If Blake wants an excuse to check in on her later~

Awesomesauce! Just wanted to check since I'm usually the type the tends to let TDM things go once the Game Event is up, but they're having so much fun :D

We can do whatever you like with the No Man's Land, but I think the only way in is the tattoo, so at least we can rely on the TDM thread to get a reveal on that if we want to dump right into it from the full transformation. \o\

Blake is CRAU, though, so I should disclose that since I'm not sure I made it obvious! I have an opt-out post here. He's never actually met Natasha in this game timeline, so no canon puncturing worries there, but I like to offer it since he tends to ramble about past game locations a lot when given the chance (and compare experiences from those games).

So, yeah, that's what I've got! I'm not sure that was any help... lol

I am totally a-okay with CRAU stuff since he didn't actually meet her! I mean, she knows about Asgard and the nine realms and so on so the idea that he ended up somewhere else before Deerington wont be too weird to her, honestly. She might even talk a bit about Thor being sent to Earth if he brings it up. That's the same thing, right?

Oh yes, right. Her tattoo is on the inside of both of her wrists, and Nat's beast form isn't going to be particularly giant so it should be pretty easy to get a hand on one of them since I don't think she'll be particularly protecting them. Though tbh for her log I think I'm going to split the NML prompts versus the combat prompts so we can either play that out or just do jazzhands.

Poor Blake. And I can't promise she'll be the nicest person when he checks in on her, but she'll appreciate it anyway. :>

However you're comfortable going about the NML stuff is good with me! If you've got a prompt to dump us right in, I'm totally good with that. Pretty chill overall, so jazzhands is also great!

As for whether she'll be the nicest person to him or not... haha, no big deal, he's used to dealing with all kinds of Grumpy McGrumperfaces, no big deal. 8D

And yeah, true. Just expect her to be grumpy and insist she's ~fine~ even if she can't raise her arm and breathing hurts.
