Day to Day Activities: Duping native residents with cards games (he beats the pants off practically everyone in canon), doing odd jobs for Sleepers for food, smokes, whatever. Harassing his lesser half, as well as other friends/enemies he's made.
About This Character: Bucky is a boy in a mask, both literally and figuratively. Orphaned at 12 and left with only his father's penchant for anger, Bucky lashes out at the world and the people in it with an easy grin and quick wit that belies his inner demons. He hides his insecurities and rage under the guise of discipline focused through rigorous training in the Army to become Captain America's partner.

This is his identity and the mask he wears, stopping at nothing to be wanted, useful, and relevant in a world of super heroes and super villains.

Present Life: Bucky will be learning about his future crimes from this month's event and will be skewered by Logan. When he returns he'll be pretty subdued for awhile.

Day to Day Activities: He is a fucking tornado of energy and shitty ideas, so you never know what he'll get into. He made a ventriloquist out of a giant alligator and named it Geraldine. This month he is the Ultimate Crossdresser and running around in full drag with a terrible British accent.

About This Character: Tuck is seven-foot with an axe and a bass guitar on his back. Both his looks and personality are big, loud, and can be intimidating. But all Tuck wants are friends. He just doesn't know how to GET them. His social habits are bizarre, awkward, and sometimes just straight up rude, but when he realizes he's fucked up Tuck is quick with an apology.

Any Warnings: cultural insensitivity, can be unintentionally sexist

Present Life: He's living off his waifu's earnings because he cannot hold down a job to save his life. Sometimes you can find him in a bar or on the streets jamming out.
Future Ideas: Vyng and Tuck will be opening a gay bar for adults at some point and Tuck will finally have a job jamming out with his band in drag.

CR You Want: TUCK WANTS FRIENDS!! That's all he wants! He wants friends to protecc and let them protecc him so he doesn't always have to be the macho he-man in every situation. I'm a little on the slow side, particularly with also going back to work again after lockdown beginning to be lifted in the UK. My 'weekend' is mid-week, as I'm a weekend worker. I do try to get back to people within the week, and not let things get much older than a week but yeah, I can take a while getting back to things sometimes. That being said, I can hit things back quicker at times! It changes up a lot, depending on circumstances. Employment in Deerington: Deerington Highschool Student, she'll be going into 12th grade after the summer! After doing a little assistant work, she took over some Newt's of responsibilities at The Menagerie and does on occasion make home visits.
Residence in Deerington: 410 Prospero Townhouses, currently living alone.
Day to Day Activities: Although they're currently on summer break, at school she is commonly found with Peter Graham trailing behind her like a gloomy shadow. If you've seen either of them around at school, you'll have seen the other close by. Luna can also be found walking a larger-than-usual husky by the name of Helga, who was adopted by Newt Scamander during a December plot back in 2018. She also goes about attending to people's pets/creatures for checkups, or can be found at the Menagerie. Additionally, she spends a lot of time in and around the Deerington National Park.

About This Character: Luna is a teenage witch from the Harry Potter series, introduced in the Order of the Phoenix as Hogwarts' weird kid loner. Known for her dreamy demeanour, uncomfortable honesty and bizarre beliefs, Luna is well known in the school as 'Loony Lovegood' - even in the weird and wonderful world of Harry Potter can people be 'too weird'. She later joins Dumbledore's Army in response to Umbridge's measures at the school and becomes one of Harry's closest friends - aiding him in dealing with death and loss, as well as joining the fight against the Death Eaters. In Deathly Hallows, she was kidnapped and imprisoned at Malfoy Manor in a bid to silence her father's support of Harry, as well as arguably being valuable as a close friend of Harry's. Her current canon-point is April 30th/May 1st 1998, on the eve of the Battle for Hogwarts, where she's heading back to Hogwarts after Neville called her back via the DA coins.

Any Warnings: Luna can make reference to her past experiences at school, where she was bullied, had her things stolen, and was essentially ostracised by her peers. She also has suffered parental death, something she personally witnessed. Warnings of essentially being a child soldier/war settings do come into play, as well as kidnap, forced imprisonment and magical torture.

Present Life: Luna is the Ultimate Friend this month, which manifested in her being driven to do everything she can for people/her friends, and trying to help them as much as she can. This also had her out in town a lot, using her magic to help tackle the happenings going on in Deerington. She's been putting out fires, cleaning off graffiti, fighting the Robokumas and Betties, as well trying to keep Fern alive/together thanks to the heavy usage of pesticides. This over-usage of magic ultimately wears her down towards the end of the month, to the point of collapsing and falling into a short coma so she can recover, where she's looked after by Mrs Sheringham.

Additionally, her relationship and budding romance with Peter Graham has been growing in various ways. After clearing the air between them last month, they went on a date at the start of the month at the arcade and it was very cute. Luna also learned about Paimon being a demon last month and decided to throw herself into research to try and find a way to help Peter. With Peter's status as the Ultimate Host meaning Paimon has been taking control more and more of him as the month's gone on, she's decided to form a bond/make a pact with Paimon to become 'summoner/magician' in hopes of achieving equilibrium between demon and host, so that Peter isn't completely lost under Paimon's growing power and influence.

Future Ideas: I'm planning on getting Luna some of her things from home, namely her Hogwarts school trunk, and also some potions supplies. She's built up a small collection of plants from home from a couple of months ago and I'd like for her to attempt making some kinds of potions to sell: namely calming draughts and sleeping potions tbh. Y'all gonna need it. I'd also like to see her reaching out more to people with experience with demons and such as she struggles to come to terms with her bond with Paimon, and try to navigate that. Additionally, I think it'd be cool for her to start collecting information on the creatures found in Deerington and putting together a book of sorts to help Sleepers in dealing with them.

CR You Want: She can also do with more lady friends in her life tbh. I'm also always looking to build friendships with people her own age. Maybe it's people she already goes to school with, but hasn't interacted with properly yet. Fellow misfits, outcasts, the magical/supernatural/occult sorts. Possible parental figures to look out for her.

Day to Day Activities: He's a... bit of a recluse? Right now? He just had some shit go down before he got here. So he's taking a minute to adjust. He's a mopey-mope. But he should get better.

About This Character: Let people know a little about their personality, their background, what can be expected when dealing with this character!
Any Warnings: Fai has a miraculous amount of problems in his canon. And he will likely get to relive a lot, if not all of it, here. There's child abuse, neglect, and death. Attempted and completed suicide. Mass illness and death of entire countries. Lying and emotional manipulation. Murder. Extremely low self-esteem and lots of self-hatred. Body horror, particularly eye removal, and bloodloss and shock caused by it. Loss of limbs. Unhinged insanity. Curses, real as well as perceived. Alcohol, excessive, and underage drinking. Blood drinking as well, as he is a vampire here.

Present Life: He just got here after the the events of Tokyo Revelations, meaning he has lost his eye and just recently became a vampire against his own free will in order to stay alive. And Princess Sakura just told him that she's glad he's alive. He's kind of gloomy about the whole thing, as is per his canon at the moment. But finding the tinies of his "children" here will hopefully get him back on his feet sooner rather than later. And he's relatively unfazed to be in Deerington because world hopping is also canon. Not much here since we just started.

Future Ideas: Teasing on the more stoic people of Deerington. Also adopting bitties and just getting back up to some kind of good. I don't have a lot planned, so if you want in on anything, come talk to me.

Day to Day Activities:If Ichigo isn’t brooding in his room/shared apartment, he’s probably out looking for people to protect, because it seems like there is always something heinous on the streets that needs to be killed. He showed up at a weird time, okay.

About This Character: Ichigo is a hard headed, rude, perma-scowl ridden teenager who also has a really soft empathetic side he is always working on hiding. He isn’t easy to get along with most days, but he sure is fun once you can crack through his stupid cool guy image! Also, the essence of his entire being centers around protecting people, even if he acts like it’s a pain in his ass and the bane of his existence sometimes. His very long personality section is here if you want to get into the real deep nitty gritty of it, but be prepared to read a novel.
Any Warnings: Ichigo is a walking CW for violence of all different kinds, and some mentions of death/dying, but otherwise there isn’t anything HUGE to be noted.

Present Life: Well. He turns/turned 18 on the 15th. Mercy kills Lotor on the 17th, and then will spend two whole days in an immense state of despair, until the 20th, when he is put on trial for Murder, Attempted Murder, Assault, Contempt of Court and a whole list of offenses that have him deemed a violent person who much be put down. Then he’ll be very dead for a minute. SO A LOT GOING ON HERE. His Top-Level for July isn't up yet, but I'm happy to link it to anyone interested when it's ready!
Future Ideas: After the heaviness of this month, I think I’m gonna take it easy on him for a minute and just. Try to find him a suiting job/try to build up more CR that doesn’t involve Heavy Duty shit.

Maybe. I'm really good at being awful to him, and I'm equally great at being awful to other characters as well. I'm not turning down the idea of more mutual suffering for sure. Just tentatively planning to be nice for a second, unless someone has something to lay on the table.

Day to Day Activities: Clifford spends a lot of his free time loitering around town, hanging out at the comic book store, the Deerly Diner, the arcade or the coffee shop. He also spends some nights hanging around outside the Hair of the Dog, tirelessly trying to flog his own dog hair to patrons who want to access the real bar. So far, it's been mostly unsuccessful.

About This Character: Cliff is very much a typical teen. Stand-offish, snarky, sulky, brooding... the whole lot. He can be really funny and easy to be around when he's in a good mood, and he's downright adventurous when he feels like it which usually leads to some Bad Life Decision. If he likes you, he'll be secretly sweet and protective, to the degree that you might not even pick up on it until it's been going on for awhile. Recent events both in canon and Deerington has left him shaken and he's generally more responsible these days, which might make him easier to be around.

Any Warnings: Clifford's canon deals with monsters, body horror, underage drinking/drug use, mind control, abusive relationship patterns.

Present Life: Cliff's been in Deerington for a year and a half by now and he's getting real tired of it. While he's sort of resigned to the day to day terror of people being horribly dismembered, he's recently taken a more serious interest in figuring out how the town works and how to maybe stop it??
Although not official just yet, he definitely dropped out of high school in favour of a part time job that, for the time being, is just an unpaid internship. Good life choices all around.

Future Ideas: I have no solid plans just yet, though I am toying with some... animal people side effect shenanigans, maybe. He'll also need a more secure job in the near future.

Employment in Deerington: UHH, this is a good question. Torn between park ranger or flower shop nursery attendant. Or possibly a bartender at a business Tachome-mun and I want to make?? In the meantime, I'm handwaving odd jobs.
Residence in Deerington: Flatwoods Point (with Tachome Dhaume aka "Tuck")
Day to Day Activities: If he isn't a supporting actor in Tuck's shenanigans, he's probably by himself exploring, contemplating nature, or meditating. He tends to collect and hoard random shit he finds in mason jars. He'll also give himself spa treatments/bubble baths with his collection of herbs and essential oils.

About This Character:

Wise, shapeshifting half-elf druid on the outside. Total dumbfuck on the inside. But despite his flaws, he does his best to nurture and care for the people around him...even if that means happily hopping aboard whatever crazy train your character's riding.

He will be the first to tell you he's an idiot, often playing it up for laughs. This is also a guy who will argue that north is "up" with a straight face. (Is he trolling? Who fucking knows!!) Your character miiiight get exhausted after talking to him for 60 seconds, depending on the day. (Shout-out to Atsushi and Shiro for tolerating his bullshit lmao.) Vyng is used to this reaction — and he might just gently soothe you like a cranky baby and suggest you take a nap.

Behind his goofy, laidback exterior is some serious self-loathing and an intense discomfort with acknowledging his own trauma head-on. He also tends to keep most of his true thoughts/feelings to himself, while simultaneously craving connections with others. (THAT'S TOTALLY NORMAL, THOUGH, RIGHT?)

Dude is also basically married to his best buddy, and they have a son called Billie (who isn't in the game, sob).

Present Life: Looking after characters who seem like they need it! Supporting his husbando by working odd jobs and helping him with his shitty plans . Low-key desperate to make friends for him and Tuck. (He's particularly invested in helping Tuck find his niche in the Sleeper community.)

Future Ideas: Tuck-mun and I are gonna open up a drag bar. Aside from that, I'm mostly playing things by ear. (Though now that Shiro's taught him to drive, I've kicked around the idea of him racing people.)

About This Character: Orpheus comes from an adaptation of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice that's set in a vaguely American, vaguely Dustbowl-esque time and place, with the key difference being that the Greek gods are still worshiped and in power, manifesting in and manipulating the physical world. Orpheus specifically is the son of the muse Calliope, and as such is a supernaturally talented musician whose songs have the power to do all sorts of various nonsense. He's a sweet and kind-hearted individual as well as a little bit naive and lacking in social skills - though the recent loss of his wife has put a dent in his previously rosy worldview somewhat.
Any Warnings: Mostly grief over Eurydice and references to her fate, which involves forced labor and loss of memory.

Present Life: So far, he's only been here a couple weeks and hasn't gotten up to too much. His trial recently went up and revealed some of his past to those present, so he's coping with that mostly.
Future Ideas: It'd be nice to have him make some friends who can get him to talk about stuff other than Eurydice and how her death was all his fault! To be less flip about it I'm looking to have him start to come to terms with things or at least find other stuff to be upset about, which I'm sure will be in no short supply given Deerington's everything.

Day to Day Activities: Right now he's still in the "observational" and "resource gathering" stages of his time in the game. This means he'll be getting to know his surroundings by just walking around the place, watching people, checking the library and any other place that might store information. He can also be found scavenging in the junkyard for supplies or makeshift tools/weapons.

About This Character: He's a villain and he can be a pretty dangerous one when he wants to be. With no magical powers, his strengths lie in being cunning, deceptive and absolutely ruthless. This guy has no fear of anything and an incredible tolerance for pain. He has a psychopathic lack of empathy for others yet he's an expert at reading other people and their emotions. Nothing is known about his personal history (though I have my theories) and he likes to keep it that way. The Joker is known for being highly manipulative and often mixes lies and truth together to confuse people. When he's not being actively dangerous, the Joker's behavior is much more "casual" or even playful, meaning he'll behave like he's less dangerous than he really is to make people feel as if he isn't much of a threat.

Basically, he's good for cr that ranges from negative to mildly antagonistic or even kind of playful or friendly depending on who he's interacting with. No matter the case, always expect him to try toying with your character's mind or pushing them toward their darker inclinations. Also, he's a shameless schemer. Would not recommend playing against him in a game of chess.

Any Warnings: You can expect darker subjects in general when it comes to the Joker.

Additional Notes: This Joker does not kill children or animals (unless they attack him first), not for any moral reasons but because he sees nothing to gain from it.

Present Life: Still just getting situated. He's in the middle of a trial that could easily go either way. He's also been observing other characters' virtual trials and learning about their personal lives, skills and misdeeds. While he might not participate in these trials, you can bet that he's watching and studying everyone.
Future Ideas: He'll probably want to know about FEAR and what they do there/what kind of weapons they have. At this point he just wants to learn as much as he can about everything and everyone.

CR You Want: He's new so everything!

The instigator in him is attracted to characters who are in law enforcement or are hero types, especially if they pose an intellectual challenge. These are often his main targets. He gets the most fun out of rivaling them, trying to mess with their heads and their self perception. If you play this type of character, he will probably have his eye on them as a potential target.

Unstable characters. These can be anyone, even other villains, who seem like ticking time bombs. If he encounters someone who seems like they can be pushed off the deep end and into a downward spiral of destructiveness, he will happily provide the push.

Morally gray characters who are prone to engaging in criminal behaviors and are looking for leadership.

Innocent or gullible characters who can be led down a path of corruption.

About This Character: Alec grew up within the sheltered and closed off culture of Shadowhunters, a race of humans with angel blood who use magic runes to boost their own abilities to hunt and kill demons. As such, Alec can come off as seeming a bit superior, especially when interacting with individuals without supernatural abilities. His people are supposed to be the only thing standing between his world descending into a demon ridden hell, and so his culture fosters a bit of a God Complex. Fortunately, Alec is reasonable and can be called out on his attitude. And he sure does have a lot of attitude. Alec's baseline is snarky and sarcastic and he tends to have a quip ready for all occasions. But under his less than kind seeming exterior he really does care about people and wouldn't think twice about throwing himself into danger to save someone. He's a deeply loyal person once someone gets close to him.
Any Warnings: He's a professional demon hunter, many of whom take on human appearances. He's been trained for combat since he was a child. Shadowhunter culture in the series has shades of homophobia and bigotry aimed towards supernatural races. Alec is learning to accept himself as a gay man and see past the influences of his upbringing, but it's a process of unlearning certain rhetoric.

Present Life: Nothing big is going down yet. He's still getting to know people and is working to learn more about the world he's in. His relationship with Magnus is a big question mark as Magnus' time in Deerington has left a mark that Alec isn't quite sure how to maneuver around. He's developing a begrudging friendship with comics!Bucky that is hilarious. Recently he's been trying to ignore the rumor mill and prepare for the next big awful thing to go down.
Future Ideas: Getting more involved with F.E.A.R. stuff and having him interact with other F.E.A.R. members would be great.

About This Character: Josh is a fucking mess. He's a former mutant-hating Reaver who came from a family who really, really weren't mutant friendly - he never actually hated mutants or wished them any harm, he's just a coward who went along with his friends. He was a bad, shitty kid who also rarely attended class and was kind of just an arrogant asshole who never thought before he spoke. Then his powers kicked in and he went to Xaviers and that more or less beat the asshole out of him.

The X-Men themselves put him through the ringer. Almost his entire class was killed, many of them right in front of him, which screwed him up massively. Josh developed a massive issue where if he's unable to heal people and be useful he kind of shuts down, believing the only thing he's actually good for is healing. He ran away from the X-Men twice - once after he killed a classmate during X-Force 2009, and once after he was brought back to them (because he was living in the rubble of the mutant Utopia, he doesn't make smart life choices) and realized he couldn't cure the plague that was killing mutantkind. Both of these times ended in him getting killed because someone was after his powers, and both times involved him walking straight into danger with no heed for his own safety. H

By his current canonpoint he's decided that maybe Xavier's dream isn't actually ever going to work and he's sided with the Brotherood of Evil Mutants, and then joined Emma Frost's Hellfire Club once some shit went down and that stopped being a thing. Thanks to dimensional shenanigans all the X-Men are missing. He thinks they're dead and everyone else he ever loved is getting slowly getting picked off one by one by the government while he sits on his hands and takes cues from Emma Frost.

Personality wise, Josh is kind of a dumb jock himbo type. He likes to party and distract himself from how bad things are by getting involved with other people, but he can't ever commit to anything so don't expect marriage. He likes video games, movies, dumb bands from the early 00s, and he's super athletic. He generally means well, but he's also prone to saying really stupid things and hurting feelings without realizing it.

The duality of his powers - control over life and death - and the supreme mental illness he has going on kind of lead to him losing his shit when he's particularly overwhelmed emotionally. He once got so upset he almost detonated a mutant with nuclear bomb-esque powers just to make him suffer for hurting people - without really caring that he and other people were in the blast zone. Thankfully he came to his senses and freaked out about it. He hunted down the guy who killed him and brought him back to life and killed him, over and over again, until Magneto pissed him off and he was like YEAH OK I'LL RAISE THE DEAD TO PROVE A POINT. Josh is aware that he's not doing so hot mentally and is seriously working on it, but there's only so much you can do when you're a) from comics and b) in a dreamscape dedicated to suffering.

Present Life: He's just having a bad time sorting out some info he learned about the future. He's meeting people and making some friends and trying to get himself a job and something more going for him so he feels less like he's about to rattle apart.

Future Ideas: I'd like to focus on getting him something of a life - and then probably distracting himself near constantly by throwing ragers out of his house. The louder and less focus he's giving to his situation, the happier he is.

About This Character: He's a former yakuza scion raised as an assassin, ordered to murder his brother when he betrayed the clan, and has chosen to abandon the clan and wander the world in search of redemption. He still mostly just knows how to be haughty, murder his problems, and be extremely grouchy.

He's also got a magical dragon tattoo and a fancy bow and arrow, though those arrows are finite and pretty high-tech, so maybe finding a way to construct more is a priority at the moment...certainly not making amends with his apparently not-dead brother, Genji.
Any Warnings: Brother-cide and a death wish, violence, things along that line. He's also kind of prejudiced towards robots/omnics, so if your character is mechanical as opposed to organic, he might be more unpleasant than usual.

Present Life: Having largely gotten over himself and actively trying to be a less terrible person, after finding out his brother isn't dead and still has hope for him, Hanzo is struggling to find the best way to make ammends for the terrible deeds in his life. There are no easy answers to that question. The only way to find them seems to be to look outwards, so there will be some attempt to reach out to those he views as needing/deserving his assistance in the hopes that things will become clearer as he goes.
He's also going through something of a midlife crisis, so shenanigans might be a little easier to talk him into, lately.

About This Character: Jean-Claude is a fairly powerful vampire who has just come off of a pretty masterful rise into becoming in charge of all vampires of London in his previous game (undergrounds). He is in general pretty decent for a vampire, but he is still a vampire, and an old one at that, and he has an irritating way of twisting nearly everything to get exactly what he wants or needs out of it, and if that includes your friendship then so be it. How do you think he has survived this long? It certainly was not by playing nice.
Any Warnings: Unfortunately there are many things in JC's past that are potentially troublesome, including: his wife and child died in childbirth (he will probably never talk about this but fyi), he is a vampire and therefore must drink blood to survive, his maker has a very unhealthy obsession with beautiful people (IE. him), he has a nontraditional romance that ends in tragedy when his lovers are captured and tortured for witchcraft, his one lover (the vampire one) survives this and blames him for this torture and the others' death and JC unhealthily blames himself too, JC was tortured himself for daring to leave his maker's nest, JC owns a strip club (male dancers mostly), he killed the vamp that was in charge in order to take his place by beheading him in front of a live audience, and he himself is a very sexual person by nature and will openly go for both male and female characters both.

Present Life: JC is brand new in game, so new that I am late to this meme even. As I said he has come here straight from undergrounds which was another game where he was Duke of Central London, which essentially made him master of the city in terms other people might understand. He was head vampire in charge of all the other vampires and he gained this position by leading a claim for territory that spanned a good six months and culminated in the beheading of his predecessor. Then he ran for a position in government which he lost and he fell into something of a funk energy-wise, and somehow fell asleep and wound up here. He's still trying to work this whole place out.
Future Ideas: I am up for throwing JC at absolutely anything I know that sounds vague but it is true. He does need a job eventually. I don't suppose there are any night clubs...

About This Character: Hartley is a tech genius with a particular obsession with sound, and has developed technology that allows him to hypnotize people and rats as well as shatter objects using his flute. Having been born wealthy, but having never fit in or understood the need for the excess and social status that those around him cared about, then suddenly ending up on his own, he doesn't think much of the wealthy or their way of doing things, and tends to feel that money is wasted on the rich. He can tolerate some who use their status to help others, but overall they just tend to annoy him.

He does, however, love working on his tech, and enjoys focusing on a project. He hates being interrupted while he's working, and can get snippy when someone just barges in. Present Life: Back home his parents were recently murdered, he was framed for it, and he's only recently been cleared and had Wally help him remember what was and wasn't real, due to the fact that the Mirror Master, after murdering Hartley's parents, then messed with Hartley's memories so he wouldn't be sure whether he actually did it or not. Now that he's in Deerington, he's trying not to think about that too much (though it keeps creeping into his thoughts regardless), and now he's just trying to settle in and cope with the fact that he's stuck in a place where 8 ton murder bears are a thing.

Future Ideas: Right now I just want him to meet people, get to know them, maybe talk about what he's been going through and get some help coping with it, while at the same time Deerington is exploiting those same things and making them worse.

Day to Day Activities: Vasiliy spends most of his time at the Hospital waiting for calls, idling the ambulance in a strategic position, or addressing medical emergencies. He doesn't really shop or engage in hobby things, because he feels a crushing obligation to more or less be on-call 24/7 given that he's the only EMT in the whole town who isn't physically bound to the hospital as of right now. That having been said, he does now own one (1) horse he boards at the sleeper-run stable, so he can be seen there occasionally.

About This Character: Vasiliy is a revenant. Although he's been alive for 35 years as of 2020, he was born to a working class family in St. Petersburg much earlier than that—in 1910, to be exact. His parents were both first-wave Bolsheviks and raised him as Lenin instructed, which shaped their child into a man who very rarely shows strong emotions, prioritizes the group at all costs, self-effaces to an obviously dishonest degree, and values education and self-betterment. At 18 he took an entry-level job as a local party clerk and ultimately graduated to personnel and staffing; in 1936, Vasiliy was chosen along with hundreds of others in similar roles to accompany his supervisor in that department, Nikolai Yezhov, to the NKVD - the Communist Party's secret police and secret services division.

This coincided with the beginning of four years of mass-murders and imprisonments known as the Yezhovshchina ('Yezhov's Time') or the Great Purge. A constant flow of confessions were needed to power this machine and meet execution and imprisonment quotas, so interrogators were in high demand; Vasiliy was initially tasked with solely playing the 'good cop'/sympathetic figure typical to the Soviet interrogation style because it was seen as a way to ease an outsider into the rougher work of interrogations using physical force, but his charisma and perceptive nature made this a role that he excelled in, so there he stayed. Over the next four years Vasiliy successfully talked hundreds of fellow Soviets into signing false confessions by 'coming to them as a fellow Communist, a fellow Russian', etc etc (a typical example here). This came to an end when Yezhov lost favor and was executed; because members of any party entity were tied to the person who had brought them in, Vasiliy was arrested, made to sign a false confession by someone with the role he had held a few days prior, and executed in the basement of the Lubyanka with little fanfare, all of which was a highly formative experience.

Then he woke up.

For reasons he's still unsure of, Vasiliy abruptly re-entered the living world on his back in the snow exactly 75 years after his death — with identity documents in his pockets for a man of the same name with the same day of birth... in the year 1985. Over the past 5 years he's been coming to terms with the sheer amount of damage he's personally responsible for as well as his own role in the Yezhovshchina while doing something anti-cult advocates refer to as 'deprogramming' himself - unlearning a mentality that regarded Stalin as a living god and obeyed without question (or at least without voicing those questions). After two years in the living world he trained as an EMT and subsequently fled to America out of fear someone would discover his secret and execute him for it; although he isn't religious, he views his medical work as the closest thing to atonement and counterbalancing the harm he did as is realistically possible.

Vasiliy is a man who wants to be a better person than he was, but it's a process. He's come a long way from where he was during his time in the NKVD, but he still has a ways to go. He does have genuinely good traits - altruism, empathy, and generosity, to name a few — and they were what drew him to Communism (in which he is still a radical believer), but he's also shouldering a tremendous amount of guilt and paranoia as well as deep feelings of betrayal and grief. He's immensely distrusting and shows signs of undiagnosed PTSD, which he hasn't gotten treated because he'd have to explain the catalyst, an event he fears would get him either executed for his crimes or sent to a psychiatric hospital if disclosed. He's highly susceptible to peer pressure and typically assumes the worst of people; Vasiliy still sees the world with very little room for grey areas, and if someone isn't at least a left-leaning socialist he will absolutely think of them as a Bad Person. He's also in the process of adapting to 1950s American society - it's rough being plunged into a culture with values diametrically opposed to his own in which he is the enemy in addition to being a regular ol' Sleeper, and he generally resents America and Americans as symbols of everything he stands against.

Present Life: Vasiliy is about to be put on trial for his crimes during the Great Purge, which is exactly what he's been fearing for the past 5 years. He's in a horrible mental state this month because he's basically been plunged back into a terrifying time in which even perpetrators could be arrested and killed at any moment. I plan on only having a few parties attend, and he's going to plead guilty from the start.
Future Ideas: Mother Superior more or less confirmed Vasiliy's suspicions about/lack of trust in Sodder in this thread, so I'm excited to work with that new info in threads, and to generally start to get into the 'always being watched' element of the setting.

About This Character: Kyoko is a magical girl which, in the context of her canon, means that she was granted a wish in exchange for fighting monsters known as "Witches." The fine print on the contract is that it entails having your soul placed in a piece of jewelry, growing increasingly corrupt as magic is used, and eventually dying or turning into a Witch.

Kyoko herself is a veteran magical girl who decided to live a selfish, hedonistic life after blaming herself for the death of her family. Can't hurt (or be hurt by) other people if there are no other people, etc. Due to her canon point and in game events, some of that regret has been eased and she's softened up a little. Still, she's incredibly rough around the edges. She puts up a tough act and tries to avoid getting attached to people, but she's actually really lonely and wants friends.

She's also really bad at being mean when people don't respond to her aggression with aggression, lmao. She's a big softie at heart, and she can't stand to see people suffer. She just happens to have exactly two coping mechanisms and they're both terrible. She's really not a bad kid, please be her friend that she totally doesn't need!!

Present Life: Right now, Kyoko is staying with a few other magical girls in Prospero. She's reconciled with Mami (finaltea) and is trying to get a better handle on the town itself. She's been here for a bit, but it's quite a bit to take in! Otherwise, she's starting to soften up after dealing with people, and kind of recoiling from events of last month!

This month, it's getting shattered as she's going to see Mami put on trial and executed, and be put on trial herself. Whoops.
Future Ideas: I'd like her to start opening up to people! She's the opposite of Mami in that she would rather no one know about the circumstances behind her power because, well, that can only lead to bad things clearly.

She's also pretty bad at recognizing and sharing her own feelings in ways that aren't "repress" and "get mad about it," so being able to talk through things and open up to someone without acting like an idiot is a true goal. Though she's going to regress and shell back up because of all the murder, so... Whoops?

CR You Want: More friends! Either people who can put up with her nonsense, or ones who will fight her. I'd also love more shaky alliances, or even negative CR - she's definitely the type to rub people the wrong way and pick fights.

Day to Day Activities: He's a tech nerd so he kind of likes to put feelers out to see who else might be tech nerds, and barring that, he can be a chatterbox at times, so he can be found at various places like B&Bs or just around town being nosy, as you do.

About This Character: Outwardly, Tony's very brash and loud, bordering very closely to arrogant, because he's smart and he knows it. He has a lot of knowledge about a lot of different subjects of the science/technology variety, and he's not afraid to spout said knowledge if the opportunity arises. Inwardly, though, he's a big bundle of insecurities. He tries really hard to mask all of this, though, but it kind of seeps out without him realizing it. Approval is something he really wants, to just be told that hey, he's not a total screw-up.

He's a little bit of a people pleaser to some degree (case in point, how he made top of the line equipment for nearly all of the Avengers) but that's mostly because he's sort of tired of seeing people die. It applies in Deerington too, but he's realizing that's really quite a bit out of his control.

But yeah, a lot of his inner workings are just that: inner. He doesn't like to let that stuff out of the bag, choosing instead to present a confident, bold exterior. If he does let someone get that close? It's because he really trusts them and figures they won't blow him off. And if they do, well, he's been blown off before. It happens.

Any Warnings: This month especially, Tony's kind of in a dark place with a lot of anxiety, PTSD, negative self-talk, self-hate, etc.

Present Life: At present, things with Tony are a little rocky. The rumors about him that were displayed everywhere really rocked him, although he tried not to let that show. And then with the whole Ultimate titles, that also messed with his head a lot. Combining his own (Ultimate Fuckup because I'm mean) with others (cough Beck cough) it just culminated in a perfect storm of Tony being very unhappy. And then if you add in the shoulder angels/demons, plus the guilt shadow thing, Tony's spiraling a little bit.

Future Ideas: Well, his house got very nicely destroyed, so fixing that back up is going to be a long-term project. Except he broke his arm during the attack so that complicates that just a tiny bit. Aside from that, I really want Tony to get in touch with the resident tinkerers/techies. He's already been talking with Ruby Rose and hitting it off so that's a thing.

I might even get him his own workshop eventually because he's just itching to build something again. When that happens, it's going to be full speed ahead with anything and everything that's feasible within the setting. lmao

Day to Day Activities: Just around wherever she can walk to, really. Patrolling when she can is just habit with her at this point, so she can basically be found pretty much anywhere during the day, and occasionally at night as well.

About This Character: Spunky, sassy, really really stubborn, but super loyal and really into protecting people, so if someone's messing with someone else and they need a hand, Buffy will absolutely jump in feet first to save them. Or stake first, more accurately. She has some issues brewing below the surface, but she's excellent at compartmentalizing out of necessity, so unless she's extremely tired/pushed to her limits/extremely done, she usually doesn't let that stuff out.

Any Warnings: She slays vampires for a living, so she's pretty well acquainted with death and seeing people die. She's well acquainted with darker subjects, and while she tries to keep that on the down-low, it sometimes comes up in conversation.

Present Life: Right now, she's just living up to her Ultimate Slayer title, knocking down robots as fast as she can. It's a good outlet for her feelings, really. Who needs therapy when you can just destroy crazed bots?
Future Ideas: She's dodging the whole thing about how she jumped off a tower into a portal of doom to save the world, because while it's great that she saved the world, she also died. But she really doesn't want to be some mopey doom and gloom girl, so the best course of action is to just ignore it and pretend it didn't happen. Actually, it's really not bothering her all that much, because aside from the trauma her friends/family are most likely dealing with, being dead means she doesn't really have to worry about the day to day concerns of living.

Not that she's going to say that to anyone because that seems incredibly callous, but. It's just where her head's at.

She may or may not have to address that at some point, but for now, her main plans are to just keep doing the slayer thing and making friends where she can.
