OCTOBER PART 2 PLOT PLOTTING POST

All those who have signed up for the second part to the October Event may plot here! Sign-ups have since been closed and you can find all group listings here as well as some important information pertaining the event. The event is here.

Only characters who have been signed up may interact directly with this event. However, characters can still bring attention to what's going on to the rest of Deerington. That means you can still have a character make a network post about something they have discovered and characters who are not signed up may interact with it. But as far as the actual investigation and obtaining items go, make sure to stick to just those who have been signed up!

If you have any problems or questions, let us know!

Please make sure to plot thoroughly with your group here and make sure that no one gets left out and everyone is on the same page to have a good time!

It will be assumed that all items have been obtained and sacrificed by November 1st at the latest. Your characters do not need to do this exactly IC, but for the sake of game-wide consistency, it will be figured that they have accomplished the task by this date at the latest.

TEAM 2 TOPLEVEL

OK, for the sake of easier organisation, it might be better to have everyone comment with their own toplevels here? Especially since there're going to be items that not everyone can get.

So! I'm going to parse the huge chunk of info we have for Chapter 2 in this toplevel. Characters will be compelled to enter the Mayor's House following an eerie feeling of having come from the Mayor's House and needing to return inside, rather than believing they're coming from the outside and going in. These're the things that can happen, divided into UNNECESSARY/NECESSARY events.

UNNECESSARY
1. Your character approaches the kitchen and starts to feel crushing despair in the hallway leading up to it. Character can be saved by others.
2. Your character approaches the den and is suddenly assaulted by physical blows from an unseen entity. Characters CAN die no matter their physical defences/healing factors, and must leave the den quickly to prevent this.
3. Your character goes to the second floor, walks towards the darkened part of the hallway, and can never reach the end. Walking into the dark will only have characters appearing back where they began in a loop.

NECESSARY
Your character enters the girl (Julia)'s bedroom, with items of importance being:
> A stuffed animal (1)
> Children's books (assorted*, with the most important one being The Velveteen Rabbit)
> Little girl's clothes and shoes
> A bunch of naked dolls, clothes cannot be found
> An incredibly detailed dollhouse, unfinished. The crib still needs to be painted, and there's both a freshly-used paintbrush and acrylic paint if you want to continue it.

The stuffed animal and The Velveteen Rabbit grant the holders immunity to the event beasts and the monsters of Deerington, but this is only OOC knowledge so far.

The objective for Chapter 2 is to tear apart the wallpaper in Julia's bedroom, which reveals a painting of a deer.

Involvement in that group: high (especially wrt saving anyone that needs saving, like with the hallway despair), totally willing to have him take up a pseudo-leader role if required, but otherwise he's better deferring to other people. logan will help tear the wallpaper apart, so feel free to write him into your tags if you enter julia's room as one of the idiots working on it. you can even use logan's ripping the wallpaper to inspire your character to do the same!

Ideas for the Group: i don't intend on having him try to enter the den or the kitchen unless it's to save someone else. YOU SHOULD ASK CABLE TO SAVE YOU HE'S AN HONORARY X-MAN.

i also don't think he's smart enough to notice that the wallpaper being ripped at the bottom will be more than a sign of ageing, so he'd need someone else to point it out to him before he starts working on it. the most interesting point for him will be the bookshelf because, as earlier stated, huge book nerd. :V and he's going to steal as many books as he can by filling his arms with them and RUNNING AWAAAAAY.

re: people from other teams, i'm cool with him making correspondence with others! even people he doesn't have CR with. all you have to do is mention that your character's looking for sodder, and he'll be there like butter on toast. :Dd

ABIGAIL HOBBS

Character Name: Abigail Hobbs
Character's Group: 2
Involvement in that group: Abigail is very good at figuring out fucked up puzzles that require parts of a house/items being torn apart. I would like for her to deal with a delay outside of the kitchen because she's extremely prone to despair and her and kitchens don't get along at all. She can help with either going through the closet or painting the crib in the dollhouse. I'd like to also put her in the running to possibly pick up the stuffed animal. She can kinda fight but she tends to hesitate and she'll only have a hunting knife on her. She also had a rough month for her arrival in Sept (womp womp she died) so it'd be really awesome to give her a little extra protection/not have her get super hurt during this event.

Ideas for the Group: It'd be super rad if she could try and help someone else. She's not the best team player so this is a super good opportunity for the sad teenager to actually have some good experiences with people who aren't going to just use her and throw her to the proverbial wolves when done. Other than that, totally open to seeing what other people have in mind!

I KIND OF WANT LO TO HELP HER WITH THE DESPAIR PART?? he's been cleansed this event and has miraculously had his head free of Bad Voices, so i think he'd be able to do that (albeit clumsily). i just like the soft cr in their thestral thread, sob. ;_;

re: crib painting, i know majima wants to paint it as well, so maybe abigail and majima can do that?? you should hit them up. >:3

Involvement in that group: Majima would definitely be interested in reading the written messages, and helping to free the painting from the wallpaper, but I'm cool handwaving this! Let's paint the crib!

Even if he knew what the stuffed animal and Velveteen Rabbit did, Majima would insist someone else take them -- but I am interested in exploring the toys and dollhouse and things because he's got a soft spot for kids, and especially little girls who like dolls :x.

Involvement in that group: Escort quest. Game over if she dies.

The one that's probably going to beeline right for the room and stare at the wall like a weirdo. Since the picture gives a spirit presence, she'll probably be the one to help guide things alpng and try to unbury the picture.

After that, she'll probably take a keen interest in the dollhouse and the... dresser with the bloody corner.

She'll probably seem like the one who needs one of the protective elements. She does not.

She's game for helping people out of despair, or even out of the living room, even though she's prone to falling into it herself. It's happened enough to her here, she's starting to get used to it.

Ideas for the Group: She'll probably be the first one to point out there's something behind the wallpaper. Otherwise I'm game for any ideas y'all might have.

Character's Group: Group 2
Involvement in that group: Gansey is ya boi for stupid dream logic puzzles because he is a dream tree boy. He cannot fight at all, his main skills are talking and being observant. He'd notice things like the wallpaper corner and the blood, and might find something like the teddy bear or the book. He'd be likely to give the teddy to someone like Abigail, who he'd perceive as less used to this sort of dream/reality situation (hahahaha). Stealing books is always the right answer, although he will point out that books here are not always just books!

Ideas for the Group: Gansey is more an observer than an actor, so I'd like to have him in on noticing things. He'd definitely like the Velveteen Rabbit book, or at least to get to copy the inscription, because he's smart enough to realize that it's probably A Big Clue. He'd notice the wallpaper corner as being out of place.

He's not especially trusting of adults, and more likely to stick with/look out for someone like Abigail. Ouse may or may not scare the crap out of him.

If someone goes into the kitchen he'd be a good nominee for getting them out, but he'd be more likely to be a victim of the living room than manage to save anyone, so if someone wants to do a hero and get a dumb boy out of despair room I'm game.

Cable

Character's Group: 2
Involvement in that group: Since it looks like most of the brainstorming and discovery are already covered, I'm going to let Cable take a backseat in case muscle is needed (it won't be, but hey, it's here anyway!) He's also a quiet guy and in most cases won't say much. That doesn't mean I couldn't go for some cr if people are interested.

Ideas for the Group: I can see Cable going into the den and getting the crap beaten out of him. He'll likely figure out really quickly this is not a fair fight and get out of there, but in the event he's off his feet, can someone pull him out?

He can also be someone to save others (kitchen, hallway), giving Logan a breather.

Daemon Sadi

Character Name: Daemon Sadi
Character's Group: :D Chapter 2!
Involvement in that group: So! Basically I think this is...late month, right? Wibbly-ish? Daemon is going to be hobbling b/c of de-beastification, so he's going to be stubbornly helping even though he probably should not be. I'd like him to play with the hallway loop a bit as sort of a fascinating phenomena...and also steal all the books. He'll be going in as a support character, I think, lurking in the shadows and waiting for something to pounce, and he's NOT going to be dealing well with the idea of a child's room where something ominous is clearly going on in the house and the child is missing. :thumbsup!: He'll help tear wallpaper if needed, too, because he can sense something, but Deerington's been messing with his senses so hard he doesn't trust them any more. He'll back Ouse up, though!

Ideas for the Group: All of ya'lls ideas sound great!

Involvement in that group: Scarlett isn't the brightest tool in the box so she's probably gonna suck at solving problems/puzzles unless someone either tells her what she needs to do or directs her to something. She'd be p. good at ripping wallpaper (yay making a mess, her favourite).

Ideas for the Group: Getting caught in the den or helping someone out of the den. I wouldn't mind her getting wailed on by invisible forces because it's not her first time at that sort of rodeo. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

She also has some degree of protection against mental-based influences so she'd be able to block out the kitchen despair and get people away from that.

I would like her to get the copy of Winnie-the-Pooh pls.

JUSTINE TEAM 2 PLOTTING

Character Name: Justine
Character's Group: 2
Involvement in that group: I don't know yet! But she'll likely be very helpful??? See my thoughts below.

Ideas for the Group: (Some copy and pasted from my reasons for putting her in this event cuz it was faster.)

Justine isn't a fighter and she's 100% human. She uses her mind and relies on non-physical skills in order to survive. She has a basic understanding of survival but mysteries are more her style and I love the idea of stretching her mind and having her figure things out.

She'd be GREAT at resisting despair and helping others do the same. She has lived her life with a mental illness and now that she's taking medicine she'll be able to handle it better. She'll also be able to realize that it isn't her and be able to help others snap out of it.

I would really love for Justine to get that Stuffed Deer. It's super cute and her being 100% human with no combat training or anything that helps her not die, it'd honestly be useful. It's also super cute and I know that Justine would pick it up and take it with her just because of that. She really likes cute things. So it's very IC for her lol. But I get that there is one item and I'm happy to talk it out with those interested.

She'll likely grab some books but she won't grab the important one. Justine just works at the bookstore and seeing things not glitch will make her want to gather a few in her backpack.

I am very excited to have people plot with me and her!!! Let me know. This whole area is all mental and stuff so it's perfect for Justine to be able to be useful which like... never happens lol.

She'll likely explore the whole house so I'll let me know if she's wanted or needed anywhere. She's definitely smart enough to solve the mystery of the house and find the picture but I understand that a love of people want to do that as well. So I'm happy with whatever. Please let me know!

I'M LINKING ALL Y'ALL TO THIS COMMENT just so we can have everyone's replies to this in one place but!!

So Cable's going to use his badass technovirus arm to rip a huge chunk of wallpaper from the wall and expose the first part of the deer painting, and I was thinking that we could use this as our basis for "turning in" the piece of evidence we were supposed to get in this chapter?

It's not going to be a big action-y thread or anything, but people's reactions to the painting + discussion of taking a picture of it or something might be a good idea? But also, if you'd like to just handwave your character's reaction to it (like if it's just surprise or something, IDK) that's fine too!!

ALSO. Who are we saying will let the others know about what they found at the Mayor's House?
