June OOC Introduction Post
WELCOME TO DEERINGTON!
Hello new players, and hello old players with new faces! We're thrilled to have you in the game and we hope your time here is horrifically wonderful! Please feel free to use this space to introduce yourselves to one another and show off your new characters! Below is some useful information for all new players of the game and how you can expect the game to function! You certainly do not need to read it in order to plunge into the game, but we felt it might prove useful for some people and help you adjust to how the game works quicker!
EVENTS AND MEMES
We have an IC Prelude Post made by our NPC, the Dog Keeper, in the DeerFeed community. This functions as an edition of the Deerington Post that all characters are ICly capable of receiving. It will give hints and suggestions to what you can expect from the upcoming event without giving full details, and it also clarifies things like the weather in Deerington or other important IC details for the month, such as severe impacts on characters or the environment. Prelude Posts are made at the first of every month.
We hold one event per month. Many of our events have a lasting impact on characters that will sometimes carry over a month or two after the original posting. We always clarify what parts of these events may carry over, and even as a new player, you may be able to access certain elements from events posted before you were in game! Events can be found in the
deerington community and carry over events will be linked in the new event posts for reference.We provide content warnings for each of our events. Each event typically has a specific horror focus, and some events may be more specific than others. Please make sure to read the content warnings closely. All of our events are specifically designed so players can feel comfortable opting out of any of the events without completely missing out on what's going on. Never feel you have to engage with any part of an event that makes you uncomfortable!
With every event we post a plotting post so that everyone can dig in on what they want to plan for the event. This is posted at the same time as the event.
We have a CR meme that is posted every other month. This encourages people to make long-term plans with each other as well as catch up on what characters might be going through in the game!
Our Test Drive Meme is posted on the 25th of every month. All TDM events can be used in game canon! You can also use direct TDM posts as AC! 10 points for a top-level (new characters only), 3 points per log comment, 1 point per network comment (all players).
Our Activity Check always begins on the first and closes on the fifth. Please remember to comment to this post so you can submit your AC! One of our players has made a helpful tracker for those who may be interested!
USEFUL LINKS AND INFORMATION
While we have provided you with your essential links for joining the game, we have compiled a useful list of links you might be interested in for further immersion of the game!↪ The Dog Keeper: The Dog Keeper is probably the most interactive and consistent of the NPCs in our game. You can actively contact and communicate with the Dog Keeper, but don't always expect an immediate response! Heck, sometimes he won't respond at all. You can find further information about the Dog Keeper here and more about his dogs here.
↪ The Deerly Beloved App: This was a "dating application" made for the game back in the 2019 February Event. The application is a bit of a hacking-app that will break itself into a character's phone and potentially use fourth wall information to make up a silly Tinder-style profile. Feel free to put this on your journal for your character and have fun with it! It is 100% optional.
↪ The Bestiary: This is a good reference to the beasts your character may be able to interact with inside of the game. Some of them are very situational or location based, but we have provided the monsters that might routinely be seen throughout the game. Feel free to dig right into playing around with them!
↪ Game Calendar: Most of our posts are consistently made the same dates every month, such as our AC and our applications, but we make sure to post when game-events can be expected! Most game events are made between the 11th to the 15th. We try to update the calendar at least one week before the end of each month.
↪ Death Certificates: This will help you keep track of your character's deaths in game as well as any symptoms they might be experiencing. Most new characters won't have to worry about this but heck, what do we know? Maybe you'll want to get to dying sooner than most!

I’m Chris!! The second one apparently, and I’m posting to you via my phone from my Florida vacation, so pretend there’s a gif here! I’m bringing Mollymauk Tealeaf from Critical Role and he’s just about the most delightful nihiliist you’ll ever meet. He’s a tiefling! He used to be a carnie! And his canon point is the end of episode 26, so Things Happened.
I’m gonna be not very present until Saturday but trust I am stoked to be here!! I just wanted to catch the app round before it closed.

I'm Julio, and I play Max Caulfield here from Life is Strange, which is a sad game, lol. I'm a big fan of Critical Role, and though I'm not caught up on campaign 2, I am definitely past episode 26! So I am deeeefs looking forward to playing with you. Max will find Mollymauk hella strange at first but he will grow on her really quickly.

I'm just getting into Critical Role with the second campaign and I'm in love. I'm not very far yet but I do know a lot of the spoilers, mostly concerning Molly.
Play Quentin from The Magicians, who is a huge DnD nerd. It's debated in his canon whether some nerdy Magician figured out a way to make Magic Missle real, or Magic Missle was a Magician's spell imported to the game--it's a Whole Thing. I'd love for some CR with these two!

Anyway yes hi I'm Bella, I play Yasha (and a loser disaster original character called Sarissa) and I am SO excited for adventures to unfold.
