Player Plot Requests

PLAYER PLOT REQUESTS

To make a request for a player plot, no matter how big or small, this is the place to do it. Most player plots will automatically be accepted. Some might invoke mod inquiry. This page allows all players within the community to keep track of what player plots are being requested. Be sure to communicate effectively with everyone involved, and for player plots concerning larger parties or having open involvement to the community, be sure to post OOC planning posts if necessary.

Please fill out the following form as thoroughly as possible and comment below. You should hear back within 24 hours on your approval status.

Your characters can discover new monsters at any point. Please make sure to make a monster request on the monster request page prior to commenting here if you plan on doing this. This is to ensure that monster replicas are not brought into the game whether through players offering the same creature, or a creature being brought in that I was already planning on.

Monster discoveries made through these requests can happen during any time, regardless of whether or not it is a Horrorshow. Please do not bring in any major monsters as there will probably already be plans made for them in game. Thank you!

Player plots do not need to be horror oriented. They can be just about anything at all. Have fun.

Player(s) leading plot: Jansen and Claire
Player(s) Contact(s): [plurk.com profile] jackets and [plurk.com profile] slanndalous | Jansen#8997 and slanndalous#5708

Character(s) involved: Vyng Vang Zoomba [personal profile] spiritwalks and Tahcome Dhaume [personal profile] bardbarous
Closed/Open Plot: Open!
Monsters Being Brought In: There will probably be appearances of canon-specific animals (dragons, giant wolves, etc.), but only 1) for short periods of time and 2) within the context of Vyng’s shapeshifting (so they won’t be sticking around).
Content Warnings for Plot: Body horror, possession, disassociation, possible self-sacrifice and/or death

Details of Plot:

Sometime in early May, an influx of spirits from other worlds will suddenly be pouring into Deerington. To the untrained eye, they’re invisible. But spiritually-sensitive sleepers might notice ethereal, incorporeal creatures moving through town.

The spirits are moving with the desperation of somebody who’s drowning, hoping to grab onto a life raft. SOMETHING is drawing them toward a singular point, like a moth to a flame.

Having tumbled into a completely different plane of existence, these spirits need something to anchor themselves to: A beacon whose essence is connected to plants, animals and the elements.

The majority of them find this beacon in the Spiritwalker, Vyng.

Vyng is wholly unprepared for this onslaught, taking massive amounts of spiritual energy into his physical form. His own will is quickly buried under mounds of spirits, desperately hoping to anchor themselves to the Spiritwalker.

He turns into a massive being made of spiritual energy (kind of similar to the Nightwalker in Princess Mononoke) — constantly in flux, highly unpredictable, and very dangerous to anybody who encounters it.

Examples of shapes this form may take

  • Giant bipedal creature

  • A dragon

  • A herd of stampeding animals

  • A windstorm

  • Billowing thunderstorm clouds that can strike with lightning or drop acidic rain on people

  • A large “tree” with an outstretched canopy. But on closer inspection, the outlines of leaves are actually the shapes of animal appendages, reaching out for…help? To pull other spirits into this “life raft”? Hard to say.

Regardless of form, he will still retain:

  • A single glowing amethyst stone that changes shape and size, depending on the form

  • A pair of three slash marks that vaguely look like fish gills

Some things to note:

  • Animals (who aren’t Sleepers), the landscape, naturally-occurring flora (i.e. not magical), will be immune to damage from this thing.

  • It can assume different forms when moving from one part of town to another.

  • At any given time, the monster’s ill-effects will be contained to whatever immediate area it’s inhabiting.

  • Some unlucky Sleepers might get sucked into this large mass of spirits, temporarily losing their identity as their will is subsumed by all these animals. These Sleepers will either need to fight their way out, OR Vyng can try helping them assert their individuality from the inside.

  • Other spiritually-sensitive Sleepers might accidentally get possessed by 1 or 2 creatures at a time

  • Nobody can communicate with Vyng from the outside of the creature. Sleepers are welcome to try, but at their own peril.

Vyng will be difficult to kill in this state, but it’s not impossible. That said, anyone who tries will HAVE to go through Tuck, who’s fiercely protecting his friend with the fury of a thousand suns.

This plot can be resolved in a few different ways…

  • Sleepers can kill him (though it's possible they'll need to incapacitate/kill Tuck to do it)

  • Somebody might opt for figuring out how to suppress his powers temporarily

  • Tuck decides to bring Vyng down himself
