Game Updates and Reminders

Hello Deerlings! We hope this month finds you better than last. We have a few minor updates to the game.

Social Media: We have changed the Social Media page to be player-maintained. This means that players will now be responsible for updating their information to the available excel spreadsheet. If you need help learning how to do this, please let us know below!

AC Page: As we are getting closer to hitting captcha for our AC page we will eventually be making a new one. We will let the game know when this page has been made and you will need to make a fresh comment on the new AC page. You can expect this new page in the upcoming months. AC rules and expectations remain the same.

Reminder About Content Warnings: When compiling your AC proof please make sure your threads are appropriately flagged for sensitive content such as graphic depictions of violence or explicit sexual content. If you forgot to tag your thread, please at least give the appropriate content warning on the AC Proof link itself (ie: Link to thread: warning contains sexual content)

Fourth Walling: We want to remind the game at large that Deerington has enormous fourth walling elements that will eventually be unavoidable for all characters. Please make sure you have it clearly stated on both your application and your permissions for the game that you are comfortable with fourth walling in the Deerington setting. We want to ensure everyone participating in the game setting understands how integral fourth walling is to the story line and that everyone is comfortable with that. Thank you.

Applying on Hiatus: We would like to clarify that moving forward we will not be accepting applications if you have all your characters on hiatus. If you have characters in the game you must be active during the cycle in which you are applying for your 2-3rd+ character.

We made it yall. Thank you to everyone who has supported our game and who has helped make this an amazing experience. We're so happy to have reached this landmark with all of you, old players and new players alike! Our game has had incredible growth and our player base has helped us so much along the way in creating an inviting, creative atmosphere and helping us figure out the best ways to run this beast.

For All Players New and Old in May

↪ We will not be requiring AC for the month of May. You will still need to do a check-in during the AC period. You can choose to do regular AC/bonus points processing if you so choose, but it will not be mandatory to meet AC for May.

↪ All players will automatically be given 200 bonus points when they check in with their May AC. These points will be given to new players as well as old players. Even if you opt to do regular AC, you can get the 200 bonus points.

To add the 200 bonus points into your overall bonus collection, just make a note of it on your next regular AC re: "+ the 200 bonus points from the May anniversary".

We will also be giving everyone an AC Pass.

This AC Pass can be used at anytime. You get only one per character and the pass can only be used once.

This means that you can use the pass instead of taking a strike in a month you might have miss AC without a hiatus! Or maybe you just don't feel like filling out AC and just want to take the pass instead of a strike.

In order to claim your AC pass, please comment to this post using the journal for that character! Please make sure to put your character's name in the header. If you play multiple characters you will have to leave a comment from each journal.

You must claim this pass within May. You cannot come back to this post come June for the claim. Other people cannot get the claim for you. It has to be from your character's journal. You have until June 1st to collect this pass.

New players accepted during the May application cycle can also claim this gift! When you're accepted into the game just comment to this post with your character's journal!

Whenever you decide you want to use this AC Pass, you'll have to link to your comment on this page as proof of claiming the pass during the gift month. This means that your AC check in for whatever month you're using the pass for would look like this:

Raffle Prize Winners

Thank you to everyone who signed up for the raffle for May's event! We have our official winners and who the prizes will go to.

Format for prize announcements will be Character Name (Player Name).

Sodder's Ring: Clarke Griffin (K) - The tarot card will fold itself up into the shape of a small girl, and the smell of smoke will fill the air. The ring will appear in a ripple of color on Clarke's finger. Sodder's soft childlike voice will whisper: "Use this to move like me. If they can't see you, they can't harm you, right?" Clarke may notice a little girl's shadow following behind her for a few days after the ring has appeared.

The Mayor's Ring: Mad Sweeney (Jessi) - The tarot card will distort itself into a vaguely tentacle looking origami shape. Ink will begin to drip from it, and out of the ink the ring will grow. Small tentacles of smoke will grab harmlessly at Mad Sweeney when he goes to pick it up. Seems like the tentacles want to help get the ring onto his finger! The ink can either be a few drops or flood the space Mad Sweeney is occupying.

Mother Superior's Ring: Eliot Waugh (Lausanne) - Eliot will have to suffer hearing a sharp, sudden shriek, and his tarot card will fold itself up into the shape of a cross. Blood will dribble from the folds, and the ring will grow from the blood. The blood itself will seem to be a mix of Eliot's and...something else. The blood can be either a few drops or flood the space Eliot is occupying.

Ramona Derwin's Ring: Usagi Tsukino (Jax) - A warm breeze will rush through the air, and the tarot card will fold itself up into the origami shape of a deer. The deer will wobble and try to walk towards Usagi before toppling over. Once it has been picked up, the ring will be discovered beneath it. Ramona's smooth voice will whisper through the air: "Let me keep you safe."

Cynthia Sodder's Ring: Benedict Dearborn (Ghoulette) - The tarot card will fold itself up into a flower, and as it does, tendrils of plant life will burst from beneath it. This plant growth can be as tame or invasive as you wish it to be. The ring will seem to grow out of the plant life, and Benedict will be able to pluck it. Sodder's voice will sound out in his head: "This ring...It reminds me so much of my mother. She always said plants can feel your love and hear your songs."

The Dog Keeper's Dog Whistle: Raven Darkholme (Yan) - Raven will hear a soft snarling from the dark corners of her home, yellow eyes gleaming from shadows, and then the tarot card will fold itself into the shape of a dog. The sound of a dog's panting can be heard from behind her, and whenever she turns around, she'll discover a dog whistle hovering in the air. Attached is a small string with a simple note: "All dogs are good. Trust me."

Face of Deerington: Ben Hanscom (Gann) - The tarot card will become fold up into the shape of a mask. Ben will feel a hard weight against the back of his head suddenly, and when he goes to look, he will discover the mask molded against the back of his head. He can either remove it with graphic force, or merely pop it off.

Sodder's Mirror: Alex Reagan (Kim) - The next time Alex sees any reflections of any Sleeper, the reflections will distort. The tarot card will turn to stone and the image on it will become engraved. It may turn to any type of stone you want. A child's giggle will ripple through the air, and the sound of glass breaking will be heard. Alex will discover the mirror on her pillow.

The Growth: Stiles Stilinski (Gero) - The tarot card will suddenly warp into a larger shape, folding itself rapidly into the shape of a vine, growing in whatever space Stiles is occupying. The card will curl itself around whatever is nearest it, and as it grows, the Growth will grow with it. Stiles will have to pull it apart from the tarot card.

Dream Hunter: Luna Lovegood (Cheryl) - The tarot card will glow a radiant gold, dust raising from its surface and swirling around it. You may choose to have this golden dust storm occur just around the tarot card or occupy the space Luna is in. The dust will expand to the size of the Dream Hunter, and once the dust has settled, Luna will discover the weapon left behind. The dust is the same dust that can be found in the swirling sands of the Great Sleep.

All characters who have won a prize will feel a moment of intense dizziness, a sense like they might pass out or throw up, and might have to sit down while their tarot card changes. They do not need to be near their tarot card for it to change, but they will experience this intense vertigo whenever their tarot card does change. You may choose when the tarot card changes.

Your characters can share the items with other characters, but the items will be most effective used by whoever gave blood to gain them. The items will seem to recognize that person best.
