How's it going everybody! My name's Carolyn and I'm bringing you Doctor Richard Strand from the Black Tapes podcast. I'm super hyped to be here and ready for some spooks!
Richard is Alex's partner in crime (so to speak), a psychologist with an "institute" dedicated to debunking the paranormal. His institute gets a lot more press after he's featured on Alex's podcast and Alex Reagan (and her producer Nic) end up turning their podcast into a show about his paranormal tapes. Richard allows this because he is king skeptic and was raised with a terrible childhood+tragic backstory that destroyed any interest in the paranormal #tragicbackstory la la la-
Despite that he's got a kid, an ex wife, a murder-record/wrap sheet (it's a long story) and makes a living out of debunking paranormal stuff and magic and ruining everyone's day.
The biggest thing is that supposedly Richard is a key part of an "end the world" scenario offered by the Order of the Cenophus who are dedicated to doin' murder and ushering in a world full of shadow people. Erring on the side of caution and a hell of a lot of people gaslighting him, Richard is also a psychic. He's like a big bearded version of eleven without the telekentics. He'll be able to biolocate - aka being in two places at once to help you find things - and also see ghosts and demons (and not just the ones living here! aha.)
Anyway, +1 stuffy sophisticated nerd in hopelesslove romantic interest because he's a sad old man with one girl reporter ready to totally ruin Santa Claus for you. +1 Carolyn - I can be found on plurk at carolynsgeekout or on discord carolingalong#5551.
Richard admitting any sort of power is...not happening anytime soon but if people want to pick up on there is something not right about this guy feel free.It'll piss him off. When he admits it there'll be a psychic "finding things" post that goes up so we can plot more sincerely.
