leaving deerington: going home

Start Date: June 5th
End Date: September 1st
Location: Everywhere

The sight can be seen all across Deerington. Out beyond the edges of town is a massive wall of black smoke, crackling with purple lightning. The Edge. There seems to be a tornado-like effect from the wall, debris lifting up from the ground and being pulled toward its intimidating dark. Yet despite its unsettling appearance, there's something equally welcoming about it. Whatever is behind that wall is beyond Deerington. You can finally leave the town after all these years. You will no longer feel the strange effects of attempting to travel miles beyond the town.

But before you cross that boundary, you first must step into the smokey wall. It goes up further than the eye can see. Those who are capable of flight will find that they are no longer limited by Deerington's usual warps. Instead, once they reach above the clouds, they will find that the smokey wall is more of a smokey dome, curling over the entire town, but somehow not obscuring the moons.

The nearer you get to the wall, the more clear it becomes: this is your ticket home. You can feel the pull. Purple electricity snaps off your skin, making goosebumps crawl down your body. You can hear your world in echoes from the wall, hear familiar shouts from loved ones, hear the clanging of swords of a battle you had left behind; you hear your life. You can feel your life as you had known it.

It doesn't hurt to step into the smoke. You enter a whirling wasteland of black sand and strong winds. The only reason you can see around you is because of the constant snaps of purple lightning above. You can see gargantuan creatures in the smoke, masses of limbs and eyes swirling about. You see a massive whale lazily floating across, its underbelly lit up with purple light, sixteen eyes on its face. It swoops over you and lets out a melodious call. But there are other creatures less indifferent to your existence. Lurking monsters eager for Sleeper blood. But you're not left to your own devices. You are met by a massive white deer with frost-encrusted antlers, its white fur giving off a constant, warm glow. It has come to help you find your way in the dark. It may even scare or fight off monsters that try to hurt you.

There's no end in sight. You simply must walk in the Right Direction. You can feel yourself moving further than anyone has ever gotten from Deerington. You may have companions with you and all of you can be walking to your own separate worlds, or perhaps you are heading for one world in particular.

You're not sure what you're looking for until you see it: a Lighthouse.

Its light serves as a beacon amidst the Edge's darkness, no monsters near it, and a fixed point to walk towards. When you arrive, you see that there are dozens of Lighthouses nearby, shining their own lights. You have simply found your world's first.

Will you enter it? Will you go home?

Or perhaps...You may return to Deerington. In which case, if you do, the Last Deer will be ready to guide you back to town.

But if you do enter the Lighthouse...

Waking Up Back Home

You wake up. Back in your world. Your real world. This is no hallucination, no trick of Deerington's. You're truly back where you came from. Maybe it's even the bed you remember falling asleep in. Either way...It's not long after the canon point you've come from. Only a night's rest or only a couple of minutes.

Your body is even exactly as you remember it: maybe a few years younger, none of the scars from Deerington present, and not even the tattoo.

You begin to wonder if it all had just been one long-winded dream. But God, it had felt so realistic. You can remember the pain. You can remember the people. But there's no evidence of it anywhere. Not your Fluid and not even the last outfit you had been wearing in Deerington. It's like nothing had ever happened.

For some, you may be relieved. May go back to your normal life and live again, occasionally wondering about that strange, long dream. Sometimes you'll see a deer hesitate on the side of the road and you'll swear it looks at you like it knows you. But no...You're overthinking things.

It was just a dream...

Or Was It?

No. You can't accept that everything that happened was a dream. Not after everything you have been through. Maybe you lost years or months of your life but you remember it. Even your imagination couldn't be that wild.

The more you start to believe in the possibility again, the more unusual your world becomes. Things start to blur at the edges and you begin to see those familiar wisps of silver light coming down from the sky.

Then one day you find an antler in your bed, among your things, and you know it wasn't just a dream after all.

Now, will you try to find your way back?

INFORMATION:

1. Characters can bring each other back to their own worlds simply by entering the same Lighthouse together.

3. Running into violent monsters is entirely optional. Any kind of monster could be present in the Edge as it is the collective nightmare conscious of Deerington.

4. This is intentionally set up so that people can use this as a proper segway to conclude character arcs OR have them return home briefly before going to Chapter 2. Entirely up to you which route you go.

5. People can choose how characters "get back" to Deerington - but they WILL wind up in Chapter 2. You can have characters go to sleep with the antler or stab themselves with the antler or burn the antler etc.

6. Since characters can go home with other characters, you can also explore characters being in each other's homes for a while before going back to Deerington OR explore them actually coming to adjust in another character's canon world.

7. This prompt is intended to assure characters that them leaving their worlds behind will not negatively impact their worlds/their old lives. This is to allow characters to move onto the new Chapter without guilt. Characters can have visionary confirmation of this information through dreams or through other characters telling them that no one in the other worlds even realize they're gone/no impact was made by their absence.

stay in deerington: leave it to fate.

Start Date: June 5th
End Date: September 1st
Location: Everywhere

You had seen it start to happen with the deer back in May and now it’s happening to you. Thin tendrils of glittering white light begin to pull off your skin and rise up into the air. At first, it only happens once or twice, but then it begins to happen every time you’re near another Sleeper. You can feel something fluttering within you, and maybe you’re scared, but mostly you feel an odd sense of comfort and relief.

The nightmare is ending.

It is truly ending.

What this means beyond that is unknown to you, but you’re not scared anymore. Not of this part of the story. You can feel something beyond this world, can feel yourself starting to change, can feel yourself beginning to be part of that world. You’re ready to be part of that world. That’s a step you know you’re going to take – it’s just a matter of when. For some people, this means walking through the door. For others, you may choose to stay in Deerington longer, watch yourself fleck away to this new reality day by day or maybe all at once. It’s painless. It’s peaceful. It’s not an ugly way to go. Your body turns to light and then you’re gone in a dazzling glare. You can’t choose when the glow finally consumes you, but you might have more time than you think left.

You know you’re going to have to go eventually, but this might be a good time to tie off some loose ends. Make sure that other Sleepers are helped.

After all, while the glow is a peaceful thing, some may still panic. Some may still despair at the upcoming goodbye. Not everyone will feel this relief. It might be your job to seek those who struggle.

You’re not the only one. You will see Wastes walking among the ruins of Deerington and finding Sleepers. It seems like after years of kindness displayed to the Wastes, the Wastes are returning the favor. You will see Wastes holding Sleepers through the glow. You will see the Wayward Waste the most though. She will rest a Sleeper's head in her lap and wait for them while they vanish.

She will seek out Sleepers confused and frightened and although she does not speak, she will hold hands, and she will help Sleepers find one another. She will often be seen crawling on top of the debris and removing a pair of binoculars from her suitcase to stare over the horizon.

If one is to ask her if they will see her again, if she will be okay, she will nod and sign: “I’m coming with you. I’m just making sure to be the one to shut the door after all of us have left.” Someone has to stay behind in that final moment and that someone is apparently the Wayward Watcher.

As the end nears, characters will find that there they are less hungry, less tired. They don't necessarily feel more energetic, but they feel somewhat less real. It might be easy to start speculating if you really were part of a dream if you really were just some fictional character. For some the existential dread might be too much, Wastes flocking to comfort you, but for others, it might be oddly soothing. It might feel like you're allowing the universe to take care of your soul, as if you trust it to do what needs to be done.

go beyond deerington: go to the waking world

Start Date: June 5th
End Date: September 1st
Location: Flesh Falls Sinkhole - the Flesh Door and beyond

"Even in this darkest of nights, I see the moonlight..."

Some brave souls may decide to go to the Flesh Door itself and see what happens next. By June 5th, the door has swung open completely and all that can be seen is murky darkness. But what's more surprising is that you can't smell blood at all: you can smell the ocean. Step closer to the door and you can feel warm saltwater misting against your face, can hear the dull roar of waves. After a few seconds, a pale face peers out from the dark at you. To many, this is a familiar face. Deerington's very own God of Death. It turns away, but you can see its face bobbing forward. It plans to walk beside you on this journey.

A good thing too. Stepping through the door immediately makes the doorway vanish behind you. If you stepped through with someone, you'll want to grab their hand or else it might be easy to lose one another in this bottomless dark. The God of Death walks silently ahead, never looking back, but always keeping its pace to match yours. It does not intend to lose you.

It feels like walking on air - as if you're only just barely finding your footing. You can hear things moving around you, suctioning slurps, bubbling water, incomprehensible whispering. Occasionally, a rancid odor cuts through the ocean breeze, but the deeper you go, the fainter both the scent of the ocean and rot become. The air becomes sweet with the scent of flowers and you find your footing across patches of pale, glowing white flowers. The darkness fades away and above you hangs a massive red moon, Moon Presence suspended in the air. The Death God seems to have vanished entirely.

"Come now, Sleeper," Moon Presence whispers, her voice a blend of something monstrous and something like Cynthia's voice sounded when she was in her humanoid form. "Are you ready to be born anew?" She floats down closer, resting upon the earth before you, behemoth and radiant with renewed power.

"You need not take this second chance alone. Do not be afraid, kind Sleeper. I will keep you safe in the new world when I can."

She tips her head around, and you find that you are in this field of white flowers surrounded by an endless ocean.

"The ocean will bring you to where you need to go. You will not need a boat. Just let the waves carry you away. The Pthumerian Ocean will do the rest. You might panic at first, but eventually, it'll feel natural. Like you've always been a part of the ocean - and just when you forget your own name, you'll wash up on the shores of Trench, in your new body. In your new life. Cleansed of your old one. Just as I will be."

She moves towards the ocean, sliding into the crashing waves. There are no more parting words. You can watch her go all the way out, far as you can see, and then the waves take her under. The flowers around you seem to sigh in relief, white pollen floating up into the air. It makes you feel hazy and calm. Perhaps one last parting gift from Moon Presence to making your leave easier.

Maybe you choose to sit on this floral beach with your companions, or maybe you've come alone and sat around long enough for someone to find you. It's a big decision, after all. But what you do know is you don't want to go back.

Even if you did, there's no door to go back to. Once you have stepped through the Flesh Door, you're in this world indefinitely until you return to the ocean. The longer Sleepers stay on the beach, the more they will be tempted to swim into the ocean.

While this does seem fatalistic, it is intended to be a magical-based ritual that transports characters into Trench's setting. The last things characters will truly be able to comprehend before the "waves take them" is comfortable darkness and a keen awareness that they are not dying. It is not intended to be a fearful or intense situation, but for many, it may be extremely sad and possibly intimidating.

Characters do not need to journey together to find each other on the beach. Theoretically, the remaining Sleepers could all go successfully at once. Entire groups can go to the floral beach or one person can go and wind up running into another.

When you say that characters can return to their homes "briefly" - is this an objectively brief amount of time or is it your character's perception of what constitutes "brief"?

ETA: Also since Michael is the owner and operator of his particular corner of reality, will he be able to push back against the Deerington reality warping for a little bit like an increasingly frustrated roofer patching up new holes every twenty seconds? I think this would be very funny, and also give him a pretty good reason to venture back once it's clear that he can't fix the issue from his end, but like lmk

Chapter 1 End Plans

Character Name: Vira-Lorr onerthes
Desired CR: Open to just about Anything
Unwanted CR: Romantic. Her Dance Card was very recently filled by Minako Aino and she wants to see where they're going with that.
Character Staying, Going Home, Going Beyond?: Vira-Lorr will be entering Trench directly

Event Ideas:
-I will be subjecting Vira-Lorr to all of the Companions except for Julia. I'll have a top level posted shortly. I can't quite bring myself to subject her to Julia, because she voted to Awaken her. I will assume she learns Julia's fate and is heartbroken over it, but I'd rather not play that out through that sequence itself.
-She will be experiencing the 'stay' mechanic rather than the returning home one. She can't quite bring herself to enter the smoke for some reason (my way of implicating the 7th death's 'breakage') and so lingers on, helping out those who remain until the white wisping gets too severe, at which point she will enter the Flesh Door rather than fading away.

Sandbox Ideas:
Vira-Lorr's been forced to be 'on the job' for nearly three years now. She's exhausted. I actually plan for her to have an open log available where she is literally going through mundane things that are still possible before entering the Flesh Door. Options will include things like cooking and sharing meals, offering fencing lessons for free with blunted foils. Packing and sealing certain items she's taking with her. Saying goodbye to graves and the Goodbye home. All very normal things.

If you want one last monster fight, go for it. Wildcard please. no deaths.

Chapter 2 Plans

Is she continuing: Yes, Vira-Lorr will be continuing as a Deerington CRAU character with no further canon updates (It's not possible to further update her in the game actually, as she's end-game.).

Job Ideas: Fortune Teller, working as a combined Arcane Scholar/Night Walker (emotional support)
Blood Type(s) Ideas: Paleblood
- I'll be depowering her magic entirely. Her ability to see the future will re-emerge but be muted to some extent, and supplemented by her more powerful paleblood ability, which will be Psychometry (A tool she'll use to assist in studying objects found in Trench)
- For the curious: The depowering of her magic will be something I play up as her bargain with the Moss King, a thing she gave up when she sacrificed her egg in the hopes of the future.
- This means she's not going to be a powerhouse in a fight. She'll still be able to defend herself, but none of the high-magic super powers she flung around before. She's support, not front line sorcerer supreme.
Omen(s) Ideas: I'm thinking of having her Absol appear as an Omen, because why not?

Desired CR: With Vira-Lorr, as always, "Any and All" applies. I'm comfortable with characters liking her or really not getting along with her. Despite her being friendly, she has personality traits that could be considered undesirable by many.
Unwanted CR: Again - Romance. For the time being, she's got a potential romantic partner in Minako, and she's not interested in dallying with others. But it's in its very formative stages, so we'll see where it goes.

Current Chapter 2 Plans:
- Currently having her go back into her original business back home: Fortune Telling. Yep, full on Adria from Diablo "I sense a soul in need of answers." She'll use limited future sight and psychometry to assist in supporting others as a scholar (and will be bringing sealed memories of the nightmare with her for study and reference), and offer emotional support and counseling to people struggling and working through issues.

She'll be keeping up with combat training and probably offer fencing/sword lessons to those interested, but she will be actively avoiding any kind of combat leadership or town leadership. In her opinion, she failed in part as head of FEAR, and she prefers to let others take the helm leading things. She'll be a very active support however, since she's still my main muse in Deerington.

Vira-Lorr will be the character of mine that I most flirt with the whole idea of "Going Native." She's been the longest and is the most impacted psychologically, mystically and spiritually, so it's something I'll be looking into.

Desired CR: Honestly, any. I would love for Catra to meet more people who are willing to put up with her warts and all, especially if they are not going to regularly condemn her. I would love for her to have meaningful relationships with others that aren't geared around her getting a use out of them. I know there isn't a lot of time to develop that before we enter Chapter 2, but that doesn't mean I don't want a start!

Character Staying, Going Home, Going Beyond?: I love how you say "plan"! There is hardly a plan anymore. She'll be Going Beyond, however.

Event Ideas: Great question! I don't have an answer yet! I am fucking Winging It, Baby!

Sandbox Ideas: One of the main things I would like for Catra during this period would be to get a better understanding of what has been going on. She has arrived at the bitter end of things and barely even had a place to sleep. Most of her stay so far has been reacting to things and I would love for her to have a better grasp of things before it's gone forever!

And also because she didn't have time to really get to know any of the NPCs.

Beyond that, I am very open! Let's squeeze out all we can from this setting while it's here!

Chapter 2 Plans

Character(s) I'm Bringing: Catra, still!

Job Ideas: High chance it'll be hunter, at least just starting out. I WOULD BE EXCITED to throw something else into the mix down the line.
Blood Type(s) Ideas: Vile or potentially cold. I am still bouncing back and forth, but I am really excited at the idea of her having her own powers rather than Melog doing all the heavy lifting on that front. Coldblood gives her the chance of elemental abilities, much like many of the Princesses back home, BUT HOWEVER . . . Vileblood is likely what she will thrive with best because she's a messed up little kitty cat.
Omen(s) Ideas: Most likely a winged cat! Three cat army, that's the plan! You don't know, maybe I will find a reason to throw even MORE cats into the mix. I am starting a cat colony and no one can stop me.

Desired CR: Same answer as before! Any CR, all CR! I want meaningful relationships for her, if they are rocky and generally a whole mess. I would give all my tears and love to form some found family bounds because Catra has never experienced much acceptance in her life.
Unwanted CR: Nnnnnnone?

Current Chapter 2 Plans: So far, I am flying by the seat of my pants. Some of that is the product of how fresh Catra is the game, so most of it is me running face forward and seeing what I can get to happen. If I decide on going vileblood for Catra, I would love for her to learn some alchemy and poison making. . . yk, for fun!

Event Ideas: Oz is going to have a lot of emotions about Cynthia Sodder, and he'll be closing out an intense emotional arc with Salem. He'll be free for wrap-up and goodbye threads.
Sandbox Ideas: I may or may not keep him into the sandbox months! But I'm around to backtag old content.

Character(s) I'm Bringing: Ozpin is definitely coming. Amelia may come along if I commit to sufficient CR/arc plotting. And I may app a big terrifying villain: the Emperor of the Nine Houses, God of Necromancers, from The Locked Tomb trilogy (Gideon the Ninth etc.) Picture Ozpin as a horrible spacefaring lich and you've got a good idea.

Character Name: The Emperor (The Locked Tomb)
Job Ideas: He'd have a weird take on Teacher/Disciple as he tries to gather a little flock of necromantic apprentices.
Blood Type(s) Ideas: He would be a Darkblood with canon-typical balls-to-the-wall necromancy: animating skeletons, doing complex flesh and blood magic, etc.
Omen(s) Ideas: A horrifying eldritch skeleton-wasp-monster from canon; he'd never let anyone see her.
Chapter 2 Plans: Sometimes you just want to cause problems on purpose. But also, he'd have a grand time playing nice and repping the wonders of blood magic! Ultimate plan is probably to attack and dethrone the Pthumerians, as one does. Expect a chill time for a couple months and then suddenly a player plot with a whole lot of murder.

Desired CR: Any and all!

Character Staying, Going Home, Going Beyond?: Fern will be sticking around Deerington until he and Varian (and anyone else) head through the Flesh Door.

Event Ideas: Fern will not be going back to Ooo or taking anyone back to Ooo, since he knows he goes home and dies. He'll be staying in Deerington, then heading through the Door to avoid yet another flaky death. He'll be around for the final NPC meets, and for any goodbyes for characters who won't be heading into chapter 2.

Sandbox Ideas: I'll be backtagging into infinity and have one or two small, silly things planned out, but nothing big.

Chapter 2 Plans

Character(s) I'm Bringing: Fern

Job Ideas: Hunter/Architect for sure.
Blood Type(s) Ideas: Undecided, though right now I'm leaning towards darkblood or vileblood, with an emphasis on complementing his canon plant and fungi powers.
Omen(s) Ideas: An orchid mantis, maybe? Still thinking about this.

Desired CR: Any and all! Fellow Hunters and Architects, as well as other roles for fun collaboration times. People looking to help with the world's plants as well.

Fern is going to focus on Hedge Hunter services, a combination of hedge knight/knight-errant and hunters, which is basically a catch-all for him to provide various fighting (including combat training) and creating (building/carving/etc.) services and community support without following a formal leader. This is part of his growth and development as he gets away from the desperate need for validation via authority figures and helps people for the sake of helping them.

He'll also be very interested in improving the conditions for nature, given that he's a plant and all. Improving the plant life will tie back into his desire to help the community as well as learning to be more accepting of his own plant identity.

Character Staying, Going Home, Going Beyond?: As tempting as going home would be, Varian's made peace with not going back to Corona and instead embracing the life and family he's made here. Event Ideas: He'll definitely be around for a lot of goodbyes and the like and will be present for the NPC events. Mostly he'll be checking on his CR and getting ready for whatever comes next.

Character(s) I'm Bringing: Varian is 100% coming to Trench. Depending on game speed and if I feel like I can handle a second character again, I might bring in Claudia from The Dragon Prince. Because I guess teens who make terrible life decisions for the sake of their fathers is just a thing for me now.

Job Ideas: Arcane Scholar/Architect mix.
Blood Type(s) Ideas: Coldblood. He'll have fire, ice and electricity abilities and he will absolutely hate it as first. While Varian's not as dismissive as magic as he once was, he doesn't really want magic happening to him. Other elemental types will be appreciated to help him control this and not burn everything down. Eventually, he'll make peace with it and realise it's super useful in his alchemy, but that'll be a journey for him.
Omen(s) Ideas: He's gonna have a Cassowary called Brunhild.

He's going to be opening an apothecary with Melius (and possibly also Magnus because a giant lizard man and a literal teenager should not be running a business) so he can keep with his alchemy dreams. He'll be very interested in making bloodstones and will for sure be incorporating that into the shop. So there's a good chance he'll creepily ask for blood samples from y'all for sketchily making magic blood rocks. Like you do. The Disaster House (along with its weird fucking tower) will be coming along to Trench. Potentially moving to the Cassandra district because that's just going to be a fun time for Varian- and also his castmates when they start showing up later in the year. Especially for Cassandra herself (sorry, not sorry Cass).

I'm going to be using chapter 2 for Varian to focus on dealing with his own inner demons now he's free from worrying about getting home, or the ever-looming dread that people can leave and never, ever be seen again. He's going to be building himself an ugly-ass steampunk monstrosity car as a passion project - because he never builds anything purely for himself. Also given the setting is close to the time period he's from, he's going to be pretty settled there. Anyone who was obnoxious about his fashion choices for the last year and a half are about to get it.

Savage is dead back on his world, and he's unspoken with his fear that the dream ending will mean that he will cease to exist again. He will be both staying in Deerington as long as he can, but also he will be unwittingly be going Beyond too.

Event Ideas:

1) Savage will be lurking around Deerington avoiding actually saying good-bye in words. He will be unhappy with the white tendrils and will take it as a sign he's going to fade away. He also will be finding the lighthouse for his world and wait there to avoid saying good-bye there as well. Maybe just a stiff nod as people who might want to go home passing by?

2) He will be going into the Flesh Sinkhole to find the Flesh Door.

3) NPCs - He will probably see the Mayor and Cynthia? It will hit home a lot of what she says about the Mayor not having always been a monster but something about circumstances making him that way. I'm hoping to lean into this a little so Savage can start to unpack a lot of his own experiences on Dathomir and hopefully setting him towards a path where he might actually desire a 'normal' emotional connection.

I was thinking he'd see Julia, since he technically awakened her and nurtured her egg. She also has the same vein as being a monster, which is a really big part of Savage.

Sandbox Ideas: I don't really have plans, since I will hopefully be backtagging everyone else forever. Savage should probably fight some people though. And yell at them for little to no reason.

Chapter 2 Plans

Job Ideas: Hunter at this point. It suits his whole life, so he would continue on with that path, but it might change as he settles in. I may lean into arcane scholar a bit.

EQUALLY, if anyone wants to do the side-NPC event and have a healer support them through facing off against Mother Superior for he leaves I am down for that. Anduin is a pretty solid raid healer so he can keep a bunch of people up if need be. THAT SAID, I've not used his warps a lot so if I get him into a boss fight I'd KINDA like to let him explode into shadow form briefly... if that doesn't work that's chill, but if you wanna see him briefly go scary I'd be.... interested... you could say....

Sandbox Ideas: I'll probably sucker some people into some indulgent Azeroth-set shenanigans (again, happy to host people!) but I am also SUPER down to backtag the past couple of events. I think I owe at least one or two top-levels, probably more, I simply melted before I got to writing them (oh god, energy, what is that). If people are still interested in it I'd LOVE to backtag to really entrench all that starting CR before we hop over, since we got a little bit of time!

The dreams/hallucinations thing feels like it could be an interesting angle after all that time being messed with by N'Zoth too, honestly.
Omen(s) Ideas: I'm torn between wolf, for Lo'Gosh value where he can talk to it and imagine he's talking to his dad in some way, and a crane for Chi-Ji value.

Desired CR: SAME AS ABOVE although, specifically, as he goes into chapter 2 I DEFINITELY want more CR that challenges him. Anduin is a pretty stubborn character but he does love to learn and to grow and listen. My favourite CR for him is CR where they have differing opinions and clash a little but like, are also friends. THAT SAID I am deeply down for negative CR too, because it's way too easy for Anduin to just collect a network of people who are drawn in by his charm. Give me CR where your character is just constantly going "I hate that guy" and I will happily fuel it and turn it up to 100.

I actually thought a lot about this. Luz is instrumental to her world (and her cartoon) and what is happening there. When she goes home for a short time, she will come face to face with a version of herself, who will wonder why she is there. It will take a bit, but Luz will come to realize she made the decision to go beyond and see this out, and in that moment diverted from the Luz in the Boiling Isles. Much like seeing her Waste, she understands now that time and alternate universes are their own sticky situations, and will make peace with this understanding, happy to know there is a HER that is still trying to help Eda and eventually go back to her mother.

And she will go Beyond to open the door.
Event Ideas: Your ideas for what your character will be doing during the various prompts where applicable!

-She'll stand with Cynthia against Mother Superior, finally coming to terms with the events that have brought her to where she is now and embracing the decision to fight alongside the intentions of the Sleeper.

-She'll listen to Julia's speech and be overwhelmed with grief, sad that she wasn't able to do more to help and upset she didn't truly get to live a happy life.

-Luz will come to terms in the Final Sleeper in understanding she did everything she could to fight for the people she was with, and continuing to live and be around them.

-At that point she goes back to the beach and sees whoever is around and talks and laughs with them before stepping into the Trench.

Sandbox Ideas: I'm hoping to use this time to develop Luz's decision to stay for Chapter 2 and regain her confidence in herself. Again, Luz making the decision to move beyond is a big one, and one I think she makes based on all of her experiences in Deerington. I want her to interact with the Sleepers while moving on her own personal journey, a reminder of why she's continuing in a strange new world with them.

Chapter 2 Plans

Character(s) I'm Bringing: Luz is coming, and I'm kinda over the moon to see what crazy things she gets into!

Job Ideas: Night walker! Luz is going to spend her time painting things for patrons on the side though. Fellow sleeper Mabel Pines is talking of opening a store for crafts, and Luz is going to want to help make that happen in any way she can! It helps that Luz has already worked on helping to sell and advertise, having been Eda's hand for the human oddities shop!

Blood Type(s) Ideas: Paleblood. This is going to be a change for Luz too, who is used to struggling for her magic and now will find she can do things she's never been able to grasp before, as well as being influenced by said powers to veer on being colder than she might normally be. This is going to be a constant struggle, and one that Luz will be working on as much as she can.

Omen(s) Ideas: I'm leaning toward Otter or some kind of bird, but I think I might sit on this one a little bit, because I think I want season 2 of this show to be reflected in this decision.

Desired CR: I'm definitely leaning toward developing this "version" of Luz, who has seen trauma and torture and death and is now striving to make a life after all of that, so I'm up for all types of shenanigans!

-I want her struggle with her own magic and the new magic to be another obstacle in her path, one that will eventually lean on her learned magic dominating. Luz will always be a witch at heart, and these new powers will not change that. She may find, however, that maybe they can coexist...

-I feel like Luz is going to find herself observing and appreciating more of the beauty of the world and its complexities, carry over from the meeting of the last guardians of Deerington. The meetings will have a profound impact on how she now looks at things in this new world, and despite everything I want her to fight to preserve the new reality she and her fellow sleepers are making for themselves.

-She'll find a LOT of joy in helping create and seeing someone live out their dream in Mabel, so I plan to have Luz creating some of her own creations to bring joy to other people, even as she knows she's still going to have to fight the new complications this world will bring.

It means a great deal to him to have a like "older but still relatable" presence around, especially since he's kind of easing out of teenagehood and more towards "young adult". I'd love to keep seeing where they go, maybe even let Willow meet Peter's demon at some point! He's forever interested in meeting witches / possibly working with of all types so he'd just be 👀 at her tbh.

Sandbox Ideas: Mostly I'm planning to use the summer to catch up on backtags, follow up on event ideas that I never got to, and generally have fun. There's been a ton of drama in game in recent months and we all need a break.

Blood Type(s) Ideas: Paleblood. Since a number of significant CR are planning on Vileblood, this seems appropriate. Additionally, this will give him the telepathy that he's been curious about after meeting characters like Fox and The Doctor-- and it will allow him an avenue to more easily communicate, because I'm planning on limiting his canon abilities to largely the shapeshifting related ones.

Omen(s) Ideas: Jackalope! Diggs is currently in the form of a small owl, but Oscar has taken to using that as a tool. In many ways, a jackalope suits his nature.... and his lingering connection to the gods of Remnant that he's trying to reject.

Desired CR: Anyone and everyone! Oscar needs more friends closer to his age.

Current Chapter 2 Plans: I have multiple things planned for Oscar, so I'll make it simple and concise:
1) Farming. Oscar is going to double down on gardening once he realizes how valuable that skill is. I still plan to have him teach anyone interested the basics and potentially try to start a community vegetable garden, but that is a much more difficult task than anticipated.

2) Magic. Oscar's magic abilities are going to take a shift in Trench, and he's going to have a learning curve. He already barely utilizes his magic, so anything that will help him grow more confident in his abilities will be welcome.

3) Corruption. I'm considering this heavily because he's going to be focusing on his farming skills and he's got a lot of guilt associated with his role in Deerington's endgame that he needs to sort through. Not only is he beating himself up for his role in Julia's death, he's also beating himself up for selfish mistakes that were not entirely his. I don't entirely yet know what this looks like... but I've had a thing for jackalopes lately, so odds are high I'm vibing on that theme.

4) Learning. I'm gonna have him learn what he can however he can, because he needs to be well rounded to fix the planting situation. Also, I might have him try to learn an instrument? He needs a hobby that is just for him and not necessarily for others.

Character Staying, Going Home, Going Beyond?: While I was sorely tempted to let him go home to get a glimpse of his canon fate for some closure (even if it's... Really Awful Closure; Peter ends up fully possessed by Paimon and forever left in the hands of a cult), Peter's state back home would just be too mentally scrambled and mutilated — if there even is any of Peter left at all to remain conscious. Also, there's the fact Peter would not choose to go home. It's what he's most afraid of, to lose his loved ones here and return to his world where he may not know his exact fate, but he can pretty much guess by now it's not great!! So Peter will be staying in Deerington, for at least a while. He'll be following his closest CR in terms of when to actually go through the Flesh Door, so I'm still sorting those details out, but I plan to let him stay around for a bit.

Event Ideas: Nothing too in particular just yet; so far I'm thinking he'll just be using this time to spend with his remaining loved ones and say devastating goodbyes to those who are choosing to go home (I'm ready to be broken in half with this; lets do it). I'd also like for him to take a trek out to the house he originally lived in here, do a final walk through its halls to sadly properly say a Goodbye to his old roommate who went home a few months ago. :'))))) If anyone might want to team up for some walking around and saying goodbye to things, we could incorporate anything you might like there too, for all the feels.

Character(s) I'm Bringing: Peter will be coming along to Chapter 2!

Job Ideas: Peter might possibly be starting out as a Civilian at first, but my plan for him is to go the Arcane / Scholar route at some point. It's not that he's suddenly developed a love of school.... but I think he'd seek something to keep him busy and it'd be a sort of stand-in for him going to college, which he had been planning to do in Deerington. Also, he's possessed by a demon king of Knowledge, and it would appease the demon to not only learn, but also to use what he learns in order to teach others, which is essentially his true role.
Blood Type(s) Ideas: At the moment, my plans are for him to be Darkblood to begin with. This would give him a power that belongs to him, something different from what his demon's powers are. Paimon's powers line very well with Paleblood, so I might be exploring that option later on, but I'd like to initially give Peter something he can work on for a little bit more autonomy at first. He'll be keeping Paimon's canon powers too, so his Darkblood abilities will be weaker, but as more information is given on corruption and whatnot, I might be dipping into that, too.
Omen(s) Ideas: I'm still deciding, but it will probably be some type of bat.........

Desired CR: Anything! People with supernatural experience, people with occult / demonology knowledge for Peter to potentially learn more from, other supernatural creatures. Fellow horror canon peeps for especially spooky times, people his demon can attach itself to and assist (or antagonise....)

Current Chapter 2 Plans: My overall plan is to explore more into demonology things with Peter. While his demon remains an ambiguous, traumatised version of itself, I want to explore more of the themes of Paimon from grimoires and whatnot, not only for him, but also for Peter. I want to incorporate more of the Demon King Aesthetic into his life and identity, as I forever nod towards Peter's true fate of being reborn as a King of Hell. I plan to explore even more of Peter losing himself along the way / the pair of them blending and whatnot, but also Peter actively learning more about Demonology / Occult Business, something he's been hiding from this whole time. I'd like for him to meet more people with knowledge on all of this and potentially learn from them. I'd also love to do more oldschool occulty things with Paimon: him forming bonds with more people and granting their wishes / being emotional support for them / sharing wisdoms / all the Ritual Things etc., and Peter possibly working with him to provide that for others. ....But also continuing to explore the horror side of it too, as I'm 100% here for people for Paimon to target / antagonise..... Basically all the Demon King Things, amped up.

Some notable changes will also be: Peter will be living with Luna Lovegood in Chapter 2, and he'll also be losing his dog, Rex. :') Rex canonically is dead along with the rest of Peter's family, a fact Peter's always sort of known deep down, but can finally accept now as Chapter 1 ends. Character Name: Castiel

Character Staying, Going Home, Going Beyond?: Cas is going through the Flesh Door.
Event Ideas:
Flesh Door – Cas can accompany anyone who may want a companion as they make their journey to the Flesh Door and onto the beach. This can be with either known or new CR!

Floral Beach – Cas will be sitting at the floral beach waiting for the people he knows to come through. Eventually, he’ll be lured into the waves. This is a great chance for one last chat before the end.

The Waves - Cas can accompany anyone who may want a companion as they swim out into the ocean to complete the ritual. This can be with either known or new CR!

Mini-Player Plots – Any that Cas would ICly participate in!
Conclusions – This feels more like a rebirth for Cas. With his memories recently wiped, the new location feels like a new beginning. There’s nothing for him to conclude - unless he’s losing close CR - at the moment, only new things to start! In chapter 2, he’ll be more focused on playing the guardian angel role for the grand of deerington, so expect him to be more involved in plots.

Chapter 2 Plans

Job Ideas: Unsure if Cas will have a job yet.
Blood Type(s) Ideas: Cas will keep his powers, but unsure if he’ll have additional powers. Right now, I’m leaning towards no.
Omen(s) Ideas: His Omen will be an itty bitty bee tentatively called Albina. Expect Cas to keep his Omen with him at all times since he’ll grow into the habit of speaking with them. In time, his Omen will speak to others, except it will do it with the waggle dance which can be translated by other Omens!

Current Chapter 2 Plans:
Halfway House – The Men of Letters Bunker will be coming with him and Cas will open up a halfway house to fill up the empty rooms!

Bee Rescue Preserve – The surrounding land of the Bunker will be used as a bee rescue preserve and anyone residing in the halfway house will be asked to mind the bees! They’re also welcome to go on bee rescue missions with him! Basically, whenever a beehive ends up in an unwanted place, he’ll transport the bees to his preserve rather than have the people destroy the hive.

Renarin will be returning back home to Urithiru, the City of Kings.
Event Ideas:
Home - Renarin will start to have visions of the new setting and the lighthouse. He’ll realize the lighthouse is his ticket home but not a permanent one but will still choose to have a last goodbye with his family and friends. Anyone is welcome to join him back to the world of Roshar and experience their first High Storm! Open to any and all CR here.

- Flesh Door – Once he gets back to Deerington he'll go through the Flesh Door. Renarin can accompany anyone who may want a companion as they make their journey to the Flesh Door and onto the beach.

Floral Beach – Renarin will be hesitant to go through the drowning ritual and stay at the floral beach for some time weighing his options. Anyone is welcome to chat with him here.

I’m hoping to turn him into a hunter who heals. So just think of him as the medic/healer of the team since he’s not very good at fighting yet. He'll need to learn how to fight without taking killing blows. He needs a swordmaster, badly!

Desired CR: HIT ME UP. If we've ever talked about something in the past and couldn't get around to it, now's a good time! I plan to have Dipper in the sandbox for a while so lets tie up any and all loose threads.

Super open to new stuff, too. Especially if anyone wants to get the ball rolling for CH2 early.

The whole Pines family will be going through the door. We are still hashing things out but it's very possible at least Dipper and Mabel will take a short trip home, feel extremely out of place, and end up coming back.

Event Ideas: Dipper is going to be trying to touch base with as much of his cr as he can so he can say good byes, give gifts and otherwise let people know he'll be on the other side.

Sandbox Ideas: GONNA WRAP UP A LOT OF BACKTAGS but I am open for shenanigans. It is hilarious that I think all of this will conclude right on his and Mabel's birthday which is the 31st of August. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TWINS.

Character(s) I'm Bringing: Dipper for sure, and i have a few ideas for second characters I am tossing around, but no promises yet.

Job Ideas:
Blood Type(s) Ideas: Paleblood! I've already started alluding to some of his abilities (since we were allowed to have brief visions of Trench) but I am also going to lean into Dreamwalking for him, too. He's also going to super struggle with the emotional aspect of it, and that will be fun for him to deal with.
Omen(s) Ideas: His dream guide is already a little owl, and so I have decided to be a loser and now it's a little owl that looks an awful lot like mothman. Because I can.

Desired CR: GIVE ME ALL OF IT. but specifically: friends his own age and also potential mentor types as he sort out his abilities.

Unwanted CR: No romance! He's covered in this regard!

Current Chapter 2 Plans: I'm still waiting on more detailed info before I make any solid plans, but Dipper is going to be diving head first into learning the mysteries of Trench and learning all about the abilities their blood can do. Which, may or may not be a good thing!

As for jobs I am not totally decided and it will depend on where he thinks he can be the most productive or learn the most. Consider him a freelancer for now!
