WELCOME OUR NEW MOD!

Hello Deerlings!

We recently decided that we needed additional help to make the game run smoother. Thank you to everyone who applied for this position of Primary Helper Mod! It was difficult to narrow down the choices, but eventually we settled on Charley!

Everyone say hello to your new Primary Helper Mod! Charley will be serving as our primary back-up for when things get tight. The role of the Primary Helper Mod will be to make sure pages are kept in check when we might not be able to and to help maintain lists in the game. Charley will be available to help players out with questions or updates if necessary!

Additionally we have decided to compile a small helper team to read over events, preludes, and TDMs to help us tighten up the writing! We hope that this can help to prevent errors or clumsy/confusing wording in future postings!

A big thank you to the game for continually being so supportive as we improve our mechanics!

HOLIDAYS GIFT FOR THE GAME!

Tis the season to be merry and generous, are we right or are we right?

We thought that this holiday season it would be nice to grant the entire game a gift! Instead of giving you the month off for AC check-in, we're going to give everyone an AC Pass.

This AC Pass can be used at anytime (including for AC due from November! So long as you comment here before posting your AC check in). You get only one per character and the pass can only be used once.

This means that you can use the pass instead of taking a strike on a month you might of missed AC without a hiatus! Or maybe you just don't feel like filling out AC and just want to take the pass instead of a strike.

In order to claim your AC pass, please comment to this post using the journal for that character! Please make sure to put your character's name in the header. If you play multiple characters this does mean you'll have to leave a comment from each journal.

You must claim this pass within December. You cannot come back to this post come January for the claim. Other people cannot get the claim for you. It has to be from your character's journal.

New players accepted during the December application cycle can also claim this gift! When you're accepted into the game just comment to this post with your character's journal!

Whenever you decide you want to use this AC Pass, you'll have to link to your comment on this page as proof of claiming the pass during the gift month. This means that your AC check in for whatever month you're using the pass for would look like this:

ATMOSPHERIC SHIFTS FOR JANUARY AND FEBRUARY

As a reminder!

The majority of Deerington events offer extremely clear-cut opt-outs for the prompts available. We want to give a large warning that the setting of Deerington will be drastically different for January and February.

Characters will be temporarily placed in two different locations that are not Deerington for these two months. They will only have access to a suitcase worth of their items (that you will be able to pick!)

No character homes/businesses/or items will be impacted by these events. Any pets left behind will be completely fine as well. These events provide an unusual time-bending and when characters return to Deerington in March they will see that absolutely nothing has moved/changed in their absence.

Due to these atmospheric shifts we will be providing earlier than usual preludes so everyone can make appropriate plans. The last prompt on the event for December will describe the setting for January so that no one has to wait until January's event to see where their characters will be.

What if I don't want to have my character removed from Deerington?

That is an option! You may have your character avoid the atmospheric shift for January and February- however if your character is not in the temporary locations then they will not be able to access any of the prompts available during the events.

Once a character is in those locations they cannot leave until the next event allows them to be relocated.

Characters will still have access to any food or medical supplies necessary for them to live.

January's location is a large scale disaster scenario while February's setting is to offer a failed utopia scenario. Both settings will offer fun, positive prompts, but ultimately have darker, overarching outcomes/plots.

You can expect the January Prelude to be posted when the December Event is posted.

You can expect the February Prelude to be posted when the January Event is posted.
