Shiro Shirogane | Space Lion Misadventures

Character Name: Shiro Takashi Shirogane
Age: 27 in game, 7 by leap year standards
Employment in Deerington: Deerington Elementary - He's a Science Teacher
Residence in Deerington: Mouse House On Elm Street
Day to Day Activities: Shiro's on the job again, teaching Science at the elementary school. He shows up early and stays after, in case anyone needs a consistent place to find him. He mostly teaches space-related sciences, since that's what he tends to know best. He can also be found at the Coffee shop, or the diner. He rides around on a hoverbike a lot of times. At night, chances are he's patrolling back and forth between Mouse House and the apartments, followed by his robot Lion. The Lion's the size of a draft horse, you can't miss it. He can also be found at the rec center gym, where he'll help with self-defense lessons if asked.

About This Character: Local Ace pilot goes on a deep space exploration mission, gets abducted by aliens, tortured and experimented on. Escapes back to Earth and accidentally adopts a bunch of reckless teenagers -- and then they're all kidnapped by a giant robot lion and strongarmed into fighting a space war for the freedom of all sentient beings. Loves space and astronomy, can drive or fly just about anything. Hopeless in the kitchen. Loves bad jokes and uses them as a coping mechanism. His teammates are his family.

Any Warnings: He's got a LOT of signs/symptoms of PTSD, anxiety/flashbacks/etc. Most of those flashbacks relate to violence and/or medical trauma and experimentation. It's not clear what exactly happened beyond "really bad stuff", but I try and warn for it regardless.

Also, because it's come up a few times recently, descriptions of chronic and/or potentially terminal (?we just don't know thanks canon?) illness may occur in very close CR conversations. I will warn for that in the subject lines too.


Present Life:
Shiro's current life is summed up as:
- Helping people gather info about Sodder/the town
- Spreading the information as much as possible
- I am so unbelievably guilty over my boyfriend dying and my teammate dying AGAIN
- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
- Teaching Science! Tutoring kids
- I will literally run myself into the ground to make up for my perceived failures from October
- SINKHOLES FUCK, FUCK, NO NO NO NO
- Training at the gym!

Future Ideas:
He really... really needs to take off some of that guilt. But getting him to that point is a near impossible task.

He also has a personal Horror coming up, as detailed here! So I might swing into that coming up.

CR You Want: Look, he has a problem and that problem is looking after younger people. Usually teenagers. Or anyone who may look like they need a big beefy shoulder to lean on. So that's... probably going to happen whether people want it to or not. But I'm open to ANYTHING really. He charges headlong into situations where someone needs help, consequences to himself be damned.

Hello, I love Shiro and our characters actually have a lot in common (medical shit, abductions, torture, survival, fear of failure...) and I thought it might be cool to throw Sarona at him.

She's a brain who doesn't know when to stop and can she study your arm. Also let her bully you into taking care of yourself and not just everyone else.

Sarona does not know how to feel about this as he older brother is a monster, but Shiro is disarming enough that she may not even realize it's happening until it's too late because she's trying to adopt him.

Right, she wouldn't have cared nearly as much. But Shiro being like...the complete opposite of that is going to be a bit disarming.

Winter has her eye on him, so if he does anything too stupid she might step in. But she will definitely help him work through that survivor's guilt of his and train with him if he ever desires to.

He... absolutely has an apology coming her way. That was not his most shining moment ever and boy is he regretting how they met.

So maybe training to make up for it?

Training is the best form of an apology. Don't worry she understands that a lot of the residents that have been around for some time have a respectful fear and trauma of that place.
