TEXTS FROM LAST NIGHT

[Xue Yang is one of the few people Maul will automatically accept a hug from. What can he say? His friend gets him in a way not everyone here does. And he'd tried to help out Maul when he's been at some very low points. A friend in need is a friend indeed and all that.]

I have had quite the experience. I lost myself there for a while even after I was brought back from death. Reaper had to literally punch some sense into me.

[He just doesn't mention that this all happened while he was a deer. Not yet anyway.]

Good. She'll need lots of care for a long while being so young. [Then he pauses.] Daozhangs? [He repeats the unfamiliar word.]

[He has always liked Maul! They are too alike for Xue Yang to have any hesitation in showing affection. And there are times that his friend seems to need contact. Maybe Maul is a bit like him? Always hungry for kindness?

And of course he helps him! What are friends for? When it comes down to it, Xue Yang is a loyal companion.]

As long as they are taking care of you. [Reaper, that is. Bruises heal; sense is a lot harder to find and keep.] I'm sorry I couldn't help.

[He peers up at Maul regretfully, rubbing over the baby fathier's side.]

She'll have it. I won't let anything bad get her.

[Xue Yang chuckles and nods.]

Song Zichen and Xiao Xingchen showed back up and they're living with me.

[They are very alike in that regards. Two dark shadows that yearn for the touch of the light, but don't know how to move towards it without getting burned. But Maul was learning. His friends here had helped with that, Xue Yang included among them.]

He did. He will deny it if he is ever asked, but he cares about certain people deeply. And I am now included among them.

[He's got a dopey look of infatuation on his face as he says that. Maul is well and truly smitten with the man, especially after Reaper had shown how Maul disappearing had messed him up.]

Don't be. Nothing except perhaps the magick my mother once used on me could have restored my sanity by that point. Only death finally freed me from my madness.

[Maul unfortunately was well-acquainted with going insane at this point in his life.]

She eats grass and grain, even some nuts since they have the extra set of teeth to chew them with.

[Or Maul would kill him. It was an extreme reaction, but then, Maul was an intense person like that.] I hope they like your new pet. You will have to give her a new name.
