Re: Motorball (particularly Drachma wins) and the "Survival" of the Dome, are there any particular rules for adjudicating the wins, or are there enough rounds going that it is more or less a "Play fair about this" rule?

So, I'm planning to have Vira-Lorr go up against the spawn of the facehugger that killed her during the egg event. The plan is for her to come out on top. Can she... uh... hollow its skull out and make a shield/trophy out of it?

Because she really wants to do that.

The Special Item in the dome for each team - Is it part of the Outfit (and therefore cannot be removed from the dome)? I am currently assuming yes as, gaining ammunition, gear and weapons is one thing, but magical 'stop!' necklaces another.

Event Ideas: Lance will definitely be participating in pretty much all aspects of this event.

I am interested in every obstacle and game there is, also in the competitive affect of the food possibly making characters violent towards each other to get those sweet sweet loot rewards. Lance is vulnerable to mind altering aspects of events making him lose his shit and hurt people if pushed hard enough after his sanity was partially eaten by a monster in January, so if you want some drama with that, hit me up. I am also interested in killing him via self sacrifice or someone killing him to protect someone else. I am also especially interested in all things Xenomorph, ok.

At some point, I'd love to have Lance turn into a big-ass shark and re-enact Sam Jackson's death in Deep Blue sea (cw: shark eats him) with someone. I also am down to have him kill your character at some point in some way if you're looking for that. Let's have some bloody roaring good games!

Event Ideas:
Bucky will be eating the food at town hall and he will wind up in the dome fighting for actual food for his loved ones. I may also do a prompt with him drinking The Waltz and getting violent as a result, maybe pairing that with hide and seek.

Mostly, I would like to play with the dome prompts. I'm down for Bucky hurting or killing others and for him to be hurt or possibly even killed himself. He's been here over a year, so it just might be time for his second death. The dome effects that interest me the most would be dealing with blood rain, fog, truth-telling or bloodlust.

I'd also love to play with telepathy with fellow team wolves, whether it's trying to stick by close cr after the disorientation of being separated becomes clear or meeting new cr that way. Maybe also some body horror wolf shit?

Dress to Impress:
She's gonna eat, especially if she figures out that the side-effect is mostly just energy and competitiveness, because she'll feel like she can keep it under control. (That's the competitiveness talking, Maxine.) Eventually it'll get to be too much and she'll give and head to The Dome. I have nothing specific planned for the drinks, but if anyone wants to thread something out, I'm totally game for that.

The Dome:
Eventually she's going to give in and head to The Dome. She might do this a few times throughout the event. I'm gonna warn here that she is going to be hella competitive the latter few times she tries it, especially as she gets a feel for her new found strength and her ability to actually win/survive the game. Couple her strength with her rewinds? She is going to be a force to be reckoned with. She can still be tired out and her rewinds will eventually wear her down, though! (But watch out for the bloodlust hour...)

It'd be great if there are other bear people who'd like to team up! While competitive, she won't have the mind to turn on them. Not unless they do it first!

Totally also up for Max injuring anyone (or worse...) especially toward the end of the event. I might have her last time going to The Dome be her at peak competitiveness and end horribly all around.

Also if anyone actually wants to get the better of Max and beating her, that'd be cool too. I'm up for that going as far as we'd like, especially if it's a betrayal by a fellow bear. (She is far too trusting sometimes.)

She'll mostly be giving away her winnings too. Food and medicine for anyone who needs it. It's part of her justification for being so competitive in the game.

Motorball:
As a bear Max is gonna understand that this is not the right game for her, and that she's not good enough to win it on skates anyway. That said, I'm up for anything here if you want something specific.

Ready or Not:
Seeker or hider, I'm game for it all! I'd like to have her actually fight a xenomorph with someone though. That'd be intense.

- kenzi will be running from xenomorphs. she has no powers but she cannot be fatally harmed either because of a special magic twig she has. so she will try to help others who are fighting them to at least get away to safety.

- kenzi loves bambi so you know she will try to help the deer and say hello.

Desired CR: Any and all. Fern works really well with adults since he's intrinsically trusting of them and gets attached easily. He's also good for negative cr since it's pretty easy to set off his more negative characteristics (his temper, jealousy, tendency towards violence, his low self esteem, etc...). Team Wolf cr would be great with the pack mechanic, though I'm also very interested in cross-team cr as well.
Unwanted CR: None! I love positive and negative cr, give it to me.

Team: Wolf
Event Ideas:
The Dome: Down for any team-ups! Fern might not need to eat, but he knows plenty of people who do and would want to help them out. The only hours I'm not interested in are 1 and 5.

Hide and Seek: I'm interested in Fern being a Seeker for this. His injuries would be pretty severe or result in death though, rather than being something relatively tame. Also interested in fighting a xenomorph!

General Team Shenanigans:
Shapeshifting: Fern will be retaining his plant nature for the entire event though will occasionally be shifting into a grassy, scraggly adolescent wolf (thanks Robin for the gorgeous art!) with wolf-themed plants growing on his body (some edible, some poisonous). With the shapeshifting may come some wolf behaviour.

Telepathy: Fern currently has two minds jammed into one body attempting to operate as one individual, so this will be loads of fun! With thoughts now coming from other, entirely separate people, he'll be very confused and distressed for the event, and have problems distinguishing which thoughts are his and which aren't. His own thoughts will be multiple, simultaneous streams of consciousness, the Grass Demon's being more morbid or violent. If anyone on Team Wolf would like the Grass Demon's thoughts to negatively influence their character like he does Fern let me know!

The lack of fear will help him a little, but it isn't going to be enough to keep him from having trouble coping with this whole business. He will likely start sleepwalking because of this.

Pack living: The disorientation when alone will also be stressing him out, so when he realizes that is solved by being around other wolves he'll do his best to stick near teammates (Will Graham in particular). I'm very interested in any Team Wolf shared living situations! Additionally, Fern now has an antler wreath that provides protection for a house against monsters that he'd bring along.

Supply shortage: The last idea I had relates to the supply shortage in general. Fern, while mostly unaffected by the supply shortage since he only needs sunlight and water, can grow plants and fungi on his body. I'd love to do something with Fern's ability to grow food and the fact that he isn't actively trying to help the rest of the town with it. Someone hassling him or thinking that's really creepy or anything, really, I think it's a neat mechanic that could be fun to play with.

Once we’ve got something established, I’d be happy to move to Plurk for ensuing conversations. You can hit me up privately at ampersandie for that. I’d just strongly prefer not to do too much heavy lifting through Plurk. It moves too fast for me and I’m always afraid I’m going to miss something.
OOC Limits: I’d rather not subject Wrench to death just yet, but I’m pretty willing to negotiate anything up to that point.

Desired CR: Heap it on me, please. He’s brand new to Deerington, and I’d love to get started with some foundational things here. I’m open to positive, negative, and all stops in between. Right now in his struggle to understand this place and the circumstances that have brought him here, Wrench is rationalizing Deerington as something close to purgatory. For that reason he’s inclined to see everyone he meets as being a reflection of some value he’s lacking or lesson he needs to internalize. I think he’ll settle down in time, but that’s all to say that I am more than happy to make him into what you need for your character as well. If there’s something you’ve really been wanting to put them through, let’s see what I can do for you.

More specifically for Wrench, here are a few starter ideas:

▸ I’d love to give him some encounters with non-humans, or non-Homo sapiens. His world is a pretty standard one, and while it holds room for the supernatural he’s not encountered much of it himself. Wrench has met some magic-wielders and some people-who-don’t-look-like-people so far, but I’d love to keep putting more of them in his face to see how he reacts.

▸ With all the young ones running around Deerington and this theme I’ve seen of “adopting children,” I’ve really started thinking about what this might do to Wrench given his own upbringing. The canon is a little fuzzy but it’s heavily implied that as a young child he was probably kidnapped, or in some other way taken under the heavy influence of a mob boss and raised up within a crime syndicate. There’s a lot of agency that was stripped from his life at a young age and he was subjected to some pretty harsh realities early on, and I think that’s going to make for some inner tumult to see other youth-types enduring these horrors. Wrench is probably not going to be the “collector” of lost children here, but if any kids out there with a tragic backstory want to cross his path, I’d like to see what it brings out in him.

▸ Because of his aforementioned beliefs in rationalizing Deerington to himself, I imagine a lot of push and pull between his previous way of life, and what he could be absent those influences. I’d love to start delving into that struggle with characters who feel strongly passionate one way or the other: unsavory types, or those on a mission to save all these poor mortal souls.

▸ Communication friction or function. Wrench is Deaf. (Further information here.) How could his approach to communication benefit or fuck with your character? NOTE: There’s some stuff here I’m currently not open to. My hard limit with this is that no character with the ability to do so “fix” this for him. Telepathic communication accepted with prior conversation, but please don’t swoop in and make him hear.

Unwanted CR: NA - I can’t think of anything I wouldn’t want at this point.

Team: Falcon
Event Ideas:

▸ Hide and Seek. I’d love to play an extremely uneven power dynamic here. Wrench as a seeker who can’t resist the urge to hurt someone considerably less robust and powerful than himself, or Wrench as a hider being stalked by someone who’s got a leg up on him in strategy, brains, and magical ability.

▸ Thunderdome. I’m very interested in this, particularly teaming up. Wrench can be one loud motherfucker (quite unintentionally, and quite without his ken) so the shrug is about the best gift for this guy ever, despite the fact that he may not fully realize its impact. This guy is arguably much better as a partner, and finds the majority of his motivation in what he can do for others. Everyone feel free to apply; not limited to Team Falcon.

To that end I’m also more than happy to make him a liability, so if you want to make things especially difficult on yourself or your character, please feel free to adopt him as one of your own and then let me fuck things up by making him rather galumphing and obtuse. Folks I hit the TDM with probably got a taste of this. More to come, if anyone specifically wants it.

▸ Dress to Impress. He’ll undoubtedly be there. Little known fact: Wrench is a fantastic dancer, so he probably won’t know what hit him until it’s too late. Happy to play some more mature CR in this location, provided nothing sticks. Poor decisions are the name of the game.

Desired CR: Positive and Negative are good. Cross-team shenanigans are always fun. Looking for a good target for her red paper during the event.
Unwanted CR: Vira-Lorr will play competitively, but she's not going to be actively trying to cause permanent harm to another person.

Team: Fish
Event Ideas:
1) Dinner Party - Vira Lorr has expressed her distaste pretty publicly for this entire affair, but she will go once, to make sure that friends going are safe. She'll be pretty disgusted and trying to go easy on the food and drink, especially drinks and sweets... because bad experiences.

I may do something with one of the drinks, if anyone's up for it.

2) The Dome: I'm bigger on the dome than Motorball. Cooperative protection against the environmental things is very much an available option. She is willing to work cross-teams for the sake of people she is on good terms with (and will be reluctant to attack them). She might willingly get into a fight designed to incapacitate someone from another team.

Ample options exist in all of the hourly mini-eventss. She'll be hitting the dome up a few times throughout the next few months, "playing his game" for no other reason than that she feels certain of her skills. And there may be several close calls, but she'll do well enough through the next months to get by.

3) Motorball: I'm up for her getting her ass handed to her a couple times in motorball. Nothing permanently debilitating but definitely enough to visit the big deer.

Once during the event I would like her to very obviously get lucky and win, claiming a single two-drachma prize. But I think I'd like it to be obviously more of a 'lucky moment' for her, not a matter of skill. This isn't her forte, and she only keeps trying when she sees charged drachma as the prize.

4) The Xenomorph: Oh, she's doing this. See, she died from a Facehugger a few months back, and now it wants round two. I am absolutely doing an event between the two of them in September because she wants payback when her memories are back.

As much as Skye doesn’t trust the whole set up at Deerington Hall, she is desperate to get food not just for herself but others. So she will show up. I don’t have that much planned out in my head right now, but if there’s something you’d like to do let me know!

Well I’m looking forward to this event specifically for making new CR. So whether our characters are on the same team, or Skye sees someone on another team in need of help these are two things I’d love to play out. All of the prompts during these hours in the dome, minus the Taste of Flesh and being straight up tortured, I’m so beyond down to play.

Skye also happens to have a power, which could come in handy during all of this. That being said, she does have a broken arm. Which is a slight disadvantage.

Hide and seek is also something I’m interested in playing out. Either role is fine by me, so if you’re interested in that HMU!

For Team Wolf, I’d love for this to be a chance to make new CR. Especially outside of the dome.

Billy's going to be wearing this outfit because it really says "fancy but still a fuckboy" (blame cee for this).

I'd especially love for him to try The Waltz drink but I'm open to any of them! I'm also interested in anyone who has the 'feeling extra competitive' side effect to come up against Billy while he's unaffected, just so he can get a taste of his own medicine with someone trying to challenge him and not leaving him the hell alone.

Hide and Seek

Really down for any of this, with him as the hider or the seeker. Hider would be a fun role reversal, seeker would ramp up his destructive urges.

General

He's Team Bear but I'm down for CR with anyone on any team! He's got a lot of strength now and probably definitely isn't going to be responsible with it (though he guesses if you're his stupid friend or something he might look out for you, especially if you're on a wimpy team, but you owe him one).

Dome and motorball stuff is also welcome if you have any specific things you want to play, I just didn't have any detailed ideas. I am potentially down for him killing someone if you want that.

Event Ideas: So I'm leaning into the rabbit/hide and seek paranoia and body horror for this event. Steve's going to be stressed and trying to do everything to protect the people he cares about. Turning into a rabbit is going to be fine, but turning back into human Steve is going to be excruciatingly painful and leave Steve in a very vulnerable position for an hour or so. I'm keen to have a thread or two exploring these two things in multiple contexts!

I don't have an outfit in mind at the moment, but I'm sure it'll be in blues and grays.

The Dome: Expect John to keep returning (as long as he's able). He's going to try banking food with wins, so it's all part of some strategy, I don't know. Since he's a rabbit (and well trained once upon a time), he'll be hard to catch, but I'm not beyond John earning a death from this (preferably closer to the end of the month) since his disadvantages are pretty steep. Environmental elements I'm interested in: wasps from hell, quicksand, blood rain, hour of truth, hunter of hunters, the winds are changing, rearrangement.

Ready or Not, Here We Come: Open to John being the seeker or the hider. He'll do this once or twice, time permitting. Also a death option here if this interests someone more.

The Dome
While Shades is team Bear he'll still probably need help against the cornucopia centipedes, so I'd love some teamwork to get past them and snag some survival gear. Additionally, since the bear members need to rest longer to recharge, I love the idea of watching over each other while and helping each other out with obstacles in general.

I'm definitely interested in doing a number of the Dome prompts, and while I'm open to a few injuries in some of them, Shades will be destined to die in hour 10. I'm also quite open to him injuring/maiming/killing/eating any other character, so please hit me up!

I think he'll make it through one round of the games, come back for seconds, and die. After that he'll stay away, no thank you.

Hide and Seek
Mostly I'm opting out of this prompt for August. He'll be dead for some of the month but when he comes back he won't be effected but will likely be hiding out in Ashe's manor for the duration. In September I might throw him into this, I haven't decided. Might mess up some xenomorphs and help the deer. Open to plotting here.

Event Ideas: Look, Crowley needs medical supplies and Aru needs food. There's no way Aziraphale wasn't going to go into the Very Obvious Trap, if there was even the slightest chance of getting those things for them.

Once the event starts, Aziraphale's wings will be out permanently, only instead of pure white, they'll look like a pair of Gyrfalcon's wings. He's not going to be happy about this, not at all. His wings are supposed to be pure white, shining and pearlescent and radiant! Not speckled and marred with darkness! He's going to have a lot of anxiety over it, even if he tries to hide it.


This is what he'll end up wearing at the party, and exactly how he feels about what it. Especially when he finds out that his actual clothes are now just gone. He's going to be pouting for weeks! And. You know. Actually stuck in that outfit until he can buy replacement clothes! AHAHAHA

The poor hedonist has also been not eating anything for a while, now, and even though he doesn't need food, he enjoys it, a lot. So when he sees that table full of really fancy foods, he's gonna break! Eat one of everything! It doesn't matter that he originally came to see if he can get food for Aru and medical supplies, he'll eat a lot before he tries to leave with food that just disappears! Food is one of his biggest weaknesses, after all, even if he doesn't need it.

I don't want him to drink the dancing fever drink, but he is going to know what's afflicting the people who have, or at least will have seen something similar to it. He was around when the Dancing Plague happened, he remembers seeing its effects. Only this time, he won't be able to do anything to make them stop, and that will be upsetting for him. Hungry Hungry Hippo or The Waltz, however, are completely on the table. The one I know he probably will have is The Waltz. Someone please get the angel a glass of that glacier drink before he hurts himself!

Once he leaves the party, he'll head to the dome, and once he's in the Hunger Games jungle, his first instinct will be to fly as high as he can and just wait it out in the trees. Which will probably warrant him a good shock, so the idiots going to be starting off on a bad food, anyway. He can actually fight, he fought in the first war between Heaven and Hell, after all, but he doesn't like it. He doesn't want to hurt anyone, so he'll do his best to try not to until he absolutely has to.

If he gets caught in the effects of one of the hours that makes people want to hurt others, he'll try to separate himself from others as quickly as he can once he starts to realize what's happening. Other then "no, he's not going to eat anyone," pretty much anything people have ideas for, I'm up for plotting, even if you want to have your character try to eat him! His main survival instinct will be to just stay in the trees for as long as he can, to use them for cover and to stay out of range of most weapons or creatures. It's going to be a very miserable 24 hours or him, though. And yes, anyone who wants to have their character see him on the television is more then welcome to. :V

Afterward, he's probably going to actually lay claim to that spare bedroom in the house that's technically been his the entire time, if only to sleep off the wounds he gets. And pout about his lost clothes. And hide from horrible, horrible Deerington and its horrible traps, if only for a little while.

Until he gets a ding on his phone about hide and seek. He'll definitely be a Hider, because I can't not engage in Aliens-style survival horror! He'll probably just conveniently come across the Black Deer if things get too horrible with Xenomorphs.

DOME

anyway. most interested in hour 8 with them being hunted by those slippery guys, but i think is a prime opportunity for them to encounter their first very disastrous power warp. their transportation tethers (you ever heard of the game portal...) have a chance of glitching out and using their fusion tethering instead, and this can make monsters worse. who wants a slippery guy but worse. they can provide. they won't be happy about it.

anyway other than that i'm interested in hour 10 and having them get caught up in bloodlust, if anyone wants to encounter them in such a state.

HIDE AND SEEK
teth is going to be a seeker. HILARIOUSLY they literally own alien on dvd, they have it with them, they are familiar with like ZERO POP CULTURE but this is the ONE thing they know. they will be very alarmed, and more alarmed that its, uh, working with them?!

until they get really messed up over the urge to find a hider and i guess succumb to that. have... fun....

i could potentially be interested in having them accidentally body horror themself with their power while pursuing a hider, which is like, very hard to reverse considering they personally can't do so without a Separator who will probably never be in this game so. that would probably include a longer term plot for them here, since i think the easiest way to reverse it would be for them to die. whoops. i just think this provides a good opportunity for it, and it'd be an easy way to ensure your hider escapes them.

Definitely down for him being attacked, but otherwise, he'll probably be spending his time flying himself up into the trees and trying to hide out there until the 24 hours are up. One thing he might be doing is flying up high watching people below and then swooping down when someone's about to die to snatch one up and drop them on the other side of the forest : D so there's that option too.

Hide & Seek, I'm down for either role here. At least at some point, 1, Jack will try to fight a xenomorph and get his ass handed to him and a huge acid burn, because he needs to learn a lesson about his mortality. or, at least, that shit might not kill you, but it'll still fucking hurt. But anyone's welcome to heal him, or drag his lame ass away from the alien before it eats him, etc etc. At another point, Jack's going to get Seeker and lose his damn mind and go like 80% satan. because jack being occasionally fucking terrifying is my favorite. think wrathful avenging angel, but with fire and rage, and also a teenager.

Up until that point he will be asking people to dance (though not in a "to the death" way), so lmk if you want to go cheek-to-cheek with the most charming X-Man. I'm also happy for the poor elf to accidentally get wasted on the Waltz.

UNDER THE HUNGER DOME

This will be.. surprisingly familiar for Kurt. Like, he does this shit on the reg. The Hunger Games twist will be a new one but otherwise he's an old pro at "tossed into [mysterious place] to fight to the death", so let him take you under his wing and teach you how to survive! He's definitely going to have at least three swords at all times.

I'm especially interested in breaking him playing out Hour 6, 8 or Hour 10, potentially with some partial wolf transformation as he gives in to his animal side (and then immediately regrets it as soon as he snaps out of it again).

XENOMORPHS 'R' US

Other than the Dome, Kurt will be mostly avoiding the rest of the games and concentrating on protecting the town and other Sleepers from the xenomorphs. Though he won't be teleporting, he can still become invisible in the shadows and is an expert fighter, so the aliens should prepare to get sliced and diced.

I'm happy to have him team up/save people, or even have a good fight go really, really badly.

GENERAL TEAM THINGS

I'd love for Kurt to meet other Wolves, especially since he can provide some guidance and comfort if people are freaked out by the telepathy, plus you'll get a bonus extra cuddly extra furry elf.
