End Chapter 1 Reminders + Updates

UPDATES AND REMINDERS

Hello Deerlings! As many of you know, we are approaching our End Chapter 1 phase of the game via our End Chapter 1 announcement here.

We are now entering the Final Stages and wanted to provide some quick reminders for important dates and how things will be working from this point forward! Please read closely as we continually update this information as we move along to best accommodate the changes we're about to go through.

April 23rd: The final prelude for the game! This will be the prelude to May's Event. As June will serve as a conclusive scene and be partially dependent on door votes, we cannot provide a prelude for June's event.

This prelude post will also include more details about NPC voting for May.

April 27th: Our final TDM for Deerington Chp 1 will be posted! We will no longer be doing the final April TDM.

May 1-5th (AC): Final AC will be collected (from April). There will be no AC requirements for May/June except for new players checking in to provide proof if they would like to have Early Access to Chapter 2.

These submitted proofs will not be formally acknowledged by our AC team, but you will be able to use it for Early Access - so hold on to it!

Otherwise, there will technically be no expected AC at all for May/June.

May 1-5th (Reserves): Final reserves for Deerington (Chapter 1).

May 5-10th: Final applications for Deerington (Chapter 1). There will be no application cycle in June.

May 7th: Plotting Post for Event. This event will focus on Sodder. There will be no mini event: the entire game will have access to Sodder's Final Moments.

VOTING FOR NPC AWAKEN/SACRIFICE BEGINS. Characters will ICly vote to awaken or sacrifice NPCs (and themselves) up until June 5th where all votes will be finalized. The June event will be structured around the consequences of these votes.

At this time, characters will be able to have IC discussions on the Network/in person about the subject of "voting" and what the consequences may be.

May 10th: Sodder's Event goes live. As per usual, people are allowed to start making scenes well before this date.

May 20th: Final CR meme.

June 5th: Voting for NPCs ends. Results will be posted.

These results will include some summary information and details about the setting and atmosphere for Chapter 2 beyond what we have already told all of you. At this time we allow further questions about the setting to be asked and will hopefully be able to provide some more answers.

We will also be providing a complete calendar for the Chapter 2's upcoming dates and further information in June and another collective reminder post about everything going on. We gave an original timeline of when we believe DC2 will commence but as we draw closer, we will have much more specific ideas about exact dates for the first batch of reserves which will likely occur in August. We will also have a better gauge of when we will be able to provide all information about the game.

We will also be making fleshed-out FAQ and information pages for the new game (obviously), so some of your questions might already be answered there and if so, we'll let you know!

June 10th: June Conclusion Event goes live + Final Plotting Post. This will provide characters with an IC chance to say "Goodbye" to one another and Deerington (though hopefully many of them will simply wake up in Chapter 2 and continue with their Deer-y journeys!). This will also explain some of the consequences of the voting/the new Door opening.


June 15th: NPC Reactionary Event Post - will be optional to explore.

End of June: Conclusive end-Chapter 1 post with completed details.

APPLICATIONS FOR CHAPTER 2

We are offering every player who was a member of Deerington in the last seven months (Dec 2020 & Jan, Feb, March, April, May, and June of 2021) Early Access to Chapter 2. This means you will have an opportunity to reserve/apply with whatever character (from Deerington or entirely new) to our game before its official open date.

We will also have an event prior to Chapter 2's official opening that will serve as a full transition scene from the setting of Deerington to the new setting of Chapter 2. This can be used for players planning to bring over their original Deerington characters or players who want to introduce new characters into the setting early.

What does Early Access entail? Great question! All we will ask is that you can provide a link to AC from any one character you had in-game during that six-month window. It doesn't matter if you were in the game for only one month or the entire duration - as long as you were an active participant in that timeframe you will be able to gain Early Access! The details of how/when to provide this proof will come when we open information for Chapter 2.

APPLYING STRAIGHT FROM DEERINGTON: For the first three months of Chapter 2 we will allow current and old players to use their accepted applications from Deerington to apply into Chapter 2. These players will only be required to fill out the second half of our new application, but don't worry, we'll provide you with a straightforward form when the time comes!

If you are applying as a new character or taking your character from a new canon point you will need to do the regular, complete application. After the first three months, old players from Deerington will have to complete a new application as well. We believe three months will allow plenty of time for players to consider if they want to bring old/current characters into the new setting or go with a different character altogether!

Starting January 2022 all players will need to fill out a regular application regardless of whether they were in Deerington previously.

VOTING AND DOOR REVEAL

A reminder that everyone will be able to "vote" for what is to be done with the various NPCs/Sleepers. These votes will factor into which door is opened for the new setting of Chapter 2. The voting of the NPCs is meant to have metaphorical and literal implications so choose wisely! We encourage people to think about their voting choices from a story perspective.

Characters will be ICly given clear instruction on how to vote when the time comes. This will be one of the prompts for the May Event and be something all characters, new and old, heavily involved or at the edges of the main plot, can be involved in. An actual voting post will be put on the OOC community.

Voting will begin May 7th and end on June 5th.

Once voting is concluded we will be releasing a post about which door has been opened and further information about what you can expect from that world/game such as a bit more information about the power system, animal companions, revised AC, and a few other mechanics about the game that we can readily provide now. We hope to provide enough information about the new game so that our players can start making some loose plans.

We also plan to release the full game information/name/pages at some point in August so that people will be able to fully read up on everything prior to Early Access.

While we do have static information posts, we strongly encourage our players to pay close attention to these announcement posts we make as they will always contain the most up-to-date information about our game moving forward.

Sorry if I've missed this in the Chapter 2 section. If I canon update my character during Chapter 1 and want to bring them through to Chapter 2, do I need to complete a new application when I apply or can I still use my accepted application?

You can still use your accepted application! Just make sure to do the canon update sometime before the end of June and you will be fine!

"If you're taking your character from a new canon point" is only for those deciding to do a large canon update when applying to the new game.
