Character Name: Mike Wheeler
Age: 14
Employment in Deerington: Delivery boy and assistant-assistant manager at Peter's Pizza; if you ever order a pizza, he'll be the one bringing it to you, day or night
Residence in Deerington: 3253 Castle Rd. along with seven other teenagers and various pets; if you live nearby, you've likely heard their ruckus
Day to Day Activities: Delivering pizza on his bike, walking a dog/Pokemon/demon horse, perusing at the comic shop, talking back to games at the arcade, waiting outside Dearly Diner for Will to get off work, buying nothing but junk food at the Hart Mart

About This Character: Mike is a dorky kid from mid-80's Indiana who got mixed up in a government conspiracy involving an eldritch nightmare dimension. He's the de facto leader of his gang of unsupervised middle schoolers, but he's not always an easy person to get along with. While he's clever, loyal, and brave to a near-deathly fault, he's also hot-headed and prone to fierce mood swings. He's got no respect or trust for adults, but warms up too other kids more easily, especially if he senses you need a friend.
Any Warnings: His canon inherently involves mentions of violence, monsters, and possession, and he has specific trauma that involves being a witness to awful, gory deaths. Additionally, specific warnings related to his time in Deerington include depression/mental illness, drowning, possession, animal attacks, and hand/finger injury. The last three are especially salient right now so tread carefully if they're not your thing. If you want CR but don't want a specific thing brought up, please let me know!

Present Life: Right now, Mike's in recovery mode from everything that happened between August and October. He got possessed, he saw one of his best friends die, he had a zombie dog eat his fingers, et cetera. He's also very aware that there's still a monster in his head and that he needs to do something about it, but it's not at the forefront of his mind (in fact, it's currently trapped far in the back). Several people from home just showed back up, and he's also made the decision to do something about his shitty mental health, so that's where he is this month, laying low. I'm taking this time to try to expand his CR (he lost a lot over the summer/fall) and let him rest for a bit.
Future Ideas: Eventually Mike is going to start trying to get un-possessed, so he'll ICly start trying to figure out how to do that, but I'm not super concerned with how long it takes. The monster might even resurface now and then, I haven't planned it out. But hey, if you know some shit about exorcisms, get in line.

CR You Want: All the other kids/teens to be friends with. Older role model/surrogate parent types. People who know about possession or mental health treatment. People to have petty arguments with.

I'd definitely love to do more with Mike! He's always such a joy to interact with, and I feel like there's a lot of similar themes between these 2. But at the same time, I love that like.... there's a lot that's opposite, too? Mike being brave and loyal and prone to those angry mood swings, whereas Peter is very passive and sees himself as a "coward", and literally never lets himself get mad except for like, one time in his whole teenage life. He could use a good Shouting Session??? I feel like there would be this... admiration for Mike that I think would be really wholesome to explore :')

And in general I'm hella weak for Peter making friends with younger teens and just awkwardly thinking he needs to keep them safe when it usually ends up being the other way around because he can't handle anything. Maybe they can actually chill sometime and do Teen Things inbetween all the horror and possession.....

AHHHHH same ;;; I love their dynamic because they're both kind of awkward and fumbling but with complete opposite energies, i.e. withdrawn vs. explosive. And Mike needs both other Teens to socialize with and people slightly older than him to learn to trust. Even if Peter's still more a teen than an adult, Mike registers him as being "vaguely Nancy's age", which is around where the "you can't fucking trust adults" line starts. It's also incidentally where the "people to turn to when shit gets too bad to handle with just my tween friends' help" line begins. Basically he's at the right spot for the friendship to be sort of multipurpose.

ALSO. I bit off too much in October, and then when I couldn't chew it all I got anxious and ignored it. Would it be okay if I replied to the month-and-four-days-old demon thread tag??

YES it would be so interesting to dip into, since like you said, Peter's Not Older Teen Age and yet..... he tends to regress to this... disconcertingly childlike state that's often even emotionally younger than the younger teens, at times? It'd be very good to see how they might potentially be able to chill around each other or offer some support for their respective traumas in varying ways ;;

God DW did some weird shit through October and I lost... like half of my notifs for threads and just let them drop aojgp;f so NO WORRIES at all there! I'm totally here for it if you're still feeling that thread though, I will gladly backtag into infinity B) But if you're past that stage of Mike's Demon Business and feeling something else, I don't mind doing something newer, either. I'm here 2 indulge tbh!

If Mike's trying to hide his demon, I could always have Paimon.... seek him out sometime and try to coax it out of him again goajdp;kf whether that's successful or not, Mike could end up just having to babysit him or end up demoning out again himself, but god imagine........
