Player Plot Requests

PLAYER PLOT REQUESTS

To make a request for a player plot, no matter how big or small, this is the place to do it. Most player plots will automatically be accepted. Some might invoke mod inquiry. This page allows all players within the community to keep track of what player plots are being requested. Be sure to communicate effectively with everyone involved, and for player plots concerning larger parties or having open involvement to the community, be sure to post OOC planning posts if necessary.

Please fill out the following form as thoroughly as possible and comment below. You should hear back within 24 hours on your approval status.

Your characters can discover new monsters at any point. Please make sure to make a monster request on the monster request page prior to commenting here if you plan on doing this. This is to ensure that monster replicas are not brought into the game whether through players offering the same creature, or a creature being brought in that I was already planning on.

Monster discoveries made through these requests can happen during any time, regardless of whether or not it is a Horrorshow. Please do not bring in any major monsters as there will probably already be plans made for them in game. Thank you!

Player plots do not need to be horror oriented. They can be just about anything at all. Have fun.

Monsters Being Brought In: Corrupted Golem that Sarona is going to build and attempt to anchor using the Obsidian Heart Shard she brought with her.
Content Warnings for Plot: violence, language, potential psychological themes, corruption, mind-altering effects, potential death?

Details of Plot:
Sarona's recent golems she's made in game have not worked properly, due to warping. She intends to use the Obsidian Shard she came into game with to attempt to anchor a new golem. She believes that if she uses something anti-magic to combat whatever magic (she assumes) is influencing hers and causing it to warp, she can cancel out the effect, but she does not realize that the obsidian stone she's carrying around is actually the piece of a heart of a living being and thus putting it into a new body will bring that to life. Basically she will be going Frankenstein without realizing it and she would not realize exactly what is happening with the golem at first as she would be the first person influenced.

But the Soulcarver, the Mystland creature that the shard is from, isn't just anti-magic. It corrupts magic, twisting it and turning it against itself and corrupting whoever is using it to aid in its destructive goals. So the golem's new objective would be going out, appearing some simple golem out there helping people, all the while twisting people who are magical, or use magic, on themselves. It will boost their power and strength, maybe even making them feel like their magic is "better," but at the cost of corrupting them into darker, more obsessive, versions of themselves until they use up all the magic they have and maybe kill themselves in the process. They will become obsessed with their own power and the power of those around them. And when the magical energy is fully corrupted, the golem will feast on it, absorbing it as it is released into the world, turning itself into something more akin to the actual monster the shard comes from, like a copy of it.

People who don't have magic could also be influenced by touching the golem directly and getting a boost as well, temporarily awakening in them a power they've never had before so they can then be consumed by it. But people who don't have magic have a higher immunity against this and have an easier time rejecting the golem's influence.

It can be stopped, by having the shard removed from the golem and put back into a shielded container (the shard can't be destroyed only broken into smaller pieces that will attempt to reunite), but it would have to be done by someone who is either protected in a way that isn't magic, or isn't using magic themselves. Magic can't be the cure to this infection. It will only make it worse and those who use magic within the direct area of effect around the golem could potentially be infected by the shard's influence ten-fold.

I was imagining this plot starting out slow with the effects being lowkey and then influence getting worse over the course of a week or two before players figure out what's causing the changes to people around them. If enough people are effected the golem would be changing and warping itself, becoming more like the Soulcarver itself, stronger, more destructive and hungrier. The golem will not be easy to take down after it reaches a certain stage of its transformation, but it is possible and easier when people are working together.

Not all magical people would have to be effected if they didn't want to do, as they could opt-out and the assumption would be they were never close enough to be affected, or the magic in their world is different enough it wasn't influenced by the Obsidian shard. The nature of the corruption could be unique to each person, but the end result would be them being consumed by power and using that power until they burn out.
