Character Name: Darth Maul

Employment in Deerington: He doesn't work. What a bum.

Day to Day Activities: Previously, Maul could be found generally fixing up his or Gee's home, but since he lost his sight, it's mainly been spent just learning how to maneuver around without tripping over his own two feet. He still likes to train with his lightsaber in his yard and train others.

About This Character: Maul's that cool character that only got ten minutes of screentime in the first prequel movie, but his got expanded a lot in the shows The Clone Wars and Rebels. He had a really rough upbringing being raised by Darth Sidious to become a Sith Lord himself, and at the canon point I've pulled him from, tends to spend his time trying to gain power and/or take revenge on Obi-Wan Kenobi. Grumpy, gruff, and completely psychopathic, there's glimmers of a heart under the psycho alien who will snap your neck in a heartbeat. While he is from the end of the Son of Dathomir comic, he is aware of his future due to an event where he got aged forward to the point of his death.
Any Warnings: There's extensive child abuse in his backstory both physical and mental, a few graphic deaths but nothing over PG-13 level, and some possible allusions to cannibalism due to his time being stuck on Lotho Minor with nothing else to eat.

Present Life: Maul went blind last month due to the evil faeries ripping his eyes out. (A sentence I never thought I would write...) So he's in kind of a weird place right now as he reorients his life to being without sight. He's very slowly learning how to see around him using the Force, but it's gonna be slow going for the foreseeable future. Still, nothing will put him down forever, not even losing one of his major senses.
Future Ideas: Maul's been hoarding a few Leitners and Jon, Martin, and company are going to be stealing them back. This will only end well, oh yes. He will not be happy about this. Looking to have him overuse his powers and go into full blown cuckoo for cocoa puffs insanity for a bit before someone can snap him back out of it. Also a possible plot where he goes fully psychotic Sith Lord and gets stuffed in one of these Mandalorian sarcophagus until he regains his chill. A long-term plot will be regaining his sight, but I want him to go a few more months at least before he finds a solution. If anyone has a character that could restore it/a wish they could grant/magic phoenix tears/etc, let me know!

CR You Want: Basically I love everyone around here, so I'm good with anything. He can always use more adult CR because it seems like he spends most of his time pissing off most people who are around his own age.

Slipping in to say how much I'm enjoying this budding CR so far! Paimon's whole "seeking out guidance thing" is simply going to grow stronger as he becomes more of a presence, so Maul being that kind of influence in his life is going to be very interesting! I'm excited to see how it's going to go :)

Also if Paimon happens to bump into him again while Maul's still lacking his eyeballs, I think he'd try to help him out? He might not be able to actually restore anything, but he'd at least try to help him in other ways. Them connecting through ~energy is really cool, so maybe him kind of working on controlling his own presence while using it to help guide Maul around if he needs something like that. PETER..... won't be thrilled because Maul still scares the hell out of him, but nobody asked you, Peter.

Caprica - Sakura & Clem

Age: Sixteen
Employment in Deerington: Just arrived but I guess unless/until she figures something else, student? At school? Lol she hasn't been since she was eight this is clearly gonna go amazingly guys.....
Residence in Deerington: I should. Figure housing for her. Yeah. Actually.
Day to Day Activities: Probably just generally wandering/exploring in getting her bearings for the most part. Probably enjoys the library a lot, and arty stuff? She loved drawing and such as a kid and all.

About This Character: Clementine was a normal, happy eight year old with her parents. Until the outbreak happened. This basically forced her to grow up and be independent, in learning to survive in this new world very very quickly. She has met up with a few groups over the years but things happened, usually death, and she goes on her way again. She's been looking after this one little boy since he was a baby when she was eleven so there's. That. Because you know, let the kid take responsibility for the baby this is Fine. She generally has a lot of guilt and baggage like whoa because of /gestures to Everything with this series in general. But she's trying. To keep hope and generally live by the morals and ideas Lee and her parents instilled in her, for all that she is also capable of doing what she has to in order to survive.
Any Warnings: General the Walking Dead warnings? Death/Murder/Mercy Killing, Self first aid in stitching herself up? Getting shot, almost drowning, child endangerment like wow guys, cannibalism is a Thing in the first season, general brutality with other survivors/walkers? It's a Lot guys, I totally get if you are kinda Nope.

Present Life: Clementine is basically just arrived so. In general I guess just settling in and adjusting to All of This? Which is kinda Difficult considering everything this month in particular but this is Fine. She is Fine. She's gonna be upset on learning about Glenn's fate since she knew him back when the outbreak first happened, before Glenn meets up with Rick and such. She's adjusting to not having AJ around to care for, in having Louis here and being Oblivious to his feelings and his figuring they are a couple (yay Telltale having different options with relationships causing drama?).
Future Ideas: In general? I guess for her to learn to relax? To figure what she wants to do? Now she isn't just constantly taking it day by day in surviving. Figuring food and shelter. She's not needing to worry about that now so getting her to figure out what she wants to do now she has this time, this chance to think about it? Now she has options, I guess?

Age: She's thirteen
Employment in Deerington: Student for now. (ngl kinda tempted with Flight to like. Have her go deliver stuff for people but hm.)
Residence in Deerington: Prospero, with Mami and the other magical girls.
Day to Day Activities: Checking the library, school, shopping, practicing sports or such, training with her cards or at least trying to. Now Syaoran is here once things are calmer? Ish? Maybe? Dates? To movies or shopping or such? Picnics? idk.

About This Character: She's a pretty normal teenager! Magic and most powerful sorcerer ancestor aside that is with Clow. She's a magical girl not in the transforming and amazing attacks type but in the Tomoyo, her best friend, makes her a million cute outfits and she uses magical cards. She has two guardians back home, Keroberos and Yue that are also Very Attached to her. She's from a shoujo so of course there are Crushes Galore, including Moon Crushes because she gets doki over those with the influence of the Moon. She loves Syaoran, hates Maths and broccoli and loves gym class and sweets and just having time to be a normal teenager with her friends and boyfriend pretty much.
Any Warnings: idk I guess maybe implications of memory shenanigans? She gets into dangerous situations and such but things work out because CCS is the lighter CLAMP series.

Present Life: Syaoran, her boyfriend is here! So there's gonna be that. Of course. She'll be pretty miserable and worried about everyone to really take advantage of that and like. Go on a date yet at this point though unfortunately. At the moment she is figuring her Kero plushie can also transform ala actual Kero with True Form. She's slowly figuring her limits and the warps with the cards?
Future Ideas: Dates? With Syaoran? Checking in with everyone in the aftermath of all this and dealing with her likely ???? over Fai and all? If I have enough points maybe next or the following month? Going for a stabilizing gem? Or something? Maybe something with work part time around her school stuff?

Character Name: Fern
Age: 17
Employment in Deerington: FEAR combat and weapons specialist.
Residence in Deerington: A treehouse near the Parks and Rec building and Lake Tomie.
Day to Day Activities: Fern tends to loiter around places, sometimes with his guitar or fishing at the lake or pond. He also has a tendency to hang out in trees or other shrubbery. He has daily training sessions with Maul and gun practice with K.

About This Character:Fern is the result of Adventure Time's main character, Finn, getting turned into a sentient sword and then merging with another sentient cursed sword, the Grass Sword. Physically, that means he's now made out of grass and has various plant powers. Mentally, that means he has two separate minds making up his Fern self: that of a human teenager who grew up in a post-apocalyptic Earth (and used to be a cosmic entity of change), and an eldritch horror octopus-spider who likes said human teenager but influences his darker thoughts and feelings. Fern's self esteem is essentially non-existent so he's often extremely self-loathing, and he generally thinks violence solves everything. On top of all that he has severe problems with his identity, having lost his previous one as Finn, and frequently questions his personhood. He has a lot of pent-up frustration and emotional instability, and on really bad days this can cause him to have destructive meltdowns.

Any Warnings: Being made out of grass Fern comes with buckets of body horror! On top of that he has low self-esteem, and has a lot of issues with his identity. He also has very violent tendencies and his past involves violence against children, death and parental neglect/abuse. Grass Demon comes with cephalopod and spider imagery.

Present Life: Fern suffered his second death back in April at the hands of one of the Leitner books. He is holding onto a couple (one that essentially makes you invisible, one that writes the secrets of whoever reads it in its pages) for research purposes, as he and Paimon are interested in their whole eldritch deal. Regarding Paimon, Fern has dedicated himself to him as his knight and is willing to do anything to protect him. More recently Fern had a run-in with Ultimate Archivist Jon Sims, who had a look inside his head and made contact with the Grass Demon. This sent Fern into total meltdown and he wound up stabbing both Jon and Glitch. In June the Grass Demon met a few folks in the Great Sleep, so the word is slowly starting to get out about him. This month sucks pretty hard since all the herbicide in the air is making him sick (being a plant sucks guys). Also he's in love with Varian oops.
Future Ideas: He'll be attending school in the fall! That will be exciting. After getting the story clue I'm planning on having him get more involved in the main plot, and he and Varian are going to do some research on multiversal portals (which I'm sure will go super well). After the current event he'll likely hole up somewhere and hide from people as his self-loathing will be at an all time high and his emotional stability won't be so hot. I'd love for there to be fallout from his trial, since it involves attacking so many Sleepers!

I have a personalized horror in mind for Fern that I will do one day that involves him splitting back into the Grass Sword and (broken) Finn Sword, so that a bunch of people can get cursed with a frantic Grass Sword controlling their arm and trying to put itself back together.

Lastly, one big plan I am one day hoping for is for someone or a group of people to take it upon themselves to help Fern out and kill the Grass Demon. This will have the unfortunate side effect of killing Fern since he can't exist without it, and would lead to his third death (which means loss of some canon and in game memories for at least a month). Pain for all!

CR You Want: Fern is basically an eldritch monstrosity, so characters who would bond over that or would be interested research-wise will get a lot out of him. He's also pretty easy to get negative cr with if you are looking for that. Since he's getting into music more musically-minded people would be fun, as well as kids his own age (especially if they think he's a weirdo). He also gets very attached to parental figures since he lost his when he was four-ish.

Day to Day Activities: Homura's day-to-day activities are rather boring: get up, go to work, go get what's necessary and then go back home. This will likely change since she's new at the moment.

About This Character: Homura is a former Magical Girl and time traveler who, like the rest of the Puella Magi cast, made a deal with a sketchy cat in exchange for a wish - in her case it resulted in the ability to go back in time over and over so she could hopeful prevent the death of her best friend. Approaching her 100th loop, it really wasn't working until it did thanks to Madoka herself. Then the Rebellion movie happened.

Homura herself is pretty withdrawn and tends to come off as standoff-ish so it'll take her a long time to warm up to people. But it is possible and Homura herself may learn to open up again.

Present Life: Currently Homura's trying to get a feel for the town and its history and residents, and has experienced her first event. She hates it!

Future Ideas: I have none at the moment due to her being new. Meeting more people that'll drag her out for her shell. And hoping to get her help for her physiologic problems.

Personal Style: I tend to default to brackets for no real reason, and am happy to match any style. Medium-to-slow tagger, and I try to balance new threads with backtags, but I can lose track of things despite my best intentions! With backtags, I'm likely to prioritize threads that are plot heavy over lighter interactions.

Day to Day Activities: Usually, Jeff can be found going for runs, working at the high school, scouring the music selection at Pixie's, grading papers/doing other teacher stuff at the diner or coffee shop. He often practices and plays the guitar, but only ever in the comfort of his home, so nobody's likely to actually hear it unless they're dropping by his house and catch him by surprise. He's outgoing and friendly, so if you want to assume he's chatted with your character before, we can pretty easily handwave that!

About This Character: Jeff's a sunny, cheerful bard from a modern (sub)urban fantasy universe where magic's out in the open and fairly mundane. Back home, he was a single dad, teaching high school and living in the suburbs. Here, he's... teaching high school and living in the suburbs. Depending on his mood, he can come across as any combination of friendly, chatty, high strung, anxious, occasionally manic, dorky in a dad way, and often sweet-but-a-bit-stupid. Basically he's a gentle himbo.

He often presents a goofy/silly exterior to deflect or distract from his own issues. Past the surface level, he tends to be serious, thoughtful, and empathetic (more than he's willing to let on during light interactions) and he's carrying a lot of guilt and self loathing from some mistakes he made back when he was a young rockstar bard constantly casting reckless spells and mainlining drugs... and getting possessed by a demon, which caused him to spiral into failure. Jeff can be kind of... deliberately shallow in initial interactions with people, and quick to brush past anything serious in his life, because he's pretty much convinced that nobody wants to see anything but the nice, cheerful surface.

Any Warnings: Jeff's past includes drug addiction, inpatient recovery, suicidal ideation, hallucinations, demonic possession, and psychological torture. Currently, he engages in occasional recreational pot smoking to manage his issues with anxiety.

Present Life: Since his arrival, Jeff's been doing his best to desperately cling to any sense of stability and normalcy here, in between dealing with the de-aging curse (which is finally over) and a brief stint as a bloodthirsty fairy. He's started to (slowly) embrace his magic again, and has cast some bardly spells around a small handful of people, though he still won't use magic outside of an emergency. Also, the rumors around town have outed some of his past issues with demons and addiction, though he's still reluctant to open up much about it.

Oh and since Jeff depends on routine and a set of habits and self-imposed rules to get through the day, all the chaos and violence this month is going to make him extra susceptible to DESPAIR. Expect a post sometime today where he's going to chase that high like it's the greatest drug he's ever taken, and do his best to spread it to others.

Future Ideas: After his death, Jeff's going to dive into a couple of new projects in an attempt at doing something productive that might actually help the Sleepers at large.

• Magic experimentation! He wants to see if hybridizing other worlds' magic with his own is possible, and to what extent, and will probably hitting up more magical folks about this.
  
• Recovery support group! Assuming there isn't one already, Jeff wants to start up a vaguely AA/NA group for fellow Sleepers dealing with or in recovery from addiction, just to give them some structure and support in a place that's HELLBENT ON TAKING THAT AWAY.
  
• Also he really needs to actually open up to people! Jeff has a tendency to try to diminish or quickly change the subject when the focus is too much on him and his issues, and I'd love for somebody to catch on and press him to fully open up.
  
• Coming to terms with his own complicated feelings about his demon experience. (SPOILERS! He doesn't think his demon was evil, and he feels sorry for it, but has a difficult time expressing it without feeling like it means he's broken or monstrous!)
  
• Getting him to toughen up a little/work on skills to better survive this place, without losing sight of the strengths of pacifism and kindness. I'd like him to struggle with this as time goes on!

CR You Want: I'm good for everything, positive, negative, and in-between! Also, I tend to struggle with initial meeting/small talk threads, and am always happy to handwave that if we want to go into a thread assuming that our characters have met before or at least have some passing familiarity with each other.

Also, while I welcome cr with all ages, Jeff generally won't comment to young characters' network posts unless he's got some established cr with them first, because, well. He's a 40-something dude. He'll leave the kids to their social media!

Personal Style: mostly do action/brackets because it's personally easier visually but will match anyone's preference! definitely tend to do quite a bit of backtagging, with a focus on tag bombing in batches.
OOC Limits: heavy gore themes are a hard no for me (ironic considering who i play, but trust me, it has to be extreme) & animal/pet deaths. anything else is just a matter of discussion to decide the limits.

FRANK CASTLE—

Character Name: frank castle
Age: 42
Employment in Deerington: manager at dearly diner, freelance handyman
Residence in Deerington: 1433 gatlin drive + 528 david cliff apartments
Day to Day Activities: he always spends his mornings at dearly diner, and now that he's working there as a manager, he can be found there even more often, sometimes helping with service or sticking to the back where he'll help with cooking meals (he'll more regularly be in charge of the coffee to make sure it's made just right). if his work isn't at the diner, it'll be doing some side business with handiwork throughout the town, which is his way of keeping updated with the local information and suspicious activity that are going on.

About This Character: frank is fairly reserved with a lot of secret history that he doesn't tend to share too often here, including his time as a soldier before his family was murdered, sending him on a revenge spree that gave him the name of "the punisher". instead, he tries to keep things as simple as possible, remaining polite and gentlemanly to those he meets (with a dash of sass thrown in if he's encouraged enough) and mostly keeping quiet unless spoken to. he'll only ever raise aggression when prompted, to which he can be incredibly violent and if he has good reason, he will kill someone who's hurt or tried to hurt someone innocent.
Any Warnings: as the punisher, frank's history and characters contains: violence, gore, murder, trauma, ptsd, detailed mentions of child death, various other aspects to military life, family loss, and multiple kills.

Present Life: frank has currently been under a lot of pressure over the course of the month due to his assigned ultimate title of "ultimate punisher" causing him to fall into more aggressive and violent habits. he's currently facing frequent inklings to fight, putting on his punisher vest and going on a rampage to kill betties and other troubling enemies, having a short temper with any existing cr that tries to talk him out of him. at the same time, he's also being extra protective of his close cr, and will retaliate at anyone who happens to hurt them.
Future Ideas:

◼ fighting/killing sleepers right now, it'll be more of a challenge to get positive cr going, but due to frank's current state of mind, i'd love for the chance to have him kill a few possible sleepers, either due to his punisher mode taking care of someone causing trouble or accidentally through some kind of dispute. also anyone being a danger to laura or trying to restrain her is absolutely cause for him to fight and/or kill them. i also have a plotting comment with further event ideas.

currently, these might be on hold until frank reverts back to normal, but always interested in these:
◼ diner ads/cooking lessons things always get busier when it comes to returning after a heavy food shortage so frank will be looking for anyone to take up some part time gigs around the diner, especially in the kitchen. for this, he might actually be willing to help people out with learning to cook, especially with all the kids in town that seem to be raising themselves and should know some of the most basic recipes so they don't at least starve. if anyone wants to take a risk to have frank castle as a teacher, take advantage while the offer's on the table.

About This Character: Ruby is an awkwardly cheerful bundle of energy. She's a Huntress and the leader of Team RWBY (Pronounced Ruby, because that's not confusing.). She fights monsters and does her best to make the world a better place. While she generally does her best to come off as carefree she's got the weight of her world on her shoulders and a boat load of trauma that she's just not dealing with.

Any Warnings: Mentions of death, dismemberment, she's from a world where nightmare monsters that are attracted to negative emotions exist. So pretty Grimm topics can come up.

Present Life: July is being about as unkind to Ruby as it can. Her boyfriend became the ultiamte betrayer and made her promise to stop him if he started going off the deepend. And then he went off the deepend and she's stuck trying to stop him.

She was very close winning a game of "slowly convince the people who want to murder me not to go through with it" but July's plot also threw a wrench in that and she's going to be killed by her long time enemy Neopolitan. So that's great.

In general she's been out there doing her absolute best to help everyone out and all her hard work is starting to crumble around her. The poor girl is going to be demoralized after this month and is going to slowly start picking up the pieces once the dust has settled.

Future Ideas:
- Ruby eventually going to drop out of the criminal weapons and making and offer to make custom weapons for people. She comes from a world where almost everything is a melee weapon and also a gun so odds are they'll all end up being a little bizarre.
- She's had a few threads where she's started teaching other people how to hold their own in a fight. I'd like her to get more involved with that.
- Her uncle showed up in the game recently. She's going to have a network post at some point just gushing about her cool trash family.
- In August she's at least going to be pretty darn depressed but working to get that spring back in her step.

About This Character: Gee is a changeling, which means he was once human and now... mostly isn't anymore. He was changed by one of the Fae after living with them in Arcadia for some time untold. He can't remember most of his life before going to Arcadia, and he only remembers Arcadia clearly in dreams (which means he's been remembering it more clearly since getting to Deerington). Gee is kind of paranoid and it leads him to hide things that are important and to have various fail-safes in anything he designs. He's also generally suspicious of anything that seems Too Good. He's currently interested in digging into the mystery of Sodder and Deerington and is willing to do a lot of things to get information. Full background/personality here.

Present Life: Gee has had a bumpy time with relationships, still not entirely sure what is and isn't real in Deerington. His recent big adventure was fighting the Pthmerian Queen and dealing with rumors.

Future Ideas: I'd like toe develop more of his CR; his somewhat rocky start is definitely in part due to my erratic schedule and RL stress, which is now subsiding! Yay! I'm interested in pooling information with other people that are researching Sodder/Deerington and generally interested in getting him out there more. About This Character:
Glitch in the long and short of it is a gremlin child. Pretty stand offish, rude and probably sounds super aggressive when you meet him. Wants to be self reliant but is pretty realistic in terms of making allies for survival's sake. Though his good points are he's extremely loyal and is willing to protect the few people he considers friends.

Background wise Glitch grew up in a thing called The Dome to protect the last bits of humanity for a supposed nuclear apocalypse. Children, teens and adults are separated between different domes and are raised apart from one another. Glitch's upbringing was particularly rough in the Teen dome for the long work hours and how little there was to eat. So, he pretty much broke the rules with a bunch of other kids and participated in an illegal fight club to earn extra food tickets. Plot twist though, the domes are made to contain the super powered population of the world and the whole end of the world thing is made up to keep people from leaving.

Dealing with Glitch means dealing with a very particular sassy, rude teen who has been experiencing a lot of new things in Deerington. Expect a lot of weird questions what a guitar is or what sweets are, something akin to that. If you want to know more my App goes more into depth of his world, history and personality.
Any Warnings: Child abuse and mild cases of starvation are something that can be mentioned sometimes. Also he swears a lot, like a lot.

Present Life: Glitch is pretty much experiencing things that a normal teen might actually get to experience. You know, aside from the horror of Deerington. There's a lot of weird culture shock for him since there's a lot lacking in the dome. Effectively, he's become a freedom gremlin and is pretty much doing whatever he wants. He's reading a lot of books now. Important game stuff though is he tried to cover for Fern for stabbing him...that didn't turn out because Monokuma. Also he's been trying to hide his powers for the most part but has revealed himself to a handful of people already, the event with it's punishment game is probably going to completely expose him though.

Future Ideas: Stuff you want your character to eventually be doing, ideas you maybe have for some development etc.

CR You Want:
Found Family: What better way to learn how much you missed out on when you get a bunch of people to be like family. Gimme your moms, dads, weird aunts and uncles, and all them sibling and cousin type figures. In return you get what angry boy who will fight for you.

Friendships: Time for him to develop meaningful relationships that don't depend on survival or feeling like you owe somebody. Give this boy a friend.

Romance?: Not for a long time yet, but Glitch is probably going to get a couple of crushes on some big soft boys. But, that's it. Nothing really of note to here other than this is likely to be a long game since he's a mess of trust issues.

Training: He's quick, he's grace, he'll kick you in the face. While Glitch is pretty quick on his feet he's got poor upper body strength and he could actually use some real training with hand to hand combat. So, I'm down for trainers. He's picked up throwing knives so anything to do with that could be fun. Really, weapon focused stuff is also good too.

Negative CR: Not sure what kind but I'm up for all kinds of Negative Cr. He's definitely got a pretty abrasive personality so I could see him rubbing some people the wrong way.

About This Character: A light-hearted optimistic young superhero with the ability to turn into animals and other creatures. He can be pretty goofy and likes cracking jokes, although he's also gained a sense of responsibility especially now that he's been leading a superhero team back home. As leader of the Outsiders, he strives to inspire and be a role model for young metahumans. He also has his share of trauma that he's working through, and worked as an actor in a Star Trek-esque show for a while. He's generally friendly and eager to make more friends.
Any Warnings: He has trauma involving the deaths of others, which he will only detail if asked about his past. This includes parental death/forced suicide. It's possible for his trauma to be set off by waterfalls or even things like bees and honey. Also discussion of events in his home world could involve the major plot thread of the most recent season of Young Justice, which involved the concept of metahuman trafficking, which comes with talk of the exploitation and deaths of minors. These are all unlikely to come up in casual conversation unless prompted. I'll do my best to warn and be mindful of others' preferences.

Present Life: Gar just got here the other month, so he's mostly been settling in and Dealing with his first two events. Day to Day Activities: Rowan works out a lot. He's Notably Buff, but not in the heavy body building way, just beefy. So more often than not he can be caught on runs and doing workouts in parks, etc. He's also taking art classes and the like at the college, so he'll be around attempting to sketch things.

About This Character: Rowan has been trained to kill a human in every way there is to kill a human and then some. He also believes in using this power for Good, even if it is at the cost of his own soul. In his world, no one dies, except by the hand of a Scythe, a secularly ordained killer, to maintain population control (supposedly). Rowan was selected as an apprentice to one such Scythe, who attempted to teach him the honorable way to kill people and to respect them as they died. He succeeded. Then that Scythe "died" and Rowan was taken in by a psychopath. There were a lot of mass killings and Pyschopath Scythe walking around calling himself the Alpha and the Omega during them. It was cute. So Rowan killed him and went on a mission to eliminate all the Bad Scythes from the world. Then more stuff happened but it's gruesome so we won't go into it here.

Generally Rowan is a really sweet kid. He just has tons of PTSD and a skewed view of himself that builds upon the idea that he is evil and a weapon and needs to be carefully used.

His primary drive is to help people avoid the traumatic, supernaturally-involved lifestyle that got forced upon him.

Present Life: Arya is having a pretty heavy month this July. She’ll be falling into despair, committing a murder, and then going into hiding to avoid a trial, but dealing with the corresponding despair letdown/guilt that comes from her crime.
Future Ideas: Arya has a lot of trauma she's healing from, and I'd like to continue that. Her murder will really shake her up, and she'll be dealing with whether or not she's becoming the person she wants to be, and she'll also be dealing with the extent to which her former cult still has a hold on her.

at night, you might catch him near the hospital because he does take blood from the blood bank because he's a vampire and all. he doesn't like to drink from the vein unless he's off the rails and no one wants that to happen.

About This Character: stefan's a vampire who was born in 1864 and was turned by one katherine pierce, who is both in game and who he's dating. they have a long, complicated history and they've gone through bouts of hating each other and not hating each other. they're good now.

he also has a blood addiction, which sucks for a vampire, wherein if he drinks too much from a human, he'll turn into a ripper which basically means he'll try and kill you and eat you. he's sought some help with that but it's an ongoing process.

Present Life: stefan's having a crappy time during the event, thanks for asking! he's got a truckload of guilt that's manifested as his ripper self so if anyone wants to deal with a really violent vampire part of him, he's there. he's also busy fighting robots and working out some of his issues through violence like the healthy person he is.

he's happy in his personal life as he has a girlfriend and he has a house and he has friends and he's able to kind of live for himself. he's still worried that it's going to fall apart but he's good for right now.

Whether you're bound for Heaven or Hell is entirely on you. Unless there's an agent of Hell whispering in your ear to sway you, he won't interfere with the choices of mortals. He also tends to respond to people who reach out for advice (pleas of the soul) and will often speak with those who seem to need someone to speak to, but he's no priest!

Any Warnings: He's an angel, so ideas of God and general Judeo/Christian references will come up.

Present Life: He's a little isolated (living with the bees and all) so I've been trying to get him more involved with others. Typically, this consists of speaking with lost souls more than anything. He's a soldier and works under the guise that he's there to protect others, so going in to fix a problem, then moving on. He's not the type to forge connections on his own, and won't reach out to others without a reason. So, characters that excel at forging connections are most welcome! Otherwise, he's more like an angelic drifter.

Future Ideas: Form friendships, befriend morally grey (or villainous) characters. I love intellectual conversations or conversations on morality and just about anything that might question his world view. He's always open to new CR since he considers everyone a creature of God and therefore is fond of them even the morally questionable types.

He's the embodiment of passion which comes out in the form of anger that he uses to propel himself toward his goal of becoming the number one hero. At a glance, he comes off as a hot-head, but his passion isn't clouded by anger but fueled by it. His stubborn, brazen personality does little to endear him to others. Those that stick around often realize he has a hard time socializing with others because he's terrible at expressing himself. He's very good at dismantling others' quirks and personalities in order to better crush them, but it's only when he puts forth the effort to hold back his anger in order to listen to them that he comes to understand them. That still doesn't mean he'll suddenly be nice - he won't! He tends to show he cares in more subtle ways. He's a tough-love type of character that will run you over if you're not careful.

About This Character: On the surface, Martin is friendly, if a bit awkward and nervous. He can trip over his words sometimes, but he tries very hard to be supportive and empathetic. Getting past that surface level can be a challenge as he general tries to keep people at arm's length out of habit. In a crisis situation, he can become more confident and assertive, doing his best to keep people safe and taking calculated risks. Those who dig in and really get to know him will find that Martin is still a very kind man, but he can be snide and a little high-strung, very focused on planning and trying to control as many variables in the world around him to protect his loved ones. He's also incredibly lonely and suffers from a more mundane sort of depression that results in occasional spells of apathy that he has to force himself to bull through and remember why and how he cares.
Any Warnings: Martin is from a horror canon and has had a lot of horrific things happen to him! The most likely to come up are emotional manipulation/abuse, isolation, abandonment, depression (both supernatural and mundane), memory manipulation and loss, claustrophobia, character death, apocalypse, body horror, and disorientation/reality warping.

Present Life: Martin lives with his eldritch bf, Jonathan Sims and his dead coworker, Sasha James. His main goals are surviving, keeping the people he cares about alive, and preparing for the next thing that's going to try to kill them... around more mundane chores. While he's supportive of research efforts, he's choosing to focus on keeping everyone else going rather than delving too deeply, into things, himself. Someone needs to keep a level head and he's surrounded by people who get obsessive about research! He can most often be found at the library or out shopping for supplies. He's also focused on finding and destroying Leitners, cursed books that have turned up around town from his canon!

Future Ideas: When things are not quite as dire... Martin is actually an amateur poet! I'd love for him to get strong-armed into participating in a poetry-reading night. On the more plotty side of things, I'm going to be saving up to get him a story clue to force him out of his comfort zone in just supporting other people in plot stuff. Martin is also probably going to be getting a bit jealous of Jon's growing friendships with other people in the coming months. He tries to keep a lid on it, but if your character is friendly with Jon and you want someone being snippy... he can provide.

CR You Want: Friends! Martin needs more friends. He's got some friendly acquaintances going and I'd like to deepen those and reach out for more. On the flip side... give Martin some enemies. Day to Day Activities: He goes to school EVERY DAY because the little weirdo actually loves it- and of course, spends quite a bit of time at the apothecary. Otherwise, he's a pretty anti-social creature, he spends most of his time in his basement lab at home. When he can be dragged out into the light of day he can be found at the library or the junkyard - for learning and finding things to build stuff with.

About This Character: A teenage alchemist with a mind that's firing way too many cylinders at once. Varian is obsessed with a Capital O about science and spends most of his time creating potions and machines to try and make the world a better place. He grudgingly knows a bit about magic, too- only because his world is chock full of it and his weirdo friends keep dragging him into their magical adventures. Science is superior though, prove him wrong!! He's a reformed villain- having a rough patch in the middle there that he categorically will try to avoid talking about. He has a desperate need for praise and validation so if you give him that he will literally walk through fire for you. He's a righteous little shit who always thinks he's the smartest person in the room- but does genuinely want to do good in the world. He's often accompanied by his semi-sentient raccoon, Ruddiger. Rapunzel also left him Max- they HATE each other so feel free to witness a raccoon and a horse screaming unintelligible animal noises at one another around town.
Any Warnings: Varian has an absolute shed-load of self-loathing issues. The whole Former Disney Villain thing weighs heavy on him and he has a massive guilt complex about it. It's deeply unlikely he'll bring it up, but if he does there's parental magical not-death, kidnapping, drugging, attempted murder, prison and an attempted suicide mission.

Present Life: Varian's had a real bad few months. The labyrinth showed off his memories to people he didn't especially want knowing his past to, the rumours added to that and it all culminated in him getting the Ultimate Betrayer in July and him falling completely off the Disney Villain wagon. He's spending July stomping around with giant robots, slaughtering townspeople and stabbing the people he cares about in the back. On the 20th, he's going to die via Monokuma trial and when he comes back with deathflu have the guilt following him around. He has a toplevel here if anyone wants in on that. He's also coming to terms with his bisexuality and trying to deal with setting his relationship with Ruby on fire and repressing all his Fern feelings- frankly, he's doing great in the teen romance department by making a mess of everything.
Future Ideas: He's going to be VERY avoidant throughout August. He won't show up for school or work and basically hide himself away while his self-loathing takes on whole new levels. Depending on what August's plot is, he might end up coming out to help people, but his usual day-to-day activities will find him noticeably absent. Please drag him outside.

I prefer to backtag until the completion of threads, so long as everyone is still having fun. Recently I've had to drop more threads than I'd like, and I'm trying to get better at that.
NOTE: I am in grad school full-time while also working full-time, so please forgive random bouts of slowness. A week between tags is not unusual for me, but neither is boomeranging. It's all about what time I have available, and it varies a lot day-to-day. If this is an issue or you need a tag back on a time limit (such as AC), let me know.

Character Name: Technical Boy
Age: looks in his mid-20s, but is really 130+ (because he's a New God)
Employment in Deerington: Network security, primarily for Ashe's operation at the Real Hair of the Dog. He's also the administrator for a securely encrypted database called ICOE and a little games app that's on everyone's Fluids called GROW.
Residence in Deerington: Brahms, 418 David Cliff Apartments (which is a joke reference that I need to point out because I'm fond of it)
Day to Day Activities: Every once in a while he'll pop up around town (usually for events), but Tech Boy almost never physically leaves the safety of his apartment, preferring to skulk around on the Network instead. When he does go out, he's started to hang out in Deerington's pub (while K is working) and will take in-person meetings with other Sleepers there.
His favorite hobby is to argue with people on the Network as a means of information gathering and for fun. This is where he's visible most often. When he's not doing that, Tech Boy has been exploring the available technology in Deerington and picking at the Network from the inside (with the help of a little friend from home). He's been picking up the occasional odd tech support/repair jobs as things come up and has been investigating the Broadcasting Station.

About This Character: [ App ] The Technical Boy is one of the New Gods, god of technology and embodiment of the Internet. In his canon timeline, he was doing really well and held a lot more power than he does in Deerington, and that's put him in a particularly foul mood. Not that he was ever a particularly charming sort to begin with.
He can be a deeply annoying and unpleasant sort of character, but, out of necessity, he warms to people he finds interesting/useful/of a like mind and has been pretty quick to offer his IT help. In order to survive and be effective as a deity, he'll need the help of some worshipers acquaintances. This means he'll try to make an effort to play nice. Maybe. Hopefully. But like the internet at large, he is very rude, vulgar, and quick to rise to a fight.
Any Warnings: strong language, drug use, violence, verbal and/or physical abuse, and some adult content.
Technical Boy has a fondness for the word "fuck". His vulgar language is the thing that will come up most often. (It can be toned down at a player's request, but he likely won't watch his language just because it makes a character uncomfortable.) He's also high about 90% of the time. Mostly, it's a stress coping mechanism.

Present Life: Other than what has been previously described (see also: Employment and Day to Day Activities), Tech Boy hasn't been very active of late. He got beaten up by orcs and turned into a fairy (he got better), and this is why he doesn't go outside a lot.
The most significant development in his life since coming to Deer has been dating KD6-3.7, but for as much as Tech Boy's in everyone else's business, he's been pretty private about his personal life. This is changing as he's very slowly learning to trust people.

Future Ideas: Despite his prickly personality, he really really wants to be helpful to his fellow Sleepers. This is the purpose of the database and the games all. He's also begun offering tech/typing/programming classes, but nothing formally. If there's enough interest, maybe he will, but he's skeptical about the practical need.
➟ Shortly after he arrived, Tech Boy hosted a photo "contest." Thinking he might do another one of those… but not in July. Likely between events while there's a break in the action.

CR You Want: Tech Boy really likes arguing with people over the Network. More of this, because it's nothing personal and it's been great fun. Ideally, he needs more people he's not outrightly hostile or ambivalent towards. He doesn't do "friends" (with a few exceptions) but anyone willing to withstand him in the interest of mutual survival is great. Negative CR is pretty much expected with a character like this, but it can be tempered with the "I don't like you but otherwise we're going to die here" perspective.
